Maybe the Move Square people that moved us were imposters b/c our experience could not be more opposite than those with positive reviews. To start with, we did not get one of those new yellow trucks with "MoveSquare" logo. Movers showed up in an old white truck with no identifying signage. No logo'd shirts. Pre-move, I pointed out an antique dresser and stressed it needed to be handled with great care. Regardless of warning, they tore the wooden support that holds the rightwing mirror and left it shrink wrapped because otherwise, the mirror would have likely fallen off. They did not wrap the dresser in blankets. In fact, I did not see them using any blankets. Put co. on notice of damage. Movers didn't realize IKEA cubby was bolted to the wall. They forcibly removed it tearing two holes in the drywall; one of which was 9" wide. They left the drywall pieces and bolts dangling from the back of the cubby. Landlord deducted $75 from our security deposit. Provided co. with receipt and request for reimbursement two times. Both requests for such a nominal amount were ignored until I posted this review. Then my requests were declined. Accidently, I paid a portion of their $1000+ fee (local move for contents of 2 bedrooms) on Venmo twice. Noticed error and contacted co. with request for reimbursement. Request declined. Requested again. Request declined again. Stopped payment at bank. Venmo paid it and pursued Move-Square for reimbursement which they got. BTW, they do not have a claim form which is customary for moving companies. No doubt that is because they never pay out on a claim...not even one for less than $100. There isn't a single good reason to hire this company. Don't do it.

50% more than quoted, Broken 65' TV, Police Called, drivers almost took off with my stuff. Yea, that bad. Read on. This is the second time I have used to Move Square. Last time wasn't a great experience either and I should have learned my lesson, but my hope was I just got a bad crew last time. I am trying to support small businesses in this time of need and wanted to use a company with decent reviews that were local and I paid for it dearly, it got really bad. I was moving approximately 2 1/2 miles to our new home my pregnant wife and I purchased (we also have a 2.5-year-old). I filled out the questionnaire, spoke to Allen from move Square, explained the size of the home and rooms and he quoted me about $650 for the job weeks before. On moving day, the truck arrives, and I meet Hugo (The foremen). As I experienced last time, there was a language barrier, but we got passed that initially. The move seemed to be going ok for about an hour, then Hugo comes to me and says we should add a 4th guy, it would be more cost-effective, and it begins. An hour later, 4th guy shows up. I am directing them telling them what items are delicate. These guys like to wrap everything, they say it is to keep everything safe, but I watched them burn 2 hours wrapping ridiculous things in plastic-like garden equipment. Seeing this scamish move go down last time, I pre-wrapped the stuff that matters but that didn't seem to speed up the process, in fact, they ended up breaking stuff anyway. Next, about 3 hours in. Hugo tells me the truck is not big enough, and they will need to make 2 trips because if he tries to pack the truck to tight, things may break while driving. I begrudgingly accepted and called the manager Allen and expressed my discontent with the fact that I was paying attention to the time, and now with the additional trip, it's looking like it is going to be more than double what I was quoted. Allen said that "I had a lot of stuff" and they are doing the best they can. I told him the top of my budget for the move was $1,000 ($450 more than I was quoted) and he needed to figure out how to make it work for that price. Once we finished the two trips, the movers started unloading and the new place and destroyed my carpet, I left booties out becuase the carpet was cleaned a 2 days earlier, they walked right past them, finally, I had to lay down towels and moving blankets to try and stop the damage. Shortly after that, I noticed the TV leaning again a dresser, shocked I put it again the wall, unwrapped it and as suspected, completely broken! I quickly got Hugo to see it, he looked, asked to call his boss, he did, and then told me that they would not be responsible for it. So I get on the phone with Allen, (The Boss) and he proceeds to tell me that because they did not wrap it that they are not responsible. I was like "are you kidding me" after some a heated conversation, he threatened to have the movers stop moving, close the truck and leave. I told him if he did that, I am calling the police as it would be theft at that point. The movers proceeded to stop moving, closed the truck, and I called the Oceanside Police Dept. Police came 15 minutes later and explained to the movers that if they left with my property they would be committing a crime, and they would need to unload the rest of my property before we left. So they quickly moved it in the garage in a pile, not in the rooms where I needed it leaving me by myself to carry furniture up the stairs and into the specified rooms. Obviously, this cannot be done with the help of my wife because she is pregnant and now I will have to recruit a friend or two in the middle of the pandemic to finish the move. So frustrating. At this point, Allen kept calling me to try and resolve, slapped me with a $1,200 invoice, and said if I sign and pay the money we could resolve the TV situation later. I was like "nope, we will go ahead and take care of that now or I am not paying you anything and I'll see you in court buddy." I offered for him to claim it on his insurance, he changed the subject. Then the moving foremen Hugo said I only paid for the "basic insurance" and would only cover $.60 per lb - I never had a choice to choose a basic or full coverage premium. Long story short, I told Allen, that I would give him $600 to just leave and not one red cent more. He tried to get $700 out of me and I explained that I would rather go to court over the civil dispute as I suspect they didn't have insurance and or shady labor practices. He accepted the $600 and I signed the final contract document all of this (I wrote it in by hand). So, buyer beware, If you don't sign the final contract once the move is complete, you have some recourse, I am lucky I discovered this before the move was complete, otherwise, I would have been totally at a loss of about $750. So choose a different company. Good luck!

