The Service and owner are the worse. I ordered one tray of teriyaki chicken ($74) to feed my kids and their friends. Right when I get home I notice I did not get teriyaki sauce. I called them to make them aware. I was told to return so I could get the sauce. I was unable to make the trip due to working from home, so My two daughters went to pick up the sauce. I get a call from my girls to let me know they won't give them teriyaki sauce. I speak with the owner and he says he is not giving me anything for free? FOR FREE!!!! I paid $74 for this food tray that should include teriyaki sauce. Again he insists that I won't get anything FREE! What are my options, none!! I am now left with white rice and chicken!! I'm so upset. Please check your bag before you leave the store, what a rip off!! How many people has this happened to? I was a regular since it changed from taco bell to Mos (20 plus yrs) but never again. Owner sucks and so does his service!! This review is long overdue. I enjoy going to this place because the food is really good, the service is quick, and the price is just right. The only downfall of this place would be the parking, since they have very limited parking spots. But besides that it's totally worth. I enjoyed coming here frequently when I went to Santa Ana College. Now I have to stop by when I'm around the area. One plate is more than enough for two people, even those who eat a lot like me. They offer a few different types of meat for the bowls including chicken, beef and some seafood, but I'd stick to the chicken. The beef isn't very good and after you look at the place you'll know why don't want to try to seafood. The chicken is grilled on an open fire grill right behind the cashier and it's always served to you hot and fresh. The gyoza and eggroll that come with the combo plate aren't anything special, but the salad is actually ok. Like most others have said, I probably wouldn't ever want to eat here because the people and neighborhood are pretty sketchy, and for some reason I don't like leaving my car out in their parking lot so I make it a point to order and leave. Where are the negative stars on this rating system? I really hate to do this because I've been coming here for years but my little sister brought something up to my attention and I finally witnessed it first hand! Every time we chose to eat here, we would ask my sister to get off and order the food until one day she refused and said, "NO!, the guys there are perverts!". Neither I nor my brother paid much attention. Then we went back and again she refused to get off the car. So Finally I went there yesterday and happen to see a young lady about my sisters age (17) ordering and the guy taking the order (I don't know his name but he is always there, the taller guy with big eyes, border line crossed eyed). Was staring at this girls breast with out even being discreet. Then I realized what my sister was talking about. When the young ladies' order was ready he called her and gave her, her food. When she was leaving the guy stared at her but I could not believe what I was seeing!!!! This is definitely the last time I give my business to this place. It's Latinos like that, that make the rest of us look bad. Ugh Fat Sunday has turned into Fat Saturday this past weekend... This was mine & Andy M.'s second stop of the day. I swear I've driven by this place hundreds of times and never really paid attention, except noticing that this used to be a Taco Bell back in the day [they still have a spot for the bell on top]. I was still a bit full from my bacon wrapped hot dog breakfast so I opted for a small beef bowl. The beef was tender and smoky, with some crispy edges that didn't taste burnt but had an amazing flavor. The rice was really good too, and there was a good beef-rice ratio happening. For whatever reason I wasn't in the mood for teriyaki so I just ate mine plain and it was still delicious. Next time though I'm gonna teriyaki it up! Even the small bowl was more than enough food for me! And for about $4.50 you really can't beat it. I had a Jamaica to drink, and even though it was a bit sweeter than I usually like, it was still good. I'd be happy to come back here when I'm a bit more hungry so I can try one of the combos. This place is a hole-in-the-wall, down-scaled, uninspired version of flame broiler, but cheaper and with bigger portions. If you don't mind the limited seating, the limited parking, and the limited English from their employees, but want cheap and decent food, then you might want to try this place out....but order your food to go, and it's cash only. I ordered their medium chicken bowl for only $5. The grilled chicken was tender and moist. However, I wish it had a little bit more flavor to it just by itself (without the teriyaki sauce). They topped it with green onions and served it with asian rice. The rice was soft and perfectly moist. I hate it when rice is dry and hard. That's pretty much all you get when you order the chicken bowl. Veggies are not included...it's not even on the menu...although they do have some seafoods, gyoza, and eggrolls if you want to enhance your dining experience. You get a couple of small containers filled with teriyaki sauce. The teriyaki flavor wasn't overpowering. Sometimes teriyaki sauce can be a bit salty, but this wasn't...it was pretty mild. In my opinion, they grill it much better than their beef. The place itself isn't really nice, there's broken chairs and it's really small, but everyone takes it to-go anyway. The food is really well priced, I think a small starts at $5.50 now and goes up 50 cents a size. I usually order a medium or a large. You can smell how good the food is from outside! I love the food here! The teriyaki is of great quality compared to other places I've tried such as yoshinoya. The quantity is very generous as well. The price is about $6-$8 for the combo bowls which come with salad, dumpling, and an egg roll. The food is what I would give a 4 star but the environment itself is kinda crappy so I docked a star. The chairs are broken and the inside is a little unkept but the food is worth a 10 minute drive for me. Service there is so-so. The employees don't make much effort to be friendly but they're aren't rude or anything. To their credit, they get your order within one or two minutes so its very convenient for a work lunch. I'm way down with this place. I usually get the chicken teriyaki bowl. A small bowl is always enough for me but I've realized I don't fit as much in my stomach as other people do (lord knows I try). The rice is always good and the chicken is grilled to perfection. I actually tried the Beef for the first time last night and I was not disappointed but the Chicken will always be my number one at this place. Bring cash because its a cash only place. I've been coming to mos 2 ever since the age of 5. Its an addiction. Not many teriyaki places offer the speed and burst of flavor of the smoky char delight. Number 4 is the way to go, half chicken half steak. Service wise is amazing, recently they hired two new workers who are doing great and are respectable.but one gentlemen ruins it for me. It seems like all he does is ease drop and points fingers on people for small mistakes others have done. Still, one will not stop me from coming. I live across from it. The restaurant is small and always seems to be busy. A few tables inside and some outside seating with a view of..17th st. As previously mentione you may want to take your food to go due to the lack of seating, high foot traffic. Parking lot is small and shared with adjoining merchant which sometimes is a hassel when needing to park. Drive-Thru window would be nice! Overall good food. For a "fast food" joint, this place has some bomb diggity grub. When I'm here I always get one of the combo meals instead of the bowls and it's usually the chicken, beef/chicken or the chicken/fish dinner. One tip, though, if you go here during lunch or dinner time then be prepared for the sweet smell of BO since half of the city will probably be in there. Also, it can get tight when it's crowded because the place is real small, but don't let that stop you from going there. The food is good, period. This place reminds me of spikes teriyaki bowl which I miss. Teriyaki sauce is savory and good, it is not sweet (difficult to find a good teriyaki sauce that's not sweet) The chicken and beef are delicious, the pork... Not so much. Make sure and bring cash as it's a cash only place. read more

I live in Northern California in the bay area, but grew up in Santa Ana until I was 7. My aunty still lives out in Santa Ana and close to this place. I drive out here to visit every so often and HAVE TO come here every time I do. I don't care much for the seating or parking or the fact that it's cash only. The dish to get is teriyaki chicken bowl. Fulfilling would be a good word to describe it. The beef teriyaki bowl is poor quality, though.
