Also tried the black garlic bread. Everything was chewy, crispy, and very satisfying. The flavor of the clam chowdah was milder than I thought it would be, but it was nice and worked well as a pizza. The outdoor patio is super cute and dog friendly. My pup appreciated being offered a pepperoni slice (two paws way up). While the za are "personal sized" they're pretty hearty and could easily be shared by two hungry people, making it a good deal for the price point and quality. Friendly and helpful staff. 100% worth the wait! This place has a huge following and you do need to follow them in order to keep up with when to preorder, but it's not that difficult. It's actually nice to preorder a meal months in advance and go on an adventure to west Seattle for pick up. Their pizza variety changes often, but they keep some staple pies on rotation. We did have to put an alert on our calendar (easy) to remember the date and time for pick up. There was a text when it was ready, but it was easiest to add it to our calendar just in case. It was a nice drive to their cute little location. The two owners were more than welcoming! They made you feel like family, super friendly and so appreciative of our business. The pies were fantastic! Thick crunchy crust, gooey cheese with generous toppings. Our kids loved these and already want to order them again. We loved how creative and rich these were. Love, kindness, and fun served through delicious pizza! We ventured from Fremont to West Seattle to check out Moto based on a recommendation from a friend and Moto did not disappoint. We arrived at 3:50 PM, 10 minutes before open and we were the sixth group waiting for open. I loved that the owner came out to say a few words to welcome and thank everyone and also asked who was a first timer and then came over to greet us first timers. This set the tone for a fun and enjoyable visit. The pizza itself was so good. The Pig is such a unique pizza - a beautiful combination of sweet and salty with unique ingredients married with a robust pizza sauce that satisfies your desire for pizza. Made the order for 4 pizzas in july and finally were able to pick them up now (September) but as we got to the front of the line, we realized that months-ahead preorders aren't necessary anymore. Apparently they were able to up their dough production and mow take walk up orders too (anthough they recommend coming closer to opening for walk ups). Our order was ready at precisely our pick up time and we drove to some friends for a mini pizza party. We got the mr pig, clam chowdah, crab, and beef adobo. Honestly it's hard to pick a favorite but i do know my least favorite - definitely the crab which was also the most expensive one. The taste was really the least on the nose and the crab was a bit dry and so shredded you could hardly taste it (but you could taste the butter on it for sure). It was the most expensive one too. We heard about this place from one of the Seattle food instagrams - I always question whether the recommendations from social media are as good as it's made out to be, but Moto ended up exceeding expectations! We preordered in March for a May pickup, ordering two pizzas: the Mr. Pig and the Clam Chowdah. I am not one to plan my meals out months in advance, but that's how popular and hyped this place is right now. If you're not interested in preordering, you can walk in right when they open for a pizza order, which I overheard a customer speaking to staff about. The staff member said they sold out their day-of pizza within 15 minutes of opening. My pre-order was ready a few minutes before my pickup time which was perfect, because I arrived about ten minutes early. They have a cute outdoor space to sit and eat your pizza fresh. So, on to the pizza itself! Both were incredible. The sauce on the Mr. Pig was a lime chimichurri which cut any fattiness the pork had. The Mr. Pig sauce was like a marinara but so much better. Every bite was different and it made for such a great experience! The Clam Chowdah felt like a risk ordering initially - who makes a clam chowder pizza? But Moto did an amazing job of creating a creamy, garlic-y, not fishy at all pizza, and it ended up being my favorite because of how unique it was. It had a little kick because they top it with garlic chili oil, similar to how you might put something spicy like Tabasco/hot sauce in a bowl of clam chowder. Was it worth waiting two months and driving 40 minutes in traffic each way to pick up my order? Absolutely. I can see why there is such a long wait for this place. If you want to get a slice and give it a try I'd recommend getting there at 4pm right when they open and try to get a slice of whatever they have