I have come to Montis for years and love it for high end comfort food. The rotisserie cooked means are phenomenal and the service is always great! My only wish was that the menu was rotated more seasonally but I guess no need to rotate when your food is that good. The butterscotch pudding is my favorite! read more

My least favorite of the Stark's group. Wait staff was spotty and unorganized. (I hate having to "flag down" waitstaff). Food was average at best and a loud party of people were seated next to us to make sure we heard their conversation about their daily Oakmont experiences with Ethel. Other than that, life is good. We'll skip Monti's from here on out, but continue to see you at the other Stark owned restaurants. read more

This place was delicious! The calamari, the hummus, and the lamp burger were amazing. The whole family enjoyed it and my pug was welcome on the patio too. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I had a lovely lunch this week at Monti's with a friend who is a fan. Lexi, our server, was truly exceptional. She is so knowledgeable about the menu, the wine list and she clearly knows her cocktails. She listens and is very attentive to her guest's needs and she makes one helluva cocktail. I told her I don't like sweet cocktails, and her delicate touch and balance of sweet and sour was perfection. Thanks Lexi and cheers! read more

We will not go back. This was absolutely our favorite restaurant and our entire family was missing it so much while it was closed. Not only did the menu not change very much (and we were so hoping it would because that was always our "only" complaint about that restaurant...the menu got stale), but the prices are now unreasonable. We asked for a Kid's Menu, and they said they don't have a physical menu, even they always had in the past. Instead, the waitress listed off the 3 items they offered, which are the same items they've always had (which was perfectly fine, kids don't want variety). However, my kids ordered the pasta choice and when the bill came, that selection was $16!!!! It's pasta, butter and parmesan, this item was previously $7. My husband ordered the Dungeness crab pasta and both of us thought it was a very bland dish. I had the Ahi salad, which was very flavorful, but at $34 this restaurant is no longer a reasonable place for us to frequent. We feel the remodel has come at a price to its customers. We love all the other Stark's restaurants and will continue to frequent those, but Monti's has lost its touch for us. read more

I always have a wonderful time when I dine at Monti's. The menu is diverse and the food is consistently good. I've only ever come for appetizers and a drink. I've tried the hummus plate, burrata plate, brussel sprouts, truffle fries and deviled eggs. The dungeness crab deviled eggs are to die for! They cost you a pretty penny however, at $3.25 per egg (or half egg rather). The beer menu is limited but they have some unique cocktails. The service is great and for how busy this place gets they prepare your food surprisingly fast. It has a formal atmosphere while still remaining kid friendly and welcoming. read more

Always a great casual and delicious Montgomery village food establishment. They have been open and well for ages! I recommend the Tunisian meatballs and the classic twist on calamari. I love the fried lemon that they throw in the batter. The lamb burger on ciabatta is always a great choice, I recommend cooking it medium. The feta spread and arugula salad makes it bright and fresh. Not a heavy burger but absolutely filling. The stalk up drink was an herbaceous delightful accoutrement to lunch. It reminded me of a twist on gin and tonic but better since it had chartreuse. Overall great place. I have eaten here for the past ten years or so. It's always had a Mediterranean bistro feel. read more

We are new to the area. I'm trying to be fair because we lived in the Bay Area and have pretty high expectation. However, we were really disappointed in Monti's. Great service at the bar. once we were seated we waited 15 minutes before someone checked on us. Had to pour our own wine because we were seen to that infrequently. I had the muscles and Ponce frittes which were not great, no bread and the fries were served in the same bowl as the muscles so became soggy. Husband had the short rib rigatoni, 8/10. Desserts were excellent. service was horrible. Will think twice before coming back, maybe takeout. Such a disappointment compared to Bravas de tapas. The Starks need to look into this, could ruin their reputation as a whole. read more

Major fail. We had dinner for 4 and two of us ordered the pork chop. Your presentation looked beautiful but when we begin to eat it, it just a percent fat and not edible. That was the top-of-the-line entrée for the evening at $35 each, and ruined a perfectly good evening for our anniversary party. We picked Monti's because we are there three 3 years ago and was wonderful then. In theintervening time they have definitely gone downhill. read more

