My husband and I really enjoyed this little spot. Restaurant is very clean and modern. All staff we encountered were friendly and courteous. We stopped for breakfast after spending time at Pechanga and it started with the most delicious coffee cake I have ever had. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak which was excellent and cooked perfectly. I ordered the pancakes which were a disappointment. When I tried to cut them up with my butter knife they did not slice up easily. They were overcooked and rubbery, so my husband shared his food with me. Overall I hope to give this place a second chance, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. read more

I live in San Diego. We went to Temecula up for the weekend. Our hotel didn't have breakfast so we decided to try Mo's. We weren't expecting much, but we were really happy with the food, especially the pancakes. Pancakes are one of our favorite things to eat. I would drive to Temecula just for these pancakes. They remind me of pancakes from Du-par's - big, fluffy and a little malty flavor. We also had the Monte Cristo sandwich and egg, Canadian bacon combo - also very good. We ordered for pick-up, but I noticed they do have a decent number of tables available for outdoor dining. The spacing between tables is also sufficient. Maybe next time we'll do patio dining. I like this place, I really do, but this last visit really made me angry. We got here today at 10 am, we knew we'd have to wait in line, so it was a 25 minute wait. My husband went to park the car while I went in with my daughter. The hostess was on the phone, didn't make eye contact with me even though I stood right in front of her and she walked away with the phone. She came back about 5 minutes later and I asked to put my name down on the list. I told her my name and two adults and two kids. She asked me for my last initial so I gave it to her. She didn't say hello to me or smiled, she looked peeved and didn't care that she was there to greet people, but whatever, maybe she's having a rough morning. I went outside to wait on the bench, since it was nice out today. We sat there waiting and hanging out, then she comes out 25 minutes later and said "Cindy" and another lady got up as well as I did. Then she said "party of 3" while looking at me. Well, what was the point of taking down my last initial if you're not going to use it!?!?! Again with the irritated tone she had. I sat back down and 10 minutes later she called me and we went in. She seated us and didn't say a word besides give us our menus and left. Our waitress asked us what we wanted to drink and left. She came back with our drinks but didn't ask if we were ready to order or anything. She came back about 10 minutes later to take our order. I know it's busy but it didn't seem like she had many other tables to take care of. She walked out with free coffee cake for the other tables but we didn't get any. That's fine, my husband said. We normally get it so I was surprised we never got any. My daughter was hungry and was getting irritated so that coffee cake would have helped and held her over for a bit. She took our order but it took awhile for it to come out. Again, we let that go, since yes, it's busy, so we didn't think anything of it. The food finally arrived and she brought it over with another waitress. She didn't give my daughter utensils and the utensils on my side of the table didn't have a knife, just fork and spoon. After waiting for about 5 minutes to get someone to come by, my husband got up, went to the stand where there were utensils and grabbed my daughter a fork and a knife, a knife for me, and a knife for himself and extra napkins. The waitress never came by to check on us, she just returned with our check and left it at our table. It was never "take your time, whenever you get the chance" or anything. Just dropped it on our table. No thank you, no have a good day, nothing. As we left, the bus boy and everyone else we passed said "thank you, have a good day" so why couldn't our hostess and our waitress do the same thing? I used to come here on weekends, but after today's experience, I think I'll stick with BJ's brunch from now on. read more

I was going wine tasting with my siblings and their spouses and my brother suggested we come here for breakfast prior to getting our wine on. He raved about how great it was, and I guess the last time my sister was out from Ohio she ate here and said it was great. I was excited, I love a good breakfast! We arrived at 11 AM and there was an hour wait. My brother said it's normally not like that, maybe because it was Labor Day. We were seated after about 45 minutes. Everybody figured out what they wanted pretty quickly and the orders were placed within a few minutes. After placing our orders the waiter brought us each a complimentary piece of coffee cake. Everybody at the table ate it up, I personally didn't like it. The crumble on top wasn't very sweet and tasted like flour. It's nice of them to give you something for free though. The food arrived shortly. My Eggs Benedict was not very good. The eggs were cooked well, but their hollandaise sauce tasted like cheese. Very weird flavor. The o'brien potatoes were very bland, lots of salt and pepper needed to be added to make those taste decent. Everybody at the table had ordered them and they all agreed that they were bland. My sister got some sort of breakfast sandwich that she was not wowed by, my sis-in-law sent her food back because it was cold. My brother and bro-in-law both ordered steak and eggs, the steak was overcooked and very tough. My brother who suggested this place said it is normally better and blamed them being so busy on the quality of the food. I don't know what caused the food to suck, but I don't think I would bother coming here again. Nobody in our party was happy with our breakfasts. I give them 3 stars simply because i'm believing my brother and sister that it is usually better than it was on Labor Day. read more

