Great atmosphere they were preparing for a mariachi band Our cheese was too thin, but still tasty and everybody's food was good I had chicken, enchilada, chicken, tostada, and chicken chili, Reno. Everything was good. The chicken was white meat, fresh and juicy. The fried ice cream was delicious

My first time trying this place. I was not super pleased but not upset either. The vibes and decoration of the place were super cute ! The server was kind and we had great service. The food is where it was lacking. The meat was super bland and food was mediocre at best. It was honestly something that could have been made at home in the microwave. This place definitely has potential but don't think I will be back when I can get higher quality food somewhere else for the same or better price. This may just be me being greedy but the entrees don't come with beans and rice like your typical Mexican restaurant as well lol

I have visited this location on several occasions during the workweek for lunch. Ive always been greeted in a friendly manner and seated right away. Theres ample seating and the location is quite large and good for groups. Food comes out fast and piping hot. Very flavorful. Their menu has something for everyone in your group. Steak fajitas and chicken soup are my go tos!

Stopped by for an early dinner yesterday and had a really yummy meal. Nice sized parking lot and is easily located right off of Independence Blvd. We were greeted and seated immediately by a little cactus garden with some cute figurines like the Spongebob Pineapple. I thought it was cute. There is also a fish tank inside. The Interior is pleasant, with exposed ductwork ceilings, but painted beige so it didn't feel too dark in there. The chips and salsa served complimentarily were some of the best I've had. I loved the flavor of the salsa and the little bits of onion and cilantro floating in the soupy tomato liquid. Cheese dip is a natural appetizer and this one was so good! Creamy and a huge portion. Our dinners were yummy and we all 3 had to have go boxes. So much food. I got Tacos al Carbon with Chicken. They reminded me of an enchilada in taco form. I really didn't care for the flabby tortillas, so next time I'll try something else. The flavor of the chicken was delicious though. We sampled 2 desserts to share: the Apple tart and the churros. Apple tart was just ok, but the churros were perfection! Crunchy and sweet on the outside and soft and chewing on the inside. We all agreed it was the best dish of the day. Great flavors, friendly atmosphere and excellent service make this place a winner!

If you want good Mexican food, please do yourself a favor. This family run restaurant gets it right every time. The salsa is amazing! No can flavor, just awesome freshness! The waitress said her father makes it every day. You can definitely tell. We usually ask for 3 refills, which would be my only advice to them-more salsa (in my more cowbells voice)! Bring. It. On. I understand if they don't want to waste it, but I would be doubtful that would happen, and I would be totally supportive if they posted pics of those who wasted it, so that were they come back they can sic the Salsa Executioner on them with "No salsa for you!"...I'd be cool with it...may even make me eat there a few times a week. I always get a taco The first time I try a New Mexican restaurant. Yes, I know that those are American representations of Mexican food, but I like them. Just the regular hard shell ground beef taco-I've never had one with the meat so delicious! I usually ask for light meat, but I want all of it at Las Margaritas! Truly, if I'm not feeling like making tacos at home, this is my go to. The chimichanga is amazing as well. I get the one with shredded beef. The rice and beans are typical fare, but always hot and good. My husband has had the combination fajitas and the camarones diablos, which are his favorites, and he raves the whole time he eats. This restaurant seems very unassuming from the outside, sits in a strip shopping center. You walk in and it's a little dark, not a huge space, but there are always customers.... Happy customers. People come in and out, picking up orders and the reason is the great customer service and the great food! And, did I mention the salsa! If you have not gone here, you need to make it your next meal!

First thing - holy portions! This is a place where you can definitely share an entree unless you haven't eaten in a while. Or if you love leftovers then you'll be in heaven. For the price, it's a pretty good deal - especially if you make 2-3 meals from each dish. Fajita nachos - I always prefer the flavoring and cuts on fajita meat over shredded or ground, seems to be higher quality also. Sopa de Tortilla - not my favorite in town. It's large, but it doesn't have as much flavor as I'd like. It's also on the greasy side. Carne Asada - good flavor, very simple dish. If you're in the mood for juicy beef its our go to. Pollo Asado - staple chicken dish, again good flavors and balanced dish. Definitely recommend if you're a poultry person. Enchiladas are also good. Really a classical Tex Mex joint, we always have a good time. Staff is nice, and they love it if you speak Spanish.

I originally was going to place the order online, but they're online option said it was unavailable so I went inside and sat down at the bar. The service was OK though it seemed most people did not speak English, which is fine. It just made it kind of harder to communicate. That said the food was decent but the reason why I gave two stars was because I feel very misled on pricing. The menu showed Que Siberia tacos three for $12. Steak/Asada tacos for three dollars which brings my total to 15+ the two drinks. I thought she said it was $20.80 so I paid it with my card and gave her five dollars cash for a tip. I get to the car just to double check the transaction and she charged me 3499 on my card and took the cash. I went back inside to confront her about this advising. She completely overcharged me, and she only offered to give my six dollars tip back to me. I am now going to dispute the transaction with my bank because I was unable to resolve this issue. That's sad.

But I have to start with a small heartbreak: my beloved puffy taco is gone. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where the puffy taco was created, and it's deeply nostalgic for me. It's not a sope, not a tostada--it's a true puffy taco, light, airy, and unlike anything else. For a long time, Superica made one that came remarkably close to what I grew up with. Unfortunately, after changes in leadership and kitchen management, it quietly disappeared from the menu. That was a real disappointment. That said, I still come back--because the food here is consistently good. The crispy tacos with picadillo are my current favorite. Picadillo (P-I-C-A-D-I-L-L-O) is a traditional Latin dish with many regional variations, and this version reminds me of the one my grandmother used to make in San Antonio. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and the menu offers something for everyone--from enchiladas and chile rellenos to steaks and fresh tableside guacamole. Speaking of guacamole, I'm a purist. I like it simple: avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, lime, garlic--chunky and clean. Superica delivers on that. The chips and salsa are bottomless, the salsa has great depth of flavor, and for those who like heat, they offer a tiny dropper of hot sauce that is smoky, bold, and absolutely not for the faint of heart. The ginger margarita is another standout. It comes with a generous piece of crystallized ginger and has a bright, balanced flavor that makes it easy to order a second one. And if you have room for dessert, do not skip the tres leches cake--rich, decadent, and a perfect way to end the meal. I also appreciate the little touches here: * Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff * A lively bar area that's great for happy hour * A beautiful outdoor patio that makes al fresco dining feel special * And a fun tradition of sending you home with a packaged Texas praline This South End location is my personal favorite. It feels more adult and relaxed, while the Strawberry Hill location tends to be more family-heavy. Both are good, but the vibe here suits me better. Yes, prices have crept up a bit--as they have everywhere--but the quality, consistency, and atmosphere keep me coming back. And as someone who travels frequently for work across multiple states, I appreciate that Superica maintains a dependable standard wherever I encounter it. Bottom line: Even without the puffy taco, Superica remains one of my favorite Tex-Mex spots in Charlotte. Come hungry, bring friends, share plates--and as always, travel safe and eat well.