on hand. They have rotating pizza toppings and offerings throughout the different seasons and from what I hear they source all of their ingredients locally from farms which is why there's a limit to the number of pizzas that they're able to make. The pizzas themselves are similar to a deep dish style with a long of cheese - baked to a golden crisp with a lot of small flavors (honey, herbs, etc.) that provide an essence of difference between your typical deep dish vs Moto's pizzas. The prices are fairly steep - nearly $100 for 3 pizzas, but because they are quite filling the average person will probably only eat about 2-3 slices. There is a little patio outside and they offer soft serve ice cream you can get as well. I had the orange creamsicle + strawberry which was pretty nice on a hot summer day! read more

I still always get the Pepperoni pizza (now $19) but I'm upgrading to 5 stars because I literally plan a day around snagging a pizza, and every time I see a square pizza elsewhere I hope it's as good as Moto, but of course, it is not. I haven't ordered online since my first visit, and instead just try to come 10-15 minutes before opening to wait in line for a walk-in order. This method has not failed me yet. They have a covering over their front lawn now, which I was very grateful for the time I waited on a rainy night. My boyfriend's favorite so far is still the Mr. Pig $19. He's gotten that one twice. We tried the Harlem Chop $15 once and neither of us were super into it. He also tried the Clam Chowdah $22 and said it was good, but still likes Mr. Pig more. I didn't try the Clam Chowdah as I don't eat any seafood. I also get a cup of soft serve every time. You can get 2 flavor swirls if you want. Parking sucks around here, staff were rude, and I ordered to pick up which had a two hour wait time and I still waited there 20 mins past the pick up time. I think their pizza is fine, but this is the most inconvenient place to get food. This place is not worth it and I think the only appeal was that it had an idiotic you'd have to order a pizza 6 months in advance which is garbage but fooled everyone else. I was super excited to finally get an order in and to finally try out the pizza two months later! After reading the reviews and then trying it out for myself I would agree that the pizzas are great. I got the All-In and the Root. I was surprised and enjoyed the Root pizza a bit more due to its unique taste. Both pizzas have lots of sauce- which I love. The crust is thick, but it's light and tasty. I was curious if there has been any thoughts about par-baking them at the restaurant and letting us finish the cooking at home to keep the crust crisp longer? I had read reviews about the crust being soggy so I knew my 20 mins trip home might result in me not getting the full pizza experience. A friend told me about Moto Pizza and raved about it so thought I would give it a try. There is a 3 month wait for orders and you get an appointment to pick it up. I arrived early tonight and waited in my car. The instructions were to wait and they text you when it's ready and sure enough exactly on time I received the text telling me to come and get it! I ordered 2 of the crab pizzas and one they call "Kissed" which is a sausage and pepperoni combo. The pizzas are square, deep dish and absolutely delicious! The crust is baked crunchy and cheesy, the pie is thick and light at the same time and the toppings are perfection! The Kissed was exceptionally good and I definitely recommend it. The crab was excellent as well but more of a savory style, meaning no sauce. Personally I think it might be better with some kind of sauce however I see where they are going with it and the flavor was amazing. After a 7 week wait, finally got the magical text to come pick up my pizza. Maybe my expectations were too high, but it was just okay in my book. I ordered two - kiss'd and crab. Kiss'd was the better of the two. I appreciated the classic flavor and really did love the bread / dough. Springy, soft and crunchy at the edges. What I liked less was the sauce tasted sweet and the ratio of bread to topping seemed off. Crab was very underwhelming IMO. It tasted like a glorified breadstick. If there was a white sauce on the pizza, I couldn't detect it. It also was pretty bland / lacking overall seasoning. The last thing I didn't like was the crab was just dumped on top of the pizza not incorporated throughout as a true topping. Overall - unpopular opinion - I do not think this spot is worth a near two month wait. Kiss'd was decent but too sweet for me personally. What's it like to wait 2 months for pizza? In this current age of immediate reward such as same day Amazon