Was there for Portland dining month. The course was amazing. Everything tasted good and was cooked to perfection. French onion soup was top notch. Finish with key lime pie - good balance of tartness and sweet. Filet was cooked medium and melted in my mouth. Also professional and attentive bartenders (was sitting at the bar). Atmosphere is private but open with nice lights

This was by far one of the best meals and service experiences I have ever had. The ambiance was romantic, the food was delectable. Highly recommend the seared scallops and au gratin. Amazing place!

Food~It was absolutely amazing and, I had the 8 oz Filet Mignon (cooked a lil under medium well it was perfect! Caesar Salad was very fresh, green, and tasted really good (2 people could share it) But, those Oysters Dynamite were simply delicious (order 2 but, I could've eaten 5). Sour cream and chives mash potatoes were good but, needed salt and pepper. Service~We were there for a birthday party and, our server was Willam when I tell you he was the most warmest and friendliest person I've came across in a while. Even through he was working a few other tables (it was a full house) he was on point with whatever we needed. Ambiance~I was able to get a park right in the front. But, it's street and garage parking near by. It's been a very long time since I've eaten at Morton's but, it's just as phenomenal as I remember it being! I highly recommend you check out their happy hour or dinner service you will not be disappointed!!!

Such good food and great atmosphere! My friend and I ordered off of the bar bites menu during their happy hour, which I highly recommend. We shared several plates and our server (Justin) was amazing and had great recommendations. The food came out hot and quick. Definitely recommend for a nice evening for drinks and dinner.

Morton's steakhouse Portland, Oregon, March 23, 2025. They serve fresh bread, complimentary. It had lots of salty garlic on it which was a little bit too much for me but the bread underneath was pretty good. Came with a nice dish of butter. The bread was quite crumbly as the waiter admitted and I guess it would've been nice if they had one of those crumb scraping tools that I've seen other nice restaurants just a suggestion - not a criticism. Was served a Stella Artois beer - nice and cold, was very good. Caesar salad - the dressing was not creamy enough. The salad was a little bit less than super tasty overall. The 8oz. filet mignon medium rare came out perfectly. Every bite was superb. The spinach and mushroom sauté was also delicious - it had a nice garlic butter sauce. Interesting combination. Overall very good - met expectations of a Morton's - fine dining steakhouse experience.

The restaurant is classy and fancy. We (my cousin and I) arrived with no reservation on a Monday night, almost at closing. I was a little worried I was not appropriately dressed for the restaurant but I was worried for nothing. I had on dark clothing and a fancy jacket. We requested a voter booth to the host and were promptly seated. The dining area is huge, plenty of space. This would be a good place to host business meetings. Our waiter was cordial and explained the menu to us. My cousin has been here before; she loves the steak here. She let the waiter know that we would be sharing and ordered us a chefs selection of oysters and scallops for our appetizers. For our sides, we ordered Parmesan & truffle matchstick fries, roasted jumbo asparagus, lobster pasta, Cajun prime rib, and creme brûlée for dessert. Our waiter asked if we wanted bread for the table but we politely declined. He was nice enough to bring us some anyways. Our appetizers were delicious, especially the oysters. Very unique blend of flavor. Our dinner was served in a timely manner. Everything was great and complemented well with each item on the menu. The prime steak was medium rare as we asked, very juicy. Once we were done eating, we asked for boxes for the leftovers. Waiter packed our food himself and gave us our goody bag. It was an enjoyable experience.

We popped in around 5 for drinks at the bar before the Sailor Moon show across the street in March. We had some time to kill before our 630 dinner reservation. We were greeted kindly, and felt super welcomed, with the staff prepared to chat about Sailor Moon. Which I thought was a wholesome touch, knowing the type of restaurant/bar goers they'd have for the day. We sat at the bar for a few minutes and a table opened earlier for us to move over to. The food was absolutely delicious! My friend and I got the lobster mac and cheese, the Wagyu meatballs (forgot to get a photo), their gratin, and one of their steaks to split family style. After ordering our drinks and food, they brought over bread and butter for the table. We both thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered, including the drinks! The lobster mac and cheese had a good amount of lobster, and it was balanced well with the creamy cheese sauce. My friend isn't a huge fan of seafood but she was pleasantly surprised with how tasty it was. The steak was requested to be cooked medium rare, and was done fantastic. The vibe is a very dim lit, overall relaxing enjoyable environment to be in for a date, get together, and I even saw families celebrating birthdays. I definitely want to be back with my partner to try more menu items!

