I would have given 5 stars but there were some minor concerns. I will say this.. the food is absolutely 5 stars : my filet mignon was tender, large, delicious and amazing! It was a 12 oz medium rare and really thick! Juicy and flavorful. The bacon macaroni & cheese is the best you can get anywhere! They put Sambal Olek, a chili sauce in the mix which gives it a kick! This is not your children's Mac & Cheese.. It's definitely for adults The Caesar salad had very little dressing on it and was $16, so overpriced. It was above average but I don't recommend it. The bread they put on the table was crumbly and made a big mess. Very difficult to cut with the knife. Not recommended. The waitress kept coming over, interrupting us every few minutes, which was annoying. I handed a different waitress my Coke, asking for a refill and she never returned, even though she claimed she was filling in for the main one on break. I came here for dinner with friends. No reservations walk in, and we were seated immediately. We sat at a booth in the middle of the restaurant. Nothing about the place looked extravagant or fancy, but it has $$$$ listed on Yelp so I thought maybe the service and food would be top notch. Our host showed us our table, which he had to slide out so we can get into the booth. But he tried to do it with one hand which he couldn't really control. When he pushed the table back in, it slid so fast that it was right by my ribs since I sat center. He did retract the table but would have been easier on him to just ask someone else. When we left, no one moved the table for us. Service was inconsistent for a place that's supposed to fine dining. Our server did the basic. Took our order, gave a general recommendation for drinks since one of my friend nicely asked for one, brought out the food, boxed our food, and brought the check. Someone else came by throughout dinner to refill water. For food and drinks: We ended up getting a couple of drinks, all martinis. Cherry blossom was fragrant but weak, espresso martini was classic but also weak. The table did order two orders of ribeye medium rare but they came out looking pretty charred. I didn't try it so can't say if charred was good or not. The potatoes au gratin was a thick layer of cheese on top and scalloped potatoes under. Not cheese or creamy throughout, and the layer of cheese on top hardened so fast. The truffle Parmesan fries were alright. Matchsticks yet they weren't very crispy. To be fair, I ordered them as is without indicating that they should be crispy. That's how the restaurant like matchstick fries I guess. The Maine lobster ravioli was a disappointment. There were large pieces of lobster inside the ravioli, but the cream sauce was overly dense and add the Parmesan on top killed it. Maybe a light toss in butter with pepper would serve the lobster better. The bread for the table had to be in a bad day. It was dry and crumbling on the outside and lacking inside. All the butter served with it could not save it. Also, you'll end up with all the crumbs on your lap napkin. 3 drinks, one appetizer, two side dishes, two ribeyes, and one lobster ravioli. I had the best dining experience while visiting San Jose, and it all happened at Morton's. The entire evening was exceptional -- from the warm, attentive service to the elevated atmosphere and, of course, the unforgettable food. Their Power Hour is easily one of the best Happy Hour menus I've seen. I ordered the Shrimp Louie wedge bites, smash burger sliders, and the parmesan truffle matchstick fries -- every dish was flavorful, perfectly prepared, and surprisingly generous for Happy Hour. A special shoutout to the Assistant GM Jazz, who offered fantastic food suggestions and spot‑on wine pairings. GIFT CARD STEAK About three Christmases ago I received a $50 gift card of a restaurant group that includes a list of restaurants. One of those restaurants listed is Morton's The Steakhouse. I didn't know when I was going to Morton's during that time. I decided to come on Tuesday evening the day before Ash Wednesday. My server was Shelli. For steak I asked her what section she would recommend either the Midwest Beef or Butcher Cuts. She never mentioned what section but pointed to two steaks she likes the bone-in ribeye and wagyu filet mignon. Since I prefer my steak with a bone I ordered the bone-in ribeye. For starter I asked her about the Nueske's bacon steak. Shelli stated for starters the Shimp Calabria was her favorite. I ordered the Shrimp Calabria. Before coming to Morton's I thought about ordering only two items however I felt I needed a side for my ribeye. Also as I had a $50 gift card ordering one more item wouldn't be too expensive for my dinner. Shelli mentioned about the sauteed spinach and button mushrooms. I ended up ordering that side. Lastly she asked if I wanted bread. I am a sucker for bread at restaurants so I replied yes. The bread had a crunchy crust and warm inside. Then I realized the Shrimp Calabria comes with a toasted baguette. I thought the bread would be a filler. The first dish was the Shrimp Calabria. The sauce on this dish is addictive. Whether