We enjoyed the oyster shooters. Be careful the horseradish is on the bottom. The shrimp was piled high on cabbage with a creamy garlic sauce. Then we order the beer battered halibut. The fish was thick and tender. The beer batter was tasty. The chips were slightly crunchy on the outside but a nice size for dipping. We were greeted by two different individuals coming into the restaurant very friendly. Our waitress was also very friendly and efficient. We had an enjoyable lunch with a view of the water. I don't know why they are known for their Clam Chowder, it was more like potato soup, minimum clams, no clam taste and tasteless. Super disappointed. Can't speak to the rest on the menu. View is nice with outdoor seating. read more

We went to the Astoria location and we were unsure at first, but the service was very friendly and helpful, and the views from the dog-friendly patio were spectacular!! The food was better than expected, we tried the clam chowder bread bowl, the shrimp skewers and the clam strips appetizer, all exceeded expectations and were very good!! The only thing was that our food did take a while to come, but they also seemed pretty busy, and after our waiter dropped off our food, we didn't see him again until we were done with our food, but again they weee a bit busy. They also have a lovely gift shop at the entrance worth some cute postcards, and earrings, and hoodies, but nothing too unique. The only positive thing I can say about MO's is the view. We had clam chowder at least 8 times on our Oregon trip and MO's was definitely dead last on the list. The shrimp Louie ha lots of bay shrimp but the shrimp had no taste what so ever. The halibut fish and chips were average at best but you'd expect more from a fish restaurant. Astoria just has some great food in general. Mo's definitely makes the list for top Astoria food though. If you like Chowder, this is a must, but they have plenty of delicious seafood options and everything was satisfying. This was both my first and last time eating at Mo's ... two visits in one! Our waiter was terrific and the view was pretty great. The food, however ... not very good. Do not order the fish tacos; they were possibly the worst I've ever had. The clam chowder was tasty, but my friend got the sourdough bowl and the bread was flavorless. We enjoyed a surprisingly good experience at Mo's! It has been years since eating at this NW chain. I have always thought it over rated compared to the mom and pop restaurants on the coast and avoided supporting them over the last 15 years in favor of other dine in seafood. Oh man! I really wanted to like this place. Cool vibes when you walk in! A little steam boat in the front for a quick photo op for kids, and a little gift shop. But that's the highlight. The food was NOT good. Heard great things about their clam chowder but it was pretty bland. I got the Fettuchini with bay shrimp and it was only semi warm. My whole meal, I only ate part of it and did not ask for a to go container. My husband got the cod and chips and said it was bland. My daughter got the clam strips and she enjoyed it. After a nasty attitude at Bridgewater Bistro, we came to Mo's Seafood. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly host. She said it would be a 15 mins wait and took down my cellphone number. She would text us once our table was ready. We went back to our car to wait and in 2 mins (no joke) our table was ready! So quick, we went back inside and got seated. Lots of social distancing, tables were all spread far apart. The glass back door was opened too (we sat at the table right by the open door) to allow for air flow throughout the whole restaurant. I ordered the fish tacos 3x with clam chowder. My hubby ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Excellent clam chowder, fresh and not overly salty. Fish tacos was seasoned perfectly, soft, and I love the side salsa. My hubby enjoyed his burger. Fun place with a great view. It's only a block and a half from the Maritime Museum. I ordered a shrimp sandwich and one friend cod fish n chips, the other fish tacos. My sandwich was the best, but was advised both the tacos and cod where good. Also the dinner salad came with shrimp on it. So in recap, three of the meals were wonderful. The servings were large and the salad was excellent. The serve was also excellent. My husband said to mention the fries. They were very crisp and flavorful. And don't miss the hot Mo Mocha. Very saddened. This place used to be amazing great but the service is horrible and food order was wrong. Food took forever and arrived cold. We were so happy to find a place that would let us bring our dog onto the patio. The staff at Mo's were 100% friendly and they were BUSTLING - I mean, I stood there and watched them at one point and wow, hustling. They had a reunion going on so they were understandably busy and took a bit to get us our check - but they were very responsive and helpful nevertheless. One woman who was not our server even stopped to make sure we were okay. Cannot complain about the view, which is idyllic, watched boats coming in, watched birds - would have liked some umbrellas or some sort of cover on the patio - but understand it's very windy and people like to get some sun. The view of the Columbia River at the Astoria-Megler bridge is stunning. Most of the seating here will have a great view. I had a bowl of the chowder with my meal. I always enjoy the smoky bacon they put in the chowder. I've been here a lot , but I'd never had the Cod sandwich. The fish was good; blackened but not over spiced and still delicate and not overcooked. I think their tartar sauce is house made, or at least their recipe. Overall good experience! read more
