After getting a flat tire early in the day, I called Monro to see if they'd be able to take a look. They said come right over and in less than 20 minutes I was back on the road with my tire fixed. They turned what I thought was going to be a very hectic day into nothing at all. Can't recommend them enough, the two guys that worked with my car were very nice and knowledgeable. 10/10 service and was a very reasonable price! Did not try to upsell me or anything. Went in for an oil change last month and they did it incorrectly. Did not properly replace my air filter and allowed debris to get into my throttle body, so I had to take my car to a dealership to be fixed. They claimed they would send the paperwork to corporate to issue a refund for the issue that they addressed to me after I had explained what happened. Have called and went back 3 times in the past month and they now are claiming that they are not responsible for the damage and bill to fix the issue they caused. Manager acted like he wanted to want to help but ended up saying he and his district manager would likely rip up the receipts and they would not be responsible for the cost because they shouldn't be liable. Overall bad experience here, would have been easily avoided if they did what they said they would and sent the request to their refunds department. Will be taking it up with their customer service department again but am not hopeful for a fix. Would not recommend, look elsewhere. read more

Came in 5months ago with break noise, told us we need to change break and pad. new break and pad changed. after driving just 2000miles the noise came back. told us to change again. break and pad changed again (they even charged us fees for changing a break that's within warranty) and there's still noise. We came back on the same day asking for a refund and they suddenly told us we need to change the caliber, too, and refused to refund our previous cost. They even claimed we refused to change the caliber! Of course we will refuse to be treated like a fool again! Later on we went to another auto shop our friends recommended and they say the caliber just need to be adjusted. Such a pain during pandemic! Everyone please avoid their store. Reply to the reply: Called their customer service twice and they had really bad attitude twice, kept saying I refused to change the caliber. Ridiculous! I went to Monroe on Belmont Street 3 weeks ago to get my emergency brake fixed so that I could get my sticker well I spent two days down there and $1,300 more than $1,300 and my emergency brake still don't work so the manager said give me a couple days and I'll figure out how to fix it and he'll call me back well now it's 3 weeks later and I have no phone call and I have no emergency brake I will never bring my car there again read more

Long story short. We've been coming here for several years to have routine maintenance done on our car. Jay the previous manager was nice and knowledgeable. However he's no longer here and we were very concerned how the service would be affected. Jacob the new manager knows what he's doing and infact we are very pleased with all the work that has been done since his arrival. I moved to Worcester one year ago for school and it was my first time needing a mechanic that wasn't our long time family friend. The guys at Monroe are great. I've talked mostly with Jacob the manager and Jose but all of them seem like great honest people. I get nervous going to mechanics being a young female who knows nothing about cars, but they have NEVER tried to charge me for more than I needed and always explain or show me the problem so I can learn. More than once they have given me a discount on a pricey repair, or done a small fix for free. I send all of my friends here because I trust them. I came to Monro out of desperation despite the record number of one star reviews due to their hours and it nearly ruined my life. I was having axle trouble and needed two new ones. They mentioned having a hard time finding OEM replacements for my 07 Accord, but didn't tell me that they'd be installing an incorrectly spec'd aftermarket axle (which they still charged me full price for). Within a week I heard a clunk and parts falling out with vibration. I go back and they say it was just missing wheel weights on my tire, replace them for free and send me back on my way. With in a month my car was nearly undrivable! I take it in to my usual shop, not only was it the wrong axle but it had came loose and caused $2000 worth of damage to the parts attached!! I should have listened to David's technician who said I was going to be ripped off, the yelp reviews and horror stories of doing business here, and my usual mechanic who knew of the stores infamy. I tried calling both the store and the customer service line. David pushed the blame all on his techs and me and "he said she said" only to give the excuse it's up to his district manager for a refund, which I know I won't get. Customer service hung up on me three times and will not call me back either. Anyone getting work done at this shop should have it inspected by a real mechanic after. read more

We did not purchase the tires from Monro tires but the technicians took their time checking everything over and test driving her car. The tires needed to be re-balanced. DO NOT USE MONRO unless you want to have to return time and time again for the same job and STILL not have it done properly! I took our family's Ford Focus Wagon in for a simple brake job in December (91,015 miles) because the brakes were very noisy and the car was braking poorly. I was told to leave the car so they could diagnose the issue and give me a quote for the work. I left the car and waited three hours and after not hearing back I called to check status. I was told that my brakes were taken apart and in terrible condition and that Monro could not put the parts back together without me buying new hardware. This left me in a tight spot since I was now late with picking up my kids. I had to wait for them to get the part and they now had my car hostage, forcing me to get the repair done then and there. I was upset to say the least and I dished out $444.43 to get "all the brakes squared away." A simple diagnosis and eventual brake job wasted more than half of my day. The three car seats in the back didn't deter the "mechanics" from doing a very poor job. In fact, they must not have even tested them because within the next few weeks, the brakes were squealing all over again. In January (92,625 miles) I returned and inquired about the brakes. Monro "inspected" the brakes and assured us that the brakes were fine and noise was maybe just the breaking them in. By March (95,005 miles), the car was so noisy and stopping so poorly my wife brought it back to have it looked at. We were then squeezed out of $244.17 to clean and adjust the front breaks (which Monro claimed they didn't do anything with at the last visit even though the original visit was to diagnose ALL of the brakes). Then in early April the car was still squealing to a stop. Needless to say I was irate and took the car to Monro to demand they fix it right this time. I sat and waited there and the mechanic took the car out and tried to deny that he heard any noise! Ten the desk guy took the car out and had the mechanic "check" the brakes anyway. They pretended to make some adjustments and sent me on my way. Within 5 days, the brakes are squealing again like I didn't just have them all done! Now I have to file an official complaint and take my car to a reputable mechanic while I wait to hear what Monro management has to say. Several hours of aggravation, $688.60 later and my family is still driving around unsafely thanks to Monro. One would think that doing a simple brake job for a family with three car seats in the back seat would be simple and efficient for the sake of everyone's safety....not at Monro. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO MONRO! read more