The Grilled Lamb Burger is delicious. The feta cheese and copious spreading of Tzatziki sauce make it hard to maintain a graceful meal but it's so good you don't care if your swimming in it. I probably should have cut it on half first. I ordered it cooked medium, and it came that way, but thinking next time, medium rare. The Grilled Sirloin Burger is equally if not better then the lamb. Depending on your mood I guess. Thick Applewood Bacon and blue cheese are a winning addition to the plumb patty. There was also a "salsa verde" as described by the menu, but I found it to be more of a chimichurri to me. I don't if it was a typo or a tough translation, but don't change whatever it is. Gorgonzola Rosemary French Fries are cooked perfectly and the aioli sauce, that resembles a potatas bravas sauce, is really good. Ask for extra, and if anybody reading knows exactly what it is or is called? Please let me know. One criticism on the fries however, the gorgonzola nor the rosemary leaves stick to the fries, so most of it end up at the bottom, not benefitting the dish. read more

On this beautiful night, this bella noche, we were looking for a place with a patio to enjoy some delicious vittles. Montis was the exact place we were looking for. First off, the staff was so welcoming and friendly. It's been a minute since I have experienced such a lovely, receptive, efficient staff. Kudos to Rebecca and Shane. They both made us feel right at home. The cocktails and wine we chose were perfect. Try the cucumber gin Martini. Perfect drink to cool you off. We ordered the tuna tartare, Dungeness crab deviled eggs and the rosemary gorgonzola fries. The eggs were so good we could've had several more. I had the short rib ragu that would make you cry tears of joy. So good! My husband loved the lamb burger and said it was perfect. We are so lucky to be near this wonderful place with great ambiance and the best service. I will probably become a regular here. read more

My husband and I arrived at 6ish on a Friday event thinking it would be a good early time to get a table outside. There were about five tables open. But then we asked the hostess for an outside table and she said they wouldn't have any tables outside until 9 or 10. When I pointed to the open tables she said "you can talk to my manager if you want". Totally unhelpful. We left and went instead to the Mexican place nearby which was friendly and delicious. read more

Long over due, however this is a Sonoma County must try restaurant. We have been here many times over the years and have not once been disappointed. It is a cozy (fire place), intimate ambiance. Dimly lit, perfect for date night. They offer an upscale menu that mainly offers meditation style dishes. Not to mention, they also have a great wine list. My go to here is the pork shoulder chop. There is not many places that will combine high quality food and substantial portion sizes. When you order the chop, this is exactly what you'll get. See the picture below. Juicy, flavorful and comes with a side of bacon onion marmalade that melts in your mouth. We came here tonight on 'restaurant week' and capitalized on a 3 course meal. The hummus plate, the pork chop and the creme brûlée were mind blowing. read more

Monti's is always a great experience and meal. Their food is to die for, basically, almost anything I've tried here has been delicious. I don't know why it's taken me so long to leave this review because this place is so good. I've been coming here for years and they tend to never disappoint. It is located in an outdoor mall/shopping center but don't let that sway you. The shopping center is very nice with some super cute boutiques and great restaurants. Monti's makes this place a destination. The atmosphere is very cozy, inviting, and well decorated inside. I also love their outside seating. Their hanger steak is so so yummy and tender. Its hard not for me to get it every time I come here for dinner. Their warm spinach salad and crispy calamari are probably some of my favorites as well. But their truffle french fries tho.... OMG :) They are seriously THE BEST truffle fries ever. I am a "fry queen", lol french fries are pretty much my favorite food. Whenever we go out to eat and see it on the menu, my boyfriend and I get truffle fries. Not one place has stood up to the standards of their truffle fries. Most just taste vaguely of garlic but not really truffle oil, but Monti's does it right and they are just fantastic. Everything here is very well made and always has such amazing flavors. I would definetly recommend this place to others. read more

I've eaten here 3 times. Bambie has eaten here 15 times. She likes the place much more than me. I've had 2 enjoyable lunches here with booze drinks. (Full bar pours premium liquor), but the food is not spectacular, and the prices are high. So value score is low. The food is more American than Mediterranean. See the website menu. There is a rotisserie that roasts the chickens, those are good. Appetizer portions tend to be small. The deep fried calamari was okay, it had good batter crunch but the flavor was timid. The bistro-like dining room is dark, adds romance for dinner dates. The real draw here is the good looking staff, pretty waitresses and buff bartenders predominate. Location is Montgomery Village, a 1950's vintage shopping center that has high-end shops, & is kept immaculately clean. A nice place to dine, keep your food expectations reasonable and you'll be perfectly happy. Lunch with a glass of wine = $25. Dinner = $60 per person. read more