dipping the toasted baguette or the shrimp on the sauce I couldn't stop eating the sauce. Since I had bread I dipped it on the sauce. The next dishes to arrive were the bone-in ribeye along with the sauteed spinach and mushrooms. I love mushrooms as a side order for steak because the umami of the mushrooms enhances the beef flavor of the steak. The ribeye was cooked to my liking of medium-rare. The steak was juicy. However the ribeye lacked flavor. I was surprised because bone-in steaks add flavor. The ribeye I ate at Morton's was delicious, but I expected more in terms of taste. For three dishes the bill came to $129 but with the $50 gift card applied my bill was $79. Out of the three dishes the Shrimp Calabria was the best. If an appetizer is better than an entree as a rule of mine I can't rate a restaurant a 4-star. However the service from Shelli was a 5-star. Maybe if I come to Morton's in the future I will order the wagyu filet mignon as suggested by Shelli. read more

Man, had a day off and my wife and I decided to come try their Power Hour bar bites. At first we almost didn't since we were pretty dressed down, but everyone else at the bar was too so we felt better about stopping in. Honestly, how have we not done this sooner? We ordered the wagyu sliders, shrimp Louie wedge bites , the petite prime sandwich, and of course the hot chocolate cake for dessert. Had a couple Mortinis with Grey Goose as well. Legit a great place to get a solid meal during happy hour and you get the onion bread. What more can you ask for? Service was just okay, but they were pretty busy so it was understandable. We came specifically for the Veuve Clicquot limited January special, which included two sliders, truffle fries, and a glass of Veuve (their "adult happy meal"), available for the month of January only. It was such a fun and delicious special. We also ordered additional sides like the Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts, and they were both very good. Our server, Jennifer, was amazing--super helpful and attentive throughout the night. Even though we had a Friday 9:00 PM reservation, we arrived early and were seated at a dining table. The Veuve special was technically for the bar area only, but Jennifer went out of her way to check if it could be served in the dining area, which worked out perfectly. As of today (2/2/26), Morton's still shows as 184 Market St. in San Jose online. They are NOT at that location anymore. The new address is 170 S. Market St. This was extremely frustrating and caused an unnecessary detour, but thankfully it didn't dim the enjoyment of my overall experience. I came specifically for Morton's Bubbles & Bites event -- which I've officially deemed the adult version of a Happy Meal. This special includes: * Your choice of 2 mini smash cheeseburgers or chicken sandwiches * An order of truffle fries * A glass of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label or a Belvedere martini Important note: Bubbles & Bites is only available in the bar area, and seating is VERY limited. I arrived at 4:20 PM (they open at 4:00 PM), and more than half the seats were already taken. To paint the picture: * 7 bar chairs (5 were taken) * Three hi-top tables (one with 4 chairs, two with 2 chairs) * One longer table that seats about 6 (already taken) Translation: Get there BEFORE they open if you actually want to enjoy happy hour without the stress. Now let's talk about my Adult Happy Meal. I chose the smash burgers + a glass of Veuve Clicquot, because... priorities. My husband and I love going to Morton's especially new locations. Parking is tight at this location since it's downtown so your best bet are the parking garages that may take 10 min walking to the restaurant. Service was 10/10! Rogelio was amazing and VERY knowledgeable. He was also quite attentive to us even though we were the only ones sitting outside on the patio. We were sooooo disappointed in the food. We ordered two of the 16 oz prime Cajun ribeye, classic Cesar salad, king crab whipped potatoes, and lobster macaroni shells and cheese. The ribeye was unfortunately TOO salty. We didn't even finish it. The seafood for both the whipped potatoes and Mac and cheese were not prepared well and had a really strong "fishy smell" and the seasoning was lacking as well. We get these dishes all the time so I'm not sure if we went when they were having an off night. The salad was great and the crème brûlée dessert was also great. Our booth was lovely and comfy, but table space was sacrificed for the food we ordered. LOL If you're sitting in the middle of the booth, it is a little awkward getting in and out. The table feet are on rollers to alleviate that, but it's still a little wonky. The restaurant is stunning in its black/white and crystal lighting decor. Morton's has a Business Casual dress code. "Proper Attire Required". Yes! Rogelio answered our many questions about the cocktails and food offerings. We enjoyed our interaction with him, which made our evening at Morton's even more enjoyable! Date night with my husband and it couldn't have been better! Morton's never fails. Our