For my sister's birthday, we went to Morton's. It has a nice classic steak house decor. The menu had Happy Birthday printed in top, a very nice touch. We had a wedge salad, a strip steak, a filet. And for sides we ordered cream spinach, mac & cheese and a thick onion ring. For her birthday , she got a complimentary flan for dessert with a candle on top. The steaks were done perfectly, and the sides and dessert were all delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. We had a great time.

GIFT CARD STEAK About three Christmases ago I received a $50 gift card of a restaurant group that includes a list of restaurants. One of those restaurants listed is Morton's The Steakhouse. I didn't know when I was going to Morton's during that time. I decided to come on Tuesday evening the day before Ash Wednesday. My server was Shelli. For steak I asked her what section she would recommend either the Midwest Beef or Butcher Cuts. She never mentioned what section but pointed to two steaks she likes the bone-in ribeye and wagyu filet mignon. Since I prefer my steak with a bone I ordered the bone-in ribeye. For starter I asked her about the Nueske's bacon steak. Shelli stated for starters the Shimp Calabria was her favorite. I ordered the Shrimp Calabria. Before coming to Morton's I thought about ordering only two items however I felt I needed a side for my ribeye. Also as I had a $50 gift card ordering one more item wouldn't be too expensive for my dinner. Shelli mentioned about the sauteed spinach and button mushrooms. I ended up ordering that side. Lastly she asked if I wanted bread. I am a sucker for bread at restaurants so I replied yes. The bread had a crunchy crust and warm inside. Then I realized the Shrimp Calabria comes with a toasted baguette. I thought the bread would be a filler. The first dish was the Shrimp Calabria. The sauce on this dish is addictive. Whether dipping the toasted baguette or the shrimp on the sauce I couldn't stop eating the sauce. Since I had bread I dipped it on the sauce. The next dishes to arrive were the bone-in ribeye along with the sauteed spinach and mushrooms. I love mushrooms as a side order for steak because the umami of the mushrooms enhances the beef flavor of the steak. The ribeye was cooked to my liking of medium-rare. The steak was juicy. However the ribeye lacked flavor. I was surprised because bone-in steaks add flavor. The ribeye I ate at Morton's was delicious, but I expected more in terms of taste. For three dishes the bill came to $129 but with the $50 gift card applied my bill was $79. Out of the three dishes the Shrimp Calabria was the best. If an appetizer is better than an entree as a rule of mine I can't rate a restaurant a 4-star. However the service from Shelli was a 5-star. Maybe if I come to Morton's in the future I will order the wagyu filet mignon as suggested by Shelli.

I had the best dining experience while visiting San Jose, and it all happened at Morton's. The entire evening was exceptional -- from the warm, attentive service to the elevated atmosphere and, of course, the unforgettable food. Their Power Hour is easily one of the best Happy Hour menus I've seen. I ordered the Shrimp Louie wedge bites, smash burger sliders, and the parmesan truffle matchstick fries -- every dish was flavorful, perfectly prepared, and surprisingly generous for Happy Hour. A special shoutout to the Assistant GM Jazz, who offered fantastic food suggestions and spot‑on wine pairings. His hospitality truly elevated the experience and made the visit feel curated and memorable. I highly recommend stopping in for Power Hour -- I know I'll be going back.

We came specifically for the Veuve Clicquot limited January special, which included two sliders, truffle fries, and a glass of Veuve (their "adult happy meal"), available for the month of January only. It was such a fun and delicious special. We also ordered additional sides like the Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts, and they were both very good. Our server, Jennifer, was amazing--super helpful and attentive throughout the night. Even though we had a Friday 9:00 PM reservation, we arrived early and were seated at a dining table. The Veuve special was technically for the bar area only, but Jennifer went out of her way to check if it could be served in the dining area, which worked out perfectly. Overall, great food, excellent service, and a really enjoyable experience. Definitely worth a visit--especially if you can catch the January Veuve special!

Man, had a day off and my wife and I decided to come try their Power Hour bar bites. At first we almost didn't since we were pretty dressed down, but everyone else at the bar was too so we felt better about stopping in. Honestly, how have we not done this sooner? We ordered the wagyu sliders, shrimp Louie wedge bites , the petite prime sandwich, and of course the hot chocolate cake for dessert. Had a couple Mortinis with Grey Goose as well. Legit a great place to get a solid meal during happy hour and you get the onion bread. What more can you ask for? Service was just okay, but they were pretty busy so it was understandable. Definitely coming back here for happy hour.

We went for my son's bday dinner. Steaks were delicious. Fries were good. Lobster pasta and salad were just okay. Our steaks were a bit burnt on the outside (unsure if that's how they cooked it). In my reservation, I indicated that it was my son's bday but had to remind the server. She was very nice though. Place was packed and our side looked like an improvised area, with folding tables. It was great to try the place but perhaps won't go back. I understand that quality and experience may suffer because of the Vday specials.

