Their monta were thumb sized stuffed pastries - with a dap of yogurt sauce, a dap of marinara sauce - soooo yummy! However... My fav was their tomato herb soup! The flavor was enticing and aromatic. We always get the monta in HANGRY (biggest) size with the sauces on the side and this time we decided to try their newly added blinchiks. Everything is literally bomb 10/10. This place feels new, clean, inviting, and just classic as soon as you enter through the doors. The space is well lit and simply decorated, and when it comes to food I'm telling you- they've got A Monta- options ;) pun intended. I honestly only go for the Monta so I can't speak to the sandwiches or other dishes, but the Monta dish is delectable- crunchy outer crusted shells and the meat in the center is dusted with herbs to just finish it off perfectly. Choose to have the yogurt sauce on top or on the side, and you must get the tomato sauce over the Monta. The small size is perfect for 1 hungry person or 2 people to share with other dishes. The reasoning for the 4 star in my opinion is that they do not give enough tomato sauce- it was a little too watery for me- I needed it thicker to compliment the Monta bites! I am so glad they are able to expand towards Glendale because If you are familiar with the location then you know this city is culturally and ethnically diverse with those of Armenian, Iranian and Lebanese decent! With that said their motto is "Better than your grandmas- She'll agree!" Manti or pronounced as Monta is a Middle Eastern, European dish which consists of seasoned beef in small squares of dough, pinched at the ends, lined in a tray, baked till crisp finally topped off in a tomato and garlic yogurt sauce. I should've also ordered the their other special the Su Beoreg, a cheese dish or casserole depends on who you're asking. But I think this would have paired well with the Monta. I just had lunch but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try something new. I called in advance and the order was ready in 10 mins, I asked for the sauces to be on the side because I wanted to try each ingredient separately prior to adding the sauces to the dish. The Monta was absolutely delightful, crispy on the out side and very flavorful inside. The garlic yogurt sauce was good unfortunately, the tomato sauce was lacked flavor. I'm not sure if it's supposed to taste like that but it needed some seasoning salt. I personally enjoyed the dish with the sauces on the side, when I added to the Monta it made the dish soggy (But I'm sure that's the way its originally eaten) nonetheless, I would love to come back and try the Beoreg and the Salmon Sando! read more

We ordered the meat monta with the sauces (not on the side) and those sauces are absolutely slurpable...you want to cover the pieces all over with them! The filling was flavorful, the beoreg fluffy and the salad has a burst of brine flavors. Our order was big enough for the two of us (with a medium appetite), so if you're a really hungry pair, I'd order a bit more. Went in not knowing what to expect. All we knew was it had been open ahile, including the pandemic, so we figured it must be doing good food. The menu is smallish, but there's a lot of variety available. We kind of tried to sample a little of everything. First, the monta. As they describe it, it's like a cross between a pot-sticker and a meatball. We were shocked when our order came because they were so tiny. This was not a problem because the order had about 80 of them! They turned out to be bite-sized and delicious. The dough wrapper was toasty and crisp; the meat filling was tender and delicious; the sauce was spcy and very tasty. A major win. The feta cheese bread (beoreg) was very good. Crispy filo dough stuffed with feta and monterey jack was very good, but a little bland. Some pepper perked it right up and I would recommend that at a minimum. Dipping it in the monta sauce didn't occur to me til after we had left, so that will have to next time to try (and there definitely WILL be a next time!) They also had some giant dumpling that were delicious. They weren't on the menu but on a sidewall as pictures. Ask the counter staff for explanations of anything and they will gladly explain it for you. Higly recommended. read more