waitress was so awesome, I don't remember her name but she was intuitive to our needs yet not pushy. I started with a decaf espresso. I do wish they had raw sugar packets, especially for an upscale place. The espresso was perfectly smooth. We ate the crab cake before I took a photo but oh my word it was so good! Real crab, lightly fried. Even the little arugula salad that comes with it was good. A bit tart but bright. We split the 12oz filet cooked (perfectly) medium rare) with truffle butter on top. Sour cream mashed potatoes fully loaded and sauteed mushrooms with spinach. This was the perfect portion to split. We ordered the Oyster Dynamite for appetizer, 16 oz Proprietary Prime Cajun Ribeye with Béarnaise Sauce and 16 oz Ribeye (Medium Rare) with Whipped Horseradish Cream for our mains, Sauteed Spinach and Button Mushrooms for our side, and a Crème Burlee for dessert. The waiter started us off with complementary Onion Bread and Salted Butter (4 out of 5) as we waited for our food. The bread was warm, soft, and fluffy with a mild onion flavor. I spread the butter immediately so that it could melt on the bread, simple yet soo delicious. The Oyster Dynamite (2 out of 5) which comes with 4 oysters topped with melted cheese and a generous amount of crab lumps. The aroma was amazing. But, the taste was a bit disappointing, it was extremely salty. It over powered the dish, I could not taste the miso or siracha notes. The oysters could have been cleaned a little bit better, 3 of the 4 had a gritty texture, still some sand or sediments in them. The oyster itself was very tender, was delicious. I paired the oyster with the bread to cut out the saltiness which kind of worked. 16 oz Proprietary Prime Cajun Ribeye (4 out of 5) was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The meat was juicy and tender. The hint of spices really elevated the steak. There were a few spots that tasted burnt, but I highly recommended ordering this over the normal Ribeye. I ordered an enhancement for extra $, Bearnaise Sauce (1.5 out of 5). I was a bit disappointed in the flavor, it was overly acidic, tasted more sour than the rich, buttery balance that you normally expect. And for some reason I kept tasting a noticeable coconut flavor, maybe from coconut oil? It was unexpected as Bearnaise is my go to sauce. My partner ordered the 16 oz Ribeye (3/5) with the Whipped Horseradish Cream (2/5)enhancement. The steak was very tender and juicy, simply seasoned with salt. Unfortunately, the cut of the ribeye was missing the cap on this one. It would have been nice to have both the cap and the eye. The Whipped Horseradish needed more horseradish, it just tasted like cream with some seasoning. The Spinach and Button Mushrooms (3.5 out of 5). It was good, the sauce was savory and light. The mushrooms had a slight bitterness to them, wondering if the spinach bitterness leeched onto the mushroom. The Crème Brulee (3.5 out of 5), perfect sweetness for me (not too sweet). The chops were a generous portion (8 chops or so), they are served on a sauce that was pretty tasty. The service was as excellent as I remembered. They take extremely good care of you which makes the dining expereince extra special. We had a reservation and got their on time. We got seated in a room off of the main restaurant where the ambiance was completely different from the rest of the restaurant. It felt as if we weren't actually in the restaurant. We were dressed nicely so it wasn't the dress code. It took 20 minutes for the server to come greet us and take drink orders, then an additional 15 minutes and us asking for water to get our glasses filled. By the time we got our main dish, it had been an hour and 20 minutes. On Tuesday night, I was invited by a coworker to Morton's and it was a fantastic experience. The food and service there is absolutely top-notch. Our server was attentive and helpful with our menu choices which helped make the whole evening more enjoyable. What really stood out was the management. Started out with very slow service and continued that way through the majority of the visit. Wife's steak was supposed to be medium and was close to well done. We went there to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. We got there we cannot sit inside. We had to sit on the patio. I didn't go there to spend 1100 bucks to sit on the patio that was noisy, we couldn't even hear ourselves talking I have eaten at five different Morton's restaurants and this one was the worst I do not recommend families to go there. It's for all the workers in town. I felt like the book the Prince and the popper and I was the popper. The manager sucked first he wouldn't help his employees and then when you tell him something he just walks away doesn't be bothered. I could say a lot more, but I think this is enough for people to get a hint. I still don't know why the reason we couldn't sit inside there was nobody go there again. The food was good and service was attentive. Its very dark in there lol but a quiet/peaceful atmosphere. We used the costco gift card which gave us a great discount. It was a good date night! read more