We stumbled across Monti's as we were visiting wine country. What we always need is a nice outdoor patio seating, because we like to bring our small dog with us everywhere. Monti's did not disappoint. It is lovely! The patio is exquisite as this restaurant is inside a small shopping mall. There are lights and heaters so the temperature is perfect and the atmosphere is quaint and pretty (not a make shift patio due to COVID.) The inside of the restaurant is nice as well. Think IlFornaio style. The food was excellent as menu items are very creative. As the waiter suggested we had the crab stuffed deviled eggs, calamari-of course-and the sole. All we're done to perfection and my husband is picky!! They also have a decent list of port to end your night well. I highly recommend Monti's we will definitely be coming back! read more

The food and service were excellent, however my daughter ordered the flat iron steak and the steak portion was so small that they had to fill the plate with French fries. For $30 I would expect the steak to be a little bigger. Otherwise, excellent meal. read more

They were closing in 30 min so I entered apologetically but they had counter and wait staff that all smiled upon my arrival. (So rare to receive a welcome greeting these days). As a first timer she gave me several artisanal selections and even helped me customize it. Even though they had some nice outdoor seating and a modern interior with sports on TV I still took mine to go as I didn't want to rushed. Their red sauce would make my Italian mother smile it was so good. The crust was thin but the edging was so light and airy. I don't think I've ever had a better crust and now I look forward to returning

The original brew master became the co-owner when the winery left the beer business in 2003. It was then moved this location in 2004, opening as a brewpub. It's been on my list of places to visit for a while, so my wife, her mom, and I took the opportunity to stop in for a Thursday night dinner on our way to San Francisco from Fort Bragg. The inaugural double IPA (aka Imperial IPA) was made by the current co-owner at a different brewery in 1994. Double means it uses double the hops and malts, and the ABV is quite a bit higher. He then created Pliny the Elder (ABV 8.0%) in 2000, recognized as the most famous DIPA. The track continued, with Pliny the Younger in 2005, a triple IPA (using triple the hops and malts with ABV of 10.25%). This version is available once a year in the spring, since it costs so much money and time to make. With so much malt being used, a large amount of time (and hops) is needed to balance. I've had Pliny the Elder in bottles before, and really liked it: I don't like the hoppy 'piney' taste in my beers, but also recognize that not enough will make the beer too sweet (which I've been facing with a lot my island beers lately). Parking is street only, but there was a lot of it, with the metered parking only requiring payment till 6 pm. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately seated at a table near the bar. As expected, it was quite loud, with after work folks having a good time. We got menus, ordered our food, and then decided what to do about flights. The brewery is also known for their Belgian style and thus offers two different flights. It was my first time, and didn't know how much my wife could help, so decided to order the California Sampler (a selection of 12 different West Coast 5 oz. pours of ales and lagers for $15.45) to start: O.V.L. Stout (Old Vic Loyals) - Irish nitro stout - really beginning to love stouts, and this one was good. Velvet Glow - lager - solid. Ending up buying 6 pack to bring home ($12.99) STS Pils - pilsner. Bought a 6-pack for $12.99. Pliny the Elder - the original Felt pretty good, so decided to order the Belgian Sampler (9 different for $13.63), Surprisingly, I didn't like it nearly as much (my favorite fruit beer during this trip was the Howzit Punch beer). Petite Robert - table beer Little White Lie - Belgian White Robert - saison Perdition - biere de sonoma Damnation - golden strong ale Mortification - quad Supplication - sour brown ale Intinction - barrel aged pilsner Consecration - sour dark ale In terms of the food, it was solid. The 8 pc chicken wings ($17) were good, and the cheesy garlic bread ($10) was filling. I had the meatball sandwich ($16) and upgraded the fries to a spinach salad (+$4): it was tasty, loved the toasted French bread and marinara sauce, with the meatballs being OK (tasted from frozen)...loved the spinach salad with strawberries and blue cheese. We finished off our meal with a Vinnies (co-owner) sundae: good vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a lot of almond slivers. Payment was at the table, and me being again very pleasantly surprised at how little the flights were (a typical brewpub where they charge $3-$4 per 5 oz, would have cost 4 times as much...though of course I wouldn't have drunk as much either).

The fountain grove - unfortunately quite a disappointment. Starting off, it was very salty. Maybe from the sausage or salami? I personally still don't understand the craze with piling on ingredients just to have them in California. I've seen it happen so often, and it always falls short of a cohesive pizza, and this one is the same story. Each bite it took just kind of tasted like an amalgamation of random ingredients, there was nothing complementing one another. Overall, a 2/5 pizza. Their employees are very friendly and seemed to have good service. My personal pizza tastes may disagree with others, but I hope there is some room for adjustment or improvement.

