Had a really great first visit; excellent service Alora was fantastic; answered our questions (a LOT of menu options) and made sure everything was perfect throughout. The edamame was terrific, more flavorful than spicy, and my California Crunch roll was very good. My wife got the paradise roll, which was surprisingly great; i wound up eating a bunch of that as well. Great ambiance, with a separate area for the all you can eat crowd. Top it off with a great covered patio for people with dogs, and we have the local sushi winner, hands down. Have tried a lot of the sushi options locally; this is BY FAR the best. read more

Walked in for a late dinner on Sunday and had the advantage of getting happy hour deals. Pleasantly surprised by the selection of rolls and cocktails offered. The service was fairly quick due to the hour we went (around 8pm). There was no rush to leave even when they were nearing closing hours. Excellent service yesterday by our waitress Melissa! Couldn't have asked for better! We did AYCE and we weren't rushed in any way. The sushi chefs did a great job as did the hostess. And, as anyone knows me, iykyk....I am a clean freak! The restaurant was immaculately spotless. You could smell the cleanliness as well as see it. Furthermore, the hostess was wiping surfaces down when she wasn't tending to customers. I really cannot wrap my head around the lower star ratings left by other customers. The food quality, taste and presentation were superb for the value! Coming to Trappers has always been our treat in the Pacific Northwest. And after living in Las Vegas for the past three years, we are so happy to hear that there has been expansion with two openings in Arizona. Any all-you-can eat sushi place is good in my book. The restaurant is divided into an alacarte area and an all-you-can-eat area. There is also a bar in the alacarte area. There was a bit of a wait to be seated (no wait for all-you-can-eat section), but it wasn't too bad. We didn't end up getting the all-you-can-eat, but will definitely get that on a later trip. We ended up getting a couple of rolls which were but 2 get 2 free, which was a great value. Our server was friendly and helpful, and the sushi came out pretty quickly. Overall, we had a great time. It wasn't too expensive, and we got sushi. The only thing that brings it down? The sushi was just good. It wasn't great. Definitely not the best that I've had by a long shot. My husband and I decided to come to Trappers on a Monday night for a date (because weekends are extremely busy and im too old for that.) We sat at the AYCE sushi bar and was taken care of buy Chef Corey (red coat). First off, this man and his crew were swamped. They were making rolls left and right. The amount of professionalism portayed that evening was fantastic. I decided to have a leap of faith and let the Chef choose 3 out of 4 of my rolls and my husband did the opposite, but nonetheless they were ALL amazing. There was NOT one roll I didn't like. It had been a while since we had sushi, and I was craving it. We were quickly seated at a table in the bar. Space was clean. Service was incredible. But food was just a little underwhelming. We shared tempura shrimp and a rainbow roll. Both seemed much smaller than we remembered from previous visits. And the fish on the roll was so small and thin it was almost difficult to taste. Still, we enjoyed our time and will certainly try again when the craving hits (hopefully to be met with more reasonable serving sizes) :) read more

Got seated at 5:55, was told happy hour is based off when you get seated (ends at 6pm), our server didn't come over till 6:06 she got water order then came back till 6:25 to take our app/dinner order (restaurant was not busy until 6:30ish when they filled the AYCE bar and forgot we existed) Edamame was cold but warm in some spots. We didn't get our 4 (small/sad) rolls till 6:50 then asked for check immediately cause we were worried they'd never return to check us out. Visiting from out of town--heard great things, but left epically disappointed. Ordered online with an estimated wait time of 45-50 minutes. We didn't receive our food for well over an hour and a half. When it finally arrived, not only was it cold and clearly not fresh, but it was also missing basic essentials--no utensils, no chopsticks, no ginger, no wasabi, nothing--even though we specifically requested them. Wow! My fiancé has traveled through every U.S. state and has never found a better roll than what Jake created for him. He offered to make custom rolls based on preferences and did not disappoint. The look on my fiancé's face when he took a bite of the "Titan" was pure astonishment. This creation was second only to what he had in Japan. He was too full from his previous rolls to finish it, but he couldn't wait to write down what was in it so that he could order it next time. You do not send them a notification at the same time the dasher is picking up the order AFTER AN HOUR OF ALREADY WAITING. That is sleezy behavior. You didn't give me a chance to substitute it for something else, and DoorDash wouldn't issue a full refund because the food was already picked up. Every time my girlfriend and I go in we are impressed at how amazing the food and service is. The staff are attentive and the chefs are always engaged even if they are busy. I also love the tiny decorations at the sushi bar. It's very creative and is better than just looking at an empty bar. read more

Multiple times have ordered food to go. Each time it is wrong. Ask for extra sauce. They forget it. Ask for no sesames. They don't give you the side dishes that have sesames. Miso Soup was barely lukewarm and tasted watered down. My Wife's Salmon was dry, and the spicy tuna sushi had a bad rice-to-tuna ratio. The "spicy" tuna sushi tasted mostly like too much horseradish from the wasabi they used. My Sushi was kinda just okay. Everything tasted a little plain. 3/10. The sushi is okay at best and the sushi 'chef' who took my orders was so unbelievably clueless it was downright funny - it seemed like an SNL skit at one point. I was stuffed by the end. This experience is cool because you sit at the bar and it seems like a chef is assigned to you. You order whatever is on the dinner menu. We got our money's worth. I have always adored Trappers for the simple introduction sushi, which is actually delicious. It was never meant to be world class but a simplified and delicious option for friends and family. They succeed every single time as long as they keep within the Trappers lane. We got a couple of our favorites, and they were delicious. Front of house service kind of sucked. Server's demeanor was slow and odd, not very friendly. The real service rockstar was the guy in the kitchen (wish we would've gotten his name) who was making rolls for my husband. He was SO NICE and seemed genuinely interested in us. I don't like sushi so I have no personal insight on the sushi here, but my husband loved everything he ordered. I forgot to snap a pic of the Rock & Roll, but he said that one and the Tukwila were his favorites. And for $31(ish) for all you can eat of the full dinner menu, it was a killer deal. The rolls were MASSIVE! I ordered teriyaki chicken and it was just okay. The rice was fantastic but the chicken was dry. Sauce was good. Not the best teriyaki I've had.