Went here when I first moved here, needed my brakes done. I had the parts with me and they were happy to install them. Ended up needing an additional part and they tried to call around for it but the only place that had it was the dealer and the dealer wanted way too much money. I was able to find the part on line for less and they agreed to install that one as well. Most auto places I've been to would refuse to put parts that weren't from their stock on a car but Monro is more than happy to do that. Plus they gave me a good deal on a new tire. They were all friendly and honest. Walked me through what they were going to do my car. Do not take your car to this place. Told me i needed new coils for my car $500+ and it already had new coils, just needed new plugs. Also never installed the center hub on my tire, when i called they claimed it was on when i left the shop. The hub can only be removed if you take the tire off. This place is terrible!! read more

Ordered some tires online and had them shipped to this location to be installed. Showed up at the scheduled time to be informed that they were not going to do the install, because there was only one person there. When I asked why he didn't call me to let me know he said, "it's our policy to let people come in and tell them in person". That's pretty ridiculous. I asked if another of the locations could do them and he basically shrugged. I told him to get on the phone and call them to see. The other location said they could. So I packed the tires in my car and I went over there. Tires were installed after a few hours of waiting(no fault of the location on Park). Then around 5pm I get a phone call from....the first incompetent worker(Danny I think). He asks me what my full name is. I gave it to him and he proceeds to tell me he installed another Brian's tires on my car. LOL. I swear you can't make up this kind of incompetence. So I then had to waste more time to go back and get these tires removed and mine put on. The manager at the Park location was great. He's drowning in a sea of incompetence in my opinion. It's service like this that makes me want to see Amazon get into the auto service business and put them all out of business. I would only go back to the Park Ave location because of the specific manager and his team. They need to fire the guy at the Belmont location. Before you tell me to call you to discuss it or whatever corporate drivel you'll spew. Save your energy. You'll hopefully need it to organize your bankruptcy papers one day. ****Update - (Day 4 at Monro)When swapping my tires out the same employee stripped one of the studs that holds the tire in place. He did not repair it that day and I've now returned for a fourth day. They did not have the stud ready and I'm now waiting for him to go pick it up. I was also informed by one of the other employees that I was partially to blame for not checking the name on the tires when they first gave them to me. How is that my job? He also didn't like my attitude and that I cursed when speaking. This place is the worst. I would never come back and hope to never see them again. Terrible. They'll try and hustle you. Brought in my car to get the brake pads changed, came back a few hours later and the guy told me that I need new calipers and showed me a set of brake pads that were very unevenly worn. I said i'll drive it and see if it still wears unevenly. 2 years later, my calipers are fine. Few days after that visit, I went in because of a rattle in the front of the car. He guy drove it around the block and told me my struts were shot and that he'd cut me a deal and do them both for $1,500. I told him I'd wait and took it to a friend who fixes vw's. Drove it over one bump, and immediately knew it was a ball joint and we fixed it for $100 dollars, parts and case of beer included. Steer clear of these guys read more

Sign says 15.99$ with nothing that's states see employer for more information when I went inside the guy then went to tell me basically that the sign is basically false advertising and his manager doesn't wanna take them off and begged me to call! which I called the manager who was rude and defensive on the phone. The guys in the shop are nice but who ever runs the place is horrible his name is josh and should be fired for being an idiot on the phone contradicting himself over and over. I passed, 3 months later I went to a different shop for another oil change and they did a routine check up on my car as well, showed me my air filter and told me it was in near perfect condition and even if I needed a new one it would only be $40. These people not only lied to me about needing a new one but were also prepared to charge me more than three times the actual cost. Will never go back read more

The mechanic didn't remove the part number sticker from the muffler. A quick search revealed it was easily available for $50, NOT the $500 I was charged because, "you know those foreign car parts." Spent over $1,000 for four tires, balance, alignment, transmission flush and hazard insurance. I went back because of tread wear on 2 tires and was hoping to take advantage of the insurance but the mechanic yelled at me for not having the right paperwork for alignment every 6 months. I had to bring proof twice without success and I am never going back here again, problems with the other 2 tires I bought but I would rather get them replaced at my dealership instead. read more
