Before I start into my list of everything not so pleasant, I will say the staff is trying. It feels as though the 2 at the front desk so everything around here so I could understand the issues with cleanliness. This motel was the only place in town that didn't charge an outrageous pet fee (no fee at all) and we needed 3 nights so spending 200/night was out of the question. I wasn't overly impressed as soon as I walked in the door. The room smelt muggy, borderline smokey. I noticed faded stains all over the top blanket, gunk on the floor, towels soiled along with hair and dust in the area they're stored, shower fan unplugged, drain in pieces, no toiletries besides a bar of soap, and I woke up with bites on my leg that I'm not so sure came from being outside the day before... Proceed with caution. If I wouldn't be out a couple hundred bucks, I'd be switching hotels. read more

Well as we took a small road trip to Solvang & Los Olivos area we decided to stay close by. Lompoc is not really close by but the rate is much cheaper in this city then anywhere close to Solvang with out breaking your wallet. Motel 6 is well motel 6 and some locations have a brand new look with wood floors and more modern furniture others are not so lucky for upgrades. So once I arrived I was greeted by Luwanna (Manager) and was checked in with a lovely smile. Got room 205 on the same building as registration is located but on the 2nd floor,a plus if you want to get ice,snacks or free morning coffee. My room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom tub has seen its share of work but it was clean. Plenty of towels,but like the motel 6 brand they are small,not hand towel small but not large towel size. There was about 10 channels on television including HBO... Yay in case you want to stay in and enjoy a relaxing night. After being up and around with wine we picked up some panda express down the street and called it a night. I for one had a good nights rest but with outside neighbor noise you sometimes feel that by spending more you would have a better neighbor. Anyhow, worked for me and I hope to maybe one day return to this location. Plenty of restaurants near by. read more

VERY unsafe! This location is full drug addicts, pimps, and prostitution! My husband and I were approached while with our children!!!!! Windows were broken in the bottom floors, AC units did not work, there was no running water in the sink. Full of cigarette burns in a non-smoking room. There was tons of mold in the ceiling and the tub was beyond needing repair. We were a family of 4 and only give. 1 towel during our stay. The guest services employees were extremely rude and they all look like they were picked off the street themselves. It seems they are "friends" with the drug dealers. For the price, it was the cheapest place I could find during labor day weekend. I was going to head over to Solvang the next day and all the inns in Solvang were just either super expensive or all booked. Plus, I was doing this last minute. I checked in at night and it was quick and easy since I had booked over expedia on my phone. She gave me a card key and I was glad to placed near the back. I was on the second floor and the room was a lot better than I expected. There were hardwood floors and a giant queen bed in the center of the room. Off to the side was the sink and a door leading to the toilet/shower. The bathtub had some stains but I just wore flip flops to take my shower. The sheets were clean but the cover blanket had a few questionable stains. Didn't really matter since I kicked that off the bed since the room was quite hot. I think the heater was on or something so I tried to set the AC on which semi-worked? There is also a TV in the room. Take note that there is no free WiFi and you have to pay for wireless internet access. Overall, I paid for what I expected to get from a motel. I'm always worried because reviews for motels are always so low but honestly, this isn't a fancy Hilton or anything. I thought the room was clean, I had a fresh stock of towels for hand and bath. The person checking me in and out was nice to me (granted we only exchanged a few words) and the motel did its job of providing me a place to bathe and shower. Lots of parking in front of your room. My card key did have some issues. I think I might have set it near my phone by accident and deactivated it so be careful since the card key is super sensitive. It made me panicked for a bit outside my door but the office quickly re-issued me two extra card keys. If I am in the area next time, I will reconsider this place. Its your typical no frills Motel 6. Bare bones, no bells and whistles here. But you get what you pay for. If you want a place to simply crash out, this is the place. Clean room. Don't expect shampoo and conditioner bottles. Just a bar of soap, ha! I'd stay here again for economical reasons. Definitely beats out Quality Inn which is next door. Same quality but higher prices over at the Quality. I give this hotel an A-OK which is 3 stars. read more

