I love Ft. Collins and finding restaurants like this.

This is so good! I think I'm gonna quit working so I can just come and hang out here and eat every day. The pancakes were unbelievable. The Denver omelette was the best I've ever tasted and the service is impeccably nice.

Charming cozy and friendly staff - step back into 1975 -and the food is yum. The decor is nostalgic of Route 66 off road diner- prices are fair. Great music and the chef is awesome. Owner was serving tables. Try it

Cute little place, felt very old school which is my kind of scene. We were greeted right away and sat down in a booth. We didn't have much time otherwise we'd have ordered more but we both ordered some juice and coffee, and got the cinnamon rolls. I didn't realize they'd be so big! We definitely could have shared. The staff were all nice and friendly. We both said that if I'm the area again we would surely come back and try a more heart breakfast!

Small simple diner with solid food. Smaller menu than a Jersey diner, but similar quality. I got the fantastic omelet ($12.50) with ham, bacon, cheese, mushrooms, onions, and peppers. Good portion and very satisfying meal

Good place for a larger group as they have plenty of space to push tables together. The indoor decor and feeling is very relaxed and comfortable. I'm only removing one star because I've had two exceptional experiences. Am really disappointed by tonight's experience. ********* Really good food and really good service. On our last visit we had Derek as our server and he did a great job! The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and comfortable. As a typical party of 5, I very much appreciate having a table that actually seats 5 and not a table for 4 with a chair pulled up. We will continue to return.

We have eaten twice at The Emporium now; last Thanksgiving (2025) and Christmas dinner (at noon)…read more My wife and I used to go to The Broadmoor for Sunday Brunch, but they lost us last year after an abysmal meal. Adding insult to injury, no one seemed to care when I spoke to management about it. The review for The Emporium is much better because 1) It's IN FORT COLLINS, and 2) The manager, "Michael", is somone who cares. On both occasions there were a few things "off" about the meal. On Christmas day, the sea bass was dry. I felt bad for the poor sea bass that gave its life for a meal, only to have it prepared and served without a white sauce. This is a small complaint though, because everything else, from the silver chafing dishes to the spotless tablecloths and napkins, was top notch! On Thanksgiving Day, the place was PACKED. This time around, the collection of locals was rather sparse. I suspect this was because of the way the meal was priced the first time. On Thanksgiving, I felt positively gouged. There was a 20% service charge added for the servers, and a 3% service charge for the unseen "people in the back". Keep in mind that this was a buffet, which, if a mandatory tip is required, usually garners 10%, mainly because the servers' job is minimal. I certainly would NOT be expected to pay the busboy's salary! As you might imagine, an unexpected, mandatory tip of 23% left a bitter taste in this ex-waiter's/business owner's mouth, especially since the dinner was $75 each. I believe that if management cannot pay their "back people" decent wages, the perhaps the situation should be reevaluated. Nonetheless, we went back for Christmas dinner. The carving station at the end of the chafing dishes was nice . . . the ham was tender and moist, and the filet mignon (this time) was, as well. On Thanksgiving, the filets more closely resembled shoe leather. I worked at a country club for at one time, and they had many more chefs, I would imagine, than The Emporium had. Plenty of professionals paying attention to details makes sure that sort of thing doesn't happen. There was plenty of food, though. The potatoes with onions (or, was it the mac and cheese?) was disappointing, as there was no onion flavor to be found. They were "OK", though. I just didn't have seconds. The manager, "Michael", came to our table on both counts, after I mentioned to our server (who asked "How is everything?"). I regretted saying anything the second time, because the sea bass was such a small part of our meal. As I told Michael though, "If you are not aware of a problem, you cannot fix it". He totally agreed, and as a good manger will do, took it in stride. One other bright spot was "Hannah", who assisted me by taking a photo of our party in front of their bee-yoo-ti-ful Christmas tree. I will include the photo, just you can see the tree and winding staircase. Hopefully, they will have another brunch soon, maybe at Easter, so we can enjoy another delicious meal served at a local restaurant!

We started with a beer for my husband and a mocktail for me. The mocktail (blueberry lemonade) was simply not worth the $7 price tag. Mostly ice - filled to the literal rim of the glass. So full when I took one of my first sips, ice fell to the floor. There was just a splash of ginger beer; it could've used more but, alas, no room with all that ice! When I mentioned it to the server, she explained that's how they make them. She offered to bring me another, but it seemed clear she meant I'd be paying for it. No thank you. Next, my food. I tried the salmon burger (new to the menu, I'm told) which is actually a salmon croquette on a bun with some lettuce and vinaigrette. It's HUGE and not in a good way. The first few bites were okay, and I thought the heavily breaded effect was due to biting into the edge. As I continued eating, though, most bites felt like a mouthful of bread. I can only hope there was minced salmon in it, but the ratio was so heavy on breadcrumbs that I couldn't detect it. Not the slightest hint of pink on the inside either. I ate about 1/2, my hungry hub finished it. The flaws of the salmon burger didn't seem worth pointing out to the server after the response I got with the drink. Later, as we walked around downtown, I felt like I had a lead sandwich in my stomach. My husband had a better experience than I. His bison burger came out great. No complaints. Unfortunately for me, I think I'll just have to order very specific things when coming here now. Austin's has sentimental value for me - it's the first place we dined after moving here 27 years ago. Because of that, I keep giving them second chances after they fall short. I just wish they'd return to the days of "you can't go wrong", everything is awesome.

While interested in the tuna sandwich, I was really hungry, so I got an omelette instead. As it turns out, judging by the size of my wife's chicken salad sandwich and fries, the tuna likely would've been plenty for me, and I'll try it on a future visit. My omelette (with cheese, spinach, mushrooms, and onions) was fine, but nothing unusual from an omelette you'd get elsewhere. Home fries and ciabatta toast were both really good too. Coffee was delicious. Speaking of the chicken salad sandwich, my wife enjoyed it on her first visit too and was equally impressed this time. Definitely a big sandwich. I'm sure she'll get it again.

Thankfully, it was a beautiful February day, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine while we waited. The restaurant isn't very big, so it's a little bit noisy. But the wallpaper is really beautiful and it fits the theme very well. Some of the things highlighted in other reviews include homemade bread and homemade hot sauce. I'm not a hot sauce eater, so I can't weigh in on that. The fresh bread was pretty awesome. The fresh jam was Cherry vanilla, which neither of us liked very much. It tasted too much like pie filling, and the texture was off. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak immensely. My breakfast, which included a large pancake, an egg and a link of sausage was priced at $10 which was an amazing price. Both of us went home with leftovers. Our server was friendly and attentive. She may have had a bit too much energy if I'm being honest, but I'd rather that than someone who is lackluster and boring!
