With COVID going on, they met my high expectations to follow all the procedures. This was my first time coming here. Was a bit nervous but the the receptionist was super friendly and made me feel super comfortable. I brought my dog for moral support but they don't allow dogs in the tattoo station so I had to leave my babygirl with the receptionist but she as well as everyone else was super understanding and loving towards her loud chihuahua self. As for my tattoo. I had Chris as my artist. Super good vibes from the beginning. He was super kind and patient with all my adjustments I wanted to my tattoo and questions. Walked in yesterday to accompany my friend as she was getting a tattoo by D (he is amazing and literally worked with her for 2 hours to get the perfect design). First of all, they were playing Mac Miller (old and new). He's my favorite artist so I knew this was about to be a great experience. I decided to add myself to the walk in list and I waited about hour and a half to two hours to get tatted by the lovely Rae. We discussed my idea, she designed it, then did 2 rollerskates on both of my feet. I love them so much!! The vibes and ambiance are perfect. All the artists are nice and incredibly talented. The fact that this place is 5 minutes away from me is dangerous lol. Can't wait to come back for my next one. Oh yeah and Cody is cool too I guess. ;D read more

I've never left a bad review before but genuinely my experience here cost me so much money and was potentially dangerous. I've never had piercings before and wanted to get my lobes pierced- I was super candid and told them I didn't know anything about the process. They were friendly and took me in as a walk-in. I don't remember the piercer's name but I think he mentioned he's the main tattooer? Regardless, he led me to a wall of earrings and told me to pick any. I asked what he recommends and all he said was something small. I picked the smallest earrings I saw that I thought were cute, and he said they were good to use. I have attached the picture of them below but not only were they butterfly backs, they were also coated black which can chip off and mess with healing. I didn't know they were dangerous until 8 days after the piercing, when my ear was swollen and I complained to a friend who knows more about piercings. I understand I picked them myself, but MULTIPLE times I mentioned I didn't know anything about the piercings and would not know what was safe. As a professional, the worker should have known better and should have warned me. I went to some other piercing shops to get second opinions, and both locations I went to said the same thing-- that what he put in my ear was dangerous and should be swapped immediately. I ended up getting them swapped elsewhere for smaller, flatback, titanium earrings, and within the day my ear was no longer swollen. The whole endeavor cost me $180 because I had to pay $90 here and then $90 to get them swapped out. Also, after I described the experience to my friend who knows more about piercing, he was suspicious of the health code regulations. It's been over a week, and I wasn't super paying attention to what the guy was doing so I can't say for sure- but the process I remember does not match the standard practice my friend described. I do not remember him wiping my ear with any disinfectant, nor using a tooth-pick with ink (which is what my friend said is generally used to create the marks?) I don't wanna say for sure its a violation because I would not know the details and it's been a while, but if you sort by negative reviews I'm not the first person to point this out. read more

