We ate lunch at the Astoria brewing company. It was great! When you walk in, you are greeted and told you can sit wherever you would like. You can either get a physical menu or use a QR code, and you order food at the bar. When it's ready, a server brings it to your table. I wasn't very hungry personally, so I ordered small salad with a chicken breast added on. I got honey mustard dressing with this, and it was delicious! The salad was super fresh as well. I enjoyed it. My daughter ordered the breaded shrimp plate. She said it was awesome and scarfed it down as fast as possible. Hubs ordered the shrimp po-boy, which he said had the same shrimp as the shrimp plate. He wished he had just ordered the shrimp plate, so he would have gotten more shrimp. Next time. Daughter ordered the housemade root beer and said it was great. She is a root beer aficionado. The atmosphere here was casual, but very cute. The ambiance was friendly and almost wholesome. Kids were enjoying some of the decor (including mine in the yellow truck) there is indoor and outdoor deck seating. We had already eaten in the day and really just wanted a beer so that's what brought us in, we ended up getting chips and salsa for the kids, by far one of my favorite salsas. It had a bit of heat but was smooth enough to eat with every chip and not think it's spicy. We got 2 beer flights, each one we took a strawberry blonde, we even took it home in a six pack. Drove through Astoria on way to rockaway beach and this was the perfect lunch stop. The service was fast. You find a seat and go inside to order then they bring the food to you. We had two pups with us so we had to sit on the patio but it was great weather. The food came out fast and it was delicious. No tipping needed as it's included in pricing. I always love going to a brewery that is named after the town and is in or something.The town is known for. This location is small and on one side of the plaza where we were unaware that the actual tap house to the brewery was on the opposite end of the plaza and much , much bigger. The smaller space is outfitted with a lot of wood decor and is more intimate , and it's setting with views of the water. They also have a large amount of Goonie merchandise for purchase that is related to all things beer. They also have a lot of local artwork on display that can be also purchased which I love to see small businesses working together. read more

My sister got clam chowder and loved it as well as the couple of beers we got to wash it down. I got a couple of IPAs, and they were delish. We had a great view of the water in the open-air restaurant and our service was very friendly. With so many mixed reviews, I really didn't know what to expect at this restaurant but the group I was with had chosen this place for lunch so I didn't really have a choice (out-numbered by the gang!). My go-to is fish & chips so that's what I ordered... and I was not disappointed! The pieces of fish were huge - the guy at the counter said they were a filet each - and the fries so plentiful, I could not eat them all. There were 18 people in our group and the staff sat us in the saloon area. However, only moments after sitting down, they came back and told us there were tables now open near the windows. So we relocated to the main dining room with a nice view of the Columbia River. What a treat that was! My fish and chips were perfectly cooked - both were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The servers were great! With 18 people showing up with no notice, they were polite, attentive to our every request, fast at delivering food and fast to pick up our plates when we were finished. Others ordered cheeseburgers, Reuben sandwiches, more fish & chips, and all members of my group said their food was very good. Yes, you have to order at the counter but servers were able to find each and every one of us, even though we'd moved from one room to another. Kudos to the staff! The frosting on the cake for me is that this restaurant is revenue-sharing so tipping was not allowed, even though some of us tried to tip them anyway. Way to go, Astoria Brewing! read more

It's not a trip to the beach without fish & chips! We ended up here after bike riding with friends. Astoria Brewing used to be called the Wet Dog. It's still the same owner . I got my obligatory fish & chips and my husband had a hazelnut salad with cranberries & blue cheese. They use rockfish here, which is one of my favorites for f&c. It's flakey and tender and not as firm as halibut. I enjoyed it but the cook was slightly over. It could've come out of the fryer a minute earlier. Chips were great. Service was kind, attentive, and friendly! Gave a very local, down to earth vibe. Great location on the pier with near by parking. Drinks and food are ordered at the front counter and brought out to you. They have wide range of beer on tap, but I did not recognize any cider or non-alcoholic options on tap. The mini tacos were actually so flavorful. I normally don't like pork, which were on the tacos, but I could have eaten all three of these. Annual trek to seaside and come here on our Astoria day! This is an awesome local brewery with powerhouse beers. The vibe is similar to a restaurant brewpub in Seattle, but catered to tourists. Service is non-existent as you order your own food and drink, with runners delivering. Clam chowder was 10/10, as was the fresh bread. Hazy IPA 10/10. A flight of 5 4 ounce pours is 16$, which seems high for being made onsite. Cool Goonies shop and decent beer but way too expensive for what you get. read more