First of all, I visualize anyone with the name Lefty as being a big hairy guy with receeding hairline, puffy eyes, full body tatoos, and a Bronx accent. The coffee - not memorable, but not bad. Our order - a Monte Cristo sandwich, delicious, and an SOS on a biscuit. The biscuit was good, the gravy part, average, not great. We chose fresh fruit to accompany, and the dish was full of sweet mixed melons and berries. This place moves. We had our order quickly and this was on a Sunday when the entire world thinks, "Last day to party before starting a new work week. Let's start with breakfast." Interesting. Three homemade soups on the menu (clam chowder, lentil, and a vegetable sausage soup). I love soup anytime, anywhere. Next time.... Our conclusion was, we would come back, but not for the SOS or anything with gravy. Needs too much work. EXPERIENCE: Went on a saturday morning noticed there were a few groups waiting outside, thought to myself well it is the weekend, this place could be really popular though, walked inside to put our name on the list and the place was crowded with people seated, and eating. Wait time wasn't long at all, about 10 mins. or so. Friendly hosts, and waitresses and staff from beginning to end. As soon as we were seated we had a waitress take our drink order, another waitress from another table checked on us to make sure we were helped. Really appreciated that. They give out complimentary coffee cakes which is perfect right before your meal. Very warm, gooey and tasty. FOOD: I ordered the red velvet pancakes, which was on a special menu, it came with choice of bacon or sausage, I got sausage. Also, came with eggs. I was expecting the pancakes to be really sweet, and flavorful, and have a lot of cream cheese on top however there was only a little bit. Nothing spectacular about the pancakes they tasted really plain. It came with what I thought was cream cheese in a small container but it was butter, sigh. My husband had french toast (which was extremely sweet) thought I was eating syrup the whole time. He had eggs, bacon and a side of hash browns. Coffee cake was brought to the table - a nice snack while you check out the menu and wait for your food. We ordered the chicken fried steak and a Spanish omelet. I couldn't believe how fast our food came out - it was like they knew what I wanted and was just waiting for the order to be put in. The steak was crispy, just enough country gravy on top. I added bacon to the omelet, it could have used more chili's. Or maybe not cooking them in the eggs and putting them in the middle?? Service was okay. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. Paying at the front was a little slow, several people in line at a time. They have a few hot sauce options to choose from on the table. I didn't recognize 2 of them so I checked out the label. Mo's is a local favorite for breakfast and brunch, so naturally, the place is always busy with lines out of the door. The complimentary coffee cake will help ease that wait once you're seated. I've been here multiple times solo and with others. What I've ordered: Special menu Pineapple & Macadamia Nuts Pancakes - large portion Monte Cristo Sandwich w/Curly Fries - okay sandwich, big portion of fries Eggs Benedict w/Hash Browns - simple, but huge portion also, especially the brick of hash browns Chicken Enchilada Omelette - signature item, excessive portion but not enough sauce to counter the load of eggs and chicken beneath Obviously, all of the portions are large. Out of everything I've tried, my favorite thing has probably been their biscuit, which is probably the best I've had in the area. My dining companions have ordered the Hawaiian Salad, Chicken Wrap, Chicken Club Sandwich, Chicken Croissant, Three Little Pigs to name a few. The diner atmosphere adds to the experience, and the service is usually good with the exception of a forgotten order on our recent visit. Food was decent BUT the sewer smell was disgusting . It just ruined your breakfast. That needs to be fixed it's horrible. No amount of air freshener can get rid of that . We were looking for a breakfast place while traveling through Temecula and stopped by because of all the great reviews. While waiting for a table we saw numerous plates with good looking food so we were excited to try it. I asked the server what she suggested between the country fried steak and the chilaquiles and she said they were both best sellers so I went with the chilaquiles since I saw a plate come out with them and it looked good. When my plate arrived the chips looked bare and frankly they were. There was barely any flavor on them either, all I could taste was chips with sour cream. The avocado it was topped with was too ripe and was starting to brown already so it wasn't making the dish any better. My mother got the cinnamon french toast which was okay but nothing we'd come back for. Lastly, we were looking forward to the coffee cake which was complimentary but sadly that was the most dense and driest coffee cake I've ever had. It was obvious that the crew prides themselves on never having a cup of coffee low. Our server was so kind and friendly. The food came out quickly too and they were busy. I had the California omelette and it was yummy. The homemade biscuit looked scrumptious but my husband had to eat I don't do bread. The server was so accommodating with my dietary needs as she substituted tomatoes instead of hash browns. Delicious food, great service, reasonably priced. We arrive Sunday morning at 9:30 and it was a 10 minute wait. Which was great considering how many people were there. The place is a good size inside and there is an outdoor patio. We sat at a nice booth next to the window and were immediately greeted with a smile and complementary coffee cake. What a great surprise. The coffee was also delicious. Everything on the menu looked great and they were decently large portions. I recommend the California Benedict. This is not another good diner, this place is great! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and this place doesn't disappoint! It's got that cool, classic old diner atmosphere that you can't create, it has to come naturally. They have a massive menu with a ton of great choices. The food is excellent as is the service! Love the food and the staff. This place is a neighborhood gem! My only disappointment is that this is the only location and I live fifty miles away.
