Mountain Mike's is great pizza. The restaurant itself has an old time feel to it, with multi level floors and older tables and chairs. They provide free water from the counter and have the usual assortment of soft drinks available from their fountain. Big screen TV's adorn the walls with the prerequisite NFL game playing to add ambiance. The place could use a decent cleaning. It seemed that they were understaffed because the tables needed a good wipe down. The floors were sticky in some places, particularly under the first (crummy) table we chose. We moved to a second (crummy) table and the floor under neath was in better shape. The pizza was excellent. We ordered a pepperoni and a chicken/bacon/garlic. Both pies had a crisp and delicious yeasty crust and they are generous with the toppings. I'd recommend their pizza to anyone. However, you may want to take it to go unless you don't mind sticky tables and floors. If that's you're thing, then MM's will be a slice of heaven for you! read more

Five minutes. Then I hang up and call back. Same guy answers and takes my order right away, without any explanation. Huh? My order was $57, so I'm thinking the service will be reasonable. He assured me 45 to 60 minutes. Fine, it's Friday and I understand they're busy. The appointed time passes ... no knock on the door. No call to say they're on the way. There's a light rain coming down so I wait ten or fifteen minutes before calling. Same guy picks up. I'm not rude, but I explain. Then I ask 'where are my pizzas?' 'Oh, we got really busy here. The delivery guy is leaving now and he'll be there in just a few minutes'. Wow. Yes I did listen, but there was no apology in there anywhere. I always would walk by here but would never stop in. I'm glad I finally did because the Wednesday night deal for all you can eat pizza and salad for $5.99 is totally worth it. If you stop in and ask for the dinner special, you can have as much salad and pizza for just over $6 with tax. Super deal. The hours are from 5pm- 8pm. If you go in for the lunch special, it's about a buck cheaper and I think it's from 11:30am- 1pm but don't quote me on that. Disappointing establishment. Misleading food naming and pricing paired with lack of pictures had lead to overpaying for low quality food which is very often different from what one would expect. I'd much rather go to Raley's in the same lot and purchase a frozen pizza of greater quality for a lesser price. Besides this, the staff seem to have some form of functional existential dysphoria as they have lost a grasp on basic courtesy and their ability to interact with other humans is lackluster at best. Their pizza's are not something to rave about but they are reliably good both in-house and delivered and are better than a lot of other places in the area (especially the larger chains). I've always had friendly interactions from the staff and they try to keep it clean. My son and I usually go here for Pizza night. Upsides: the staff, a good selection of the specialty pizzas, the sauce is good and the pizzas are well cooked. Downsides: the salad bar is not good enough to be acceptable, grey iceberg lettuce and minimal items. Did an online order that glitched and sent to this store which is an hour from where I live. I called to have the order cancelled/refunded (per local Mountain Mike's recommendation) and the "manager" said that they couldn't issue me any sort of refund-I was told I could drive there and still get my pizza...that was an hour away or "let it go as a loss." Update: Fiancé drove down and showed the manager proof of my internet glitch. They made him a new pizza. Still had to drive 70 minutes round trip, but at least there was an attempt to make it right. Update 2: Received a call/email from Mountain Mike's and they 1) apologized, 2) gave me a free pizza voucher, and 3) wanted to know exactly what happened so that it wouldn't happen to anyone else. It is the typical low quality salad bar associated with pizza places so it meets expectations. Their pizza on the buffet is fine but they are very stingy on putting out pizza. We were there for over an hour and the never restocked the pizza. This was prime lunch time from 12:30 to 1:30. There was less than half a pizza up there for a good 40 minutes and it was all bell pepper containing. So for $10 I would recommend you find another lunch spot. read more

Living on foothill road can make the options for delivery very scarce, basically limited to pizza, so after much experimenting with other places mountain mikes has become my 'go to' for delivery. At my condo we've been burned many times by pizza guys and the like, forgetting items, messing up the pizza order, or taking 2 hours for delivery since we are more out of the way. Mountain mikes always gives us 40 to 50 minute estimate, and has always arrived ahead of schedule (even on weekends!). Haven't had a single order messed up yet. The pizza is always incredibly tasty, never too greasy and you can tell by the color and taste that the cheese is very fresh! And if you order EXTRA cheese or toppings, they sure as heck GIVE you EXTRA toppings! The sides are always good, but for me the pizza is where they shine. We love this place and have to have a really good reason not to order from them. It's a family owned business and they treat their customers like family. The daughter of the owners has gone to school with my oldest daughter since kindergarten and they are now in high school. What an amazing family they are. They also support our schools again and again and again. Anytime there's a school event that requires pizza, it's always this Mt. Mike's that steps up. My youngest daughter's 3rd grade class had awards for good behavior which included a pizza lunch with their teacher, and well you can guess who came through with the pizza. The owner's name is Paul and when he's not there, you can bet you'll find his nephew there. They manage quality and service tightly and oversee everything themselves. It's been in the same location for years and is the "standard" location for most families on our side of the town when they talk about getting pizza. We'll meet friends for pizza, and we just know that we're talking about this "Mt. Mike's" without ever having to say it. In terms of their food.......I can't get enough of their BBQ chicken pizza and then they also have this heavenly garlic chicken pizza with a white sauce. Oh My! I organized my daughter's last soccer team party here and we ordered about ten different pizzas. Everyone one of them was so good, including the vegetarian pizza that was the first to go (that never happens). They of course have kid's favorites too and the best garlic cheese bread that my nine-year-old loves. All in all, I always feel good about doing business with this family as they totally give back to the community, and most importantly to Pleasanton city schools. read more
