I was on a quick trip to Charlotte and I stop by this place, place was not that busy so the service was quick, waitress was attentive, they got me this corn salad with chips which was really good, I wish I had more lol, I tried the Mahi bbq tacos at first I didn't know what to expect but i will say they were very good and it was a god portion too, i had fried plantain as a side very good as well. Definitely i will go back again on my next trip to Charlotte.

Went for Taco Tuesday and everything was delicious! I had the chicken fajitas and watermelon margaritas! There is street parking and paid parking next to the Y for $10 /3 hrs.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped in on a Thursday evening, the place was pretty packed, which is typically a good sign.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was plenty of seating, and loud chatter. I opted to be seated on there covered patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter seemed a bit out of it, kind of like he was on some sort of substance. We had to repeat ourselves often, he messed up my drink order and brought me something completely different from what I ordered. Anyway.. We were given some chips and dip when we were seated. I ended up just ordering chips and queso for my meal along with a cocktail. I was served the queso, but no additional chips.... I had to call the server back over and ask him if my order was supposed to come with chips, he looked at the chips we were given when we first were seated, which we've already been eating on and asked if I wanted more chips... I'm thinking to myself, if someone orders queso wouldn't it come with chips?!?!? One basket of chips for two people to share as a courtesy appetizer makes sense, but if one is purchasing a appetizer it should come with chips and dip... IDK, perhaps I'm wrong in my thinking, but that completely threw me off. The dip was not good, my friend said her fish tacos were bland. Maybe it was a bad night.

Went on Taco Tuesday with a friend visiting from out of town. $5 à La carte tacos all day. It was delish! Love that the signature tacos are included. I ordered the shrimp and carne asada. And it hit the spot! Staff are always on point and gave great recs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also not too busy when we went.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went at an off time, but definitely got more traction as the evening went on. Love coming to Cabo since it's perfectly in the heart of NoDa.

We ordered the guacamole very good fresh avocados, tomatoes and queso for the chips. Dinner was beer battered soy shrimp taco with side of avocado pasta very tasty. Hubby had the carne asada burrito (he is still talking about how good it was) and son had the blackened Mahi Mahi taco very delicious side of mashed potatoes.

Good - service was great our waitress was super nice and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was ok nothing crazy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food - very average, felt like a burrito I could make and on top of that, it was so expensive!

Stopped here because the place was on DDD which means Guy Fieri ate here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice seating in a nice little cozy place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was average. We got mahi mahi tacos and the tuna tacos, along with plantains and refried beans. Beans were a little too soupy for me but had nice flavor. I enjoyed the tuna taco but not so much the mahi mahi, it was covered with a cilantro cream which is not my favorite flavor.

We were at an art show in NoDa, so we asked a local artist where to go for lunch. Great recommendation! We arrived just past noon on a Saturday, and we were seated immediately. The chips and house-made salsa were great. The salsa had corn, which was an unusual but fun touch. I enjoyed my shrimp tacos with a side of rice and beans (and more corn). The tacos come with flour tortillas. You can get corn tortillas, but that option isn't on the menu. You just have to ask. The menu also doesn't tell you that the tacos and burritos come with a choice of one side. My friend liked his shrimp and chicken burrito, too. It was huge, and he ate the whole thing. Service was quick, but it could have been much more friendly. On the plus side, my water glass was never empty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we first walked in, the music at the door was very loud. It was a lot calmer inside, though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was the perfect choice for our first time in NoDa, and I look forward to going back!

We stopped here to kick off Charlotte Taco week. The buffalo shrimp taco was my favorite!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A great restaurant in the NoDa district with indoor and covered outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Server was very attentive and we were seated right away, even though the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night. I ordered the veggie bowl with tofu and the portion was a lot. Salsa had a kick to it! Chips came out warm.

Why does this place consider a bowl of corn salsa? Who knows. There should be one constant at a taco restaurant, salsa. I mean when did we all just give into letting places get away with this. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I yearn for an America I never got to see and nothing is a bigger reminder of that than places like this.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I hope they clean this hipster act up and put some real salsa down on the table for the next folks. ZERO STARS. Water was good though.