deliveries, 3 second app downloads, etc. it may be unfathomable to even think about waiting that long for pizza...but I gotta tell ya, it's worth it. How can you not be excited about pick up day?! It's like winning a contest and claiming your prize. The Toast Takeout notification popped up on my phone and my friend and I made our way to the front steps of the converted house turned restaurant sandwiched between 2 buildings. I love that they've preserved the structure of the home showing the historical significance of what the area used to be like: a single family dwelling neighborhood. The parking lot across the street is still there but the days of free parking is long gone. It wasn't raining so we saw Seahawk green colored tables and chairs and decided to eat our food there. You want quality? They have it. The pepperoni pizza was amazing--no skimping on the pepperoni and the flavors were deliciously rich. The crab pizza was awesome too--so Pacific NW that it puts a smile on a local's face. The owners were genuinely kind and welcoming. You can just tell how much they love meeting people. The pizza here is simply insane. It's so delicious and every single bite is jam packed with flavors and textures. I've been to New York, Italy, Chicago, and this is easily one of the most unforgettable pizzas I've ever eaten. One of my all-time faves for sure. I tried the Mr. Pig, Crab, and Kissd pizzas. Mr. Pig was my favorite by the slightest margin. It just has so much going on every bite is a party lmao It's saucy, meaty, crispy, spicy, cheesy, gooey, every delicious adjective. Crab was refreshing. It's not saucy like the other two pizzas, but the dill and thyme and lemon give it a lighter, fresher taste. Of course, the crab is meaty and topped generously. Kissd was a close second for me. I loved all of the tomato sauce and the pepperoni was remarkable - not too salty or burnt or bland. The highlight is the thai chili honey, adding this super interesting sweet and spicy dimension to the pizza. One of my fave parts of all the pizzas is that they perfected this Detroit style of pizza. The crust is buttery and all the edges have that brick cheese baked around so even the crust is rich and flavorful. The service was energetic and welcoming. Lee and Nancy are so friendly and make any waiting worth it. I came today (a Wednesday) at 4pm and parked right in front. Ordering here is a bit elusive. Their online ordering isn't the clearest; their web site just says they're sold out months ahead of time. I don't think I saw details about ordering on their Instagram either. I saw another Yelp review say they make some pizzas for walk-ins but it's best to come right when they open in case they sell out early. So I took a chance and made the trek out to West Seattle. So glad I did! When I came at opening at 4pm there were maybe 3-4 parties ahead of me. After ordering, the pizzas were ready in about 20-25min. I parked on the street right in front. WOW!! This place is amazing. Their pizzas are absolutely incredible. They have great vegan options and the cheeses they use for their vegan cheeses are delightful, honestly the best we've had. It's gooey and crispy on the crusts. They also use sourdough for their dough and their pasta sauce is out of this world. The combo of their pizza toppings is like a party in your mouth. They're unique but not too out of the box and really work amazing together. The owners are also so sweet and welcoming. They really care about the quality of their pizzas. They even have a mushroom forager that provides their mushrooms! We just love coming in there and always feel so happy and welcomed. They also have delicious soft serve ice cream! I wondered why they didn't make bigger sized pizzas but I think it's because the right-angle 2 sides are perfectly heavenly crunchy-savory with the crisp cheesy edges... makes you want 4 corners. 2 slices are way filling! I had heard about MOTO and was ecstatic to find out that it was in the neighborhood. Finding out that MOTO was here and I could go anytime was the best. I feel enormously grateful to have this place in my neighborhood, especially because their other offering, besides their EPIC pizzas, is soft serve ice cream and MOTOPIPE Cones. With the warm weather lately, I have been aching for some ice cream. Yesterday I finally had the chance to try MOTO's soft serve. All the soft serve is Vanilla, but you get to choose the flavor rim. There are many to choose from including Strawberry, Chocolate, Green Apple, and more. For mine, I chose Chocolate. The chocolate-vanilla combo was perfection. It was everything that is wonderful about swirl soft serve--it is the best of both worlds. The MOTOPIPE Cone