I used to come a lot but haven't been in awhile, I needed something authentic and it was late and I know they are open late on Saturday, I decided to stop in. I used to love this place, I was looking forward to some amazing food, I got the #7 which is 2 sopes con carne asada "comes with rice and beans" or so I thought! I also got a #9 (for my fiancé) which was a Chile Relleno with rice and beans "comes with flour or corn tortillas". (It was all to go) I get home and open my to go box and realize they didn't give me my rice and beans, ugh, but whatever I can fill up on 2 sopes, they were very soggy!!! Like they had been sitting in the box for awhile, I also realize they asked me what kind of tortillas for my fiancé's dish but didn't put them in the bag either. I have to say that I had my mind on some great Mexican food but this was a disappointment. I think the only good thing was the salsa. There isn't a really hot hot version of a sauce there. Nothing is labeled. The waitresses seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else. And there's the music.... Ok. That said. For example they have very good carne asada tacos, but at a dollar 69 that is not good value really. OK, I think I get that BUT there new manager is rude, condescending and lacks any professionalism and customer service. He is not friendly at all. If I had to choose between all Mexican Restaurants, I would choose this place. It is, to me, the most authentic. The staples are great: fried beef/chicken tacos; red enchiladas; rolled tacos; steak/chicken burros. The rice/beans at this place are the all time best. For my taste, the salsas are just OK. I really like this place because they have some authentic dishes. I especially like the tacos. I have to take a couple of stars off though because if you go and they are approaching busy there is quite a bit of congestion at the door, the salsa bar, and the register. It really is a fire code violation. The seating could be updated and depending on your luck you could get a lopsided booth or table. I have lived within walking distance of Moreno's Mexican Grill ever since it began. Over the years I have watched the progression of the small business as it succeeded. It started as a humble hot dog stand. Then it became a catering trailer in an unoccupied parking lot. Then it moved into the building it had sold food next to for years. It wasn't until it became a restaurant that I had tried their food based off a recommendation from my sister. Ever since then I have frequently visited the establishment. The item I order the most is something I know they had time to perfect, their hotdog. Their hotdogs can be described as "Sonoran hotdogs". Classic recipes call for bacon wrapped franks. Moreno's substitutes that for incorporated bacon pieces. The other ingredients are beans, onions, green chilies and tomatoes, topped with mayonnaise and yellow mustard. Compared to the usual ballpark hotdog, Moreno's hotdogs are tastier. The fact that Moreno's uses rolls instead of buns is the first thing I noticed and loved. Not only does it add a more appealing texture it makes the hotdog almost spill proof. Toppings are not effective if they slide off. The toppings used by Moreno's complement each other rather than classic toppings, which compete for the primary taste. That cooperation among the ingredients amounts to a more flavorful experience in general. The food is not the only thing to experience when visiting Moreno's Mexican grill. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quant and homey. The eating area is designed like any normal Mexican restaurant, with corona salt and pepper shakers, tile table tops and solid wood chairs and booths. What separates Moreno's from the rest is the lack of uniformity. Each stand alone table has a different theme or design on the top. Some of the booths have park bench seats instead of regular booth seats. All of it clashes so much that it blends together into something makes you think that you're dinning in some ones home. read more

My one concern is I feel their burritos are just a little overpriced, but I pay it because of how delicious it is. The dining area is small but very clean and the service is good. read more

Morenos Mexican Grill was below my expectations. The food, although tasty was hardly lukewarm, and the presentation was less that satisfactory. The food was overpriced, a two-cheese enchilada meal cost $10 plus tax. Furthermore, the meal was not entirely cooked and cheese was left un-melted on the top. The portions of food presented to the customer was hardly enough for one, let alone two. The customer service was below average, employees often would be chatting and would finish their conversation before tending to customers. Furthermore, employees did not often smile when speaking to customers, they were short and removed themselves from the scene as quickly as possible. The employees would openly complain in front of customers and sometimes even to customers. As far as cleanliness goes, it was disgusting, the tables were sticky and you could see the dirt on them. The serving plates were chipped and customers were handed plastic silverware. The location of this establishment was poorly advertised and difficult to find. The poor signage made it difficult to spot out while driving down the road. This particular location was also placed across the street from not one, but two other Mexican food restaurants. In this location employees were not professional, their shirts were not tucked in and hair was not in a bun. Also, employees were often fiddling with their uniforms, giving them a less than professional appearance. read more
