Great place to come if you want to treat yourself and have a date night. My husband and I like to share and we split the following items: Five onion soup: Onions were sweet and with a nice layer of cheese ration on top. The broth was not salty or too much vinegar. It was a nice balance Bone in Ribeye: Nice and seared on the outside. Meat had some nice fat marbling to it. Steak was cooked to the right temperature Lobster mac and cheese: Cheese sauce and nice and creamy. The only thing was the lobster was a little dry and wished there were more bits in there Chocolate lava cake: This had to be ordered at the beginning of the meal for the chef to make it. Basic lava cake. Nothing too groundbreaking. However, it was delicious and executed well. The chocolate was not too sweet and the vanilla ice cream complemented the dessert. Service was top notch. Out waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and super courteous. The decor was nice and classy. Prices are a little high but this is a steak house and its always a nice treat to enjoy a good meal. I prefer this place over Flemings. read more

We recently went to Morton's to celebrate our anniversary. I ordered the fillet. The first strep was way over cooked. The second attempt, while better than the first was not very good. In my opening , it was sous vide ahead of time and lightly grilled once my order went it. The food was served very quickly after the order went in so that could make sense. It didn't look or taste like a freshly grilled steak. The salmon tasted like metal and the wagyu steak was not good either. Hopefully, it was an off night. But we will never go back. read more

One of my guest ordered a specialty drink only to be told it was no longer available. Service was suspect as the main course was brought out to 3 out of the 5 of us. The other 2 had to wait. On top of that, sides came out in segments as well. Quality was good, pace of service and the lack of attention to detail was not. I wouldn't recommend this location. read more

This was one painful experience. I normally enjoy Landry's restaurants, this was an exception. Nothing clicked: service, food, atmosphere. We came in to take advantage of $99 dinner for 2 Labor Day deal, with bottle of wine included. Good deal, considering Morton's unreasonably high prices. We were seated outside, as requested, pleasant weather, everything started well. Our waitress cane across as clueless from very beginning. Then it dawned on us that we were the only ones taking advantage of this special. Apparently, nobody knew about it, and Morton's staff didn't advertise it for "some reason" (to maximize profits, perhaps?). Somehow we were not served in a timely fashion like others, the food was bland and mediocre. What really killed it for us were the main courses. Filet mignon came very late, and well done, not medium, as requested. Moreover, out daughters' mac&cheese came with bacon, and we don't like/eat bacon at all. Nobody bothered to tell us about bacon ahead of time, it is ridiculous! All in all, after it was all pointed out to the Manager, he took care of the bill for us, it was complimentary. That was a nice gesture, but we won't be back for sure. Bad experience, and aftertaste. I will still plan to go to other Landry's restaurants, not our neighborhood Northbrook Morton's. read more

Great specials for the happy hour! From 5pm to 6:30pm and again from 9pm until closing at 10pm. The small "bar bites" are $7.00 and larger ones are $8.00, what a deal. Check it out the small ones you can chose for $7.00 are: iceberg wedge potato chips and blue cheese and Parmesan truffle fries. The large ones (again for $8.00) are crab spinach dip, crab cakes, tuna tacos(my favorite) steak tacos, fillet mignon trio bites(again my fav) or three cheese burger sliders(great) and finally four fillet mignon sliders. Nice for a late night after work snacks/dinner on a budget and great drink specials too. As for dinner, it's Morton's - good steak, good food good atmosphere - my 5 stars are for the specials because at that price point and the quality you can't beat it with a stick. read more

I will say this was mine and my wife's first time dining at this restaurant and really made the choice because they were the only ones open and taking an 8:30pm on Monday Oct, 11 2021. I was so excited to find a place open these days as this is my wife's actual birthday. I will start that I thought it was a bit strange that I received a call from them at 4:30pm to confirm the reservation but thought hey they must be busy and confirming room. We arrived 10 mins prior to our reservation and from that moment were made to feel as if we were not welcomed. With the most unexcited tone the hostess exclaimed that she knows who we must be and explained several times on the way to the table there was plenty of room as we were the last people dining. No mention of my wife's birthday. We the met Isabell our waitress and continued the downhill trend. We ordered our drinks immediately and placed an order for the basic seafood platter. Again no mention of my wife's birthday. We were delivered our food and drinks promptly but within 5 mins they came back and had started asking for main orders. No big deal, we were ready and had gotten the message this was meant to be fast. But then before we had been there another 10 mins the waitress came back with the main course. We ordered drinks and an 80 dollar appetizer and had less then 15 mins before they were shoved to the side and everything was on the table. At this point the I think the GM stopped by but having never introduced himself I'm not sure who he was or why he was there. But Isabelle took this as a great opportunity to ask if we would want dessert and she could just put it in a box for us. Again no mention of my wife's birthday. By now we had enough of the bad experience and were done. I did not touch my second drink nor did my wife touch her main course. We told Isabelle the we wanted boxes and she dropped them off at the table with no offer to help pack. We received the check and after 55 total minutes and $340 dollars later I was left feeling as if this was our worst fine dining experience ever. A total bummer of a birthday for my wife. read more