Morton's The Steakhouse - San Jose Because happy moments deserve happy meals... the ADULT version, of course. First things first -- the address. As of today (2/2/26), Morton's still shows as 184 Market St. in San Jose online. They are NOT at that location anymore. The new address is 170 S. Market St. This was extremely frustrating and caused an unnecessary detour, but thankfully it didn't dim the enjoyment of my overall experience. I came specifically for Morton's Bubbles & Bites event -- which I've officially deemed the adult version of a Happy Meal. This special includes: * Your choice of 2 mini smash cheeseburgers or chicken sandwiches * An order of truffle fries * A glass of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label or a Belvedere martini Important note: Bubbles & Bites is only available in the bar area, and seating is VERY limited. I arrived at 4:20 PM (they open at 4:00 PM), and more than half the seats were already taken. To paint the picture: * 7 bar chairs (5 were taken) * Three hi-top tables (one with 4 chairs, two with 2 chairs) * One longer table that seats about 6 (already taken) Translation: Get there BEFORE they open if you actually want to enjoy happy hour without the stress. Now let's talk about my Adult Happy Meal. I chose the smash burgers + a glass of Veuve Clicquot, because... priorities. The burgers were well done, seasoned beautifully, and still juicy in the middle. I wasn't asked how I wanted them cooked, so I'm assuming they all come well done. Normally I'd have thoughts, but honestly? They were still flavorful and juicy, so I had zero complaints. Shoutout to my server, Cameron (or Kameron) -- extremely attentive, patient (because I was indecisive), and kept the bread coming like a true MVP. The General Manager was also very welcoming on this visit (Friday, Jan 30th), came over, had a brief conversation with me, and even shook my hand. I truly appreciate great service and a top-notch experience -- and Cameron made this visit feel especially welcoming and worth returning for. Overall, my experience was great, and the food was YUMMY. The only real setback? You guessed it -- THE ADDRESS. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY. Preferably if Cameron is serving.

This review is long overdue, I went on Christmas which may have affected some things, but overall a good experience. My mom and I sat in the outside area, which next time I would like to try sitting inside for a better vibe. Service was not the fastest but it was busy. I got the lobster ravioli and my mom got the chicken Christopher and we loved both of our dishes. Hack- put the chicken in the lobster ravioli and ommgggg it's so freaking good!!! The bread that comes first is so good I could eat 6 loaves alone of that. The chopped salad was delish and loved the wagyu beef dumplings. All in all a solid meal, I'm excited to go back!

Service was... interesting. They forgot some sides and took forever on drinks so they ended up comping our sides and desserts. Overall, food was good but service could be improved.

We came on a busy weekend while Christmas in the park was happening. Pure chaos on the streets and this was a welcome escape. They had a wait but we found a high top table in the bar. They were SLAMMED, and the bartender profusely apologized for the slow pace from the beginning, but we actually had a great experience. We had sliders, Caesar, filet mignon, and the lava cake and everything was great! I'd say the lava cake was the Star here, so make sure you save room. Despite the long wait, great experience that the bartender and food easily made up for!

he filet mignon tasted better with the butter, and the meat was tender, but it wasn't served hot.

We had a family dinner over the weekend, but unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet our expectations. The appetizers were enjoyable; however, the steaks arrived lukewarm despite being served on "hot plates." Service also fell short of what we had anticipated. The manager did not stop by our table, and our server appeared too busy to provide attentive service throughout the meal. My wine glass remained nearly empty without an offer for a refill, and we eventually had to ask another server to help us settle the bill. Overall, while parts of the meal were pleasant, the experience was disappointing.

My friends and I came here to celebrate my birthday. The ambiance is elegant, quiet and intimate. Candles at the tables and lights dimmed sets the atmosphere. It was really a beautiful place for special celebrations and good conversation. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare, cooked perfectly. We shared some a side of brussel sprouts, one of my favorites. The meal ended with a special dessert with a candle for my birthday. What a happy ending to a beautiful evening. I'd come back and look forward to enjoy another occasion here.

Crab Legs, 1 Lb.- $150 still frozen. Do not get!
    Heidi M.

+1 for the very nice bartenders -1 waitress took 20 mins to greet us, only to tell us she'd be back soon- an additional 15 mins -1 bread and appetizers took about 20-30 mins to arrive -2 (the worst part) $150 king crab legs that were still frozen. -2 Missing 2 sides (salad and baked potato) -1 service was very slow. We sat down at 6:35 and left around 9pm - filet came out Medium well, when I ordered Raw/Medium Rare. they were able to prepare a new one asap - no more molten chocolate cake, but subbed a layered chocolate cake Spent $500 for terrible service and mediocre food

Imperial Filet Mignon, an 8oz. filet topped with a crab cake, served with asparagus and Bearnaise sauce.

