We stopped here for breakfast while visiting. The restaurant was very close to where we stayed and had great reviews. Thankfully, we were able to get seated right away. The staff was very friendly and enjoyable and service was excellent during our visit. I was indecisive with what I wanted to order because I was starving and so many options sounded good. I ended up going with the artichoke omelet, and my husband got the western omelet with pepper jack cheese and jalapeños added. I opted for home fries and sourdough bread with mine. The omelets were amazing and filled thickly inside with all the toppings. Everything was very tasty and flavorful. The sourdough was fresh and very dense. I hadn't seen the specials until after I ordered and tried to switch my order, but it had been started already which was fine. Our food came out quick and we ate all we could and grabbed the rest to go. The parking lot is a little confusing at one of the entrances. It's one way only so turn in where you see the cars angled towards the side of the restaurant where the door is. It circles around the back to overflow parking where the exit is (that can look like an entrance). I suppose it could be, but I'd be careful pulling in that way. Reopened with a fresh look and new owners, Mom's Home Cooking impressed me with excellent food, fast and friendly service, and a nice selection of breakfast and lunch basics on the menu. The Greek omelet may have been the best one I've had, and the sausage links and grilled tomato slices rounded out the meal nicely. Mom's Home Cooking is the local hangout for good food and great service. We went after church with friends and family and we had burgers, breakfast and salad. They even were able to serve a gluten free entree and dessert for me, which made me feel very special because I don't get that kind of treatment very often. Be careful though, as Mom's doesn't take credit cards. There is an ATM near the door when you first enter. There were signs up around the entry area announcing this policy so everyone is aware before they order. I subtracted a point for the decor as it may have been a little dated - but it's like going to Mom's house and making yourself at home at the dining room table. I agree with a previous negative review. Very disappointed in the food and service. We were hoping to find a great local breakfast spot that wasn't crowded with tourists. But no luck here. The omelettes were paper thin and made with cheap American cheese. (And you can't do substitutions) The home fries tasted reheated and were flavorless. It's a really cramped dining area, so it's loud and you are seated very close to other tables. The service was cold and unfriendly. I honestly hate to write bad reviews after one visit. You never know if maybe they are having an off day or short handed, but the bad food, poor service and cramped sitting situation. We will not return. read more

Went here on a Sunday morning for breakfast! It's very small inside so getting there at the right time is key! We got there around 10:00, so we did beat the after church crowd. We only waited about 10 minutes to get a table for 7, not bad! We all ordered and got our food in about 15-20 mins. I was impressed by that! I got the Mom's Stack. It had home fries, cheese(it needed to be melted) and 2 eggs which I like over medium. It came with 2 sausage links which were some of the best I've ever had! Also got a biscuit and I asked for a side of gravy. Thank goodness because the biscuit was drier then the dessert! That is really my only complaint, but I covered it with gravy so!! The ladies were as friendly as could be, the restaurant has a very homey atmosphere, and the food is AMAZING!!!! You can tell everything is homemade and cooked fresh to order. That being said, the fruit waffles looked awesome - but I had the western omelette and it was just about standard. The fruit bowl - which for some reason isn't on the menu - was a generous mix of fresh berries, bananas and whipped cream and went well with a mimosa. They don't accept credit cards which is always obnoxious but we knew that going in so no big deal - food came quickly and service was pleasant. I have driven by this place for years and always kept it in the back of my mind that we needed to try. So today my wife and I ventured out this morning to give it a try. It's a small location with minimal parking. As we walk in there is a sign on the door cash only with an ATM inside. IMO that always a red flag to the integrity/operation of a business. The greeter (not very friendly) if you want to call it that took our name and said it would be 10 minutes! So over the next 30 minutes the "greeter" is barking orders at everyone coming in to stay out of the doorway and to have a seat. She is also rude to the staff who is running their asses off getting food out to people. After 30 minutes were next they took 8 other two top and sat them individually at their 4 top table. The barking lady comes over to the area we were sitting and asked everyone f we have ever been on a cruise, we politely said we have and didn't want to sit with anyone. If I wanted a breakfast cruise experience I would take a cruise, not our thing. So Ms. personality gave an annoyed grunt and took 4 people who were after us on the list and sat them at a table. So because we didn't want to sit with others we were passed up. Great integrity and customer experience definitely not worth the waited for this half assed run business!!! read more

The chicken fried steak was what dreams were made of, accompanied by home fries or grits, eggs of your choice, and a biscuit, with a side of gravy. Following my yesterdays bad breakfast I had a much better experience at Mom´s. The place was quite busy when I arrived about a little after 10am. There was a large group of 8 and they were very loud probably not realizing that their noise level was rather annoying. Anyways, I ordered Art´s Hungry Man breakfast consisting of 3 eggs, home fries and bacon and 3 pretty big pancakes and pumpernikel bread. That stuff was great, I shoveled the eggs on the bread and down it went, the bacon was crisp and the potatoes were tasty. I kind of ate with my fingers, sorry for my table manners but the food was really good. As said Hungry Man indeed I was saving the pancakes the last but I only managed to eat one...The rest went into bag for eating later Coffee was forgettable, not strong enough. Service staff was rather slow and my empty coffee mug was unnoticed twice until I asked the lady for more coffee. But it is a good place and I would recommend it and most likely stop there again. They also have waffles, I had seen the waitress carrying a dish containing a giant waffle topped with a mountain of fruits and whipped cream...sure gonna get that the next time. Here is a short reminder, the place has standard set of dressing rules...no shirt, no shoes, no service....so do not come naked :D read more