Came here to take advantage of their North Shore Restaurant Month special which is a three course Prix Fixe menu. It was still on the pricey side but we did learn that this special is available year round. Good to know! In general - choice of soup or salad, a 6oz filet and then choice of bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp Alexander or crab cake then choice of dessert. You do get a side. I chose the twice baked au gratin potatoes as my side and I don't think that I could have chosen better! They were decadent and oh so delicious. I will choose them every time! You should too. The price? $64 per person. Not too bad but then add a drink and tip and you are at about $100 per head. Reasonable for a special occasion I think. We visited on a Friday in early September. We are relatively new to MN so I asked my golf partner about a good steak house and he suggested this one and noted top prices. We were not disappointed. The drinks at the bar were expertly mixed. The French onion soup was one of the best we have had anywhere in the world. We shared a shrimp cocktail that was superb. Huge fresh shrimp with a superb sauce. We had chateaubriand with bearnaise which was outstanding and worth every penny. Perfectly prepared medium rare and carved table side. The wine selection was extensive. Service impeccable. It was a memorable evening and I would rate this one of the finest steak houses in the US, including Chicago and New York. Wow. If I could give them 6 stars I would. The atmosphere is relaxed and classic. Our server Cici was great. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and very personable. Now on to the food. I don't remember the last time a restaurants food impressed me this much. The bread was warm and soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. For an appetizer I got the tuna tower which was fresh, huge delicious chunks of tuna mixed with fresh creamy avocado and other seasonings. It had a both creamy and crunchy texture and a delightful amount of spice that didn't over power the dish in the least. It's served with these wonderful chips that were like dried pita bread. They were sturdy enough to hold the tuna mixture with out crumbling and didn't fall apart when you took a bite. Additionally they had this very mild almost corn like flavor. For dinner I had the miso glazed sea bass served with bok choy. It was fantastic. Light, fresh, with a mild almost sweet taste. The box choy was crunchy and mild as well. With both the appetizer and the main course it was all I could do not to lick my plate. We also got the garlic mashed potatoes. Creamy garlicky goodness. As for dessert we split the chocolate soufflé. Now I'm genuinely not a huge soufflé fan. I think the chocolate running out is just a waste of chocolate and messy I also find the taste overly sweet at times. Not the case with this soufflé at al. The inside was creamy but not runny and held together, the cake was moist. The taste was perfect chocolaty but not overly rich. It was perfect. They also know how to make a sidecar something a lot of places don't know how to do. What a truly wonderful experience. We will return soon. read more

I'm just going to come out and say this first, people with money come here. Our dining experience was so so. We had reservations and was seated right away however, we sat for 10 minutes before our waitress came. I liked the menu and the choices. However, I do not agree with the "a la carte." A meal that cost $60.00 should come with a side! I don't care how much money you have! I had a coming to Jesus meeting to decide whether or not the sour cream mashed potatoes was going to be worth the $13.00 that I was going to pay. We also ordered a salad (add $15). I ordered the crab cake with three shrimp and two bacon-wrapped scallop. Worth $60.00? HELL-NO. Truthfully, it was okay. The crab cake lacked flavor. The shrimp...well it was shrimp, nothing extravagant. Scallops- good with the bacon, but then again bacon taste good with everything =) The ambiance- It's a big dining room. Not much room for an intimate meal with a significant other. In fact, we photobombed the couple sitting next to us, we were that close. If you want a good place to people watch and play "I wonder what they do for a living" then this is the place to go. I can't even say that the food and prices are comparable to Wild Fire because its not. It wasn't a horrible experience, just not a place for us. read more

