First of all, the ambience in here is great for a laid back dinner or casual date. The setup is very pretty. This is an interesting restaurant with several genres of food. I went with the Ropa Vieja. The presentation was very nice and the flavor was good. The black beans were a little hard for my taste but flavor-wise okay. Not great but not bad. The Ropa Vieja itself was good. The service couldn't have been more friendly. Just the right amount of attention and extremely sweet. If I have one "complaint" is that the tables seemed a little low for me. I'm 6' and I had to bend over quite a bit to eat. Definitely not a reason to not visit but something to be aware if you're tall. They are definitely worth a try. I'll be heading back to try the ramen and will update when I do. Update: Went back for the ramen and it was delicious! I am not overly versed on what really authentic ramen tastes like but I have had it in quite a few different places and this has to be one of the best flavored. Service was great this time as well! They had a lot of takeout orders and were very communicative that the food might take a little longer than usual. I have to say, this restaurant is a new found favorite. My mother recently moved to Hawthorne and we decided to try this restaurant since it was nearby and open pretty late- we ate dinner late. There were so many options & food cultures on the menu and the food was fantastic. The service was so friendly and helpful & the atmosphere was lovely. The beautiful interior decorations, food, service made the restaurant a 10/10- or 5 I ordered the pork ramen, my mother ordered a Cuban dish called Ropa Vieja, and my brother ordered a carne asada torta, it was all amazing. So I decided to try this place out , a nice and friendly person by the name of Jaqueline had stop by my job site , was promoting her work place and what they sell at this location. They have a large variety of food options to choose from. I stopped by 2 days later to give it a try. The food was great , the service was really friendly by the staff running this place. Great Late Night Option! And there's so many choices which can be tricky but there's something for everyone. My favorites are the Burger! Better than most, the garlic fish with Lemon is great. Meatloaf and the pizza although I was Leary is pretty good! The Chicken Quesadilla is Great! I love the cheese they use. Delivery takes some time but worth the wait! read more

The Food: I ordered the chicken soup (homestyle, so vegetables and chicken, no noodles) for $10.95. I was just in it for the broth (I'm catching a cold). Broth was pretty flavorful, but it had a veggie or 2 that seem strange for a chicken soup (tomato?), and the full chicken thigh, which was a bit of a pain to deal with. The cut of the veggies were a bit large for me, but again, homestyle. It came with a side of Spanish rice, corn tortillas, and some onion, cilantro and lime for extra seasoning. It doesn't need those, and is good on its own. The portion was very large, good for 2 large servings. The Ambiance: I walked in at 12:20, and they were still pulling the chairs from the side of the room. The place has really dim lighting, which seems more like a dance club. I don't think you'd be able to see a menu in here, but I already knew what I wanted. When I ordered, the owner walked to the back refrigerator to see if he had any. Not necessarily a bad thing, since a lot of soups taste better after the ingredients steep for a while, but it would look strange to someone who didn't know that. This place is okay. They could be great if the lightened up the room a bit and made sure they were ready to go when they opened. read more

This is a magical place: a restaurant near he airport open 24 hours! Decent Cuban food, extremely friendly staff, cozy environment, all of these provided me and my friend who just missed our flight great comfort. They even allowed us to sleep in the sofa overnight for free (we paid generous tips instead). BTW, they have a lounge area with nice pianos and sofas. Order was all wrong. I ordered a vegan burrito. They gave me the vegetarian. There's a BIG difference between the two. Wrong beans. Wrong rice. I ordered it "wet". They gave me no cutlery. This place is horrible. The lady answering the phone was so rude I ended up not ordering. If a restaurant will argue with you when you ask is there anything on the menu that is not available....is a place I don't want to eat. I like honesty and transparency when I'm ordering food from and unknown place. The response and attitude from the lady who answered the phone tonight made me feel like I could not trust the food. Got a tip from a friend of a new place with an awesome vibe. They had me at stars on the ceiling. The food is awesome i recommend the empanadas. I had a torta de asada it was awesome. The variety is great offering cuban/ mexican and american options. Nice mellow vibe would love having dinner with friends here in the future. read more

Best food for your money. The menu is very diverse. The waitress/host/owner is very sweet and attentive. She asked us if we had any questions, we asked for recommendations because we were headed to a day long festival in the ROW and we wanted to eat! Her recommendations for a Cuban plate and appetizers were spot on and we were delightfully satisfied with the Roja Vieja plate and beef empanadas! This is a truly fun restaurant/jazz club/neighborhood bar. We heard the Brazza Quartet play, lots of jazz and Latin standards played with a ton of heart, soul and skill. Been eating here for more than a year now. They have all kinds of food! I've been trying to taste all the food on the menu. Their Nachos are fully loaded and the burger is huge and juicy!
