Pasta was pretty good, nothing super duper amazing. Salad and apps were yummy. Staff is very friendly, and helpful in choosing good dishes. We got the spicy cocktail and it honestly wasn't very good, tasted like a well club drink with no flavor profile. Nice vibes inside the restaurant but it was kinda empty for a saturday night. Good spot if you're struggling for a res, but I think there's better Italian in North Beach.

We ordered the Caesar Salad and asked for the anchovies on the side because boyfriend likes them but I don't. The anchovies were brought out long after we finished our caesar salad. Our pasta we shared was a very small portion and was just ok. It came with clams, but we asked for no clams and it was still the same price. The ambiance was nice.

Service was quick and attentive. Couldn't complain at all :) And my food was deICIOUS! The portions may look small, but I was left feeling more than satisfied and bloated more than ever. The only reason why I wanted more was because it was so tasty, but my body simply couldn't handle anymore food inside :')

This is the same Mona Lisa Restaurant, except now, they've moved across the street. They are right next to the Stinking Rose, which also moved across the street. Musical restaurants. I noticed a lot of that going on in San Francisco this last visit. Many businesses moving around. I made a reservation on OpenTable. So many options: Indoor, patio, or sidewalk. When I arrived, the host was about to seat us indoors, but I told him we made a reservation on the patio. I thought the patio might have been the two covered tables outside, but he walked us to the back. It's a covered patio dining area. He sat us at one of the tables for two in the middle of the room. Italian music was playing in the background. It was warm and stuffy. I had to take off my jacket. Complimentary bread was delivered to the table. It came with butter. I requested vinegar and olive oil. The bread was fresh, warm, soft, and tasty. We ordered a bottle of wine. Waiter only poured the first glass. Afterwards, we had to poor our wine into our own glasses. We both ordered the Cioppino. The waiter provided us with soup spoons but no bowl for the shells. He told us we could use our used bread plates. Okay. The food and wine were delicious, so I would still recommend the restaurant.

Located in Little Italy--there used to be two Mona Lisa locations, but the staff shared that only this one remains. This is the more upscale spot, with cocktails priced on the higher side ($18-$22). Service was great and the ambiance is beautiful. Bread and butter are brought to every table, though you'll want to specify tap water unless you're okay with being served bottled still water. The vodka sauce was really tasty. Overall, it's a solid choice, though I'm not sure it stands out much from other Italian spots in the area.

Wonderful restaurant in the heart of North Beach. Every course was excellent. Our server Federico was particularly helpful with recommendations for courses and wines. We shared the antipasti tower which included perfectly fried calamari, bruschetta, Italian meats such as prosciutto and mortadella as well as other items. Our group all had pasta - the Tonnarelli Al Granchio with crab and scallops could have come straight from Italy. The lobster pasta dish was also perfect. Do not miss dessert - they have a lovely orange tiramisu which was the perfect ending to the evening. Wine selections complimented all of our dishes. Shout out to Federico who was very attentive and provided exceptional service. A return trip in the near future is definitely in store.

My wife and I I walk past here all the time and decided to have dinner last night, and I gotta say... we were more than satisfied with our meal! Great ambience, friendly staff. We ordered the cioppino, pulpo, and walnut sauce ravioli. Every bite was a full kick of flavor! If you're looking for great Italian experience in North Beach, don't go elsewhere. Try this one first. We'll definitely be back.

We came here the 4th of July at around 10pm and it was perfect! Right in the heart of all the fun and delicious! Our server Manuel was great!

We came the night before the restaurant was going to close for renovation for a while. We are glad that we were able to enjoy a delicious meal at Mona Lisa. It was packed. There were pictures of different celebrities who have come to the restaurant before. What an amazing family-owned restaurant in North Beach.

The quality is always on point (you get what you pay for) and the process is easy to preorder. The main thing to plan for is the long wait in line to pick up your preorder. In prior years, I've usually picked up on Christmas Eve and the wait can exceed 90 mins to 2 hours depending on when you arrive - this is the case even when you doorbust at opening time. This year, we picked up on the 23rd and arrived around opening time, and it only took 30 minutes. There are also very high quality pantry goods to peruse and purchase, including pasta, mustards, spices, tinned goods, etc. Onto the meat: I preordered late this year so got 21 day aged prime rib roast (would usually aim for 45+ days), but honestly it was hard to tell the difference. I ordered the roast pre seasoned, cradled and tied for ease and it was very high quality, easy to cook and delicious. Shoutout to the very friendly and hardworking staff at Olivier's - I see yall fighting for your lives trying to control that line every year (lol). Thank you for your service!