After today's visit, though... I finally understand why the second location closed. Ordered: Shackie's Sauce (Hot) Shrimp & Mussels Combo Snow Crab Clusters Garlic Noodles Garlic Fries The seafood boil was nowhere near the quality it used to be. The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. Now they've definitely toned the flavor down, and they're just not the same anymore. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorite seafood spots. The food quality has clearly declined while the prices have continued to go up. I hope they can get back to what made this place so good, but based on today's experience, I can't recommend it anymore.

The seafood was well-seasoned with a nice spicy kick, and our noodles were very garlicky (in a good way). The chicken tenders were also flavorful, but a bit dry (I still like it btw). The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.

Everything we ordered was delicious, and a few dishes were truly outstanding. What we ordered: Uni Pasta: My absolute favorite, and it seems to be their most popular dish for good reason. The sauce was incredibly creamy, rich, and packed with umami flavor. I don't even want to think about the calories, but it was definitely worth every single one. Charred Garlic Oysters: My second favorite and the biggest surprise of the meal. I didn't have high expectations for this dish, but the moment the oyster hit my mouth, it just melted. Smoky, flavorful, rich, and absolutely scrumptious. Oyster Shooter: Also very great. It came with oyster, uni, and a quail egg yolk in soju. Smooth, briny and fun to eat. Tuna Tartare: Probably the most disappointing dish of the night. If I came back, I'd skip this one. It was the blandest tartare I've ever had and lacked the seasoning and flavor I was expecting. Lobster Garlic Noodles: Delicious, but cracking the lobster ourselves was the downside. We appreciated getting all the lobster meat, but breaking down the shell took so much effort that by the time we finished, we had already lost our appetite. We ended up leaving 2/3 of the noodles behind. Next time I'd rather skip this dish or just asked to have the lobster meat removed from the shell. Overall, there were some standout dishes that I'd happily order again and a couple that I wouldn't. Even so, it was a very enjoyable dining experience, and I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

This has to be the most overdue review I've ever written. My wife and I consistently come to Cap't Loui for our beloved Friday date nights at least once a month. We are ALWAYS so impressed with the yummy food (we always get 2lbs shrimp/2lbs crawfish combo in Medium Cap't Loui sauce with garlic noodles, garlic bread, and Cajun fries). Wifey and I are stuffed after this but will cleanse our palate with complimentary popsicles in the freezer by the entrance. So yes, the seafood boil and food is absolutely phenomenal. But even MORE impressive is the generationally excellent customer service, in particular from Aung and Edward. They are true servant leaders and I noticed they take care of each and every patron as if they were family members or royalty. Between the delicious food and the brilliant customer service, you better bet your bottom dollar that my wife and I will continue having our traditional Friday night dates at Cap't Loui!!!!

I've been walking pass their shop many times in Cupertino, a small shop on a clean street next to an underground parking lot. First off, our lunch hour was at 11:45, but by 10:45'sh, food was ready and the catering staff was already working on setting it up. I had fresh salad of tomato and cucumber, seafood boiler with shrimp, and garlic noodle. We ran out of Clam Chowder real quick, so I didn't get to it. The salad was fresh, both tomato and cucumber slices gave this crispy and refreshing taste. Our menu has Seafood Boiler with Shrimp and Veggie Boiler Mix with Fried Tofu, they look like the same sauce, so I chose Shrimp and it was a very wise choice! The sauce was so rich that the shrimps were full of flavors! I am never a fan of peeling shrimps but they are easy to peel, even with my mouth biting them off gently is not that hard. Their garlic noodle is not the same as the Vietnamese kind, it's pasta in garlic sauce, so not the best but acceptable. Overall the shrimps really wow me.

But using that same approach here, we were still very hungry afterward. Not only are the portions extremely small, but the flavors are inconsistent. The xào me was overly salty, while the rang muối ớt was surprisingly bland. On top of that, the presentation was top notched....... the portions are much smaller than what's shown in the photos, vegetables were stale, and there wasn't even any garlic included, despite it being clearly shown on the menu. The gỏi was okay. Will not return.

I wouldn't order this again. * Roasted crab: 5/5 - The highlight of the meal. The crab was big, fresh, and well-cooked. * Crawfish: 3/5 - Flavor was good, but the crawfish were on the smaller side. * Súp măng cua: 1/5 - Disappointing. They used imitation crab and flavor was blank. Soup was not as thick as it's supposed to be. * Beer: 1/5 - Not served cold enough. Would really recommend serving beer ice-cold, and it will be great if they have chilled glasses. Customer service was also quite slow but friendly. Overall, there's room for improvement, especially with drink service and ingredient quality in some dishes. The roasted crab is definitely worth trying, though.
