10/10 or in Yelp's case 5/5! There was absolutely nothing to not love about my recent experience with Mimi Sushi. I placed a group order online which can I just say is the coolest thing ever! My biggest problem with ordering sushi to go is they always cram everything together in the boxes despite it not always being for the same person. This was not an issue at Momo! I placed our staff meeting order (everyone got a link and was able to order on their own and I placed the whole order on my end) and arrived about 5 minutes before pick up time. Staff welcomed me and informed me my order would be out shortly, I think I waited maybe 5 minutes passed the pick up time but honestly that wasn't a big deal. To my surprise I was given a box and sent on my way. I jokingly asked my coworkers what all they ordered to get this giant box. The box had individual containers with everyone's name on their box. It was so easy to distribute food! There was also small containers of ginger/wasabi for everyone and miso soup. My other biggest pet peeve is when my good is touching the wasabi or ginger as I don't use either of them. I was so excited to see the presentation here and how thoughtful they were. I ordered a lunch special which was about $12ish dollars, it came with three rolls and we'll worth the money. I can't wait to go back and I will definitely keep spreading the word. read more

Momo sushi has the best sushi in Minneapolis. Lots of their sushi rolls are between $5-$10. The quality of the food is just as good as other sushi restaurants. I've never done dine in but all of my take out experiences have been great. I often order the shrimp tempura roll and California roll. Both are basic but they always taste delicious. Parking is a little inconvenient sometimes - street parking can be hard to find and they don't have a parking lot. Overall rating: 9/10 read more

I just got done with some shopping and it was 2:35. When we got there we were told we had 5 minutes to order, not a problem for us. It's a split time place. I got the April roll, soft shell crab, avocado, spicy salmon, crispy onion. I used very little ginger slice, it would have ruined it. This could be the best I ever had. Basil loved his shrimp tempura standby. A great complimentary miso soup. Even their fresh brewed tea that they sweeten is delicious. No refills but a huge glass. Lucy was our server and just great. Someone else came to check on us and I said I know you want to get out of here so I'll pay now. We were in and out in half and hour. I love this area and want to get over here more often. We actually ate here the very first night they opened! We absolutely love sushi and are so glad Momo has become a staple. Their sushi is amazing and so is the chicken fried rice. I have to order every time. Even if it's to go. The service is always excellent. They are very attentive. I discovered that AMA Sushi has a sister restaurant and decided to give it a try. We usually order the bucket at AMA sushi and felt to give this one a try. The sushi was okay and thought quality was good. I did feel that the sushi bucket at AMA was better in presentation and it looked like in AMA they did more extravagant rolls as opposed to the ones in this bucket. The wait was pretty pretty long and even waited a long time for the salad and miso soup to come. We were seated in the front area and the sun was beaming in pretty hard and it was hard to see the person in front . Unfortunately the location we were in did not offer any curtains or shade so that made the experience not as great. It's hard to find parking for this place so your best bet is maybe getting here a bit earlier than you need to. read more

Their special rolls are creative and their sashimi slices are thick. Plus they have a great menu for any friends or family tagging along who don't like raw sushi. If you're eating in I recommend ordering the sushi bucket for two, it comes with 2 special rolls and the most beautiful sashimi and nigiri! THE CHEAPEST SUSHI PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO & SEEN. Also, their sushi and drinks are pretty darn tasty. Will definitely be back. My grandparents and I came here a few weeks ago and honestly didn't have too much high expectations on sushi since we're from California. But let me tell you, this place blew our thoughts out of the water. The food was super tasty, affordable, and aesthetic! To eat we got the Sushi Bucket ($35) and it came with 2 chef special rolls, a california roll, 5 pieces of sushi, and 9 pieces of sashimi. SO CHEAP and delicious! We also got some individual tempuras to try them and each individual order comes with 2. My personal favorite was the taro, but the sweet potato and shrimp were also yummy. For drinks I got a Lucky Buddha bottle ($3.5) so cute!! But I kept seeing a bunch of other tables get super cool looking drinks (like sake) so K definitely recommend getting some sake. All in all, the drinks and sushi were super tasty and AFFORDABLE. We did not try the Tibetan food, but I will definitely be back to try it and get more sushi! Sushi is typically a very expensive outing. However, this is probably one of the better 'budget' sushi spots in MPLS. First, there is complimentary Miso Soup. It wasn't the best, but since it's free it was amazing. They have brought this out for 3 kids under 5 years old! The fried rice was OK, but my spouse fell in love with the sauce. It's hard to give a full recommendation for it because it was nostalgic to a sauce she got from a discontinued food truck when she was younger. The sushi was bland, and the rice was overcooked. However, we ate for 2 adults and 3 kids for approximately $40. That's hard to beat if you're looking for a sushi fix and don't want to spend a lot! read more