We deceided to try months because we love love love bird in the bottle and Starks . Well this place is decorated nicely, we got some nice mixed drinks and ordered our meals. It was Sunday and the special is a smoked prime rib with mash and string beans for $30. I love prime rib and the thought of a smoked one really got me excited. When I Asked the waitress for rare she said they could not do it......???!!! I was sad so I got med rare because I didn't want to waste time looking over the menu again. We also ordered the pork chop . We finished our dr k and ordered glasses of wine to match our food and asked the waitress to bring them with them meal. When the food came, the pork chop was not actually a pork chop, it was a big piece of pork that looked grilled but it definitely wasn't a chop, I don't understand why some places try to be deceiving , I guess it's a piece of the shoulder from what the waitress said....so no big juicy pork chop. The shoulder part was good but it wasn't what I was expecting. When we got our smoked prime rib, it was more medium then medium rare, very disappointing, and the weird horseradish gremolata was just like garlic and parsley with some horse radish I didn't really dig it. What ever happened to just horseradish and sour cream? The most disappointing thing of all was the prime rib did not tasted "smoked", apparently they just call t that because it was cooked in the rotisserie?!?! The waitress was nice about it, but you didn't get and smokey flavor, so sad. Oh I forgot to mention I got THREE yes THREE lonely very over cooked/limp string beans, and a scoop of barely warm mash potatoes on our plates. Also the plates were pretty cold which made all of our food cold. Meanwhile we were also still waiting for our wine, the waitress didn't bring them before she brought our main course. So eating very slowly and not having a beautiful glass of red to sip was really not the way I wanted to start my meal . So for $30 (plus tax and tip) I got over cooked prime rib with THREE string beans and mash potatoes ! Since nothing was as we expected we went around the corner for dessert... Well needless to say this has been the worst Stark restaurants experience yet...we might Go back for happy hour but it won't be soon. read more

After wandering around Montgomery Village after Christmas Shopping we decided to stop by and grab some dinner. Not having a reservation we walked in and saw that the bar was packed but the restaurant was not busy at all. The hostess ignored us for about 5 minutes not sure where she was and when she finally appeared asked us if we had a reservation. I said we didn't and she said it would be about 15 minutes. Ok, I can see that if they were waiting for a table to free up, but the room had at least 15 tables that were empty. Are we suppose to push ourselves to the bar and wait there ? She didn't say if we could wait inside, outside, a the bar or whatever. She was not the friendly outgoing hostess we usually would expect in a business that caters to people. After about 10 minutes she says your table is ready. Sits us down and puts 4 menus on the table. A bus person asks us if we want water and brings us water right away. We ordered the shrimp to share and some burgers. The shrimp arrived at it would have been nice if we were told that the dish barely served one person let along 4. I think we each had one prawn . Our burgers arrived after a few minutes they were cooked ok, but not particularly flavorful or standing out with having juicy meat or some dynamite toppings. The burgers were suppose to have some bacon and blue cheese, but in reality none of us could taste either the bacon or the blue cheese in the burgers. With drinks our bill was over 120 bucks and we walked out of their wondering why the meal was so so. I really can't answer the question, not sure if we'll be returning anytime soon. First time. Will be back. Great service from Shane. Knowledgeable and friendly. Apologetic when the kitchen was out of things. That's okay. A reason to come back because everythng was delicious. Oysters were delicious. I prefer salty oysters but these slightly sweet oysters paired well with the mignonette. I'm not a cocktail sauce fan but I always try them. This is definitely more ketchup than horseradish. The smoked salmon rillete was tasty. If it was socially acceptable I would have licked the container. The shrimp were a little spicy, charred, and seasoned very well. The mushroom pizza was very tasty and comfort food at it's best. The spaetzle had a great texture and isn't on many menus so we had to try it. But the best thing of the night was dessert. The profiteroles are amazing. Crispy pastry, ice cream, caramel, pecans, and a perfect balance of coffee. I stopped eating just to get some port. Why did it take me four years to come here? read more