I've worked with many moving companies within the past decade - for local moves, for interstate moves, and even cross-country. Mistakes happen. Things will be broken. After all, movers are only human. But the complete lack of professionalism I've experienced with Move Square's management, during and after the move, was astounding. The manager refused to take any accountability for the damages and did not reimburse even at the minimum coverage ($0.60/lb). And the damage was extensive (please see attached photos). Most of my expensive electronics were broken during this move. Please support literally any other moving company. I originally scheduled a full-service local move with another company. I had done my due diligence and researched the original company. Unfortunately, they had a labor shortage and outsourced the contract to Move Square. I found out on the morning of, when Move Square showed up at my door. With short notice, I wasn't able to look into Move Square, nor was I able to purchase moving insurance. I made the snap decision to proceed with the move anyway. But God, I really should have gotten insurance. Note: Review cut short. See attached for full review They ripped my couch and broke the elevator in one fell swoop, racing to load the couch into the elevator without first checking if it could fit. They used the couch as a battering ram. (See photos) Worse, the crew didn't come forward to tell us they'd broken the elevator. We realized we hadn't seen them bring anything in for a while. Then we received a call from our complex who told us what the crew had done. This resulted in 2 hrs where the crew did nothing. We live on a higher floor, which means a lot of stairs. At least the crew felt guilty. So at the end of the day, the lead guy negotiated with the manager to knock the down time off our bill. Later, we found out that the manager had no intention of compensating us for damages because, in his mind, he'd given us a "discount". More on that later. Nearly everything with an electronic screen was broken. I thankfully brought most electronics ahead. But my TV was shattered. They do not box TVs. They throw a moving blanket on and wrap it in plastic. My Xbox, PC monitor and Bose speakers were also broken upon arrival. I suspect Move Square pays Yelp to filter out negative reviews from their overall rating. I also assume that anyone who gave 5 stars somehow had all of their things delivered intact without a need to put in a damage claim. But again, accidents happen. So professional movers usually send a claim form to provide compensation. Here's an indicator of how shady Move Square is. This is the only company I've encountered that doesn't provide one. You have to call the manager, Arslan, to "submit" your claim... If he chooses to acknowledge it. And Arslan was the LEAST professional part of this move. Forget the negligence of the movers. They at least felt bad. Even while his crew member was vouching for us, Arslan constantly talked over us. He acted like he was going above and beyond "giving us a discount" for the hrs that the crew didn't even work. We were exhausted after this one encounter (especially after the long, stressful move). Going forward, I worked with the original company to talk with Move Square. The other company provides Move Square with some of their extra work, so Move Square cares about this relationship. Arslan was finally on his best behavior, or so it seemed. Arslan supposedly agreed to take responsibility for the damages. I felt relieved. But only until I found out he had no intention of doing so. I called twice. 1st call: he denied ever agreeing to reimburse the couch or TV, which were the two most damaged items. He considered it as part of the 'discount'. I explained (while he talked over me) how this 'discount' was for the crew's downtime (which they caused). It didn't cover the new couch or the TV. Unrelenting, he said to call back to claim damages for the rest of the items I should have just kept him on the phone and finished unpacking right then to keep him to his word. 2nd: He claimed the account was "closed". I reminded him that he told me to call back claim the rest of the items. He just ignored and talked over me. Even at the min rate of 60₵/lb I should've been reimbursed at least $200, and that's excluding the couch and TV. While trying to reason with him, Arslan hung up. And that is exactly why a company like Move Square chooses not to have a claim form. Please just support ANY other moving company. After learning what Arslan had done, the original company stepped up to help reimburse me when they weren't even the ones who damaged my belongings. These are other companies who understand that this is a people business and sincerely want their customers to have a good experience and are willing to make it right. Arslan should not be in business where people are concerned.

