We arrived around noon on Sunday and were waitlisted for 45 minutes, but there's plenty of places within walking distance where you can grab a coffee or drink while you wait. And boy was Mom's worth the wait. While some of the options initially seemed over the top, there was nothing that we didn't enjoy. My favorite was the pancake burrito; scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and cheddar cheese wrapped in a perfect pancake with maple syrup. We stopped by here on the way to the airport. It's not super close to the airport, especially when you account for traffic, but we didn't miss the flight. So if you want to have a great meal before a flight, just time it well & you'll be ok! We sat outside in the sidewalk seating. The drinks were great! The pancake burrito was very tasty- it's like a ginormous fancier McGriddle if you can imagine the taste and texture. The pancake was perfectly fluffy while maintaining a crisp texture on the edges and stored all the bacon sausage fluffy eggs well. It truly is a dish for people who enjoy savory and sweet breakfast all in one. My kid opted for the mom's burger which was tasty but she felt it was way too big to put in your mouth so she had to deconstruct it to really eat it. She said it could do without the ham. The salad they gave with her burger was substantial and it cut through the grease of her burger very well to give it balance. I would say my only critique of the restaurant would be that there's no "classic" breakfast platter- my kid wanted just eggs over easy, some breakfast meat and hashbrowns... all of the brunch entrees that had egg were either omelette style or in a vessel like the pancake burrito. The service was amazing and accommodating they were patient and didn't have an issue substituting anything for my child. The drinks were great. My boyfriend got the BBQ brisket, but unfortunately he didn't like the texture of it. However that entree came with Mac and cheese which was divine and sweet potato fries. My friend got a burger as well, and her husband got the burger. The reason was there is a one star minus is because our receipt was charged with three extra drinks when we didn't order any alcohol. So instead of it being $150 it came out to $175. We did eventually sort it out, however it was just that incident that caused a minor inconvenience. Every dish is so creative, and fun, and brings out your inner childhood joy. Must haves and must try are the heavy metal fries with short ribs and bedrock pancakes. My gosh, the short ribs are so tender and pull apart with all their glory. The Cinnaboozy latte was also so deliciously dangerous. The bedrock pancakes were something else too. I don't love pancakes but these pancakes I adore! We also got shrimp grits, waffle taco, and steak and eggs too. Everything was good except the steak was not the best. I tried to put my name down for a group of 5, but I was told that my entire party had to be there to be put on the waitlist - despite the wait time being 30-45 minutes. Since the place gets busy, there are times your order can be forgotten. Two people in my group had to wait extra for their food because it got lost in the shuffle. When I was trying to figure out a nice, fun brunch place for our teenager daughter, I remembered how my husband and I had gone to the Hell's Kitchen/restaurant row location in Manhattan and how we've never gone to the location in our very own Astoria and thought, "Perfect!"