Was with my family and while my parents were in town we visited this place on whim, just passing through and saw it. First off, we stood at the front counter forever, while being ignored but a young girl (who ended up being our hostess some 5 minutes later). We were ushered outside in the frigid air without asking whether we preferred to be inside our outside. We then waited for our waitress (who like hostess, took forever to appear). After taking our order, she left the menus on the table (why? I don't know, we were one of two table occupied outside and the inside was all but empty, maybe two or three tables/booths occupied). She never returned to ask us how our food was (one of our orders was messed up). The food was good but not great. Maybe with a much better dining experience and hospitable employees this place could be better. read more

Stark Restaurants apparently dominate Sonoma County and it's easy to see how the brouhaha builds from its clean contemporary appeal, thumbs-up service, and freshness in ingredients, this ship's stewardship is nothing less than exemplary. Ordered a Lamb Burger togo over the phone and service was groovy from order to pick-up, cheers Allie. The lamb patty was flavorful and their BOH really hit the sweet spot on its temperature°, arugula adds a bit of spicy-earthiness which plays well with lamb, tzaziki on lamb is always a winner, and can't forget the grilled ciabata anchoring it all together! Always been a fan of Cold Lamb Sandwiches from Meet Joe Black, but Lamb Burger definitely trumps. Lastly it doesn't come with fries or a side salad but their house pickles are legit. read more

This place is great! My girlfriend and I went here for happy hour and sat at the bar with Sam. She was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions for us: crab stuffed deviled eggs, fresh mussels, and an AMAZING fig & prosciutto pizza. I had an old fashion, great liquor selection, and my girlfriend had their signature cocktail "the local", which I wish I would have ordered after tasting. Everything was so fresh and delicious I wish we have come here sooner. If you want a great experience here I highly suggest sitting at the bar. I was referred to Monti's by some clients of mine, that boasted about their great wine and cocktail selection. On my first attempt with Monti's I sat with my wife and two friends at the bar. It was a very busy Friday night, but we felt that the service was excelent. Although busy, the bartender, who introduced herself to us as Sam, seemed very attentive to every guest. I have been to all of the Stark's restaurants, and after several trips to each, Monti's is by far my favorite. I recently visited Monti's after a friend suggested it. My friend and I sat on the patio, and it was so relaxing and beautiful. We had some of their specialty cocktails, which were delicious, the Twist of Fate was mine, sooo yummy! For starters we ate the crab briks and a cheese plate, how decadent! As an entree I had the grilled ahi and my friend had the sole, which were both phenomenal and perfectly seasoned. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and the vibe was fun and comfortable. I like to dine at the bar and They were very accommodating, it appears that they have many regulars that all seemed to know each other, I felt like I was part of a club. I'm only writing review on happy hour, the menu & service. Used to be THE place to meet friends after work but recently happy hour lacks a variety choices on menu. Because of atmosphere and variety of happy hour menu it was always first choice to go. But recently menu choices have dwindled along with service. Going else where for happy hour. Monti's is one of my favorite places in Sonoma County. Anything the Starks touch turns to (delicious) gold! The bar at Monti's is always a fun place to hang out and have an after work drink and their food is always seasonal, fresh, and wonderful. Monti's is on the top of my list of go-to places for a nice night out! read more

Monti's new renovation looks absolutely stunning! I popped in for a quick drink after work and was blown away; not just by the ambiance, but by how warm and welcoming the bartender, Erin, was. We sought to experience Mediterranean cuisine in Santa Rosa. The manager allocated a table to us from 4:40 PM to 6:00 PM. However, 25 minutes prior to 6:00 PM, she approached our table and requested our departure. This treatment is unprecedented in my dining experience and was quite embarrassing. read more

If I could give them less than one star I probably would,have been there twice for Sunday lunch,both times the service and attitude of the staff was the same unfriendly, and a little weird, I thought I was in a zombie movie,as far as the food goes it's a little pricey and not worth the money read more

I had an amazing experience at Monti!The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was perfect for a date night or special occasion. I highly recommend trying their shrimp in iron skillet - it was absolutely incredible. I can't wait to come back and visit again soon! read more

Easily one of my top restaurants in Santa Rosa. The food and service is consistently friendly and attentive. Food items and cocktails change according to the season so it's nice to experience different flavors. I highly recommend checking out their happy hour as well! read more

OMG I love this place! Everyone is friendly and fun, lots of the same faces for years. The food is on point! Rotisserie items after 5 are where it's at... but go on the earlier side as they sometimes sell out. We just dined on the patio and it was warm and beautiful. read more

The saving grace was that they reminded us of our shopping bag that we forgot at the restaurant. I feel sorry for both the women - they must be really dissatisfied with their lives to treat customers this badly, without any provocation.