Hugo, Salim & Anil arrived on time, we're professional and courteous. They moved quickly and were very careful with all of our furniture making for a smooth process. The two movers that came to help me move into my new apartment where great and friendly. Good attitude and we're very quick. I will say that that quoting process was fast and great. Day of move I was waiting for them and received an email that they couldn't contact me. They wrote down my phone number incorrectly and gave that to the movers. Also I did note that the place we were moving to had stairs and they did not inform the 2 guys who were doing the heavy lifting. I felt bad for them. Both of these things weren't their fault. 5/5 for the actual movers 3/5 for the office not relaying information correctly. read more

Allen, Ahmad, and Ibrahim came to help us today, totally last minute after our original movers (Martin Movers) flaked on us. Their response time was so quick. Allen answered in the first ring. He was patient, understanding, and very easy to communicate with. Their prices were very reasonable compared to the first three movers I called. They arrived when they said they would. They moved quickly and they were very careful with our things. They didn't take their time nor did they give us any hidden fees! I felt at ease with them in my home and they were so helpful. They offered several times to do more work as well. These folks were honest and very hard workers. I would hire them again in a heartbeat beat! They disassembled our furniture and offered to reassemble as well. Thanks so much you guys!!! read more

This move was probably the worst I have experienced. I am in the military and move often and even having experiences a full service DMO move which isn't always the best quality- This was without a doubt much worse. Moving from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom, all the details were relayed including the details- level of living, stairs, elevators, heavy items etc. There must be some major disconnect with the job booker and actual workers sent. The weather predicted rain all week and there was no mention of extra costs or slower work speeds or diminished quality. As stated by the booking rep: " We don't charge double driving time for local move under miles. We provide all moving equipments (shrink wrap, tapes, moving blankets and wardrobe boxes). We also help you with disassembling and reassembling furnitures." This was stated with no mention of extra costs or added time penalty if the workers move at a slower pace. By extra items they brought the standard plastic wrap with 1 literally 1 wardrobe box. While the 2 workers sent were working I was also moving and loading items myself into my own truck- moving at a much quicker pace on my own and in the previous several days already took 3 truckloads to the new place. From 0830 to 1700 I had already loaded my truck to the max and was waiting on them to load up a portion not even the entire apartment and 14 packed boxes from the garage. I was even asked if they could take a break to change clothes. This was aside from all the breaks already taken which they assumed I was not aware of- it does not take 5-10 mins to drop off a load and come back for more. Another note- I have never been complained to about the size of the packed boxes or the assorted random items. There was little to no care of the items; the worker made it so obvious to show any little marks or cracks in the items but while loading and unloading took no care; I could see and hear banging up and down the stairs- the boxes were soaked and ripping. I myself covered what I was moving with moving blankets and tarps I had they took zero precaution and had no care of how soggy the boxes were getting- to the state of even ripping but they stacked boxes in top of those destroyed boxes anyways. If items aren't shattered/ damaged they are definitely soaked with potential to mold. When they finally competed the job 6hrs later - mind you previously even moving from a 2 bedroom duplex only took 4hrs and never had I had "professional" movers who did not know not to protect the items being moved or not to stack soaked damaged boxes or heavy boxes/ items on top of smaller lighter items. At the end the worker stated he would only stop the time if I would post a good yelp review right then any there. He kept adding in I should tip the workers - which was referencing him and 1 other guy and then in front of my face said this cheap ass is only tipping us $6. Not only had they not even move all the items from my old place so I would have to hire another moving company or rent another truck I moved items myself and now would not have a buffer day to clean the apartment to save my deposit. The icing on the cake- the guy left his cheek IKEA drill and some random sorted basic tools behind. I finally was able to go to my birthday dinner I was already late for - had to change my plans. The worker calls me 6x in a row. He finally texts me that he left his tools and then calls again. He asks me to drop what I am doing to go back so he can get his tools... Not only was I already late and had people waiting on me- plans had to be adjusted I still had to go back to the old apartment after my birthday dinner to finish the job they did not. I was not going to pay $1000 for a 1 bedroom move - did not even include the bathroom or kitchen AND I had already moved and cleared out the closets. The next day 7am I was woken up by someone attempting to open my front door. I looked at my phone there were 10 missed called and a text saying he was there to pick up his tools and that he had tried to go into the apartment but it was locked and there was no answer. WHY WOULD YOU TRY TK GO INTO SOMEONES HOME?!! It doesn't matter if it is an apartment that is being moved out of that is a huge violation of privacy. Overall extremely unprofessional and careless move. moving is your job if you hate it and don't want to handle people's belongings with care perhaps it is time for a new profession. Asking for a tip is rude. Tips are not a requirement and all determined by the quality of work and completely what the customer feels is to be awarded based on services received. KEEP LOOKING if you like any of the items you own and don't want to pay double what you should. read more

