They saw my original review and contacted me immediately, zeroed in on the source of the issues I had experienced and invited me to please give them another shot. I went to see Tyla today and my experience was five star for sure. I personally enjoy using my mani/pedi experience to relax and feel pampered. They go above and beyond with so many options to make you feel taken care of. You can tell Tyla really focuses on detail and made my nails look perfect. There are so many options offered on their menu from the type of mani/pedi service, to the types of quality scrubs and butters they use, to the color choices and even beverages offered. Everything is clean and sanitary and you truly receive an experience that you do not get anywhere else in the area. I had a lash extension appt and I hit traffic bec there was an accident on my way to the salon. I was 20 mins late. I drove from Simi Valley and when I got to the salon they said they have to reschedule me because I was late. I was looking forward for this appointment and they didn't even take me. So I walked out very disappointed and I wasn't planning to reschedule. Wasted my gas to drive to Newbury Park. The receptionist Francesca was rude and making things up. She even called me and said the wrong time. Holly didn't say anything to me about my lashes. I know the service is for 2 hours . I was late for 20 mins!!!! There was an accident and they can't even understand. I didn't even tell her to rush the service for me. Please don't make up things so your reputation won't be hurt. Even if you give me a free service I won't even go back to your salon. If I can give zero star I Will. I read all of the low star review. They don't care if they are the one late providing the service but if the customer were late they make a big deal. read more

Disappointing experience. :( The customer service was poor, unfortunately. None of the girls seemed eager to take in new business, nor were they friendly. The lady, Iliza (I think), giving my mom a pedicure painted her toes with a different color than what she had chosen because it was more money after my mom expressed she was fine with spending the extra $5. She also talked my mom out of getting eyelash extensions. Honestly shocked that a salon would turn away extra money or possible business. Several of the girls not working were busy on their phones and not greeting those coming in the doors. Bummed that my manicure is crooked, and I can see the uneven layers of polish that were applied. Very cute salon, very poor customer service and experience. Hoping this can encourage the business to make improvements. read more

She was super friendly and never before had I experienced the kind of care and attention she put into doing my nails. She listened to what I wanted and didn't rush thru the process. I came to Polish'd for the first time about a week and a half ago for a pedicure. Overall had a good pedicure, but the interactions with my manicurist seemed to cloud the experience. I have a newborn at home and was able to get out of the house for a couple hours - thought I'd try a new place. Pros: It was very easy to get an appointment, and I liked that they didn't have the traditional spa chairs. The soak they used smelled and felt great by the end. Apparently they have a ton of other soaks. I asked my manicurist about the other ones but she didn't really tell me. I later saw on the services that there are a lot of different ones. The manicurist did a fine job. She took her time and seemed thorough. The salon also seemed very clean. Cons: 1. While the soak smelled amazing and ended up feeling good, it was extremely hot when she first brought it over. Maybe my manicurist didn't notice me dipping my toes in and out and awkwardly shifting around because my skin felt like it was on fire? Once I got over the burning sensation, the soak was nice. 2. I made several unsuccessful attempts to engage my manicurist in conversation - okay, maybe she's just not the chatty type? That's cool. While my pedicure was being finished, I took a look at the services available and saw they had a 10/20 minute neck/shoulder massage for $10/$20. Awesome! I could really use a little massage (remember - newborn at home). I asked my lady if she or someone would have time to add the massage. She hesitated and told me that there wasn't anyone that was a trained masseuse and that the masseuse who IS there several times a week was not there that day. I was confused because it's clearly listed as a service. When I get a shoulder/neck massage at other nail salons it's not usually a masseuse. So I asked for clarification and she recommended I come back another time when the masseuse is here because she's really good. Awesome! But I'm looking to get something now... She then tells me something to the affect of "if I want a random person to give me a massage" then they can have someone do it. Well, I DEFINITELY don't want one now..... We finished the rest of the pedicure in silence. They didn't have any drying spray so I sat there for an extra 5-10 minutes like she recommended. Once my toes were dry, I got up to pay and waited for another manicurist to check me out. I left a 20% tip, but I never saw my manicurist again after she finished the pedicure. Anyway, I'd say I'm more likely to try this place out one more time than not. Probably will request a different manicurist as the interactions were just odd to me. read more

Just super underwhelmed by my experience. I think the best part was the nice blonde lady in the front. She was very sweet. Other than that, there was no welcoming feeling inside. I was a walk in, they accommodated me last minute, which was good. I appreciated that. No one helped me up or down from the throne chairs, and no one came to check on me as my toes were drying. My toe nails were not shaped symmetrically but I didn't notice until I got home (I am kicking myself for not checking while I was there) - I just assumed they would be straight. My artist was a nice lady. I paid the extra $10 for leg massage and hot towel. It was not worth $10 - I really should have passed. She nicked my left big toe when she was trimming my cuticles but I didn't bleed, so that's a plus. It was sore for a few days after, though. Once my toes were painted, I never saw my artist again. I really was concerned about skipping getting myself down from the throne chairs. As I was stepping up, the bottom step was slightly tilting and all I was told was 'watch yourself'. The throne chairs are pretty cool to look at though. They have a huge selection of nail polish, which was great. read more