I got the shrimp tacos and salmon tacos and it was not a 10/10. The meat tasted fresh and so did the toppings, but i'd definitely recommend adding some type of sauce to go on top of the tacos. The environment and service was great!

The service was extremely slow. The food was average and lukewarm. The utensils were dirty. A complete waste of $30. I would not come again.

Ask the Community - Cabo Fish Taco

Are there dog friendly outdoor seating options?

Unfortunately the NODA location is unable, due to our patio being considered enclosed. However, the Ballantyne location I believe does allow dogs on their patio. Hope this helps.

Has anyone else not been able to reach anyone for hours?

Hello Brittany. I live in the neighborhood and as far as i cant tell they are 11a-10p

Are there any gluten-free options?

They do offer corn tortillas for most of their tacos.

Do they have any deals for Tuesdays?

Tuesdays, they have a hostess that will lie to you, tell you the wait is 45 minutes, all while you look at a not even half full restaurant, with lots of empty tables. Enjoy!

Do they have any Tuesday specials?

No specials as far price goes but each day they have two tacos that are not in the menu.

Do they have dessert? Specifically churros?

Yes. Unfortunately they were over cooked.

I originally was going to place the order online, but they're online option said it was unavailable so I went inside and sat down at the bar. The service was OK though it seemed most people did not speak English, which is fine. It just made it kind of harder to communicate. That said the food was decent but the reason why I gave two stars was because I feel very misled on pricing. The menu showed Que Siberia tacos three for $12. Steak/Asada tacos for three dollars which brings my total to 15+ the two drinks. I thought she said it was $20.80 so I paid it with my card and gave her five dollars cash for a tip. I get to the car just to double check the transaction and she charged me 3499 on my card and took the cash. I went back inside to confront her about this advising. She completely overcharged me, and she only offered to give my six dollars tip back to me. I am now going to dispute the transaction with my bank because I was unable to resolve this issue. That's sad.

My spicy margarita had the perfect kick, and his giant mug of beer was ice cold. The restaurant is far bigger than it appears outside. I worried we would have to wait for a table, but they have a great set up. Music was great, plenty of TVs if your boyfriend (or you) wants to watch the game. Can't wait to come back!

But I have to start with a small heartbreak: my beloved puffy taco is gone. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where the puffy taco was created, and it's deeply nostalgic for me. It's not a sope, not a tostada--it's a true puffy taco, light, airy, and unlike anything else. For a long time, Superica made one that came remarkably close to what I grew up with. Unfortunately, after changes in leadership and kitchen management, it quietly disappeared from the menu. That was a real disappointment. That said, I still come back--because the food here is consistently good. The crispy tacos with picadillo are my current favorite. Picadillo (P-I-C-A-D-I-L-L-O) is a traditional Latin dish with many regional variations, and this version reminds me of the one my grandmother used to make in San Antonio. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and the menu offers something for everyone--from enchiladas and chile rellenos to steaks and fresh tableside guacamole. Speaking of guacamole, I'm a purist. I like it simple: avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, lime, garlic--chunky and clean. Superica delivers on that. The chips and salsa are bottomless, the salsa has great depth of flavor, and for those who like heat, they offer a tiny dropper of hot sauce that is smoky, bold, and absolutely not for the faint of heart. The ginger margarita is another standout. It comes with a generous piece of crystallized ginger and has a bright, balanced flavor that makes it easy to order a second one. And if you have room for dessert, do not skip the tres leches cake--rich, decadent, and a perfect way to end the meal. I also appreciate the little touches here: * Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff * A lively bar area that's great for happy hour * A beautiful outdoor patio that makes al fresco dining feel special * And a fun tradition of sending you home with a packaged Texas praline This South End location is my personal favorite. It feels more adult and relaxed, while the Strawberry Hill location tends to be more family-heavy. Both are good, but the vibe here suits me better. Yes, prices have crept up a bit--as they have everywhere--but the quality, consistency, and atmosphere keep me coming back. And as someone who travels frequently for work across multiple states, I appreciate that Superica maintains a dependable standard wherever I encounter it. Bottom line: Even without the puffy taco, Superica remains one of my favorite Tex-Mex spots in Charlotte. Come hungry, bring friends, share plates--and as always, travel safe and eat well.