Just completed a short move in from Point Loma to Sunset Cliffs in San Diego and couldn't have done it without the help of John and Esbay. They arrived on time and got right to work. I was particularly impressed with the care with which they took in protecting all of my furniture. John meticulously wrapped everything in furniture pads and shrink wrap before it was ever moved. They were both fast and efficient and kept it moving until the job was complete. One particular challenge they overcame with commendable adeptness was the extra large sofa that we had to hoist up over our third story balcony to install and which was going to have to go down the same way. Not only were they the least expensive movers I'd contacted but they were the best I could have asked for. read more

Ilon and Dan were amazing!! They packed up my house in just a few hours and were very friendly and polite. They worked so hard and worked very quickly and efficiently. I only got a 5x5 storage unit and I didn't think there was anyway all my stuff would fit in it. They packed it up to the top so precisely that everything fit. It amazed me. Great service. My family bought a new fridge for the kitchen to replace their old one, once we got the new fridge we realize it can't go through our kitchen walkway. This brought another issue to our attention, our old fridge which is almost the same size as the new fridge, will not fit through our kitchen walkway either. Without going into much detail on how did we not see the measurements or how did we fit the old refrigerator in the kitchen the first time, we had to think of a way to switch the refrigerators. We realize the only easy way in switching the refrigerators was lifting it up 3 ft from the ground and pushing it through the kitchen bar that is around 40 inches wide. We wanted professional help in doing the heavy lifting so we looked online for someone that can do it for us. I saw the reviews for Move Square on Yelp and decided to give them a call. They listened to my request, they gave me a price that I found resonable and booked me an appointment for the next day early morning. That's where Anthony and Lucas come in and do an amazing job. They were very respectful of what was around them, always letting me know if it was okay if they moved any furniture in the way or if they can remove a door to make the transition easier, etc. These two strong men were able to lift our old refrigerator and push it through the narrow bar with so much limited space and switching it with the new refrigerator without damaging anything. After that, they asked if they can do anything else, but we didn't have any more requests they have already done us a huge favor. My family was very pleased with their work, and we are glad that we went with Moving Space. read more

I have a really good experience with Anthony and Usuf! They are super helpful and experienced. This is the first time I have movers to help, and I'm really glad I found a good one. I'm most impressed with their efficiency. They don't waste any single minute you paid!! Things are done so fast and so nice. My boyfriend and I recently completed a long-distance move from San Diego to the San Francisco area two weeks ago, and in planning this move, I contacted about 10-15 movers in San Diego to inquire about rates -- this company was the most affordable/efficient of them all. Aryslan responded to my message via Yelp with details on costs for a 1 bedroom move with a 2 person crew and truck. Flat rate includes loading, driving and unloading labor hours. There's no double driving time or gas fee for the fixed rate. Allen, one of our movers, did a great job with scheduling the move a week in advance and sent phone and e-mail confirmations about the move the day prior. He and our other mover did a great job in loading an unloading our items (both apartments were located on the 2nd floor). Long distance moves can get very stressful but I would say that working with Move Square was the least stressful part of this whole process. read more