is a chimney cake cone and so very delicious! It is a must-order. The cone is cinnamon-sugar goodness on a pastry--crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. With the ice cream melting inside, it just adds more flavoring and softens up the cone more. The cones come with several rimmed toppings. I chose Sprinkles for mine--classic! The toppings are held on by chocolate, which adds another layer of goodness to the dessert. The whole dessert is just happiness and a ray of sunshine. It is something unique and special. When I took my first bites of my Pepperoni pizza last weekend, I feel deeply, deeply in love. Usually when I order pizza, I always order extra sauce. I love sauce, saucy pizza, and saucy pasta. There is no need for that with MOTO! It has ALLLLL the sauce! I am also in love with thicker sliced pizzas, which MOTO makes. Their crust has a nice little crunch to it. The cheese on the edges crisps up and makes it one of the best parts. Much better than a traditional pizza where crusts are either meh or discarded altogether. This pizza is not just for sauce lovers, it has plenty of cheesy goodness! You can see the extra cheese sprinkled on top. We ordered two pizzas, one for each of us. We could have had one between us, but that would have made no leftovers and left a serious want for more. I recommend one pizza per person knowing there *will* be leftovers. You will want leftovers. I am so fortunate and grateful to live close enough to stop by for a 4pm pizza order. And I can also wait for another order, months away from now. That wait will be worth it. This pizza was worth the 1.5mos we waited. I recommend you order now. Today I finally got to Moto after trying to order their pizza for weeks! I went in for ice cream--and hoping to manage to snag a spot for getting pizza when it's finally available in June! But I never made it to the ice cream because it turns out they have a few pizzas available every day for walk-ins! And I snagged one!!! Now we need to talk about this pizza. Oh my god this pizza. I moved here from the east coast. I spent time living in New York. And pizza in Seattle has made me so sad. Some of it is fine. Some of it is good. But none of it is the kind of pizza you dream about. Or go out of your way for. And none of it is in the same league as great NYC pizza: until Moto. This pizza is delicious. The cheese is perfect. The sauce is sweet but not too sweet. The pepperoni cups are so legit: perfect little cups. And the crust. Oh my god the crust. Often square pizza hits you like a brick. It's delicious, but if you eat more than one slice you regret it. This sourdough crust was flavorful but not overpowering. And its texture was everything I hoped it would be: crispy on the outside but so soft on the inside! I ate two slices without coming up for air. And I can't wait to go back for more! The people at Moto were also awesome, coming around to talk to everyone who was freaking out over how good the pizza was at the tables in their super cute seating area. And a fun little community was building: people at different tables were all talking to each other like omg how is this so good?!! You might remember going to Coldstone Creamery in the early 2010s and seeing a menu item called "Staff Creations.""" Staff were encouraged to add items to the menu that they had concocted themselves for customers to sample. The problem was that the staff were children and not proper chefs, so the food didn't have any balance; just sweet on sweet on sweet. That's how I feel about Moto Pizza. We got 4 pies since we were going to have 4 people, but it ended up being 2 of us due to having to reschedule our order due to a family emergency earlier this year. We got the Pepperoni, Clam, Kissd, and Shrimp pies. As I carried them to the car, the bottoms of the boxes were soaking wet. Eating the pizza, you can tell someone knows crust. Shaped well, good texture, and flavorful. Eating the pizza, you can also tell that someone missed the balance of pizza. Salt on salt and rich on rich while being absolutely drowned in grease. Papa Pete's got away with a million tiny pepperoni because they used low sodium meats, but these are so unbelievably salty, it's laughable. The flavor of the clam will blow your mind, but the richness makes it inedible after a bite or two. The shrimp were hard and overcooked while the stupidly flavorful sauces were overshadowed by the grease and salt. Every single pizza leaked through the paper and through the cardboard box by the time we got home and made a stain on my seat cover. I can't believe this was the intended product, but it's what I was served. My shout-out goes to the staff. When we needed to change our pickup day, they jumped into action and communicated sympathy. I've never had a pizza restaurant check in on me and my family down the road to make sure we were doing well, but Moto Pizza staff emailed us a couple of times. Walking into Moto, we were greeted like longtime customers and treated extremely well. But I don't think I'll make another order for this pizza. read more