The front desk (Moses?) was very very nice. The motel was cheap but need a real fix. The dial of the air condition doesnt really work and the fan is super noisy. i feel like sleeping inside the jet all night. the rack where they stuff towels in was very dirty. There was old cheetos inside. Bathtub was all rust and chipped. Mattress are very bouncy. Pillows are totally flat but you can go to the front desk to ask for couple more. The bad reviews about sketchy people/the area almost scared us off but honestly me and my boyfriend got there and when we arrived we said "oh wow. This is a lot better than we were expecting." The motel is right next to a Holiday Inn, a big shopping center with a Starbucks, etc. The room was fine. Clean, good tv, no complaints. Desk staff was unable to find my reservation when I arrived, and was curt but polite. On initial view, room was okay, but all I wanted was a shower and a nap. When I got out of the shower, I noticed a very large roach on the floor by the bed, so my husband trapped it, and put it outside in the parking lot. The next evening, there was yet another creepy crawling thing by the bed. My thought is that perhaps they sneak in while the maid is working. I suggest anyone who is staying overnight takes the time to carefully check the room. The floors could do with a good mopping as well. As far as the location, it's situated next door to the DMV and across the street from a shopping center that has an Albertsons and a Ross plus several fast food places, including a Starbucks. At first when I read the negative reviews I thought "Come on! It's a Motel 6, what did you expect?! And they are a pet-friendly motel without any extra charge!" When we checked in, the room was a standard sized room for a queen bed with a tiny bit more room then the one we stayed at in Palm Springs. Yes, we could tell the hotel had been there for some time, and budget maintenance is noticeable. The tub had rust spots but shower pressure was strong. We brought our own shampoo/soap so didn't have to depend on the tiny bath soap provided. (Note to self: Next time bring proper bath towels.) We paid extra to have a microwave/fridge. They both worked. First thing we did notice was how thin the walls were, with every bump and plumbing sound heard from upstairs/sides. The AC fan's volume increased with each higher setting. It is was summer, so ... you get to choose between temperature or audio comfort. We chose temperature so we could get some sleep. We chose not to have our room made up when the maids came around at 9am-ish but got some extra towels. When we got back that evening, we noticed that the AC was now blowing in warm air and it was cooler outside the room than inside. Being on he ground level did not allow the window and the blackout drapes to be open at the same time because the drapes only opened from the side of the window that was fixed. A call to the desk to find out if there was a possibility of a room change yielded the response that it was a chiller that was out on the entire property and they had "ordered the part" with no further recompense offered. The 2 stars was for the location of the property and for the desk assistant Raul, who rather reluctantly said he would offer a credit to the room after I hinted at it (when we checked out). There were ample dog-friendly places to walk around and lots of trash containers conveniently located. So, mixed review. We knew what we were getting for the price - even though it was pretty inflated for the holiday weekend - and it would have been satisfactory had the AC not died - a maintenance issue which could have been anticipated perhaps? We could even deal with feeling like we were inside a jet engine with the blower volume. read more

But then when I got there, I was charged more for a shittier, less than average type of room. Our stay was fairly cheap. At first glance, there was a huge black stain on one of our pillows, cracks in the table, red stains all over the ceiling and walls, so much black dirt in the shower we didn't even want to use it, some sort of clay was visibly stuck in the shower drain, 3 lamps and only 1 of them worked, and a lot of homeless people unfortunately in the property. We turned on our air conditioning from the second we walked in, and it pushed out so much hot air we were sweating profusely and had to sleep on top of our bed from the heat, and it never got cold. When booking our room, I was unable to see the room description as it was not provided. I wasn't aware the room did not include a refrigerator, microwave or even a blow dryer. We paid $100 for 2 people for 1 night, and it was truly worth $20. read more