The food and customer service is always top notch! As a Presidential member with a wine locker in Portland, and Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, I can personally attest to the staff here being a CUT-ABOVE.... Thank you to my waiter and friend, Shane, for always being so kind and polite yet always helpful and personable. As for the Mgr. on duty, Kim, she is so sweet and kind going out of her way to accomodate fellow guests. She is the epitome of a professional who carries herself with the utmost class and kindness. Thank you Mortons for an enjoyable evening once again. This is my 3rd dinner in the past 8 days here, and love them all. Respectfully, PaulMichael & Alla Moore

They started us off with a lovely cold soup, if I recall correctly leek and potato, and from there moved right into a lineup of heavy-hitting dishes that were packed with flavor. The beef tongue a la vinagreta was absolutely dynamite. Each piece of carpaccio was cut to the perfect thickness, which let it stand up beautifully to the punchiness of the spicy horseradish, acidic caper vinaigrette, earthy fried sweetbreads, and creamy ensalada rusa (potato salad). The clam chowder came out next, and while it was good as a standalone chowder, it was the one course that fell a little short for me. With smoked bone marrow in the mix and at the fairly high price point, I expected it to be more of a knockout, but it unfortunately just did not quite come together the way I hoped as the piece of marrow felt more decorative than additive to the flavors overall. Of course, we had to order one of the asados, so we opted for one of my absolute favorite cuts in the skirt steak and it did not disappoint! The steak was incredibly tender, cooked to perfection, and paired beautifully with their house made chimichurri sauce. Overall, it was a fantastic meal with great portions relative to the prices, and I'm definitely looking forward to returning next time I'm in the area to try some of the other offerings that we simply did not have the stomach space to try on this visit.

Our server asked if we wanted to "substitute" the veggies for the potato. We said sure and thought nothing of it. The steak came out split and cooked to perfection (although she ordered us the bone in) and both sides were very good. Paired w/cab franc and nebbiolo. Upon finishing our meal and boxing up some leftovers our server brought by the dessert menu. I was surprised as we saw a few celebratory desserts hit different tables, but ordered a dessert and glass of port. She brought two desserts, sputtering out happy anniversary. There were many large seating area available. One main cedar table was a big attraction. There is a fireplace with a table by it We got a table. I ordered a Borgona, fruit puree juices mix with Sprite. Never had one, but sounded really good. It came and it was delicious and fruity for a mocktail. We ordered a shrimp ceviche and octopus skewers to start out with. The Shrimp Ceviche was very delicious and it was something that I was very happy to share it with my friends. It was a big portion of shrimp cocktail with salsa on the bottom and these large sized blue chips. It was so good that we ate it quickly. Octopus skewers was a tad charred. Yet very delicious especially if you eat it with the pineapple together. Brings out the flavor of the pineapples quite well. We ordered the Pork Belly Tacos and Mole Shrimp Tacos which came in 3. I absolutely loved street tacos filled with good fresh ingredients. And both of these hot the spot. The pork belly was an absolute great flavor of the pork belly. The Shrimp was delicious. Cook perfectly and easy to devour quickly. DeFuego Nachos had Jalapenos. But wasn't listed. The nachos were delicious and it was quickly devoured. Wings came in 4 wings with garlic parmesan with carrots and celery and ranch on the platter. Heavily garlic on the wings yet very delicious. Half wedge salad was a surprise how much there is in the salad. A lot of fresh veggies there with cherry tomatoes and sliced radishes in it. I had a absolutely fun experience celebrating my birthday here. DeFuego had Happy Hour from 3pm to 6pm, seven days out of the week. Seems the Happy Hour here is very popular. You have 21 appetizers to choose from on the Happy Hour Menu. There are Mocktails, and any drinks you want available. Definitely will come back again.

Shoot. Last night I took my boyfriend here to celebrate a special event & we left so disappointed!…read moreWe got there at 7:15 & we were stuck there for over 2 hours! I ordered 2 things and both came out wrong. Our waitress spoke very loudly and we could hear her having long personal conversations with people a couple tables away from us for 10+ minutes at a time, several times. While we waited for her, we ran out of water a few times and I had to ask for more. It was over an hour before our order was even taken. We did flag her down to order an appetizer, brussel sprouts with cheese on the side due to a dairy allergy, but... the sprouts came out with cheese on them. They corrected this fairly promptly, but then we sat for another 45 minutes before our order was actually taken. I ordered a steak as "somewhere between medium & medium well" and she correctly repeated my order back to me "medium/medium well." When the steak came out, it was WELL well done. Like, burnt. I wanted to send it back, but I didn't want to deal with the embarrassment or have to wait even longer for food. We were about an hour & 45 minutes into dinner by the time we got our food. I was so disappointed! I also wanted to get dessert to celebrate the occasion but the service was SO slow that we had to cancel our after-dinner plans. We ordered it anyway & requested the check promptly, giving up on our plans for the rest of the evening. We were only a party of 2, we arrived early for our reservation, & we watched several larger parties come and go while we waited for our order to even be taken. It was a Wednesday night and not overly busy, there were several empty tables, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. We were also seated at an odd table next to the kitchen with a small divider between us and the staff. It was noisy and I even heard 2 staff members exchange a joke about how someone else had left & said they'd never come back. They laughed about it. I wish I had the guts those people had to get up & leave! I've never once left less than a 20% tip and felt immense guilt not tipping well, but after experiencing the poor service then also hearing the staff blatantly acknowledge it & not care.... I was appalled. The Hilton bought the hotel attached to De Fuego and I'm shocked. This was a Monarch hotel before and I'd assume that the Hilton's standards would be higher but the service and quality here have tanked hopelessly low since the acquisition. I had a similar experience at The Underground before it closed. I've learned my lesson & won't come here for a special occasion again.
