Ropa Vieja, came with black beans, rice, and fried plantains

I have to say, this restaurant is a new found favorite. My mother recently moved to Hawthorne and we decided to try this restaurant since it was nearby and open pretty late- we ate dinner late. There were so many options & food cultures on the menu and the food was fantastic. The service was so friendly and helpful & the atmosphere was lovely. The beautiful interior decorations, food, service made the restaurant a 10/10- or 5 I ordered the pork ramen, my mother ordered a Cuban dish called Ropa Vieja, and my brother ordered a carne asada torta, it was all amazing. Not to mention it was very cost-friendly for such quality and quantity food & experience !!

So I decided to try this place out , a nice and friendly person by the name of Jaqueline had stop by my job site , was promoting her work place and what they sell at this location. They have a large variety of food options to choose from. I stopped by 2 days later to give it a try. The food was great , the service was really friendly by the staff running this place. Really appreciate them going above and beyond with their customer service. Thanks once again Jaqueline and staff for your awesome customer service.

    Love the stars.

I got the shrimp sliders, and let me explain how delicious those were (aside from the pretty presentation). The batter was seasoned and the shrimp was cooked perfectly! Old school 90s-2010s our first waiter Elidja was GREAT. we loved him. Just avoid the light skinned, taller waitresses. She was soo rude. 2 stars off for her. She had a top not bun when I was there. We got there at 7pm. Here was the exchange by 10pm... Her: Hi, have you been here today or are you new? Me: Hi! We've been here. Her: Hi I remember you. Then she leaves. A few minutes later she comes back with a water jug and two cups. She sets it at our table. I pour some into my cup. She turns around... Her: Did you just take water from this jug? Me: Yes! Her: That wasn't for you. That's for this table next to you. Me: oh, we were here first so I thought this was ours. (We had been there 3 hours by then, never got water) Her: it wasn't but you can have it. You good. Me: Ok no YOU'RE good. Her: no, YOU good. She walks off. I was having so much fun before that. Now im just pissed. Looking around, we were the only table without water. We had ordered like 7 drinks and 3 different food items before she was our waitress so it wasn't like we were just there taking up space. Im so annoyed. I won't be back for a while...

I'd consider this a sports bar, with a big dining area. The menu has a little bit of everything, some specialty drinks and full bar. We started out with the steak nachos, they had a creamy cheese sauce, which wasn't too thick or salty. I would have liked more steak, it had a few pieces only. The steak and veggies were cooked perfectly. The BBQ ribs tasted smoky and sweet, the meat fell off the bone. The fries were nice and crispy. A great place to watch a game, hang out or have dinner.

Just ate at IHOP and we had real dinnerware and glass pints. My whiskey glass was cracked as well. We had a large party. 8-9 people I believe. So understandably things can get confusing back of house for large parties. They messed up made me the wrong food. I said it's cool I'll wait for the steak and fries. Then someone came out of the kitchen with the ticket from back of house insisting that it was right. So I had to point out that the ticket in the kitchen was right yet my order wasn't on the table. Why am I looking at tickets from the kitchen in the first place.... Had to wait another 35 minutes for a 8oz md rare hanger steak and fries. Everything was in shambles. Kitchen messed up, wait staff wasn't attentive. It was all bad. We just ate at IHOP and the service was infinitely better.

Two Hommés is truly an absolute gem in Inglewood and I highly recommend coming here because of how they've blended West African, Mexican, West Asian, and American ingredients & flavours - the food is a lovely mix of feeling light & fresh, paired with more meaty (but not dense) options, and overall very delicous. Pro-tip: Make a reservation online through Resy - this restuarant qualifies for AmEx's Resy credit! Layout & seating: The front-door faces the main streetThere are high tables, bar seating, and low tables throughout the area. I haven't used their bathroom, so I can't speak to that. Parking: There's a free, public parking lot in the back that's shared with the school, so be mindful that you're not parking in designated spots during school hours. Other times, e.g., weekends, it's fair game. It thankfully has never been packed, so I have been able to grab a spot for myself. Accessibility: The door is a little heavy, but there are no steps to get inside from the street, so that's good. The inside can feel a little cramped. Ambiance: During the late afternoon, the sunlight filters and the entire dining area feels nice but not too bright. Service: Very prompt and attentive; friendly staff. What I've tried: Pre-Summer menu 1. Duck Dibi Ssam: Senegalese smoked lamb shoulder, bib lettuce, green Shito, pickle, and suya peanuts; $52 I love the combination of Senegalese and Korean dishes here to create this juicy duck dish. I do wish there was more Shito because the amount you get is not enough for the entire plate and extras have a cost. 2. Jollof Platter: Ghanaian jollof, bomb azz black beans, plaintains, arugula salad; sauces: Scallion, BBQ jerk, cilantro-lime cream; added on root beer braised short rib; $28 + 22 (protein add-on) Absolutley tender, fall-off-the-bone short rib in a rich mole-like root beer sauce. The jollof was well cooked - definitely parboiled before cooked off at the end with the seasoning & spices, and nicely smoked. The beans were simple, but I do remember tasting the bay leaves and seasoning. The plantains were soooo well cooked; crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Summer menu 1. Suya Mushrooms and Greens: Oyster mushroom, snap peas, peanuts; $15 Absolutely scrumptious mix of suya, fresh & crunchy snap peas, and just smokey enough. I cannot stress how much everyone must try this dish, if nothing else on the menu. 2. This is, A Tasty Burger: Short rib, caramelised onions, pickles, cheddar, Gold-Coast BBQ sauce, fries; $23 Not heavy, but very filling and juicy; loved the BBQ sauce - I think there was mustard in there? Either way, the flavours were so "simple" yet flavourful. The meat felt "light", if that makes sense. 3. Lamb + White Bean Hummus: Flatbread, yassa onions, (ground) lamb bits; $21 The hummus felt very traditional Palestinian/Syrian and the ground lamb was delicious. The flatbread was reminiscent of the flatbreads from the Levant, Khubz Arabi or a type of pita - soft, pillowy, and perfect for hummus. 4. Smashed potatoes: Labneh, Lula Mae's chilli oil, fried rosemary; $15 This feels like their version of Batata Harra and it was nice; loved the fried rosemary and garlic - so crunchy and flavourful. Really rich & tangy labneh - I wonder if it's homemade or from a Lebanese store? 5. Drinks: Hommémade lemonade (jamaica) and Mocktail of the week Love the (spicy pineapple) Both drinks were well-made - a little tart, a litle sweet, and well mixed. My absolute favourite items have been the duck and the Suya Mushrooms and Greens; I cannot wait to go back and order more of the latter and try out the Big Fish, and finally try the desserts! My only issue is the noise; there's a TV that's on in the background, music playing overhead, and rather close seating to the next party (to the point that you can hear what they're saying rather clearly). Having a conversation is very difficult with all these competing sounds. Note: There is a time limit for parties of 4 or larger of 1.5 hours, so please be mindful as Two Hommés gets busy from opening to close.
