Sometimes, the word "healthy dining" can be a turn off for those of us in the hungrier population. Visions of boring salad bars and uninspired dishes rush through my Italian head most often when I hear this term. But at Modmarket, even the heartiest of appetites will not be disappointed! Their "personal" pizzas are gigantic, but because of the thin crust and wholesome ingredients, the calorie counts aren't nearly as high as you'd expect. And yes, the nutrition information is listed on their menu for each item which is super helpful. They also have sandwiches (which look nice and big) and many salads I can't wait to try. I've had the BBQ pizza twice now and I can't stop thinking about it. The Boylan diet cola is the best diet soda I've ever had, hands down. I've also tried the curry split pea soup which was delicious. The staff is super friendly and though it's pretty new, they seem to be getting over their learning curve very quickly. Prices are comparable to other fast-casual dining spots in the area. The layout was slightly confusing, with three different places to place an order, pay and pick up. After the first time you've gone through though, it's just fine. I'm really excited to have this spot right next to work and have a feeling my co-workers and I will be visiting often! Bearing both a name that evokes a '70's era furniture store and a location that might host the same, Modmarket did not jump out at me. It's tucked away behind other restaurants in a tiny strip on busy Colorado Boulevard. If you miss your turn, you're not likely to go back, and that would be a shame. The food here is really fresh and really good. I had the Wintergreen salad, with mixed greens, roasted potato, walnuts, apple slices and a honey-herb vinaigrette that was tasty, if a little less than satisfying as a meal. Luckily I also chowed down on my daughter's cheese pizza, which is a generous portion of half their regular pies. The pizza was the real surprise, with a nice thin crust baked in a legit pizza oven. I think this place should call itself 'Excellent pizzas and really good salads', which might be a better description to bring in hungry people off exhaust-choked Colorado Blvd. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because it was only my first visit, the salad wasn't quiiiite worth the dough, they forgot my side of broccoli, and didn't have the Big B's juices advertised on the menu. My mom was in town and she found Modmarket on Yelp. I can't believe it took my mom to bring me to this ultra-hip, upscale version of Panera. We decided to split a half salad and a sandwich. When the Mongolian salad arrived, Mom asked them if it was a half size because it was so big! I loved the slightly spicy dressing and the flavorful tofu (yeah, it can happen!) I was initially drawn to Modmarket because of its use of "real food" ingredients and customizable food options in a real-restaurant setting with a fast-casual-food approach. Lots of options coupled with the fresh and high quality ingredients keep me coming back. Modmarket is cleanse friendly and accommodating to allergies as well--every ingredient is listed and they're happy to make (reasonable) substitutions as needed. Their pizza is really good, both GF and regular, as are the salads and sandwiches. I've yet to try a homestyle plate and I'm not a huge fan of the soups I've had, but all in all, the menu is filled with delicious options and even the pickiest eater could find something to eat here. read more

I've been here twice, the food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. My favorite thing is there build your own salad where you pick you lettuce meat and then 5 things from there large options. I personally think there chicken is some of the best I've had. Their food is mostly organic and free range. The prices are great, and I like how many tasty options they have. I visited the Modmarket today after reading their reviews on Yelp, and it did meet my expectations. I ordered the Thai chicken sandwich and a balsamic side salad. The sandwich hit the spot, with the right amount of spice, set off just right with the cilantro leaves and cucumbers. The customer service was excellent. The young man that took my order greeted me with a smile, asked if there was anything else I needed, informed me about the coupon on my receipt which can be used for $5 off breakfast during my next visit, and order came out in a timely manner. read more

