Staff was friendly and the shop is small inside. A few counter tops with limited seating inside. They told us you can use the tables and chairs infront of the coffee shop to sit on as well. I have been twice. I got the Big Bambino and the Court Street. The sandwiches are on the smaller side. Personally I like more meat on my sandwich, especially when it's nearly $20 (including tax). There was a slice or two soppressata. The flavor was there just wish there was more of it. The court street is their take on a roast beef, which was dry. Service was great, friendly! Small shop with good seating around the corner. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood and will go back when I'm the area but won't go out of my way to get like Lorenzo California or Bread Head. I visited today and had the Matador's Wife sandwich. I'm not a fan of focaccia bread, and sadly this visit did not change my mind. But I think it's more of a me thing, so if you like focaccia, don't let my comments sway you. Overall, the sandwich was pretty good. I liked the spread and cheese, but found the sandwich a little dry. I took half home and added tomato, Sriracha and sliced peperoncini and it was definitely better. Monroe Place has a rotating menu of thoughtfully composed sandwiches served on Bub & Grandma's bread. It reminds me of Wax Paper, sans the NPR-named sandwiches. Their menu, which is playfully posted on the wall, ranges in price from $14-$17, with a handful of vegetarian and vegan options. I had ordered online for takeout, but they do have a tiny counter and a couple of tables outsides, should you wish to dine there. I am not a big fan of turkey sandwiches, finding them boring, but Serenity Now made me reconsider my anti-turkey stance. With a spicy serrano cilantro spread that had a kick, this was a terrific sandwich, with herb turkey, feta and tomato/cucumber/onion salad for a bit of crunch on Bub & Grandma's focaccia. I don't even like cilantro, but that spread was magnificent. The Dilly Dally - a lemony herby chicken salad with cucumber, celery and carrot on focaccia - paled in comparison. Good amount of counter seating inside, plus a couple of tables on the sidewalk out front. I ordered the Italian Spaniard: I can't decide if I like this sandwich or not. Good flavor from the jamon serrano, mortadella, and soppressata, as well the arugula and dressing. The bread has decent chew on the inside, but the outside is a little too hard for my liking. The manchego cheese tasted good, but they should've used slices instead of shredded. Most of the cheese just ends up falling out. Also, for $16 this sandwich is definitely too small. Came here on a random Thursday and got a bunch of stuff to try. The service was kind and quick and ready to help if needed. The cucumber, mint limeade and the watermelon lemonade both are refreshing and delicious. I then moved onto the serenity now. It's herby and spicy and amazing! The cucumber salad on the sandwich was delightfully crunchy and flavorful. It helped to cut some of the spicy that came from the Serrano peppers. The London Broil was delicious as well as the rest the sandwich. I added avocado and manchego cheese, which I think made the perfect combination. We also tried the Serenity Now, partly because we are both Seinfeld fans, and because it comes on Bub & Grandma's bread. Although pricey, the sandwiches here are AMAZING. I had the Serenity Now and was blown away by the complexity of the flavors. The spicy serrano-cilantro spread did a lot of the heavy lifting, but I'm not mad about it because it's just that good. I can't believe she has staff because if my boss spoke to me like I've watched her yell at them I would simply walk out. It's really so bad I won't be back. Wow. This place is so good! Pretty quiet on a weekday around lunchtime, the person working the counter was very helpful with suggestions. I ended up accidentally ordering the wrong thing (mixed up the sandwich names- totally my fault), but they remade my sandwich which was very kind.