Ok honestly. I know five stars for a Motel 6 seems a little off, but we had SUCH a good stay at this particular location that I felt inclined to write a review. Lompoc itself is a pass-through kind of town...I've actually stayed in the city once before at a hotel 2-3 times as expensive and nowhere near as pleasant. My friend and I were supposed to be camping, but we were shit out of luck and the campground was full for the first night so we called a few different hotels and Motel 6 happened to have an excellent rate and they were super friendly and accommodating over the phone so we headed over and the guy who checked us in could NOT have been more helpful. The town is not a tourist destination, but he managed to take sympathy on us and came up with a few different things we could do for the rest of the day. So sweet. We checked into our room, and it was very modern, not at all like Motel 6's I've stayed at in the past...it was clean, updated, the air was fresh AND they allow pets with no upcharge which was what really sold us since we had a dog with us (all the other hotels in the area charge $30+ per night for pets which is understandable, but still if you can avoid the charge, why not?) They have ice machines downstairs which came in handy refilling our cooler before heading out to the campground the next day, a clean good-sized pool and they are right across the street from a shopping center with plenty of food options, a grocery store and a Starbucks. If you are stuck for a night in this random little town, I highly recommend this hotel. read more

This is a Motel 6. Can a statement count as a review? I suppose I should elaborate just a bit. We drove in about midnight on day 1 of a 6 day long road trip. The guy behind the front desk, despite the neck tattoo and grungy exterior, seemed above Motel 6-expected brightness level. He didn't even charge us for the extra person in the room. About 9 hours later when we went to check out, he offered coffee. Probably 3-day old coffee, but even so. To be offered. Makes all the difference. Less than $50. Love the Motel 6 branded comforter. We got 2 soap bars, so glad I had a bit of my own conditioner on hand. It was clean, at least without a microscope or black light on hand. And thank god for that. read more

Last month (September 2016), my family stayed at this establishment for 2 nights. We had booked 2 identical rooms via a hotel booking site a few weeks before. We were a late check in and called ahead. So when we got in we just wanted to get to our rooms and go to sleep. We were traveling with 2 kids under 10yo and 6 adults. Our rooms were not near each other. There were signs in the lobby that not all air conditioners were working and they were working on it but they didn't tell us that one of the rooms we had booked did not have a working air conditioner. In fact, we left the air on until 3am when we woke up dripping in sweat. The central coast is usually pretty cool this time of year but they were experiencing some of the hottest temperatures during history for the month of September (95*+). They did not offer another room or anything else. The TV in that same room didn't have good signal and again they offered no replacement. But the TV they were watching worked just fine and so did their air. They finally offered a fan (eye roll). We were gone most of the next day but returned to use the pool (that according to their website is available 365 days a year). However, it was closed for maintenance. So now we have no air or TV in one room and no pool. Also, none of our key cards worked. We went to the front desk and they re-activated them. That didn't work and we had to go back. They re-activated them again and they worked. The floors were disgustingly dirty. We used one of the white towels to see how dirty it was under the sink where no one can walk and it was filthy. Never will we ever stay at this establishment!!!!!! Gave 1 star just so I could leave a review. read more

Stayed here a couple of months ago and it was marginal then. It is Motel 6 so you know not to expect luxury. Stayed here last night but probably won't stay here again. Desk clerk was very friendly and the room appeared clean. First of all there was a problem with the wi-fi and evidently the whole motel was having to log back in after having the connection drop. I personally had to log in at least 25 times in one evening. We were offered a refund of $2.95. Kinda creeped out there were long black hairs on the sheets and pillows of both beds but admitted that sometimes happens at home. No big deal. In the middle of the night when I flipped on the light of the bathroom, there was a small cockroach on the toilet tank that I quickly smashed with the spare toilet paper roll. The next morning showed the deal-breaker. The water never got more than lukewarm. Even after running for 20 minuted because of the water-saving shower head. I can deal with some stuff but want a HOT shower in the morning! Get with it Motel 6...you are losing business. read more

