And proceeded to give me attitude as if I was wrong for assuming they were open. Sara - It's good to know that the bad experience I had was with the business owner. Do better. Take a customer service class. Or a business class for that matter. Again, I assumed you were open because your office hours said you would be. Yes, you should lock the door, instead of trying to blame the customer for "startling" you during your posted business hours. Obviously the door was unlocked which is how I walked in. I've been on a major sandwich kick and spotted this shop on a list of sandwiches to check out in LA. There were so many great options and it didn't disappoint! We got the Court St and Serentity Now and they were so good! They use Bub & Grandma's bread and the sandwiches are truly masterpieces. We went on a Saturday around 1pm and we got the last two sandwiches before they sold out. Pro tip: order ahead online to secure your sandwich since we saw several people arrive after us only to be told that they were sold out. What a fun little sandwich shop! Popped in for lunch after an errand down the street and we were not disappointed. I got the Jamón & The Giant Peach and my husband got the Tuna Baby. The flavors in the sandwiches were well-balanced and it was clear that a lot of thought is put into that for each sandwich on the menu. My only feedback is that I wish the fruitiness of the peach was a little more pronounced given the name of the sandwich. Perhaps just more and/or riper peaches? Otherwise, these are hearty, delicious, beautiful sandwiches packed with high-quality ingredients. Based on past reviews, it sounds like there were issues with the bread-to-insides ratio in the past, but certainly not anymore! While we loved our sandwiches, the cardamom black tea maybe stole the show a bit for me (but barely!). It was SO delicious. Just sweet enough and just cardamom-y enough. I loved it and so did my husband who is not a big tea drinker at all. Finally, the owners were working the register and making the sandwiches, and they were delightful. So happy to have this awesome sandwich shop in Culver. I love the different combinations of interesting, high-quality ingredients, like the barberries and crispy shallots on the W.L.F. They sometimes sell out, so order online in advance or check on their IG to make sure they're still open. I've tried a few sandwiches now, and the W.L.F. is definitely my favorite. One of the most unique sandwiches I've ever had. The only reason I'm not coming here every week is because it is a bit pricey. Expect about $20 after tax and tip for a sandwich. I finally made it to the shop, ordered one to go and was highly disappointed to find out when I got home that they used PEARS rather than peaches! Incredible place. They have a great menu and they also custom make what you want. I have been going and playing around with different things and today was a big hit for me. They have this incredible bread and really fresh items and everything is perfectly ripe and really great. At They suggested a special mayo from Japan to me today and that with the fresh baked bread was super tasty. They are open until they sell out which means "fresh" !! I would definitely call myself a sandwich connoisseur. This place has delicious combinations with the best ingredients around (and they're super nice!). All of the bread they source is the perfect consistency. The best I've ever had in a sandwich. The cheeses and meats are high quality. Most importantly though, they fill the sandwiches to the edge of the bread. I hate when everything is bunched in the middle! This has sauce across all areas! Really wonderful sandwiches! A little on the pricier side but you can tell they use good ingredients. I had the Yogi Pear and really enjoyed it. They actually have a few vegetarian options and even though I'm quite the meat eater, they sounded appealing to me. It's in between a coffee shop and a bakery. I don't really frequent Culver Arts District even though it's so close to me, but it's shaping out to be pretty cool. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming. I got the tuna baby sandwich and it was so fresh and full of flavor. And to my surprise the cardamom iced tea was the best tea I've had in a long time. Everything was so delicious and fresh. I've tried four of their sandwiches and they've all been great! They made gorgonzola taste good to me!!! I've had the Big Bambino, Yogi Pear, WLF, and Italian Spaniard, and I've listed those from my least favorite (but still very good) to most. They're also very fast, which is great for lunch, and I'd say a good value for the quality and arrangement of ingredients. My one issue, which is just a me thing, is that I'm not a fan of how tough the baguette buns are, as it ends up squeezing most of the sandwich out when I bite into it. I suppose next time I'll see if I'm allowed to request one of the other breads. read more

So far I've had The Giving Tree, Serenity Now and Tuna Baby and each have their own wonderful flavors that made me feel so happy. If you're looking for an incredible vegan sandwich, the Avo-I Am is a must. I would've taken a photo but once I started eating it I couldn't stop. It's hard to find a decent vegan sandwich that doesn't have ingredients full of preservatives from vegan "meats" and "cheeses". But their Avo-I Am is stacked with veggies, delicious bread, and an amazing spicy sesame spread. It tastes incredible. I got sandwiches for my mom and my boyfriend as well.