TLDR: Don't use, but if you do CHECK YOUR INSURANCE. To prelude, we have used Move Square twice before and been really happy with their service. This time there were clearly new and untrained staff. Not only did they not know how to pack or move furniture properly, they were incredibly slow doing it. A one bedroom apartment took seven hours to move. The worst thing of all was damage done to our furniture. Three different pieces were damaged, one severely. IMPORTANT NOTE: If your property is damaged, you will be offered 60c per pound of weight. To add insult to injury, the movers will spend a whole bunch of time dealing with the breakage, all of which you are paying for. In summary: Move Square have gone downhill badly. Total cost: Over a thousand dollars for the bill and over that for the damage done. Look elsewhere. read more

I have used Move Square for my moving needs five times since 2017. Allen is very responsive and the rest of his team has always been professional and punctual. They have taken good care of my belongings. This time I worked with Islam and Kamil who did an excellent job of carefully packing my U-box to be shipped across the country. I had reserved two U-boxes but they skillfully got all of my items into one saving me thousands of dollars! I would highly recommend them for your moving needs! I used the moving service several weeks ago to move a 2 bedroom apartment. The moving generally went well with 3 movers and finished in 4.5 hours. Aryslan is really responsive and kind, and he deserves a 5 stars. However, one thing is that the movers put screws of the bed frame separately and forgot them at the end. The movers didn't reply to any of my messages, and I had to sleep on mattress. Finally I contacted Aryslan, and he sent them to me as soon as he could (I appreciate that). read more

Moves can always be stressful but move Square made it so much easier. They quoted me a price with no extra fees. Called the day before to verify all information then called 30 minutes before arrival the following day. Dan and Nurga well excellent with the move! They carefully wrapped my belongings and moved quickly during the load and unload. They wore mask and maintained distance the entire move. I would definitely use them again. read more

These guys were GREAT! Admittedly, I didn't have very much stuff to move or far to go, but they still did a great job. They called on their way, showed up with a MASSIVE truck, wrapped all my stuff so it would travel safely, plugged in my super heavy mechanical bed in a hard to reach area after I said I'd do it, and even helped me move the rug under my couch like 4 times while I decided where I wanted it. They were quick, friendly, and I would highly recommend them! read more

Do not use this company! I have a 1 bedroom apartment , fairly small, so tell my why it took 4 hours to load the truck and about 2 to unload? Most companies estimated 3 hours for my move, yet these guys surely took their time to do everything. Took lunch break after 2 hours of doing nothing for 30 mins and let me Know he was giving me a discount and not charging me for the lunch break. If you don't quit it. You guys are not slick and I do not appreciate stealing! Not only did my move cost me nearly $750 including the $15 per box special. (Special cause the small wardrobe boxes are normally $20 and if I leave a good review they're $15) so I would be very wary of this company. You will regret it. And they are so obvious , I stepped out for a minute and when I returned, sure enough the guy was walking circles in my bedroom. read more

I wouldn't use Move Square again. Overall, they were okay, in that my move was completed, but it was VERY slow. I hired three movers and for about 90 minutes, I only saw one mover unloading the truck item by item (i.e. he would walk an item in to my new home rather than load a dolly). The move should have taken 2-3 hours and took 4.25. While I trusted them around my stuff (i.e. I felt comfortable with them), several of my items (my bed frame) were scratched because of how they were carrying my items and they frequently refused my help or guidance. We had a great experience with Move Square. Asadbek, Douglas and Arnold were very helpful, efficient, and fast at getting all of our stuff carefully wrapped and moved over. Our concern was that since they were paid by the hour they might drag out the time, but they were very focused on getting everything done quickly. Originally they had quoted 3 hours for moving our stuff but they were able to get it done in 2 and a half hours. They were very nice young men and as a woman made me feel comfortable to have them in my home and helping me. Would definitely recommend Asadbek, Douglas and Arnold to others. read more

Mike and his team did a very good job moving everything in a prompt and efficient manner. Everything was moved within 3 hours and they even managed to move the piano with ease. Everything was wrapped and secured with a blanket and tape, and nothing was seriously damaged. My only issue would've been the tape they used as the tape left some residue on my sofa, but it could've been a lot worse so I won't fret. Overall, very affordable movers and kind people! read more

