We went here for National Margarita Day and really enjoyed the food and drinks. My wife got a pina colada and I got a mango margarita. They specialize in Honduran, Mexica, and Salvadorean food. There is a huge parking lot and this place does get pretty busy. The service was okay, it took us a while to get seated and also a while for anyone to check on us and take our order. Other than that the staff is nice, most of the staff there only speaks Spanish so if you do not speak Spanish you'll need to have some patience. The interior design was really nice, the bar is massive, and the decorations are cool. I would definitely return here for a meal and try something else. read more

When my friend and I walked in the girl standing at the front register didn't greet us, but another girl walked up and asked us how many people in our party and sat us. We both ordered a chimichanga. I had chicken and my friend had beef. The food was good but not spectacular. The drinks looked good but weren't flavorful or strong. During our visit the service was good but an employee came out and started mopping the floor all around us. This was a bit odd to have to walk over a wet floor after dining. I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience my family and I had during an event hosted in your back room. While the food at Morazan has always been excellent, the service and handling of our private event on the day in question were extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. Approximately one month prior to the event, I met with one of your servers, referred to here as (A), who confirmed that I could rent the entire back room for a private birthday celebration of about 25 guests. We walked through the entire space, discussed the menu, and agreed on a price of $600, which was clearly presented to us as covering both the space and the food. The day before the event, my family and I returned to verify the time we could begin decorating. (A) instructed us to arrive at 7:30 AM the next morning--the day of the party. However, when we arrived as instructed, none of the staff on duty had been informed of our reservation, our agreement, or even the fact that we would be arriving to decorate. My sister had to personally text (A), who had not yet arrived for work, just to explain to the staff why we were there. While we were decorating, (A)'s manager approached us to say they needed some of the tables back and that we were "doing too much decorating." We explained that we had rented the entire back room and had paid for the space and food a month earlier. Despite this, the issue continued even as our guests began to arrive. Shockingly, right as the event was about to begin--and moments before the guest of honor was set to walk in--(A) and the manager confronted us again, insisting that the space actually cost $2,000 and that the $600 we had agreed upon was "only for food." This was never communicated to us at any point prior to the event. This confrontation, in front of our guests, was not only inappropriate but deeply embarrassing. It felt like we were being pressured and shaken down in the middle of a celebration we had planned in good faith. Furthermore, despite our event being scheduled from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with the food requested for 1:30 PM, our guests received no water, no chips, and no salsa for an extended period. Water was not provided until 2:15 PM, and the food did not arrive until 2:30 PM--without serving utensils. This was completely unacceptable for a paid event. The lack of communication among your staff, the misinformation about the cost, the last-minute attempt to reclaim the tables and space we had rented, and the disrespect shown to my family and our guests resulted in a celebration that was supposed to be joyful turning into a deeply stressful and disappointing experience. Because of this, my family, our 25 guests, and I will not be returning to Morazan. We will also share our experience with others so they can be aware of how poorly this event was handled. I strongly urge management to address the following issues: Staff communication and event coordination Clear and accurate explanation of pricing Respectful and professional treatment of customers Proper preparation for booked events This situation was entirely avoidable, and it is my sincere hope that Morazan will take the necessary actions to ensure no other customer has an experience like this. read more

Food is tasty and portions are generous. The menu is also very extensive and varied. I appreciate that the service is quick and the waitresses are very attentive. There's always someone from upper management doing rounds and asking if everything is ok too. Place always seems clean; there's always staff wiping down the tables and mopping. The food here is great and cost effective. The service just sucks. At both locations. When you walk in as a Black person employees stare at you and don't even greet you. You're basically in charge of your experience which if you're paying for it, it shouldn't be that way. Our waitress only checked on us twice out of obligation and the only thing she asked was "Anything else", no eye contact was made, and body language was awful. When we asked someone else for help they couldn't be bothered to do it. We noticed the difference in interactions/service with customers who were Spanish or Latino compared to ours. And while eating I had to participate in a staring contest with several employees. Probably won't be back here if I can find a more welcoming place with the same quality of food. Very rarely does a restaurant leave me speechless. Not only was the food F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C but the appearance of the inside and outside of the restaurant was very tastefully designed. The restaurant was very clean inside and out, the decor was modern, the colorful LED lights inside made it a fun and happy environment, and the service was excellent. The waiter helped me decide what to order, she checked up on me a multiple times, and she made sure I was getting the best service possible. I really do love the food here. The problems seem to stem from their lack of honesty in pricing. I've even verified a price prior to ordering and was over charged. We go here every time we are in Charlotte. We absolutely love the Parrillada Mata Antojos and always share it and then have left overs. Another menu item we order in conjuncture with the Parrillada is the Ceviche Salvadoreno. We were just her on Aug 7th to kick off my friends bachelorette weekend. If you're looking for authentic Honduran and Mexican food, this is one of the good ones. In an unassuming strip mall between Eastway Dr. and Sharon Amity Rd, this no frills, hole in the wall has some of the heartiest and comforting Central American food I crave. Their hearty meals usually have ample portions and after eating there about five times, I've noticed everything I've tried is a little greasy and a tad salty. But the right kind of salty, more like tasty curly fries rather than cheap microwaved ramen. It's the perfect place to treat yourself for lunch. Warning though, an afternoon siesta is mandatory post-meal. It happens whether you want to or not, just deal with it. Highly recommended, it's the little things like the pickled onions and salad with a healthy slice of avocado that transport me to another place and get all the little pleasure neurons firing in the brain. Went for dinner with my girlfriend. It was chaos inside. The manager with another server are pushing a booth bench thru a small hallway at the entrance. 5 or 6 server/hostesses standing and watching as the manager yelled at a server. Ordered the steak burrito, fajitas, Mexicano ceviche and two well margaritas. Bill came at $108. Apparently instead of making two regular margaritas, they served us their off menu house sangria margaritas which run $22 per drink. When I ask about this charge they said it was too late and they can't change it. After reading other reviews regarding racism against non Hispanics this kind of makes sense. This is speculation at this point but It felt like the waitress was trying to upsell us without our knowledge. I don't know any restaurant with a price so inflated for a well drink. The manager was very unprofessional and avoided coming to our table for some time after the waitress mentioned I needed to speak with him. He instead set tables while 4/5 waitresses stood at the hostess stand idly. Overall not a great experience. Place is just really mismanaged. Honduran in focus, gargantuan in scope - Morazon has it all and in huge portions. I mean, friggin' HUGE. Plates like movie props from some Roman Banquet, piled to overflowing teetery, waitresses wrangling the cramped dining space to get it onto your table before things start tumbling down. If you're a meater, these plates are for you - and there are a hundred to choose from. A fav at our table was the Pollo y Plantanos - green plantains piled high with roasted chicken, bone-in, sauced and covered with minced herbs, 14 bucks for more food than you could share between three. Veggies are going to have to do some picking and choosing, and will probably come away with a Chile Relleno, or maybe some papusas, and if you're lucky and your espanol es bueno, a Burrito Vegetarian. There's breakfast to be had, plantains both sweet and non, lots of cheesy, beany options, and the papusas aren't bad. But not amazing either. Which is pretty much the theme - flavors, on the MexiEcuaHonduraCharlotte Scale, were some midway between Azteca's blandness and 3Amigo's sharp - so the salsa was meh, but the sauce on my Relleno, awesome.