Best and freshest food. I never leave disappointed! Get the monta, sauce it up with a piece of beoreg on the side. When you finish every single bite of that delicious monta platter you use that piece of beoreg to clean up every last ounce of that sauce. Oh me oh my.. thank me later! I just left this wonderful establishment. Monta Factory! It is where the old Foster's Freeze used to be. Monta Factory has done a wonderful job remodeling the property. It is clean and well decorated. We ordered the Hungry Monta. It was fresh and delicious. It was complimented by the wonderful tomato sauce and yogurt. We also order the Alaskan salmon sandwich and baked fries! What a flavorful and fresh sandwich. It truly is a filling sandwich. It could be near half a pound. You won't leave disappointed. Not sure what the fuss is about this place. Ordered the monta... it s dry over cooked...than the sauces are a joke, water mix with cheap canned tomato soup and yogurt with dry herbs. The soup tasted like water with dry herbs and a spoon of yogurt ! The fries were ok i guess again what s up with the dry herbs... the sandwiches look ok but more bread than anything. This is one of those spots I've driven past countless times. " A cross between a meatball and dumpling " What !? the What?! I kept thinking to myself you need to try this place. So today I did and they didn't disappoint. Everything about my experience was 5 stars. Monta is an Armenian spot as it turns out and as a fan of trying new cuisine I was excited to experience what my Armenian brethren has to offer. First off plenty of parking right in front in their private lot. A spacious and immaculately clean dining room very tastfully decorated in a bit of a modern decor. I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful young man, Aram, who knew right away it was my first time. He suggested starting with the Beef Monta prepared with the tomato and yogurt sauce on top. 2 sizes available the "hungry " and " hangry" ( family )size. Though I'm Big John I went with hungry which was still plenty. Aram suggested a Lahmajo, what is essentilay a small ( 5 " or so ) pizza with some ground beef as a side which i went for too. Jones Natural Sodas on the fountain to boot which I'm a fan of, so got a sugar free cola. The Monta was DELICIOUS !! Small in size ( maybe 2" with a small meatball baked into the open faced dumpling) The tomato sauce wasn't sharp , simple but delicious. The yogurt sauce added a nice dimension to the flavor creamy and sweet but a hint of dill. Of course I had to add some spicy sauce which put it over the top. WOW !! The Lahmajo was tasty on its own but worked better as a tortilla for some Monta taco action! Aram very kindly brought me a complimentary sample of a new menu item, Pilmeni, a minced beef steamed dumpling that was absolutely again DELICIOUS! Really tasty and perfectly steamed, a nice chew but not chewy. I really can't say enough how great my experience was all around. Stopped in here for a quick lunch pick up about 2 weeks ago. Had high hopes considering the reviews, but ended up disappointed. Ordered the small tray of monta to go. The first hint that my food wasn't going to be great was when the the woman who took my order went to a walk-in fridge and grabbed a covered tray- which turned out to be my order. She then put the tray on a conveyor belt oven contraption a la Domino's Pizza. My monta were dry and didn't have any discernible flavor- presumably because they weren't fresh or properly baked. The seasoning was weak and both the meat and pastry were dry. The yogurt sauce that came with was ok, the tomato...soup? was thin and overly salty. I was SO thirsty after this meal and quite unsatisfied. At about 14$ with tax, it's absolutely not worth it. read more

I appreciate that they have a vegan option so that's why there's an additional star but unfortunately it's so very dry and not really enjoyable. The version at Carousel is delectable and so much better. I wish they'd consider a vegan yogurt option as well. When I asked some years ago they said they didn't like the options out there. I try to steer clear of fried and over processed foods, so the fact that everything at Monta factory is oven baked and the dough is handmade, it puts them over the top for me. Prices are very fair. This is an absolutely no frills restaurant with about 5 items on the menu, but they do them well. The monta (aka manti, mante) is the star of the show. Unlike other places that take a shortcut by using wonton skins, this place makes the dough from scratch and it really makes a difference. In addition to the baked monta, they also do a soup version in either tomato or yogurt. Their sou boereg ( Armenian cheese lasagna) is good also. All monta is cooked to order, so it does take a few minutes for your order to be ready, but it's totally worth the wait. Have an appetizer while waiting. You can also visit their sister restaurant in Pasadena, though it's tiny with only two tables on the sidewalk. P.S. I read some reviews saying that monta is supposed to be made with phyllo dough. Uh, no. I helped my mom and grandma make monta from scratch and they use the same dough you'll find here. And I was born in Lebanon, my grandmother was a Genocide survivor. I dont know why everyone is complaining in their reviews because the service and the food was amazing!!! Im super glad we finally tried this place after seeing an Instagram ad on my page. We order the hangry size monta, the cheese beoreg, and had the great opportunity to try their new lahmajuns. (Not sure on the spelling). The monta/manti dish was super unique to them. Ive had the dish at several other places and this one was pretty great! I loved the sauces and yogurt on top and i loved the portions. I also loved how they added hot sauce on the side because Im the type that just needs a little extra something. The cheese beoreg was different. It wasnt flakey, but more like layers of pasta or something with LOTS of cheese. I liked the taste but I was only able to eat half of one because they were super filling and very rich. My FAVORITE was the lahmajuns. Its one of my favorite things to order at any Armenian or middle eastern place. I was super excited when they asked us to try it. They were delicious and the price was amazing! We ordered extras to go too! I think we got like 9 of them! lol. Amazing! The service was so nice and friendly. I ordered the Hungry Monta in a large to go. The website pricing is about a dollar more than what I saw when I walked into the store. The large monta comes with 70 bite size pieces, and if i could equate it to something in size, i would say its about the size of the top part of your thumb.