Mohave Creative more than exceeded my expectations, as someone who received their FIRST tattoo. From my initial inquiry (and I asked at least 3,000 questions), to the tattoo experience with my artist (Blue), I was more than appreciative and impressed with the level of patience and professionalism this staff displayed. Every staff member I interacted with was very cordial and caring. The shop was spotless- every surface was constantly cleaned and sanitized by every employee. The area I wanted my tattoo was definitely a sensitive area; I expected it to be a painful/uncomfortable experience. However, due to Blue's careful and skilled hand, I experienced very minimal pain. In addition to his charismatic and professional demeanor, Blue is an extremely skilled artist. He is the newest addition to Mojave Creative and has over 10 years of tattooing experience. He did not finalize his design until he knew that I was completely satisfied with what he had drawn. I cannot emphasize enough my appreciation for his attention to detail, and to my comfort throughout the entire process. Although not very painful- I did need to move around a bit towards the end, just due to my own anxious nature from sitting still (and not to mention I hadn't eaten anything all day... oops!). Blue was EXTREMELY patient with me. He even brought me a couple of juices and some candy. He let me catch my breath, and went right back to work. My tattoo itself (black line rose with stem, leaves, and thorns) is absolutely gorgeous and has the CLEANEST lines. It came out far more beautiful than the reference photo I initially showed Blue. Once it is healed up, I'll be sure to post a photo. I state with absolute sincerity that I could not recommend Blue, or Mojave Creative, enough. It's already my third session and Johnny still hasn't finish my tattoo. I have wasted time and money. It's not fair that he has me sitting for 8 hours each session and can't finish my tattoo that's a total of 24 hours of me sitting on the chair. He charges me what he works, but I stay waiting a long time sitting on the chair. He gets up to work on other stuff for his business or be on the computer that doesn't relate to my tattoo. He makes me sit for 8 hours and maybe works on my tattoo for 2 to maybe 3hrs. I totally understand that people need breaks, but not hour breaks. He talks to his friends or just gets on the computer just web surfing. At least compensate for my time. But every time I try to reschedule he charges me more for the hour rate. We started at 300, then 350, then he is going to charge me 400 and hour. If you haven't finished a tattoo then stay in the same rate. Very disappointed, I need to find someone to really finish my tattoo now. I can't believe I paid over $2000. I debated a long time leaving a review but it was too much. Jason was my tattoo artist he studied under Johnny ocean and he's amazing my pink butterfly he highlighted with purple and white and he colored it so amazingly and he's like a straight dude and he can do coloring better than anybody I've ever seen and also the saying that he put over it when it was done was called the governor and it really really works to keep the color like popping and all you have to do is leave it on for 24 hours take that one off and then put the second one on for five days and then boom you're done it's totally heal. I came to Mohave Creative to get a butterfly tattoo! Marlee, the manager matched me with my dream artist Villano! I had a rough idea of what I wanted and Villano helped bring my ideas to life. He was so responsive via Instagram. The shop was also incredibly communicative and helpful. We had to reschedule a few times, and the process was super easy. The day of my appointment everything went super smoothly. I showed up and checked in and we were ready to go! Everyone was masked and spaced out due to covid. I felt very safe! Villano made sure I was comfortable during the process. I was free to take breaks for water/bathroom. The finished product was incredible. It is definitely my favorite tattoo I have so far. I am seriously not one to write yelp reviews -- this literally my second one ever -- but I had to come on to express my gratitude. A little background: I got a spontaneous piercing at another piercing studio, and I immediately realized the piercer had messed up and subsequently tried to gaslight me. I ended up leaving that place, and remembered that I had seen Mohave multiple times because I live nearby. I decided to just walk-in and inquire about what they recommend. First of all, I'll start by saying how nice this place is inside! The decor and vibe were so intentionally curated. Its a big place, and super clean and organized overall. I was welcomed by Johnny, who I didn't know was the owner until the end of the visit, but he was immediately super friendly. I explained what happened and showed him the piercing and asked for his general thoughts. Though the internet had told me to let it heal completely before trying to fix it, I had a feeling that wasnt the best idea given it had only been a few hours and there might still be room to correct. I'm so glad I decided to just come into this place. Johnny is so knowledgeable, that was immediately clear, which put me at ease. He informed me about policies/laws that were violated at the other studio I had gone to (which I wasn't aware of at the time), and consulted about the best approach for healing vs fixing the mistake. I also really appreciated how he was willing to just chat with me and offer me a solution that catered to my priorities versus immediately trying to sell me on something. He offered to fix it for me, and was also willing to repierce with the earring I already had when I asked if he was able to do that (but we then realized that the previous person had also pierced with an inappropriate backing). Johnny then offered to throw in the jewelry free given I had JUST paid for jewelry a couple hours before. I thought this was so generous and thoughtful. He fixed it up super quick, was super professional and thorough, checked with me every step of the way and was really informational all along. Overall, I cant express enough how appreciative I am and how happy I was that I decided to stop by. It's clear this place has a customer service focused approach. Add that to quality and the added bonus of how cool the space itself is. A big shoutout to Johnny! I will be recommending Mohave to anyone I know and I won't be going anywhere else for piercings from now on! read more

This place returned both email and call the same day with different options for design ideas and days/timing for appts. From the start, the customer service was AMAZING! Had a fantastic experience at Mohave Creative. I passed along reference images for 2 tattoos and Dean did an amazing job of adding his own creativity to each. He discussed the sizing, color, and placement of each and knocked them both out in a day (~4.5 hour session). Both tattoos were cleanly done, looked great, and healed perfectly. Dean had great line-work and shading within portions of each tattoo (Ouroboros snake and a lighthouse). The shop was a great atmosphere as well.