It was uncomfortably warm in that area, and we were served lukewarm water, which made for a disappointing first impression. After being seated, it took about 15-20 minutes before our order was taken so it felt like we were maybe forgotten. Since there were seven of us, we decided to order family-style. We ordered the Butcher Board, braised short ribs, Brussels sprouts, truffle Mac and cheese, and the Salmon Provençal after learning they were already out of the branzino. Considering the restaurant had just opened for service, it was surprising that this menu item was unavailable. The food arrived much faster than expected, which initially seemed like a positive. However, after tasting everything, I questioned whether some items had been freshly prepared. The fried calamari on the Butcher Board was cold, and several cuts of meat were cooked closer to rare than the requested medium-rare. The other items were ok and didn't really impress the table. The Salmon Provençal was unfortunately overcooked, leaving the fish dry and dense. It ended up being the least enjoyed dish at the table and was barely touched until the end of the meal. The highlights of the evening were the truffle lobster mac and cheese and the braised short ribs both were well-seasoned, served piping hot, and easily the best dishes we ordered. The service was another disappointment. It was difficult to get a server's attention for water refills, additional orders, or even to request the check. While I appreciated that our waitress comped the birthday dessert, the overall level of attentiveness fell short, especially considering the restaurant appeared to be adequately staffed. Overall, both the food and service left my boyfriend and me disappointed. Aside from a couple of standout dishes, the experience did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately, it's not a restaurant we would return to.

I have neuropathy and walk with a cane, a situation the afternoon staff graciously accommodated, escorting me upstairs in the elevator and allowing me to elevate my feet on a chair. My friend and I enjoyed our leisurely "big splurge" afternoon, with drinks and delicious lobster. When the shift apparently changed, a different employee (the manager?) came to the table, pulled the chair out from under my feet and said it was against restaurant policy to allow this. He was quite brusque. (It's salient to note we were practically the only people in this quite large restaurant, with miles of empty tables around us.) This effectively ended my visit as my feet would soon be numb. My friend had left a bit earlier, so I gathered my briefcase, coat and purse and made my way to the elevator. The wait staff looked on. Nobody offered a hand. A couple of days later I called management and let them know what happened. They said someone would follow up. Nobody did.

We did a walk-in and were lucky to get seats at the bar since it was just the two of us. The staff were efficient throughout the evening and it was hard to justify searching for cheaper parking when the wait could stretch for hours. Reservations were booked months in advance, so I came as a walk in. Although the posted opening time was later, the waitlist began before then. We arrived about 15 minutes before opening and were 10th in line for bar seating, with an estimated wait of just over an hour compared to roughly 2.5 hours for a table. We were able to wait inside and watch the signature tableside service. Their estimated wait time was surprisingly accurate, though the staff called names rather quietly. The dining experience felt a bit rushed as we were asked to place our order before receiving a bar menu, though I personally don't mind a quicker meal. The shaken cocktails were served with the shaker, making one order feel like nearly three drinks. One downside of the bar seating was the padded armrest, which caused our plates to sit at a slight angle. *Green Apple Martini: sweeter than expected but deceptively strong. It had a distinct candy like quality and I definitely felt the effects after finishing the shaker. *Salad: crisp and refreshing, though I would have preferred a colder plate. The dressing was quite light, making it difficult to appreciate the advertised fermented vinegar. The beets were my favorite component, adding pleasant bursts of sweetness. *Sourdough Bread: crusty exterior with a warm, chewy interior. A solid starter, though the butter was fairly standard. *Mashed Potatoes: rich and buttery with a looser consistency. Because of the tilted bar seating, the au jus flowed into the potatoes, allowing them to soak up all of the delicious beefy flavor. *Baked Potato: equally rich from the butter and sour cream. The toppings were generously applied and there were pronounced smoky bacon notes throughout. *Creamed Corn: surprisingly sweet, to the point where it almost served as dessert. Although it looked very creamy, there was only a light coating over each kernel, allowing the natural corn flavor to remain the focus. *Creamed Spinach: packed with smoky bacon flavor. There was a slight vegetal finish, but this side primarily showcased the pork. It held its own surprisingly well against the richness of the prime rib. *Yorkshire Pudding: unfortunately arrived after the prime rib had already stolen the spotlight. Still, it was airy with subtle syrupy notes and made an excellent vessel for the au jus. I only wished it came with its own gravy as well. *Prime Rib: unquestionably the highlight of the meal. This was the most tender and juicy prime rib I've ever had. The beef was wonderfully flavorful on its own and became even more indulgent with the au jus. I usually rely on horseradish to brighten prime rib, but this hardly needed it. The three tiered horseradish selection was a fun touch. The mild was quite gentle, while the hottest version immediately cleared my partner's sinuses. The medium struck the perfect balance. This meal fully justified House of Prime Rib's legendary reputation. If you're visiting with a smaller party and don't have reservations, the bar seating is an excellent alternative despite a few minor inconveniences. As a prime rib enthusiast, I would happily wait again for a meal of this caliber.