Used to have an amazing burger KEY WORD USED TO. So disappointed went last night with wife and son and one of the worse meals I've had ever. My waiter was however very good and the service was good but the food was uneditable. $25 for basically a terrible meatball on a bun. It was packed so tight and pressed it only for on half the bun and it was also burnt. It had zero flavor Morton's should be embarrassed putting food out like that and charging almost $100 for 3 burgers I Honeslty would have preferred Burger King. During my last visit in Chicago, I had dinner here with two of my best friends. It was my first time and I will definitely go back. From service to last bite of food, everything was flowing perfectly. The bread and butter made a nice snack while deciding on the order. The oysters were perfectly chilled and so delicious.... the steak was juicy and cooked to order. We even succumbed to ordering desert. We had so much fun, I forgot to take photos. Consistent. Excellent cuts of steak and friendly staff. It comes with a price tag that's hard to swallow, but it's a dining experience that even your tastebuds will thank you for. If you like a good filet, make sure you get the "bone in". The meat falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. Looking for a good side? The creamed spinach compliments the flavors of the meat. A chopped salad to begin with...hint; add the lumped crab meat. And for desert...don't forget to order the chocolate soufflé when ordering your entree as it does take some time to prepare. The meat at Morton's is sourced from Allen Bros; so you know it's top quality. We dined here on a Sunday, so the place wasn't as crowded with business diners M-Th or large groups typical on a Fri/Sat night. Overall the experience was good, but for the prices they charge: I am not sure it's really worth it, unless you have $ to burn or an expense account to charge. In terms of presentation for a "high class(cost)" lobster bisque: I expect the server to bring a bowl and then pour the bisque over the lobster meat in the bowl. I have had this done at multiple places, including some that charge less than Morton's. Anything less, comes off a lazy. My steak was cooked "ok", I asked for Med and it was more on the Med/Rare side. Also my filet didn't have the char marks one would expect from a true proper steak prep. My son had the rack of lamb; which is a huge portion and tasted great; but again more on the undercooked side of Med. We didn't send them back, because they tend to then overcook the meat; which we both would rather avoid. When you figure a cost of about $100/head with app, drink, dessert and side to share: I am not sure Morton's delivers a good value. read more

Bad experience. After many good and great ones. Is everyone entitled to a bad night? Not when it comes to food preparation. People yes. People have bad days. Food preparation has to be consistent or corrected at this level. Went to the bar on Thursday as we have many times in the past. Ordered the crab cake and regular beef mini burgers and a few other items. Inedible. And the burgers were raw. Like someone who doesn't know how to cook burned the outside and left the inside raw. Sent back. Came back round two, raw. The crab cakes were simply inedible. The fries were raw. The mini wedge salad thing was fine. Overall terrible. Terrible. If you hide a secret camera into this place you could make a new Bravo show about Real Housewives of the North Shore. There are more cougars in this bar than any other spot in the North Shore. Seriously beware of the ladies who lunch! I do have to say that despite potential cougar attacks this place has very good food. If you sit in the bar they have unbeatable food specials that last all night! You can get almost any appetizer on their menu for $5-6 dollars. My family comes in here quite often and we tend to make a meal out of it. The service is also first class. They make sure that you are well attended to and that your food is cooked just the way you like it. read more

Since my last experience at Morton's (downtown) was a decent one (bad date but great steak), I dragged my husband here for our monthly date. We started off with these pomegranate mojitinis which were sweet but really good. Our server, Laura, was super friendly and very helpful. The bread roll was amazingly good and my husband couldn't stop grabbing more of it. However, that's when we stopped being impressed. We started off both with the caesar salad which had a fishy aftertaste and I ended up stopping after the first couple bites. Later, our server confirmed the fishy taste and said that they used an anchovy paste in their caesar salad. We then moved onto our appetizers - my husband's shrimp alexander was amazing - that sauce was just melt in your mouth good! My crabcake was mediocre - generously sized but a bit on the dry side. Both of us were very disappointed in our filets. They were burnt on the outside and barely tender on the inside. We each had maybe two slices each and decided to stop. We had two sides to our filets - steamed asparagus with hollandaise and potato skins. The asparagus was fine but the hollandaise sauce was a bit too watery for my taste. The cool thing about the potato skins was how someone came over and offered us butter, sour cream and bacon bits over it, however, I was not impressed with the potato skins either. Service was a bit slow and we did have quite a wait in between courses, so by this point, we were tired and not happy with our entrees - we ended up trying their desserts and the molten chocolate cake was delish whereas the key lime pie left me desiring something else. Overall, I'd skip Morton's because of the poor meat that we had and will go to Pete Miller's anyday over Morton's. read more