I had zero problems coming here other than one issue in regards to booking both my mother and I to get mani/pedis together. Instead of sitting together, she got her pedi and I got my mani. Then we switched. So anytime we needed to talk to each other we had to yell across the way. Appointments were easy to make since everything was online! I'm a stickler about cleanliness when it comes to manis and pedis. This place is hands down the cleanest nail salon that I've ever had the pleasure of being in. Holly did an incredible job with my manicure. She's extra awesome in my opinion because she has rescue dogs too . I immediately felt welcomed and relaxed when I arrived. I'm super picky about how the nail polish goes on and most nail salons are disappointing as the polish is too thick which I hate. Hers is perfect!!! I love, love, love this adorable nail salon. Hands down the best place in this area. Super clean and comfy and has a million choices of high quality polishes and yummy unique nail services that include great smelling and organic products. An additional nice touch is you are offered a variety of drinks (even wine and beer! ) and a hot neck pillow. My go-to gal is Candace. She is incredible and an absolute doll. I always enjoy our time together and I look forward to my visit. She always does a fabulous job. When Candace is not available, I have been to many of the other manicurists and they all have been great. Last, the owners Georgene and Keith are so friendly and really care about their customers. Just paid $45, plus a tip for a pedicure that did not live up to its service description. Went in for a medi-pedi knowing my feet needed some extra TLC, like the service description stated, however Maria was not in the mood I guess to provide any extra TLC or effort here! My feet needed a good old fashion scrub and I was hoping to get a good massage to rejuvenate, however instead of providing the extra TLC promised, I received an attitude from Maria and some lip service as to why she felt she could not deliver. I didn't mind spending the extra money for what I thought was going to be a good pedicure that promised some extra TLC, as I needed it, however I definitely don't feel I received my monies worth. Unfortunately I had to scrub my own feet when I got home ... a few moments of scrubbing and my feet look great and feel soft again. Too bad I had to do it myself. A shout out to the receptionist (sorry, I didn't catch your name) who saw I was not happy and tried to get me some customer service (with no such luck from the pedicurist) and provided a $5 credit at check out. Polish'd Nail Bar is the only place I go to get my nails done. I've been happy coming here for two years now. We have come for pre-wedding pampering (see pic), birthdays, and even on Christmas Eve (see pic). Holly even accommodated my "turkey toes" request (see pic). The Diva mani pedi is adorable and a special treat for little girls. My personal favorite is the Tropical Paradise pedicure. Yes, it costs more than other mani pedi places in town, but it is so worth it. I've never been injured and it feels like a spa experience every time. Best place to pamper yourself. read more

I was in need for a pedicure and found this place online. I called and they were able to get me in and were very friendly so that's why I'm giving the three stars. The massage was great but I didn't pay for a longer pedicure or extra massage and my pedicure lasted and hour and a half! Not OK The girl had clipped my cuticles down so much my toes hurt the next day. I've never had anyone cut so much skin off or take so long on my feet. The quality of her paint job was ok. Definitely not the best ever for what I paid, let alone and extremely long pedi. I was so excited by the good reviews but I'm not going back. Too much cuticle cutting. Although I haven't actually been to Polish'd (yet!) I am motivated to write a review simply based on their quick and sincere responses I got when shopping for a new technician in my area. I messaged on Yelp and got an immediate reply that someone would call me when the salon opened. On the follow up phone call Dasha was very knowledgeable, polite and honest about a service they do NOT provide. And to top it off she referred me to someone in her area (not in her salon) who does the service I am interested in. I so appreciated the integrity demonstrated with this interaction. Let me start off by explaining my 2 stars. My first visit here was great, solid 4 stars. My most recent visit, so disappointing, solid 1 star. Therefore, I am leaving this 2 (2.5) star review. What I loved about this place during my first visit was the attention my nail technician (I believe her names Kristen) gave when she was shaping/cleaning my nails. The shape was exactly how I wanted it and my nail beds/cuticles felt super clean. Coming in with just as high of expectations during my second time, I was very underwhelmed and disappointed. This nail technician did not provide the attention to detail that I had hoped for. I took one look at my nails after shaping and was able to see right away how out of whack the shape was on a few nails. My cuticles were not well-trimmed and the mini massage they offer at the end was not relaxing and was nothing more than an arm/hand rub. For a place that strives for quality service, I do not think this kind of extreme inconsistency is not acceptable. What compelled me to write this review was the quality of my manicure. Given how expensive a gel manicure is here ($40), I really am upset that the edges of my manicure are already lifting (as shown in picture). I love the ambiance and their color selection, but to have this problem less than TWO days after getting my nails done...it just isn't okay in my opinion. (And in case you were wondering, I didn't do any rough hand work that would cause my manicure to get messed up this quick) I don't think I would be as upset about this, but during my manicure session I felt very unattended to as well. I wasn't offered a warm neck towel, which I was offered last time. When she didn't offer it, my first thought was "it's so hot today, maybe they aren't doing hot towels." Towards the end of my session, I look over to the lady next to me and she was being offered a neck towel... Long story short, 1. Love the ambiance. 2. Very disappointed with my manicure (during the session & afterwards) 3. Quality of my manicure not living up to how much $ it cost me, as it can be seen in the edges of my gel manicure lifting/coming off TWO days after. read more