what else could you possibly hope for as a business owner opening your doors during a pandemic than to see a string of easily 8-10 people, socially distanced, waiting outside to order your deep dish pizza?! that was the scene at 3:50 on opening day and if that is any foreshadowing, moto will be here to stay! they only had walk-in ordering of pizzas today and weekend one but i used the touchscreen ordering and paid with a tip. i entered my phone number and promptly received a text saying what number my order was. i was told i'd get another text when my pizza was boxed up and ready to be retrieved (with so many people waiting to order and the cold temps, most opted to order and exit the tiny house so others could start their process.) the owner came out not once but a couple of times, right after the doors first opened for business at 4pm, completely overwhelmed that so many people had turned out, taking photos because he was so grateful! he reminded everyone he really was cooking pizzas in the back but with a huge smile and such graciousness, how could you not feel happy for him?! i decided to go for broke and ordered the crab pizza. it sounded so tasty! the dough is great and as someone who's already admitted in other yelp pizza reviews that i tend to go for thin crust, the carmelization on the edge of this and the not so thick thickness really did it for me. i'm not a chicago or detroit style pizza expert by any means but here's how i would describe the thickness for those wondering: it's definitely a cm or so thicker than thin crust and maybe a cm or more thinner than deep dish but i found it to be a good balance and not so doughy that i felt i was eating bread with toppings on it. (make sense?) you'd think that's enough to review but there's more (apologies but keep reading if you want to know what kind of people own this place!) i went back to pick up my order and nancy explained to me that the first day payment glitches included my getting overcharged for the pizza i ordered. with easily 15 people waiting on the sidewalk yet to order, she walked me through what they intended to do about either crediting me the amount on a subsequent purchase or refunding the amount to me. this kind of personal attention is going to go over well among people here in west seattle. super nice gesture to acknowledge the mistake given everything else they were dealing with an hour after their doors opened for the first time. give them a try! the pizza was delicious, the personalized service spot on and the pricing (once they work out the bugs) reasonable for the size and quantity of toppings. moto, i predict you've got a bright future on our peninsula. read more

A friend ordered these pizzas months ago and I finally got to try. This is really good pizza. The crust is so light and crisp and the flavors are bold. We tried the KISSD, Mr. Pig and Clam Chowder. All three pizzas were unique and delicious in their own right. My favorite was the Mr. Pig. All the little splashes of sauces really make the taste explode. When we at the pizza it was probably over an hour old. It still tastes great. I don't know if I would wait 3 months for any pizza, but I hear they opened one in Edmunds so maybe the wait will be shorter there. read more

This place just gets better and better! We were lucky enough to try it their opening weekend. Waited a few hours to try the newest pizza in West Seattle! So glad we did because it took off like a rocket and getting an order has become a quest! Online orders are booked months in advance. We decided to show up and beg if we had to last Saturday and we were blessed to be 2nd in line. Their pizzas are even better than they were that first week! Not sure how! They were already pretty amazing on week 1! We got 3: a cheese; a vegan pepperoni with regular cheese; and the Root! All 3 were phenomenal! The root is probably my favorite if I have to choose. The mushrooms are so meaty and fresh. It is like an amazing combination of unique flavors that explode in your mouth. Every bite is spectacular. If you have not tried MOTO Pizza yet, make it a must try soon! This guy knows pizza and from what I am told they are all uniquely fabulous. I am vegetarian so did not try the Pig or crab but honestly the small makes me want to take a break from my veggie life! Wow! read more
