i guess with time quality comes down. i went in this past sunday and the experience was a little different. maybe because it was the slower part of the day but i didnt feel welcomed at all. im a firm believer in positive mentality producing great results. i let them know i made an appt for hard gel full set and the woman working on nails immediately questioned my choice even before i had a chance to sit down. as if i had made a mistake she then proceeded to let me know this service usually runs around $75 to $80 especially with the shape i chose and if i was okay with that. i let her know that was okay since i had been here many times before. the entire time she kept joking about how long and brutal this process was and always try to recommend her customers to go a different route. she was a little rough on my nails (nothing i couldnt handle) but i noticed dried blood spots on where she clipped my cuticles. she filed a little too hard as if she was angry that i had made her give me a coffin shape. she made a comment on how long and brutal that process was as well. i went there on sunday and on wednesday i noticed my gel polish already about to come off and one of my nails already about to break off. i really did not want to write this review because i absolutely love this place because i could see she was trying to be social & friendly however i just feel like i wasnt taken seriously. read more

I wanted to treat my sister from out of town to a seriously pampering experience. This salon definitely fit the bill! The decor of the place is luxurious and inviting. We were offered drinks and good company. Everyone who works here really cares about their clients, and it's very evident in the service that you get. I absolutely LOVE polish'd. As I look through the other reviews I notice the low starred ones are typically from people who didn't get a chance to actually have their nails done and are simply complaining because they are bitter about not being able to show up unannounced or late and be immediately catered too (#sorrynotsorry #thetruthhurts) I've always gotten such good service, my gel manicures last forever and my first time there the nail tech spent extra time taking off my acrylics so as to save my natural nails (it took over an hour but it was worth it because she was thorough and did an awesome job). They DO get busy, but they have an online/text schedule option (that I love) that makes scheduling so simple. You can easily change appt times when needed. Or, just call before* showing up (*Telephones: Helping people plan ahead since 1887). I have yet to have a tech there who worked on my nails that did a bad job. Once I managed to chip a nail days later due to heavy water use at work, and I was able to pop in and have it fixed at no extra charge. I really appreciated that. I always see their "special" pedicures with specific lotions and scrubs, etc. Advertised on the board outside and that's what I'm planning to 'splurge' on the next time I need a "me" day. Or, I might bring my 5 year old niece with me because she Loves looking at my nails after I get them done and they offer simple manicures and/or pedicures that the little ones I've seen get them are SO excited about. Plus, there are complimentary drinks (I'm sober these days so no champagne for me, but I go for a Sprite and it's just as great). *Cheers* Also, to the person who wondered in her review if they "pay people for good reviews"...the only way they 'paid' me for this (I'm joking with using the word 'paid'- obviously) is by existing and employing great technicians. Even the owner has always been very nice in the interactions I've had with her. I don't even live in Newbury Park anymore but I make the trek out to go to Polish'd. In closing, I highly recommend Polish'd, but whenever possible- plan ahead and make an appointment, that way you don't have to worry about waiting or not getting seen. It's really not that difficult to plan ahead like you would for oh, idk, maybe a hair cut/color? You usually need to schedule that with your hair salon, at least at the nicer places, right? Well, the technicians at Polish'd are professionals (just like a hair dresser), so maybe those leaving 1 star reviews simply because they can't understand that a great nail place is busy (gasp!) should be a bit more respectful of other's hard work, skills and time needed to do a good job. (& just because a place is busy does NOT mean they owe you anything to try and 'lure' you back in...Stop being so cheap and recognize quality when you see it. I mean, This isn't some $14 mani/pedi pedi combo strip mall joint where you wake up a few days later with a fungal infection under your toe and chipped tips on your nails. It's not overly expensive, but you get what you pay for and this place is WORTH paying a few extra bucks for a job well done.) Ok, I'm done. I had a mani-pedi with Mari for the first time at this salon. It's really beautiful inside, very stylish, complimentary neck wraps and wine are a nice touch. My experience was overall good, but I wanted to mention a couple of things. The callus removal is really disappointing... All they do is scrub your feet with a scrubber very quickly. It's totally not worth any extra money whatsoever, I scrub my feet like this every day in the shower. Other places put more effort or use different tools, and my feet usually feel super soft afterwards. This one I can't even tell or see any difference at all. But, Mari was very friendly and sweet and kind, and I can't say one bad thing about her. read more