Very unhappy with this meal. I placed an order at 137pm for 520 pickup. When I arrived, with my order confirmation, I was told that the location did not have the order. I was asked to wait, which I did. In retrospect, I wish I had requested a refund and gone on my way. When the order came to me, I checked the bags before driving away, and discovered that the cheesecake was missing. C'mon. A restaurant of the Morton's caliber should double check an already unsatisfactory experience. When I arrived home, 10 minutes away, the au gratin potatoes were cold, as if they had never been baked. Overall, our Morton's experience was very disappointing. Sadly, friends that knew our plan to order Christmas dinner from you, are also disappointed to hear about this. A few weeks ago Morton's had a great offer where you could order, for pick up, a steak sandwich for only $1.00. I believe it normally costs $8.00. Since I ordered the fillet sandwich many times before, I was excited as it is usually made with a 2 Oz fillet cut of beef with a delicious mayo mustard spread on a toasted bun. I called in and ordered a few of the sandwiches. The woman on the phone was rude, didn't allow me to choose a pick up time within the promotional period time slot, and told me I had to pick up the sandwiches at 5 pm. When I got there at exactly 5 pm, there was a long line of cars ahead of me. After waiting in line for about 40 minutes , it was finally my turn to pick up the food. However, the woman who was delivering sandwiches for some reason ignored my car and kept walking to cars behind my car. I finally got out of the car and politely inquired about my order. She shouted to get back in the car and move aside. When I finally got my sandwiches and brought them home, I was even further disappointed with their quality. They seemed about half their normal size with an extremely small amount of the mayo mustard sauce and beef. Also, instead of individual buns, Morton took a large bun and cut it into quarters. The quality that I've come to know and expect from Morton's was completely non existent, and the great promotion turned into a great disappointment for both quality of food and service. read more

This place is so good!!! Food is top notch, the steak melts in your mouth!! Sides are good as while too. The service in this place is really good happy and friendly. Made us feel good by pulling out the chairs and also putting our names on our menu for our 10 year anniversary. I will go back to this place and definitely recommend to anyone one else. read more

Let me preface this review with the fact that I am not a Midwestern hick. I may have grown up outside of Chicago, but my idea of fine cuisine is not Cheesecake Factory, and I genuinely think that Morton's, despite its chain nature, is the place to get a really lovely and totally orgiastic feast (or a quiet family dinner, which is how we usually roll) on the North Shore! I've been to Morton's on several occasions, and we ended up there last night after calling literally 10 restaurants near our house on a random Wednesday and being told that we would have to wait at least 45 min for a table anywhere, which we all deemed unacceptable given than Hanger was approaching quickly. We ripped into their warm oniony bread with gusto (though the butter, which was rock solid, took a bit more finessing), and listened to Howard, our waiter, point at the obscenely large cuts of meat and hold a 3485 lb lobster in my face. Characteristically we all went for the fish, Chilean sea bass (grilled simply, hold the pineapple shit) and the salmon in a beurre blanc sauce. Both were wonderful--simple but delicious. We also did a baked potato (dry, not worth it) and the spinach and shrooms (yes!). Feeling bold, we split two behemoth desserts--the key lime pie and the carrot cake. The pie is some of the best I've had outside of the south, though could have been a bit more tart, the crust is wonderful. The carrot cake is UNREAL. I hate cake. It toys with my emotions, pulling me in w/ frosting, and then dashing my dreams w/ dryness, but I do like carrot cake b/c it's usually moist. And let me tell you, this was amongst the moistest I've ever encountered. The frosting is lighter than a traditional CC, but 100% worth the calories. Thank for Morton's, for making it worth it for me to have a hard time fitting into my clothes this morning. read more

Service doesn't seem to be at the same customary elevated standard. New owners appear to be cutting back on staff, which means service can't attain formerly high performance. Sat at bar table the other night and service was so slow that we left and went to nearby prairie grass, which was ashame because we always enjoy Morton's. The few staff members present were working very hard but there just weren't enoguht to cover the business. Like others we go here because of the high-touch customer service, so if that's missing there are plenty of alternatives.....Morton's cant lose positioning at high-end of market. Came here for a birthday with a semi-large party. Greeted and seated in our own private dining room. Menus had a Happy Birthday plus the name of the guest on the header. Nice touch! Like other high end steak places, the sides are huge. I would recommend ordering a variety of sides and sharing. Especially if most of the party you are with are ordering steaks. I had a ribeye. Steak was cooked to my liking. Wife had the salmon. Both were excellent. Staff was very accommodating and even cut the birthday cake we brought and served it to each guest. read more