Pretty solid place nowadays! (~ 2025) Been going to the ABC/Wet Dog Cafe for nearly a decade... we've seen a lot of changes. Favorites like the fondue have diminished over the years; they've gone from full service to 'order here and we'll bring it to you'; etc. But recently, the chicken sandwich and chicken strips have just been amazing! I mean REALLY good. Been twice in the last six weeks; excellent both times. Wow. What a $70 lunch disappointment! First. They hand you menus and tell you to find a table. Then. You wait in a long counter line to order. The food came out pretty quick. The $17 onion rings were like-warm at best. The "clam" chowder was more like clam-flavored potato chowder. Couldn't find a clam. The Reuben sauerkraut was as flavorful as shredded paper. I really wish I could say better things about this place. The bbq Cuban tasted really well but the salad paired with it was very bland and ridiculously overpriced at $24. When I first arrived I had multiple people asked me if I was the host, there was none available and when they did arrive there was no way to tell them from any other patron. All staff had relaxed shirts on that said Astoria brewing but there was nothing that stood out. Once I got my food and was eating my server checked his phone mule times and never asked me how my food was. The inside of the brewing co looks like a great time, but it is not that organized in my opinion. When I got greeted by the host he instantly told me it was a ridiculous wait for food, which it was not. Stopped here for lunch while on a road trip. Had a yummy but average pulled pork sandwich and onion rings! I do feel that the sandwich could have definitely had some more BBQ sauce on it. And honestly the kind of sauce wasn't my favorite, tasted sweeter than I feel a BBQ sauce has any business to. it also seemed to be more of an acidic sauce which isn't my personal favorite. should. The onion rings though were pretty good! had a great crisp and went perfect with the ranch. I have been here MANY TIMES and always five stars. First the good news. They had berry cobbler with ice cream and whipped cream. It was the best I ever had plus the portion size was off the chart. I had a ruben sandwich, it came without any thousand island dressing on it? The fries were over cooked I guess - dry, no flavor and chewy. The real reason for the less than stellar review I got INSTANT ICE TEA!! Never got that here before. I couldnt drink it. I mentioned to the waitress that it was instant ice tea and they said "Yes". No offer to exchange for soda ( which I wouldnt of taken) or any other solution. No one gets it right every time but the owners not being present or near showed. We ate here prior to attending the Dark Art Brewfest at Fort George Brewery. The staff got us seated quickly and everyone was friendly. It is a wide open space that is well lit. Some may be put off by the long cafeteria type shared tables, but they seem to leave space between guests when possible. We got the Cheesy Beer Fondue which was good. They serve it with pita bread and apples. IMO we could have done without the apples, but the pita bread was great with the dip. We also shared the Brewhouse Sandwich. We both really enjoyed the sandwich and our food came out a lot faster than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise since everything in town was busy because of the Brewfest. We both also had one of Astoria's own beers on tap and we thought they were also very good. If you are looking for some decent food at a Brewery that has more options than just greasy bar food, I would recommend this place. What a great location! Beautiful views of the Columbia River. We stopped on the last day of our brewery tour for a taster flight and some lunch. Food was very good, especially considering the prices. Loved the beer flights that come in the tiny beer mugs, surprisingly this was the only one of the 15 breweries we visited that used them. Our Oregon Thanksgiving weekend was at its end and right before crossing the bridge to Washington, we did a pit stop in Astoria to visit a gun shop and get fuel for our stomachs. After visiting a gun store nearby and asking a recommendation on a place to eat in the area, we were told to visit Astoria Brewing Company because the "avocado burger smashes". Although I had a restaurant in mind already, we searched this establishment's menu and they won us over because 1) they were already open 2) they had a good amount of kid friendly options to choose from, and 3) they had oyster shooters. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately. Our plan was to order the avocado burger, oyster shooters, and a cheese pizza for the kids but we overindulged and also got ourselves an orange soda float and an alcoholic beverage - because ordering a beer at a brewing company is a must. My husband and I went to Astoria Brewing for dinner on a Tuesday evening earlier this week. It was our first time to eat there and to try their brew. We have been to all of the other breweries in town over the years and we finally visited the oldest one. The dining room has a wonderful view of the Columbia River and the Astoria Riverwalk. We loved the decor and ambiance inside the restaurant. There is also a gift shop inside. I ordered halibut fish and chips and my husband ordered a burger with fries. We each ordered a pint of their brew. The beer was very good and we like it enough to buy two 32 oz. canned growlers to take home with us. The service was excellent, but we both were disappointed that the fries were not served fresh from the fryer, but they were still warm but got cold before we finished our entrees. The halibut was cooked perfectly but the tartar sauce was really blah--just seasoned with dill. (A little horseradish would improve their recipe.) My husband's burger was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. It was a pleasant dining experience on a quiet evening. We sat next to the window and enjoyed our view of the river. Before we left, we even had the opportunity to talk to the manager/owner and learned a lot about the history of Astoria Brewing. We will definitely go back again. read more
