NOT HAPPY and here is why! They are STEALING TIPS!!! A customer places an order with EZCater for a Modern Market delivery. Customer pays EZCater, EZCater pays Modern Market. Modern Market calls DoorDash to make the catering delivery. On all EZCater orders for Modern Market, there is an automatic $25 Restaurant delivery fee that is charged. Additionally, when placing the EZCater order, customer can add a tip specifically for the driver. Customers are led to believe they are paying the DRIVER a tip but that is not what is happening. What Modern Market is doing is NOT giving the tips meant for the DELIVERY drivers. They are essentially pocketing the $25 delivery fee AND the tips for the DoorDash drivers. I don't believe this to be fair or an ethical business practice. I am asking Modern Market to be fair & adjust business practice giving the DRIVERS who deliver catering 100% of the tips when using EZCater. read more

I had the pleasure of trying the new Fall/Winter menu for Mod Market and I was blown away. My favorite item was the truffled potato pizza. It is not something I would normally have gotten, but after tasting it, I would definitely go back to get another. The second fav was the curry salmon bowl. Not only did it look beautiful, it tasted exquisite. The salmon was tender and flaked well. The curry was a light in flavor to not overpower the kale. Great dish! Ordered a quick lunch or breakfast here a few times while staying at a nearby hotel and it's great for an easy, healthy option. I've had the everything toast, their blackened chicken thigh bowl, the pearl sugar waffle, and the steak plate with sides on my visits and the meal is always a fast and solid experience (which is exactly what I want). My slowest experience here was during the lunch rush when they were completely backed up on online lunch orders (including lots of GrubHub ones it seemed) and even then the experience was pretty smooth. I do find some of the sides to be less worth it than others - roasted veggies were great, homemade chips were lacking, but overall I don't think you can go wrong if you need a lighter option in this busy area! read more

I lean toward one of the set bowls and a side salad. The emphasis is on healthy choices that taste great. Prices are reasonable. Step up the counter and order away. They'll give you a pager to take to the table, but a server will usually bring you what you need if it's not too busy. Other than wine, you'll get your own drinks from a machine and clear your own table after your meal. There are bins to separate your utensils, trash, plates, and glassware. I love the house wines that are a cheap three bucks with your meal. One thing to keep in mind about this location is the location of the drink station. It's all the way in the back of the restaurant. That's generally not a problem, but if you are dining alone make sure you take your valuables with you and don't leave them on the table. read more

I ordered the BLT+A sandwich, along with the Summer Cobb salad (which I believe is seasonal, so get it when you can). The whole thing was executed perfectly, and comes with their house-made kettle chips, which are generously seasoned, very crispy, with a nice kick (though not overpowering). The salad was crisp greens, with strawberries, radishes, and a variety of other refreshing elements, and was big enough to divide among three people. I was extremely satisfied with the meal. The next time, I ordered the BBQ Pizza, and the Farmer Salad. The pizza was just a bit bland, but still absolutely delicious (as I expected). The salad, once again phenomenal. I absolutely recommend this place. It's great if you're looking for a quick (but delicious) meal! Decent spot on 16th street mall to get a more healthier option on lunch time. It's a cross between fast food and a sit down. As someone who counts their macros, this place is pretty good for listing everything you're eating. It also prints all the information on the receipt so you can log it later (If you log your food). It really opens your eyes to what you think is healthy vs what really is healthy. I also love that they have a rotating menu based on seasonal options. This last time I was in I got the Heirloom Rice salad (May 2017). It is a must! It was a bowl of rice, peas, roasted chicken and sweet potatoes. It was drizzled with smoked crema and absolutely delicious! It was a variety of flavors in every bite.