I wanted to take her to one more nice place before heading back home. Chef Tyler Florence's Miller & Lux next to the Chase Center in Mission Bay seemed like the best option. Parking was a bit challenging, as the spots across the street from Miller & Lux were five minute passenger loading only after 6pm. So I had to park in the stadium garage, which took about 10 minutes to find a spot and walk all the way back to the restaurant. From the moment we were escorted upstairs from the bar area, the service was top notch. Very congenial and accommodating. More importantly, my mom felt well-taken care of by the staff. They gave us our choice of a central booth or smaller table next to the expansive window overlooking Mission Bay. As we are both light eaters, we decided to share an order of the Filet Mignon and Tableside Caesar. After the soufflé-like bread puff and butter appetizer, the salad specialist rolled up his cart next to our table. He got busy mixing together mustard, Worcestershire sauce, shaved Parmesan, and several other ingredients then tossed it with neatly trimmed lettuce. Finally, he topped each salad with candied Meyer lemon, more shaved Parmesan, thin croutons and plump anchovies. There was also lemon zest dashed around the rim of the plate. I ate each leaf while instead of cutting it. Seemed easier that way. It had a nice balanced taste and was one of the better Caesar salads that I've had. The Filet Mignon was a bit rarer than the medium rare we requested. It had almost an Akami tuna like texture inside, which is not what you'd expect from beef. Possibly some aging broke it down to make it that smooth. They were very accommodating to take it back and fire it on the grill a little longer. It came back with the perfect amount of doneness. The horseradish sauce we added gave each bite a nice cream and spicy kick. We had an ode to the now extinct Orange Julius' signature flavor, orange and cream in the form of a soft serve sundae topped with a sugary macaroon and tart tangerines. It definitely brought back some memories. Thanks to the staff for making dinner for me and my mom a pleasant and enjoyable experience with their hospitality. We were greeted by the sommelier who opened up the wine bottle we brought and also made some recommendations. She also brought over the champagne cart and I started the evening with a glass of the Collet Brut which was crisp and refreshing. A perfect palate cleanser to start off with the appetizers. The complimentary pop over is still one of the most delicious treats ever! It was brought over with a classic butter and a flavored butter that were just to die for. Now of course, the caesar salad is still a must here!! Prepared tableside this is part show, part experience, and full flavor bomb. I love watching the dressing come together and the freshness of every ingredient being used. Just the aroma of the olive oil and parmesan cheese is amazing. The Caesar salad was dressed to perfection and perfectly crisp! Also got the oysters, because they were an absolute knock out the last time we were here. And still one of the best! It is quite literally the cleanest and freshest oyster I've ever had. Our waitress did an amazing job of explaining the whole menu in great detail. For dinner entree, we went with the ribeye, served with bone marrow to split between 2 with a side of the mac & cheese and accompanied with creamed horseradish to give the steak an extra kick. To be honest, that steak needs nothing extra. It is "melt in your mouth" tender and extremely flavor. I love the addition of the bone marrow because it enhances the richness of the steak. The mac & cheese is also very indulgent and rich. We were way too full for dessert so we went with a ball of the espresso gelato and were given complimentary carrot cake bites which were soooo gooodddd. I wish I wasn't full because they're pastry chef is the best! Hands down the place for a 5-star lux dining experience!
