Used the 45 min massage Groupon. The front desk was super courteous and nice but was also clear that the 45 min massage was for back only. Also, I don't think I had a choice of scrub or stone (the Groupon made it seem there was a choice) - so I went with the stone as the front desk said. While they were totally nice, I was initially a bit thrown off but went with it. I didn't feel like making a fuss. Massage was fine although throughout the massage there was a fairly constant upsell "sure you don't want to upgrade to an hour?" "45 mins is too short" which felt weird and distracting. And then the dreaded tip experience - I was hoping this wouldn't happen but lots of frowns and complaining over a tip that didn't meet the masseuse's expectations. Great massage- felt so good and refreshed afterwards. Nice, clean and zen environment; the biggest one in the area. They also gave me a pair of shorts to wear for my foot massage because My pants were too tight that day. The price is also unbeatable. Customer service was great. Some of the massage therapists' English aren't perfect, but they're still good and we were able to communicate perfectly fine. My experiences at Mood Up have always been pleasant and relaxing; however during my last visit I left disappointed. I had a 90 minute appointment scheduled and I was taken back 20 minutes late. My session only lasted an hour. My feet and body were each worked on for 30 minutes. I was expecting to be done later but that was not the case. I could have said something but I felt rushed out the door so her next client could be met and there wasn't anyone at the desk to speak to. The person who performed my massage had a very unusual strategy where they, without warning, climbed on top of me several times while I was face-down. Instead of just massaging, they also folded my legs and applied pressure while I was face-down. Unfortunately I get a phone call immediately after from her telling me it was the worst experience she'd ever had. She claimed the lady who gave her the massage was very rough, unprofessional, and basically cornered her at the end of it all to get a tip. Instead of getting a stress free massage, my mom was uncomfortable during and in pain at the end. I don't understand why people work in this industry if they aren't happy with what they do. It's just mediocre imho. The prices are good, but that's because this place employs masseuses, not highly skilled certified massage therapists who go through a lengthy training program. The massage technique performed here isn't my cup of tea as I prefer swedish style. My masseuse didnt really have good technique and in fact, I felt sore and slightly bruised afterwards because she didnt seem to understand body and muscle structures. She also didnt employ the use of proper draping/covering of the body during massage (your genitals shouldnt be out on display, sheet should cover one leg/side of body at all times while exposed side is worked on to avoid full frontal/full ass) on the plus side, the portion of massage with hot stones felt really nice. read more

Omg ! Let me begin..this place is very nice and clean. Reception are very nice and welcoming..I needed a deep tissue massage focusing on my back. I am a healthcare worker and have been working long hours so this was very much needed. I requested Betty as I ready reviews and they all mentioned her name. She was great ! After trying the 1.5hour full body massage. I feel nothing improvement of my body stress, my body is still so tie. This is my first time coming here, and recommend by my friend. I was hoping that the massage can help my body to feel better. But the lady who did my massage, didn't help at all. I ask to relax my neck, shoulder, and back with harder pressure. But she just keep touching the back of my waist. I have to keep telling her to press on my should and neck, but later on she still move to my waist!!!! BECAUSE it takes less effort and pressure to massage!!!! BUT that is not what I was asking for!!!! I told her she to use a harder pressure, she just use her elbow to push me because she can use less effort. The whole precess is just weirdly touching, pointing and elbowing on me. She didn't even stretch out my shoulder, neck and arm. Such a waste of my money!!!!! I still feeling my muscle pain after the massage! I have to stretch myself after it! I know there is 15mins trails, if you feel the therapist is not good. But for the god sake. Her hand was on my waist and my leg in the beginning of the 10 mins. We found Moodup on Groupon and thought the deal would be a great way to celebrate our anniversary. When we called they indicated that we couldn't do purchase the Groupon on the same day we wanted an appointment. Not sure why but fine. We ended up not purchasing the deal and instead booked a 2-hour couples massage. We arrived early as instructed on their website but didn't get brought into the room until 15 mins after our booked time. The massaged started 10 mins after that and was completed 10 mins before the 2 hours was up. We still were fine with all of that