Love the Moosejaw! Close to home, this is often our carry out and occasionally dine-in favorite. The veggie pizza is delicious as a treat and lots of other vegetarian options are on the menu, too. There's something for everyone on the eclectic menu and of course many rave about Friday fish here. If you're not there for fish, avoid a Friday visit! Very busy on softball league nights, too. We were on our way to Mackinaw but saw a sign that said Moose Jaw Junction. Goodbye Bic Mac, hello MJJ. How could we not visit a place with that name? Exactly what we needed on a lazy Saturday. We weren't overly hungry so we split the poutine and an order of the pretzel sticks and cheese sauce. That cheese sauce was AMAZING!!! The poutine was good as well. Then we found out they had peanut butter ice cream pie! Also good. Our server was Kasha who was excellent! She seemed to know everyone and those she didn't she made you feel like friends. Old fashioned roadhouse with excellent food and service. I am pleasantly surprised every time I go there. They just seem to improve all the time. Diverse crowd, which adds to the ambiance.. We have ate here for many years. I do understand that covid has been hard on most business. But we have called to get take out a few times lately and they are too busy to cook take out. Throughout the pandemic we would get take out here a lot to help support local businesses. I feel their customer service has gone downhill since the pandemic or maybe it is the new owners. I have been hearing this from others who have frequent the Moose Jaw. The food is still great but hope new owners work on how to serve all of the customers, not just the ones dining in. Just another wonderful dinner at MJJ. They now have a dark house beer brewed for them by Petoskey brewing. The walleye was delicious. We also ordered the shrimp fajitas. It was ok. The shrimp were fresh but the only veggie served in the fajita was onion. The fajitas lacked peppers. Our family came here on a Friday night for the all you can eat fish. There were 9 of us including kids, and we had a 45 minute wait. There is a playground outside, and great beer on draft so no big deal. The owner was very accommodating and checked on us several times to update us. Service was great, and the food even better. Live in Harbor. Come up to MJJ a couple of times every summer. Service is the best, owner always greets you and makes you feel welcome. Food is all good, no matter what you order. We are partial to the white fish basket and the cod fish and chips. In the middle of nowhere and definitely a locals favorite, but everyone is friendly. We have a cottage in the Tunnel of Trees and this is our absolute go-to favorite restaurant in all of Harbor Springs. We are up north almost every weekend and definitely try to get to the MJJ to begin our weekend. Yes, it's a bar with mostly bar food. But THE freshest food, by far. The "all you can eat" Friday cod fish two-ways is superb. Wet burritos, boneless hot wings are great, and so is the pizza. Elton and Dave, the bartenders are so friendly. We visit Harbor Springs often for skiing but had never heard of MJJ prior to seeing the yelp reviews. We were in the mood for burgers so we thought to give it a try. A little remote but it was worth the drive. Definitely a locals' bar/diner of choice, but no one made us feel uncomfortable. Food was outstanding, burgers were juicy and reflective of their reputation. Nice assortment of appetizers and great peanut butter pie. We arrived at 6:30pm and were immediately seated. But by 7:00pm the place was full so either come early or be prepared for a little wait. We have added this restaurant to our "must visit" list when in town. read more