The Motel 6 in Lompoc, CA is a complete rip off. One of the worst motels I've ever stayed in, if not THE worst, and I've traveled extensively in my life. The first sign was the fact that when you call their number from off the premises, you can't get through to the front desk. You will get a busy signal every time unless you push the number for reservations where they can take your money. And when you're actually staying in the room, if you dial 0 you get... a busy signal. The front desk is unreachable. Seriously? If we're considering the amenity to cost ratio this craphole gets a negative score. At $100+ a night you'd think certain things would be standard. Not so here. I take issue with the fact that on this site (Yelp), they claim this place is inexpensive. Inexpensive is $50 or less a night, IMO. This heap was twice that. There are so many things to take issue with, but let's start with the fake laminate hard wood floors up on the 2nd level. If this were an apartment complex I'd understand why you might want to install those ugly slats to give the impression of being somewhat higher end (fail btw), but in a motel where people are dragging in their luggage constantly? Huge fail. This is a pet friendly motel, so I'm sure the sound of doggy nails on the hard floor at three AM is pleasant for the folks downstairs. The designers of this motel are idiots. One would reasonably expect certain "luxuries" in a room that costs over $100/night. A mini fridge and microwave are standard amenities for most places in that price range. You're not forced to "upgrade" (ie. pay them more money) in order to have them in your room. Not so here. Not only did our room lack those particular appliances that would have made life easier, they didn't even have tissue. TISSUE!! Kleenex to blow your nose. Nada. What kind of Podunk Punkass establishment doesn't supply tissue? I've stayed in $30/night serial-killer-lurking-next-door shack motels in the middle of Nowhere America and even THEY had effing tissue. I digress. Irritation: the water took two minutes to get warm in the bathroom, and the faucet in the sink had zero pressure, so it takes five minutes just to wash out your spit when you're done brushing your teeth. Normally I'm extremely lenient about housekeeping because I understand their job is a difficult, backbreaking one, but when they tidied up our room on our second day, they took our one and only washcloth and didn't replace it with another. Or two even. Since there were two people staying in the room, it would have been nice to have at least that many washcloths. But we got zero. We were left with nothing but small towels that said POOL on them in black Sharpie marker. And they all smelled like chlorine. W.T.F?! At least the air conditioning unit installed in the ceiling above the sink area in the bathroom didn't leak dirty water on my head while I was brushing my teeth. Oh wait. Yes it did. But at least they provide a trash can in the bathroom and complimentary bottles of shampoo and conditioner since you're forking over a Benjamin a night on weekends. Oh wait. No they don't. The kicker? As if you needed yet another reason to never give this particular Motel Shits your money: they have the audacity to charge you $3 for Wi-Fi that any reasonable hotel, motel, or B&B would include in your cost for staying with them. Given that they've already bled you dry with the nightly rates for a ten-foot square box with nothing but a crap TV in it, one would think free Wi-Fi would be the least they could offer. Apparently, one would be wrong. This place is a joke. Don't waste your hard-earned money here. You could find a campground or a homeless shelter with more amenities than this pile. One star for the cheap price and 1/2 for one nice staff person. Minus stars: 1. Dirty rooms: Hair on the floor and sinks. Cigarrette burn in the bed spread and rust in the toilet. 2. This place is ridiculous, we booked online over a month ago because we were attending a dog show in the area. We specifically requested a bottom floor room due to my older dog having issues going up and down stairs. When we get there we are told there are no ground level floors so we and up in the second level. Open the door and the reek of smoke blasts our face (non-smoking room) and has an ashtray in the room. Then we noticed that the floors are dirty and there was trash under the bed. (They did send someone to clean it however, the cleaning lady then said "is this up to your standard") The bathtub was stained and broken. No refrigerator, the pool was out if order, ice machine was broken. And the support ramp in front of the building is broken and my kid almost cut her hand on it. My family and I travel quite a lot and do realize this is a Motel 6, not the Ritz Carlton, but this place has some of the worst service I have ever experienced. To start with, when we arrived at 2pm I asked if any rooms were available for early check in and were told there would not be any rooms available until check in time at 3pm. We had no problem with this, but at 2:30 when I asked the same young lady at the front desk if my family could use the rest room, I was till there are no public restrooms. When I asked if I could use the employee restroom why we waited, I was told "I think your room is ready". We finally got in the room, the first thing we saw when we walked in was the paint spilled on the floor. When my wife got ready to take a shower, she realized there was bath towels, only face and hand towels and no shampoo, so we called down to the the front desk and were told that if we wanted towels that we had to come down and get them and that they do not provide shampoo. The following morning when we went down to get coffee at 8am, they did not have any coffee brewed, so we had to buy our own, which is fine, but I could have paid 20 dollars more at the Holiday Inn for my wife and I to have, a better room, better service, full size bath towels, and heated pool (I wish I knew this). That evening at 5:30pm when we got home, the cleaning was not done, the mop was on the floor cleaning bottles throughout the the room. The cleaning lady came back 15 minutes later to finish. We waited on the balcony until 6:30 before we could get back in our room. When we asked the front desk what was going on, we were told that there was nothing they could do. We were been informed (without any genuine loyalty) that there is no room to offer inspite of we having a confirmed reservation. We reached with kids in the cold night at about 10:30pm but were turned back saying that the reservation company booked us after they had already closed their reservations. When we asked that they could have atleast had courtesy to call back, the lady at reception said that she was swamped and I did not see a single person she was helping when we reached. Infact there was a guy who wasn't even an employee but thought he was related to the lady and had come to pick him interrupted me while I was having a conversation. These guys should learn to be good human beings before even trying to be good employees. Shame on you Motel 6. Your current yelp rating says it all... So we decided to stay here on our road trip so we could easily access Solvang. All of the hotels were sold out in Solvang due to a big event sat. Obviously this Motel 6 inflated their rate knowing that. I've stayed on $100 motel 6 before and it was nice. This time, I feel I got robbed! This place smelled bad, the ac quit working at 5pm, the walls were paper thin, there was mold in the shower, a roach in the vanity area and cigarette burns in the coverlet on the bed. I tried to find another hotel but was unsuccessful due to not being familiar with the area... so we just delta with it all & tried to sleep. The next morning they changed the price to $53 for that night. $53 is much more acceptable for that shit hole. This place was okay as it was quiet and the bed was comfortable. There were a few Shady people on the premises and not sure that they were staying at the hotel or not. I had to ask the office staff for an extra blanket as there were no extra blankets in the room and they did accommodate me with a blanket. I should have checked more closely for their accommodations because they did not have a microwave or refrigeration. Pretty surprised that there was not a hair dryer in the room and no coffee maker, these should just be standard provisions at any hotel. There was not even Kleenex in the room or shampoo and cream rinse, you only got two very small bars of soap. Floor was dirty but other than that the room seemed somewhat clean. I did appreciate that they had a Gideon Bible in the room as it is sad to see that so many hotel rooms no longer have the Gideon Bibles that can bring Comfort to those that are traveling and might feel lonely. read more