Had a fantastic experience here! The staff was amazing, energetic, and sociable. Everything was beautiful and clean, for the first time I didn't feel the need to question if things had been sanitized properly before they were used. While enjoying my complimentary wine I got to look over the menu of add ons to what I was getting (mani/pedi for my daughter and mani for me) and there was ZERO pressure to add any additional services!! Furthermore you can get a basic pedicure for a great price and not get stuck paying $45 for the "standard" deluxe like a lot of places. This place is a find! Very posh, clean, smells great, no fumes; a MAJOR plus since I get headaches. They were busy, but accommodated us as walk ins with very minimal wait. Nail techs were really nice and professional, didn't push for upsells, and were great with the girls. My daughter is obsessed with cheetahs, and the nail tech gave her the cutest cheetah spots. My pedi was still looking good 2 weeks later, no joke. Went to treat myself to get my nails done for my birthday. Georgine (I hope I spelled that correctly) was very welcoming and kind and explained to me their sanitation procedures (I was on chemo and I am on medicines that suppress my immune system to I have to be very careful). Nicole did my nails and was very meticulous and made my hands and feet look beautiful. Mandy waxed and shaped my eyebrows and they look better than they have ever looked. We were able to make a same day appointment and when we arrived we were greeted right away and offered beverages. The interior of the salon was modern, and most importantly, clean! I have been coming to Polish'd for 18 months now, and I am very happy to have them close to my home in Dos Vientos. I am very particular, having gotten mani/pedis in high end spas in LA, SF, London and Paris. I had been going to Bliss Spa at the W in Westwood for several years and getting a Shellac (CND's gel hybrid) specialty mani and specialty pedi. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for Polish'd and me, the W cancelled me at the last minute before I was leaving to go back east for a wedding. I was stuck, so I gave Polish'd a shot. They were able to accommodate me and, while they don't use Shellac as a salon, I bought my own and their tech used it. Personally, I don't care for traditional gels and prefer Shellac. Now Candace, whose service I really like, is also using some Shellac. I was very pleased from the get go. The salon is very clean, well designed with a comfortable center nail bar with a shelf below for the gel dryers and comfortable, logical pedicure "booths" with removable resin(?) tubs that are clean and sanitised after each pedicure. The salon is white and grey with turquoise accents. All of the instruments are sterilised and packaged like other high end places I have been to do. There is decent music at the right level. They offer beverages - and I get my usual "water, no ice". They offer many add-ons, like scrubs, hot oil, etc with their services. I love the hot oil, as an alternative to paraffin at some other places (but not in this area). I use the scrub and hot oil for hands and feet, and get a "wet" manicure with the Shellac as my cuticles are very dry and I always got them at Bliss and in Paris with Shellac. Their prices are very good compared to other high end salons I have used. The manis and pedis have been very well done for me. I get a short nail, chic, natural looking manicure with Shellac and a wonderful pampering pedicure. I highly recommend this little gem in Newbury Park, well located by Trader Joe's and CVS. read more

I went to get a fill there. I was given gift card to try this new place that is 30 minutes away. I was told how great of an experience I would have. I called to make an appointment got there and waited about 7 min. sat with a lady I didn't get her name, She started shaping, then filing with gel, when she was done she started painting, when all was done I looked at them and loved the color. even gave her a 10 dollar tip so $75 and walked out got in my car and saw OMG I have dips by my cuticles and they are wavy. I had no time to go in and have them fix them I was so disappointed. I'm still upset I just had them done Friday and it looks horrible. I would not recommend to anyone unless they called to make it up to me that is a lot of money for just a fill and no design or nothing just paint. :( read more

We needed a place for a bridal party to get our nails done and found Polish'd online. We scored a same day appointment for 4 and took a chance. This was the place for us!!! The ladies here were super professional, accommodating and FUN! scheduled mani pedis and were all taken care of and we spent a little over 2 hours getting pampered, laughing, and having an overall great time. Yes you can find a less expensive nail salon, but Polish'd is worth a few extra bucks. From the lighting to the decor to the staff, the care that goes into making this salon soothing and luxurious is apparent. I love the menu of mani and pedi options that even includes the amount of time you can expect it to take. Only have time for a basic pedicure? No problem. But if you have a little more time, the specialty treatments include hot towels and massages and soaks and scrubs in all kinds of lovely scents. Loved this place!! Cute and clean. I had made an appointment for myself (pedi) and my aunt (mani-pedi) before we even got into town, for a wedding. Last minute, another relative wanted to go and when we got there, I decided I wanted a pedi as well. So we brought an extra person and I wanted more services and the completely accommodated us! The girls were wonderful and friendly and we talked and laughed the whole time. Had no idea this place was here. I had admired their outdoor plants in modern containers, but never walked in because I'd gone to another local nail salon for the last 10 years. My friend made us appointments and kept saying, "Wait til you see the inside, you're gonna love it!" No lie - gorgeous and so elegantly decorated. We were warmly greeted, taken such great care of, and I love my pedicure. I got the basic $28 pedi and Tyla did it perfectly. I found the booth seating spacious and comfy.