Every time I visit or order takeout, it takes insane amounts of time for wait staff to come to your table if dining in, and when you order takeout, you can expect your food to be ready at least 20 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. I have heard great and positive things about Momo Sushi. Raved and reknowned on multiple articles on being one of the top spots for sushi in the Twin Cities (some claiming it to be the best sushi spot). I have also heard about their Momos (Tibetan dumplings). So, I eventually had to check them out. I ordered: 1) the Tuna Tataki, 2) Seaweed Salad, 3) Half & Half Momo (half pork and half spinach dumplings), and 4) the sushi deluxe (tuna roll and 9 nigiri). 1) The Tuna Tataki was pretty good. Seared thin tuna cuts covered in Tataki sauce. The Tataki sauce was a bit vinegary, salty, and had a slight hit of wasabi. It was a nice appetizer. 2) The Seaweed Salad is literally what it is: seaweed salad on top of spring greens. I love seaweed salad in general so this was satisfying for me. 3) The Momos were spectacular. The Pork Momo had a slight gush of pork juices, then next comes the pork meat flavors. The Veggie Momo (Spinach and Noodle) was also a nice alternative to a meat filled dumpling. Being Spinach, the flavors were more on the simple and subtle side. The Momo skin overall was a good soft and carby texture. It came with a chilli oil sauce on the side to add some heat and aroma. Well done, handmade dumplings. I appreciate the dumplings more seeing the hand pinched creases, and the circle top due to the creases. They were some damn good dumplings and a must get when you come here. They definitely are in the "top notch dumplings" category. 4) The Sushi Deluxe again comes with 9 pieces of nigiri, and a tuna roll. The nigiri came with 4 tuna (2 each of a different tuna cut), 2 salmon, 2 Red Snapper, and 1 tamago (egg). I usually like to order nigiri to get the natural taste, flavors, and textures of the fish. Momo Sushi's fish are definitely good quality. The cuts of fishes I had were more on the delicate side: slight melt in your mouth and soft textures (some cuts more delicate than others). They were all good, but my favorite is definitely the fattier tuna cut (lighter pink color) and the salmon. Sadly they were out of Toro (one of the prized cuts of tuna). First thoughts right after I was done eating? I first felt Momo Sushi was a bit overhyped. Being raved by some articles as the best sushi spot in the Twin Cities, but yet the sushi was more on the simple side (not a bad thing, and again their fish are good quality). When I say "more on the simple side," I mean their selections of fish for sushi is more on the simple side; your usual salmon, tuna, and yellowtail (not much variety in other fish such as albacore). And this comment is not in regards to how they utilize the fish in different ways such as rolls and such. But, I started to understand more as the check came out. All of this food, and the the total was low! The total was only almost $50 (including a beer). At other sushi restaurants, it would easily be way more (another $20+). And that's when I get why Sushi Momo is so raved about. Great quality and delicious food, for a great price. Also, the service was nice. My overall thoughts: I'm with the hype train. Momo Sushi is definitely a great spot for sushi. Their Momos are also amazing and a must get. I'm sure their other food selections are also delicious and good quality. if you haven't been to MOMO in Minneapolis it's a must! The sushi is priced fairly and the rolls are filling. My husband and I got two rolls and chicken hibachi. Our bill was around $40 before tax and tip. The one hibachi meal was so big that we split it. We ended up getting super full and taking half our food home.the staff was quick and friendly. When I worked downtown I would visit their food truck ~ Volcano Hibatchi at least twice a week for their amazing steak hibachi and was so happy when they started their restaurant in NE Minneapolis with a huge menu!! Love taking my family for weekend date days especially in the summer with their large patio right on central in NE. The steak Hibatchi has Such a huge serving I get at least two meals out of it! The steak is huge and perfectly cooked and if you like spice like me, ask for their secret made red pepper oil that takes this meal over the top! I am also obsessed with their momo rolls! I could eat so many so try to save room for rest of meal which is hard. The servers are so nice and I highly recommend trying the sake flight! felt like having some sushi for lunch and my friend suggested we go to Momo since she's been there a few times. reviews were good so I was looking fwd to trying the place out. found some street parking a block away so that part was easy. it was almost 2pm so we were somewhat hungry. the place was pretty busy but we were seated right away and served some miso soup while looking at the menu. my friend ordered the rolls for us and I ordered the gyoza, agedashi, and seaweed salad for us to try. the rolls were pretty good. the seaweed salad was half filled w/ spinach which was ok but I didn't expect spinach as a filler w/ the seaweed salad. the agedashi and the gyoza were good too but not served crispy on the outside. good flavor...just needed some texture. good experience overall. good value and good food. read more

