I've been here probably over 20x. The staff is always great. However, the service is very slow. You would think if you purchased a bowl or wrap, it would be an in and out process. However, that's not the case at all. You order your food, wait in the seating area until your number is called and then you go up to tell them what you want. Ideally since the food is already prepared, you would think they'll kinda do a chipotle/cava line but they don't. Also, the food is very good and healthy. Definitely wish they give you a little more rice and broccoli in your bowl. Overall, you definitely should try it. 100% recommend because food is good. read more

I love it when I have the opportunity to write a good, quality review. Momi's Kitchen provides yet another opportunity. This fresh food, Mediterranean inspired restaurant filled a necessary void here in southern Maryland. This review is a combination of 3 visits. Visit #1 occurred during their first week of opening. The restaurant was clean, service was friendly, price point was fair, and most importantly, the food was good, but there were a couple of notable hiccups. You will notice in my photos all of the fresh food options to choose from, which is fabulous. One problem, the preparer cross contaminated the utensils a couple of times. The second issue is, that preparer when preparing my order, imposed his preference when I requested to try small amounts of different flavors. For example, I asked about the ingredients of a certain sauce, then requested to try a pinch off to the side. He stated that it's a good sauce and that I would like it, then poured it over my entire order. Trust me, he meant well, and was probably over zealous with energy from the grand opening. Again, this was week 1 and I decided not to review them while they were finding their footing. During my second visit, which came several weeks later, all positives remain in place, and the issues from my first visit were corrected. There was no cross contamination during my visit, and when I requested to sample different flavors off to the side of my main entree, the preparer stated that the choices are good (tasty), but without pause, she adhered to my request and placed them in the corners of my entree (perfect). My third visit, which recently occurred, was perfect. All positives in all main areas. Additionally, the restroom was very clean. Also, I had a chance to chat with, what appears to be, one of the owners and she informed me that all of the food was freshly prepared in-house. She spoke with such pride and reverence. Momi's Kitchen fits my wheelhouse. I can eat Greek/Mediterranean cuisine 6 days a week. I chose 4 stars because the cross contamination issue is serious business. Momi's Kitchen has a vibe very similar to Mezeh. They use a ticketing system to manage orders, so don't expect a quick run through the line (like Subway). After work, I appreciated the slower pace and only waited about five minutes for service after paying. They have traditional Mediterranean choices, you can customize your meal (again, very similar to Mezeh). I ordered the chicken shawarma platter with tons of veggies and falafel on the side. The platter was very tasty, the falafel was extra dry and lacked flavor. One item I added was very oily. I'm guessing it was the chic peas. The people working there are very nice and the restroom was clean. Overall, it was a nice experience. I felt content while, and more importantly, after eating. I'm happy to see healthier choices in the area and plan to return. read more

Several members of a Facebook group I'm in gave Momi's rave reviews. Cava is taking its sweet time opening here in waldorf so I decided to go ahead and give Momi's a try. The menu consist of chicken, steak, burgers and lamb and some of the sides/ toppings are falafel, veggies, yogurt, hummus and rice. I ordered the steak and my sides were rice, hummus, veggies, tomato cucumber, tomato corn and pita bread. You order your main ( meat) and when it's done they call your number, you come up and tell them which toppings/ sides you want. The one and only con I have is the person getting my sides didn't really listen when I was asking about a certain side. She knew I had steak so she immediately went to the sides that she felt went with the steak. I wanted to have a choice so a couple of times I had to tell her no I don't want that side I wanted something else. It was slightly irritating but not enough to ruin the experience. When I say experience I mean the food. The steak rivaled some of the steak I've eaten at "upper end" steak places in DC. The sides were also delicious. I would have given the place a 4.5 instead of a 4 if I could. I will definitely go back and I'll definitely know what toppings I want. read more

I wanted a salad and decided to give Momi's a try. I've heard nothing but good reviews, so I was excited to finally try them. The restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine so I knew what to expect. The ambiance is very nice! There's plenty of seating and it's very clean. They provide laminated menus on the counters before the line. It's very easy to order....just don't expect Chipotle service. There's so many options on the bar, and they will explain each item if asked. The young man at the counter was very friendly and courteous. He even recommended sauces. Now to the food. It was DELICIOUS! Everything is fresh and well seasoned too. They have so many fresh ingredients to choose from. They also give you complimentary pita bread. I paid $12 for my bowl. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of this place. The setup is very strange and the food was mediocre. The service counter looks to be setup similar to a subway, chipotle or similar restaurants when you walk the line and you tell them what you want on your bowl and then you get your food right there. Instead, we ordered our food, got a number, waited 10 minutes and then was called up tot he counter to tell them what we wanted on our bowl or wrap. I thought that they were preparing my food while I waited, but when they called my number I walked up and walked the length of the counter with the server as I told her what to put on my bowl. All of the items were already made. I'm not sure what I had to wait for and the restaurant was empty. My food lacked any flavor and the sauces were also bland. Inside it was very clean and pretty much brand new. Employees were all very nice. My husband and I ordered the chicken shawarma and the baklava. The man who made me and my husband's platter ( he may be the owner? Not too sure) was awesome! He recommended what toppings we should get. So I went to this restaurant last week and tried it for the first time. I was so pleased at the customer service and how friendly they were towards me, plus the quality of food was excellent. They made every accommodation for my dietary needs. Because I informed that I was in fact that I was a vegan.
