I'm very happy with this shop. I had an unusual request and they executed it flawlessly. I asked them to double the width of my brake pedal because I'm super tall and I was getting knee pain from braking because I have a wide driving stance. Now with my much wider brake pedal, my knee pain is gone because my leg is in a more natural and relaxed position when braking. I'm so glad these guys came through for me! You can see in the photo the original small brake pedal cover against my now much wider brake pedal. Best $200 I've spent on this car! (Note that I haven't put the wider cover on yet.) I visited Motiva to get my 2013 WRX STI dyno'd in NM as my car seemed to have power loss which I assumed was due to altitude. These guys threw my car on the Dyno, the tech constantly kept stopping the runs and messing with wires and such, rebooting the laptop and then the desktop and telling me that my car had 2000 BHP then 200 BHP and eventually told me the Dyno was messed up. Throwing all sorts of excuses as to why my car was running differently, yet offering to re-tune it for $500 (before putting it on a Dyno) they are not experienced at all with turbo engines in my opinion, or maybe just Subaru's - the owner had no clue what it could have been, in fact didn't seem savvy at all regarding automotive tuning, he didn't even understand what the purpose of having different octane maps on my computer was for (91 and 100 octane maps). Sadly these guys still charged me $70 for the Dyno run (they discounted me $10 for the Dyno being out of service). Very disappointed with them and would not recommend them to anyone, very bad first impressions. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Motiva. When walking into the shop (which is beautiful) I saw lots of high end cars and some autos I could only dream of driving. I thought "uh oh, will they do work on my little 2002 Honda Civic?". The answer is not only YES but I could not believe how accommodating and willing they were to satisfy me. It's rare that I have received service like this from anywhere. Besides being super nice to my car, they take care of the customer. With all that aside, the work they did on my car...WOW!!! All I got was a air intake installed and I cannot tell you how how much better my car performs now. I drove it for 2 hours after picking it up, even though I live 3 miles from the shop, lol. I even turned off the stereo just to hear that sweet engine noise. You have to feel/hear it to believe it. Great work....great people! Thanks Motiva! I spent over $6,000 in repairs to my f 250 at Motiva Performance only to have it break down 4 months later in Moab Utah. Stranded on vacation I had it repaired at ford in Moab Utah for something that had already been repaired in Albuquerque at motiva performance $2700.00. Ford warrented the part but i had to pay for labor 2k. I came back to Albuquerque i went to Motiva with my bill and was offered $600.00 WTF I paid you over 6k...... sorry if you would have towed it to Albuquerque we would have fixed it for free What a shitty warrentee . Was quoted over 12k to rebuild my engine and transmission and suspension for my 1981 Trans Am, when it was done I paid over 17k for a car that leaks, dies, has less than 100 horsepower with an Edelbrock intake, quick fuel carb and over camed so no power brakes, and smokes, and was charged twice for many parts and some invoices didn't add up correctly (I didn't know accounting software could automatically add $100 here $106 on another one. I purchased a very expensive car from here only later to find out the clutch was very worn. Also I dealt with attitudes/ unprofessionalism. If you're thinking of buying a car here be sure to have it inspected before buying, especially the clutch. Honestly I would recommend avoiding. read more

This shop is great. I had something break on my '06 Duramax when I was on the road. They got me in the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, got it fixed and for a reasonable price, they didn't gouge me. Great tuning and parts. My SR20 swapped S14 had an Empathy tuned EMS and ran like a dog. I left with a smooth running engine making 250HP.

These guys rock!!!! I had them Tune and Dyno a supercharged Ford F-150 for my dealership and not only did we pick up about 40hp but have had no issues with the truck what-so-ever. First, I called them three times before I got a callback. Then I was told that if I wanted to use the oil I wanted, I would have to get it myself. They charged me $110.00 for an oil and filter change. 9My last change at a prestige shop in Berkeley, CA was $100.00 but included topping off all fluids, checking tire pressure, lubricating the doors, washing the windows and found one of my adjustable sway bar links was loose and fixing it. the next day, there were oil spots on my drive because they had left the drain plug leaking. I brought it back and it took them an hour to fix it. When they were done, the guy simply handed me back the key without any comments. When I did my next gas fill up a few days later, I checked the dipstick and found they had over filled the oil by over a quart which BTW is not good for an engine. I was so ticked by this time that i drained the extra oil by myself. Before retirement was certified in both gas and diesel mechanics in cars and boats. Doing a proper oil change is just about the first thing you learn as a mechanic. If you can't do that right...well, you be the judge. I wish there was a 0 rating! read more

Completely clueless. I brought in my jeep telling them it was starving for fuel. They timed it and did a compression check. I left it with them for a month telling them to be sure they had found the problem. The day I came to pick it up the fuel filter was leaking and I had to wait several hours for that to be repaired. Finally 3 hours later and left and drove 35 miles before it overheated and the fuel pump died. I had to have it towed back and wait several more hours for the fuel pump repair and for my plugs wires to be fixed because they had not been secured on the loom after the timing had been done. I drove it 50 miles and it broke down again. A real mechanic discovered that the high and low vacuum lines had been swapped and the line that should have gone to the distributor was connected to the auto transmission. One line draws between 1-2 and the other draws between 9-12. The timing literally had no vacuum to advance and it had been timed extremely advanced resulting in burned valves and extensive repairs. I contacted them about their terrible work and they would do nothing. Avoid these people at all costs. read more