Been to this property a few times. It is newly remodeled, thank goodness! But management is now rude and surly. They place you in smoking rooms even when you book ahead of time and ask for a non smoking room. My room smelled like a wet disgusting ash tray. Had to run over to the supermarket for a bottle of Febreze extra strength to spray down the room, curtains, box spring, walls and lamp shades. This is something house keeping should do, if a room smells as bad as mine did. Water pressure is beyond weak. The only decent thing is the flat screen TV. Room has no clock and no shampoo. You only get two bars of soap and towels that can double as sand paper. And now that rooms go for $100/night....this is all totally unacceptable. read more

Horrible. I always stay at Motel 6's because they are dog-friendly, clean and reasonably priced. This particular Motel 6 in Lompoc was from another planet. The staff was beyond rude, NOT dog-friendly, demanded we pay cash on a biz trip because their computers were down...wait, it gets worse. No toilet paper in the bathroom or hot water for showers that night - thankfully it was working the next morning. I don't know what kind of people usually stay, but the next morning a drug transaction between a toothless guy and a woman who looked like a cross between a hooker and a vagrant happened right outside our door while we were struggling for the umpteenth time with key cards that wouldn't work. Literally, the hand-off happened right in front of us. Would rather pay an extra $100 for a different hotel than deal with this again. read more