This has been on my list for months and finally able to stop in for a date night. Do not take reservations and mine was out the door but went fast. Service was exceptional. Within a couple minutes our drink our and miso soup came to the table and the restaurant was packed. The shrimp dumplings for appetizers left a little be desired 2/5 would not order again lots for appetizer menu to try. Our rolls came out within 15 minutes of placing order. Great size wish the angry roll had spice/heat to it as advertised it was more on sweet end. Will be back again! read more

The pork Gyoza (dumplings) were good, I'd say 3.5/5, as were the spring rolls (harumaki) 3.5/5. My only issue was the menu says 4 rolls, and I only received 3. When I contacted the business about this the response was a bit non-chalant vs. apologetic. That said, in addition to enjoying the apps, I also enjoyed the sushi rolls and would definitely get them again. Angry Dragon and Spicy Girl (4/5 for both). Spicy girl was a little spicy, but if you can tolerate even the slightest amount of heat you should be fine. Just skip the wasabi (perhaps). So this review is based on my experience with the momos which were a little disappointing. The filling very decent but could use more flavor. The variety on the menu was crazy - so many delicious-looking dishes it was hard to choose! However, I was craving sushi, so I ordered that and it did not disappoint. The sushi rice could have used a bit more vinegar but it was still amazing. I loved that they brought out miso soup right away, along with the water, similar to chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. It was a wonderful touch and delicious, too. I recently moved to the Mill District and I'm so happy I found Momo sushi! The service is quick, the outdoor seating is nice with fire pits to keep you warm, and the food is awesome! I highly recommend the Tibetan momos and any of their specialty sushi rolls. I've tried a few different ones (momo, rainbow dragon, beauty& beast) and they've all been high quality. Momo is one of my favorite sushi spots in the Twin Cities! I appreciate the variety and flavors of their many sushi options, and the prices don't break the bank. I've branched out and tried other menu options a few times and have never been disappointed. For me, though, the sushi is the star of the show. The sex on the beach roll is my all-time favorite. I also like the seaweed salad roll - a cheap, vegetarian addition to add to your sushi order. I mostly get takeout from Momo, but whenever I dine in, I love the vibes of the space. It's a little cramped but in a cozy way, and the decorations are fun. Parking is tricky, especially in the winter. They've got a very small lot, but I've never been able to park in it. I have been here for their lunch menu twice in the last few weeks already. It is one of the best deal in NE Minneapolis for the price and the fresh cuts of fish that you get. I ordered the Chirashi bowl both times I went there because I just love the combination of sushi rice and big fresh chunks of fish all mixed together with seaweed salad and soy sauce. I also ordered their steak bento box which was a great deal. The Tibetan momos came out warm and delicious. The servers here are very attentive and friendly. They have one of the best patio space for being on a super busy street. I can't believe they already have all their walks up for the balcony space getting ready for winter. I am not ready. I still want to enjoy some sun and warmth. I want to come back for their udon noodles. Their menu is just extensive and has something for everyone I am sure.