There's nothing I love more than fresh, savory, healthy food, friendly service, and open spaces. This little place has it all. I had the gluten free kale and crimini mushroom pizza with a super salad. The GF crust was crispy--I've never tasted better--and the ingredients were flavorful. The salad was fresh, not a wilted spinach leaf in the bunch, and the superfoods were complimented nicely by the house vinaigrette. I am so glad I'm in town for three days--I plan to come here twice more to sample more of the menu! Have been coming here for a while. Their pizza is always a hit or miss. Today it was a huge miss. They also discriminate against people who come in and smell like cannabis. They fail to realize that there are several dispensaries near them and people who work at these places enjoy eating at Mod Market. Decided to give Mod Market a second try last night for dinner. We walked in and was greeted by friendly staff and we walk up to the digital menu once more. This time the server prompted us as we were trying to read the menu that they run out of certain items on the menu. An improvement! at least now they stop me before I finish reading and not be dissapointed when they did not have something. We ordered a cup of Green Chicken Chili, a Thai coconut salad, 2 sandwiches and a drink. Being somewhat experienced in the weird flow of how to order food we were able to get what we wanted faster than we did the last time. The one thing that I was very confused was when we ordered our salad, the server asked us did we want "side" or "regular", he said it so fast, the first reaction was to just go with regular, but Beware "Regular" = Large in mod Market terms ( a giant plate of veggies). I did not realize they had sizes the last time and ended up with a giant plate of salad instead of a light dinner side salad to go with the other food. The food was prepared fairly quickly, and we dug in to our food. The Thai coconut Salad, was tasty but I think it was lacking something, the salad was described with the following ingredients; chicken chunks,salad, dressed with curry, coconut milk, and mango. The taste was more rich coconut curry than mango, but I think the salad could be better with some chopped peanuts! like most thai dishes. I think that would enhance the flavors of the salad. The sandwiches were good, both my boyfriend and I enjoyed the sandwiches very much, the bread was toasty and the sauce was all good. The soup though did not redeem itself from the last trip's leek soup. The green chili tasted very very similar to the leek soup, it was green, with potato chunks, some chicken this time, and very thick. This green chili did not taste anything like any green chili I have tasted, it was overloaded with Thyme. The thyme was so overpowering you could not taste anything else. I think on an overall I give Mod Market another star, because they did improve from my last experience. They are a somewhat expensive for the type of food they serve BUT they are organic, I think I would compare them to Whole Foods food court. ModMarket has good foundation, I just feel that they need to improve on service (For example, don't be tapping cheese or olive oil containers on my table without saying anything. ) and most importantly the quality of some of the food. This place is one of my favorite places on the planet. I love EVERYTHING - their salads, sandwiches, pizzas, brownies... Everything is always so fresh and delicious, and the staff is always as kind an accommodating as can be. Even we we take forever to look over the menu and decide! But my favorite thing has to be their Facebook page. Whoever runs it is always giving away food or deals, and will always comment on any wall post you make. I am a regular at Modmarket on the 16th Street mall, and I really enjoy their big and healthy salads, especially the superfood salad and the flatiron steak salad. However, today I went for something different and ordered the Chipotle steak sandwich to go. After starting to chow down on the sandwich in my office, I bit into something very hard and ended up pulling a TOOTHPICK out of the middle of my sandwich. This is DANGEROUS. I could have choked on this toothpick and was in disbelief. I called Modmarket to tell them what had happened and the manager said that he would bring it up in an employee meeting. That's it. No offer to make it right, return my money or give me a free meal. Anyway, today's experience was terribly disappointing. I will also add that, whenever I order salads at the 16th street location, the cashier always asks if I want the dressing mixed in or on the side. I always respond that I want the dressing mixed in. Despite asking this question, (1) the same cashier always pressures me to change my dressing to the side; and (2) most of the time, modmarket gets it wrong and serves the dressing on the side. I agree with some of the previous recent reviews...used to be a favorite lunch spot of mine, but lately I have either had my order come out wrong and missing items and/or had sub-par customer service while placing my order. The wintergreen salad is my favorite, but I was in a rush today and didn't check my box before heading back to work. They used the wrong greens, there were no potatoes at all, and it seems to be a half-sized potion in a full sized box. Don't have time to go back and get it fixed, nor was I given my receipt to try and get a refund later on. Very disappointed. read more

ModMarket is a solid choice for casual dining in Glendale. Personally, we prefer to come here when we have the buy-one-get-one-free coupon that comes in the monthly coupon mailer for our neighborhood. For the price, we expected heartier flavors, but the food is fresh and the choice of toppings make ModMarket interesting (fig pizza, anyone?)...and the coupon makes it very worth it!! :-) From their own website - "We try and stay healthy by making our sauces from scratch (no preservatives here) and keeping things like cheeses and meats on the lighter side." The cheese is like little dollops of melted gooeyness spotting the pie. I did not expect this, at first, being used to cheese spread evenly over a whole pizza. I have only eaten the pizza (M'Rita + chicken), because once I find something I like, I tend to stick with it. I would like to go back to try the Arugula Mozz sandwich and the Thai Coconut salad another reviewer mentioned. - My boyfriend likes the Boylan's soda machine. - The employees have only ever been friendly and helpful to us! - I like the nutritional information on the receipts. - We have only been to ModMarket on Sunday afternoons. Modmarket is a much appreciated treasure! Since going organic and gluten-free, my choices in dining out or grabbing a quick meal are really slim, so I was certainly doing the "happy dance" after my first meal at Modmarket. It's become a weekly pleasure to order the Flatiron Salad (tender Meyer Natural Angus steak, roasted potatoes, carmelized onions & gorgonzola over mixed greens), or the chicken plate (Red Bird!) with those marvelous, seasonal side dishes (love the brown rice pilaf). The roomie is hooked on the gluten-free Pepe pizza and green chili. The food is healthy, high-quality, fresh and less expensive than Mad Greens. ALL HAIL THE ROCKET EGG! My first time coming to ModMarket, I ordered a Rocket Egg sandwich and a coffee. Every subsequent time I have come to ModMarket, it's been for a Rocket Egg and a coffee. The eggs in the sandwich are perfectly cooked, just the right amount of gooeyness in the yolk. The aoili and tomato give it a heavenly creaminess, and the arugala has the perfect bite to cut through the richness of the sandwich. All on a wonderfully crunchy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside ciabatta roll. It's a perfect meal within itself, keeping me perfectly satisfied until lunch, and I have a pretty physically demanding job! I thoroughly enjoy the nutritional facts printed on the receipt. And when you bring your receipt back, you get 10% off your next order. I keep telling myself I'll try something different each time I go, but what's the use? The Rocket Egg is my jam. read more
