Wide variety for breakfast. Most everything I've tried is good. Eggs Benedict is pretty good and my uncle likes the lox and bagels. Coffee is not so good which is surprising for a breakfast establishment. Very weak and watery. A little on the pricey side unless you get the specials. Ask them not to butter your toast because I think they use a ladle in the application process. Also surprising that they only give you a single slice of toast. We've been coming here for the last few years and always enjoy our meal. They have amazing specials and the food is even better. A nice coffee shop style menu with breakfast and lunch options. The kids love being able to have a different waffle flavors at every visit. The pancakes are so fluffy and delicious. And the burgers are big and juicy. Also who does love to enjoy mimosas with their breakfast. Yes this lovely coffee shop has a liquor license! The staff is always friendly and we always enjoy our visits. The only thing is they close by 2pm and make it a little harder to visit as much as we probably would if they were open later. read more

It was our first time at Moon Valley Cafe and we were impressed! I had the pancake roll which was delicious! My husband had the veggie skillet and he loved that as well! The service was great! We were seated right away and our server and busboy were on top of everything. It's exactly what I imagine when I think of a diner. I could tell they had their regular customers which was nice. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was because it had that sticky feeling on the table some restaurants have from their cleaning solution which is not my favorite. This is the only place where we are regulars. We come every Saturday; Desiree knows our order, and has our drinks to us in moments. Tony is always friendly and helpful and the kitchen staff gets it done! We've been coming for probably 20 years, inside and outside seating. The service was pretty quick and very nice, so this review is 100% not related to them. The seating is very tight at this restaurant, to where it's a bit of a chore to move throughout the place. The restaurant was very warm; we were seated in what appears to be an expansion of some sort, and the air conditioning was provided by a small AC unit, which wasn't the most powerful thing, but that's also not the reason for the review. The 2-star review is connected entirely to the food. At our four-top, we ordered: Western Omelet with hash browns: the vegetables inside the omelet weren't cooked at all, so it was raw onions and green peppers, with almost none of the ham advertised. About 1/3 of the egg part was over-cooked and physically blackened. The hash browns were bland and flavorless. I was told that the omelet could be re-done, but it'd be a while since the kitchen was backed up (why nobody thought to just re-do a 2 -minute omelet is beyond me). Another omelet (can't remember which kind) with country/home fries: again, the omelet was definitely subpar and bland, with uncooked ingredients; the country/home fries were decent, definitely better than the hash browns, but still nothing even remotely "good". Two orders of pancakes, one with sausage, the other with bacon: the meats were decent, but the pancakes looked and tasted suspiciously like they'd just been purchased from the McDonald's across the street. Don't order online, call ahead. It's a small local restaurant so they sometimes has issues with there online ordering. my spouse had to wait a little bit and have them remake the order. But herd they made everything really quick and can't complain. We were very surprised and excited we got to get breakfast for Mother's Day. I'm a little torn on how to review MVC. We were greeted within a few seconds of walking in and asked if we could sit at the bar (we like to watch the kitchen action) and the hostess said sure, and walked away. We sat ourselves and quickly realized we didn't have menus. We waited for a waitress to come by, but after about 5 minutes my fiancee just got up and grabbed us some. What appeared to be the owner was standing by where the menus were and noticed him grabbing our own, and apologized for the oversight (so that was really fine). After another few minutes our waitress came over, and was actually very friendly throughout the rest of the time there. I ordered the pancakes with eggs and ham and he had the french toast with meats. The ham steak and eggs were cooked perfectly. My pancakes looked good, but when flipped over, they were burned on the other side. His sausage, ham, bacon and eggs were also cooked perfectly but the French Toast was just okay. (see pics for reference) The big down side was really listening to the other waitresses that came up to the counter to pick up things complaining about the other patrons in the restaurant. It was rather awkward to sit there and overhear them bad mouth people sitting on just the other side of the restaurant. Overall: B Skip the pancakes or french toast if you go, but the meats and eggs are great! Bar waitress was nice, but be aware you may end up listening to the other waitresses complaints while sitting there - yikes! read more

Huge disappointment. My husband ordered a "Mexican Bene" and it was covered in dark orange nacho cheese. I ordered a Mexican Omelette that was so cold the slice of cheese on top was hard on the edges. Hash browns were cold too. Our table was broken, ceiling had severe water damage. I really try not to be critical of the service industry, but our experience today was pretty terrible. After waiting for about 15 minutes for a table (not bad), we waited an hour for food (after watching others who were seated after us get their food). Adding insult to injury, my bacon/eggs/home fries/toast was missing the bacon and toast (50% success?) And the waitress lied by blaming the kitchen for losing the order when it seemed pretty clear that she forgot to put the order in. Manager gave us a "whopping" 20% discount for all that. I want to start off on a positive note by saying the staff at Moon Valley Cafe are very friendly and the service is very good. That's why I feel terrible for calling out their food as being, to be honest, flavorless, and just not very good On this visit we had the chicken stew with biscuit and the fried chicken strip salad and to be honest both entrees, just were not good. The chicken on both entrees tasted overcooked, and the chicken stew lacked flavor. The entire meal was disappointing. Denny's or IHOP would be a less expensive option. read more

The food and service is always amazing here. Last week was my second time there and I forgot to take pictures of my food because it is so good that I just jumped right in. I love the ambience it is very family oriented here. I wish I was a local and a regular because they greet their regulars by first name. My hubby and I came in here on a whim after an early morning doctor appointment today and was pleasantly surprised! Even though the restaurant is not large or fancy, it has a very warm homey feeling to it. We love to venture into the unassuming mom and pop places hoping to find the best food and Moon Valley Cafe was a good choice. This is what you would call your classic home-cooked diner food, but I will say it was done very well. My hubby said his Belgian waffle was so much better than IHOP's he's never going back! I'm just sorry we didn't discover this place sooner because it is so close to our house - we could've had great waffles for years now!