I went there today (5/14/17 - Mother's Day) and the staff pampered all five of us! My daughter treated me and my 10 year old granddaughter to a pedi/mani, while she got a pedi. Also with our group was my daughter's mother-in-law and her daughter. My tech was Morgan and her and I gabbed it up and had a blast! My toe nails and fingernails look the best they have ever looked! I highly recommend that you ask for Morgan when you book your appointment. By the way, it is by appointment only, but I do believe at times they will have walk-ins and if they can accommodate them, they will. The best thing about this place is they do NOT do acrylics and so there is no smell. I don't go to nail salons for this very reason, but my daughter assured me I would not have to wear one of the masks and she was right! I could actually breath without coughing! They offer you a complimentary glass of wine, juice or water while you sit on your throne being pampered. The place is clean, well-maintained and is located directly next to CVS. *UPDATE* the owner of the salon called me and was very nice and listened to all of my issues and was upset about my experience. she offered i come back in for a redo, which i accepted. today, i went in and the complete OPPOSITE experience with a different manicurist, Tyla. she was warm and friendly from the second she walked up and we chatted the entire appointment. she did a much better, more caring job while doing my cuticles, the scrub, the massage, and most importantly the polish. my toes look perfect now and i couldn't be happier. i would post new pictures but i'm at work now with tights and closed toed heels on lol but she more than made up for the bad experience so i had to come update this asap. i would go back to Tyla without a doubt i rareeeelyyyyy write bad reviews, but i'm too disappointed not to. i came in today really excited, given my birthday is in a few days and i'm going out of town tomorrow. i wanted a pampering pedicure as a treat to myself before leaving, and wanted to try somewhere new that could maybe do more pampering than where i usually go. i came in at 12:55 for my 1 o'clock appointment and saw one woman doing a customers nails and no one else. i stood there looking at them but they just continued talking after watching me walk in. i waited but she didn't say hello or greet me at all. so i already was feeling bad but i began to just look for a color i wanted. finally, the woman says, "so do you have an appointment???" ... no hello. zero kindness. i said "oh yeah i do at 1." she says ok one min. then another woman comes out and says "you'll be right here i'll start the water" and leaves again. just zero friendliness. once the pedicure started i was left feeling uncomfortable and unimportant the entire time. she didn't speak to me at all. made no effort for any kind of small talk. she never even asked my name or introduced herself. i never even got to mention that this pedicure was for my BIRTHDAY. i got a pina colada pedicure that i thought would have a nice, long massage since it's $40 and i pay $30 other places for specialty pedicures w extra massages. i timed it and she lightly massaged each foot for 2 min each. i get better treatment everywhere else! then after painting, i see she's about to put top coat on even though the big toes are visibly uneven w large see through spots on them. i had to ask her for another coat on them to even it out. she does it and then just does top coat. end up paying and still tipping 18% like i always do and leave. i see when i get home my cuticles weren't done well AT ALL there's so much extra skin around my nail, the polish wasn't placed well or brought all the way to the edges of my nails, there's unevenness and texture in them, you can see the clear coat because she didn't start it at the cuticlebeyond disappointed and i was SO excited. my boyfriend just said, "they look like they did them yourself" read more

Very stylish and clean. Got gel manicure and then my eyebrows waxed a couple days later. The manicure was excellent and I enjoyed making small talk. However, the eyebrow wax left room for improvement. After the wax I didn't have the heart to tell her that I could see multiple hairs that she left behind (so I just went home and finished the job) then realized the redness wasn't going away. The next morning I woke up with strips on my eyebrows where the wax pulled off my skin. I swung by the nail bar (because it was in my way out) to show the technician and if she could do anything to help. She just told me to put aloe on it. Then I asked if she had any (just moved here and all my belongings are in a container still) and if she could put it on me. While she did put some lotion on it, it stung and she gave no apology for the burn/ skin ripping. I've had much better waxing at nail salons that are 1/2 the price.