and had gotten ready to give a 20% tip. When we exited the room the masseuses were waiting and asked if we wanted water. My husband said yes as we handed them their tips. They proceeded to tell us that 2 hour massages were difficult on them and said we should give more money (despite the fact that we had already doubled the "normal" tip rate they had on the posted tip recommendations), and that said recommendations were only for 1 hour massages. We were so surprised at the request (not sure why since others had posted similar experiences) but my husband give them some more money which doubled their tip to 40% of the price we paid! The massages themselves were fine. We get that we should tip for good service and 20% was quite appropriate. But the end of the appointment was not and we will not be returning. read more

Got a couples massage, on the surface the place is nice quiet and smells good. We check in and they put us in a room for the foot portion. The ladies walk in and one brings her phone with her that was running an English learning video and then walked out the room. So now we're trying to relax while her video is teaching us how to say "I'm going to take a shower" in English. She didn't turn it off until they were ready for the foot massage. It was just awkward. After that they had us get down to our skivvies and put a sheet over us. I've never had a massage where it was through a sheet. It didn't feel nice. It was weird. Hot stones were nice. After the body portion we realized most of the massage was focused on the legs and we wanted full body. My boyfriend told me his lady didn't touch his shoulders at all. Then when we go to leave the guy at the front demanded a tip from us and when I was going to leave a tip anyway the fact he jumped in-front of us and asked if I was gonna tip just turned me off I didn't even get a change to get my wallet out my purse. If I could give 0 stars for this place I would, but I am rating 1 star for my previous masseuse, Betty, who did a wonderful job the first time I came here. However, this review will be based off my second experience and for certain, I will never be returning nor will I recommend this place to anyone. Called in to schedule a full body massage on Tuesday evening since its only $45 and requested if I could see Betty. The front desk told me that Betty was off that day so instead, I would be set up with a woman name Jessica. When I got there, the receptionist checked me in, asked me to pay, and if I wanted to tip $10 (the "minimum") before I even got into the room for my massage... should've known then that this was an amateur massage parlor who clearly does not have any manners... I was then taken back for my massage and this is where things turn south. I kid you not... I have never been more tense in my life than in that hour. Instead of helping relax my muscles, the masseuse was literally hitting and slapping me the entireeee time all over my body. While working on my neck and back, she used her elbows to press down on my neck bone and spine, creating not one... but two FAT bruises on my neck and back to the point where it's painful to even lay down. Towards the end, the masseuse then took a hot towel and placed it on my face the started SLAPPING me and being so rough I damn near got up and punched her!!! Omg. I got up and rushed to the front desk and complained to her about how horrible everything was but even so, decided to leave a $5 tip because I understand the struggle of having a job like that. Truthfully, I should've just walked out and reported them to BBB because when I told the receptionist I was not leaving the masseuse a $10 tip, she rolled her eyes and turned around to the masseuse and began talking in Chinese talking crap as if I didn't understand what she was saying....... the masseuse came up to the front desk and started making a scene and I could clearly tell she was throwing a fit about her $5 tip.... shoot lucky I even left anything at all after all that. 25 min after I left the front desk called me to apologize about my experience and said that she was going to give a discount the next time I come and then sneaks in that Jessica was actually not the person who massaged me, but instead was another person because they sent Jessica home for a cough she had before I got there???Don't you think that's something you should mention upon the customers arrival??? Then they leave to get everything (supplies, water & etc) the massage was supposed to be 75 mins probably got a 45 min massage 2) We had a couples massage & the women spoke and giggled in a foreign language. It wasn't even to direct us like hey I'm gonna walk out for a few mins you can get as comfortable as you like and lay down. Why were they talking? 3) the massage was 160 then after the women WAIT next to a tip chart 10 ok 20 good service & 30 Wow. What? I didn't like the the tipping is almost forced on you. With a tip I'm paying $90-$120 for a 45 min massage, ridiculous. 4) The massages weren't in sync which leads me to believe the women aren't trained and they do their own thing.