I decided to save some money and rent out a room in the weeks prior to my deployment. I entered the room 168 in Motel 6, on North H Street in Lompoc, CA on or around May 23rd. On this night I noticed a roach in the bathroom. In the morning I noticed another roach in the drawer. I informed management, who stated they would give me a new room and a discount upon check out. I was suffering from bronchitis and was unable to move the heavy luggage until the following morning. We moved into an upstairs room (268). Though the bed sheets were cigarette burnt, it appeared relatively clean. Several hours later, I noticed another roach on the ceiling. Since we were ill, we deducted the roaches might exasperate our condition, so we decided to leave that evening. Management stated they would not provide us a discount and/or a refund. I showed them pictures of the roaches, and still they said no refund would be provided. I had to move all of our belongings a third time onto the airforce base, which fortunately had an available vacancy. I proceeded to call corporate, and spoke with Andy, a Guest Relations Agent, who informed me that subsequent to our refund request, the staff at the motel had placed my family and I on a "do not return" list, which barred corporate from issuing any sort of refund. I'm giving it a 2 even on the "Motel 6 Scale." -- "Meh. I've experienced [way] better." As far as Motel 6's go... **CONDITIONS OF FURNISHINGS: This is an older, less renovated one. Our non-smoking room stank to high heaven, and I ended up buying a candle to try and mask the odor--and, I'm not *that* sensitive to stale-smoke. Old carpets. Bathroom toilet runs unless you jiggle the toilet. Bathtub has been reglazed and patched a few times, with vinyl chipping off and rust stains exposed. I don't consider this Motel 6 standards. Usually Motel 6's are simple, spartan, yet well-kept. Everything was clean, though, and the beds were comfortable. **CONDITIONS OF WI-FI: Signal strength registers as good, but couldn't even stream YouTubes well. I was unhappy that you need to purchase per diem log-in codes for EACH computer/device. If you're a family with multiple laptops, phones, ipads, etc., the extra cost for multiple log-ins means that we could have just paid the extra $10 to stay at a nicer place with free wi-fi. **CONDITIONS OF PARKING: Large parking lot, wasn't crowed on a holiday, and spaces are close to the rooms. **CONDITIONS OF POOL: Looked clean and inviting. Moral of the story... Really consider TOTAL costs of your visit. For parties 2 or more, the hidden fees might make staying at a slightly nicer motel with a higher rate more sense. BEST FEATURE: For the price ($50/night), it is a deal to have a mini-fridge. That happened to be really important to us, so we stayed. This is definitely the kind of place you stay at based on economic necessity, because for not much more, you can get nicer in Lompoc. For $12 more, the Day's Inn has free wi-fi and continental breakfast. If you have 2 laptops and a smart phone, it would be worth it. read more

I wouldn't stay here. The only positive thing: staff was nice. Otherwise, what all other reviews say is true, it's honestly not worth the extra $30-$50 you're saving. I wish I'd read yelp reviews before booking this place. read more

Yeah... not good. Right off the bat, the room was freezing. The hard wood floors don't hold in heat, i guess. The "heater" blew out ice cold air making it worse. There was a mystery puddle of water on the floor in one place and a mystery puddle of dried up I don't want to know what next to the bed in another place, which gives me doubts as to the level of cleaning being done here. Add to that the morning wake up call of a dude next door walking in on his woman and another man and screaming all morning, and the utter lack of mini shampoos of any kind and I think you can probably find better for your buck elsewhere. I gave it two stars instead of one cause at least the front desk lady was friendly and accommodating when I asked for a late check out. read more

Worst hotel , i was there on 09/08/17 ..... on checking in the customer service ppl , where nasty. With a little attitude , the girl at the front desk kept trying to talk to my bf .... when I was the one , talking to her . The 1st night , it was horrible , the ac didn't work . When i woke my back was full of bug bites , went up to the front desk ask for my money back, the manager stt to me they couldn't give me a refund , bc corporate where they only ones that issued those , so they told me to call back on 9/12 to find out what is going on . Called they kept giving me excuses , giving me attitude ...... now it 9/18 . Spoke to the manager, ask her about my refund , she stt that she never told me anything like that . I should of known better with the bad ratings. All of hotel 6 hsve low ratings and now I know.... why . Good luck if you stay here read more