Best movers ever!!! And I have moved a lot. First they called me ahead to discus details (that saved me time) Carlos who was super experienced gave me an estimate of the time and he was spot on 100%. They didn't it start the clock until we agreed on the strategy and had discussed priorities. Carlos and Cristian were not there to waste My time or my money. They run (literally) the stairs for about 4 hours straight. Other companies i worked before took 15 minutes breaks every hour they worked, or they would take extra time to move little things and the list Goes on and on. Carlos and Christian worked straight up, always with a smile and asked where things needed to go even if it meant one more floor. Very respectful of my furniture and COVID-19. Not a single scratch on the walls. Amazing!!! I hired them because they had 5 stars and they ended up being the most flexible company, East to schedule, the cheapest and the cleanest I have ever worked with. Our desk was damaged in the move and the company didn't seem to care to take accountability for it. We messaged them and saw they had read the messages on Yelp but didn't respond. Finally, I emailed and they responded by saying they would offer $0.60 per lb of the desk. The desk was just 52 lbs, and it cost $235. It wasn't an expensive piece of furniture but it's the principal of it. I wouldn't even expect the full cost of the desk returned, but just $30 for a desk that now looks pretty banged up? It's unfortunate. Plus the desk had zero damage before they handled it. read more

Anil, Salim, and Rocky helped us move today. What a great group of guys! They were early to start the move and were very professional and friendly. They were very conscientious about making sure all furniture and items were wrapped in blankets and visquene so that nothing was damaged. Elmurod never replied, but they proceeded with the move. During the six hours they were there, Elmurod was constantly on his phone. They eventually called a third person to help them move. However, upon arriving at our new house, Elmurod said he couldn't move our couch upstairs, it had the same layout as our previous home. We asked Elmurod and the extra mover to try and move the couch, and the other guys said they would. Not only did Elmurod demanded us to pay each man a $50 tip, but he also wanted to be paid upfront, even though they hadn't completed the job. We asked Elmurod to please work on the couch as the final item to be moved. To our surprise, while we waited for them, they simply left and let our couch in the garage and other furniture with our door open. As well as a bunch of packing trash behind. When I contacted their manager I been getting the run around, I shared photos of damaged furniture and shared the additional $190 I had to pay to get our couch moved upstairs. Still no reply and no resolution. I will be filling a claim. Furthermore, our dining table and chair got damaged during the move, even though you pay additional for their insurance they won't honor it. They contacted me and refused to provide a refund for additional movers to complete the move of the left over furniture and also stated they wouldn't provide any money back due to me leaving a negative review.

**UPDATE 7/13/16: I received a call shortly after submitting this review from Allen, whom I had interacted with throughout this entire process. He offered to rectify the situation by rearranging my storage unit for me, but I had already done that on my own. Instead he offered me a refund of $100 and said he would not charge my card for the $175 that would have been charged from the original transaction. Essentially he was offering a $275 refund. I agreed to this to make up for the damages. I reviewed a cash refund in the mail a few days later. It was good that this review was not ignored, and customer service was given priority, so I gave them an additional star.** First off, this company tried to bribe me for a Yelp review, which I am pretty sure is against Yelp policy. They offered a discount if I gave them a 5 star review. Sorry guys, I'm not a liar and I value Yelp reviews to be honest. Secondly, if you are dealing with anyone who has a heavy accent please be sure that you completely understand what is said and have it put into writing before making an agreement. I was not made aware that the cost was $115/HR. I was under the impression that it was $115 for 3 hours and then an additional charge each hour after that, but this was not the case. It is $115/hr if you pay cash and $120/hour if you pay by check. They said they do not take cards because they are going through a system transition, yet after I told them I wasn't prepared for the almost $600 bill they then took my card info. Background: my rental home was sold by the owner and (although illegal) I was given 1 day to vacate the property. I was essentially homeless. This was explained to the moving company. The 3 men that came to move my household belongings were courteous, and moved quickly. They even boxed some items that we had not been able to do ourselves. When they were at the end of moving everything onto the truck they asked me to do a walk through and see if they missed anything. I did, and they had. I told them about the items and they went back in to get them. They then took the truck to my storage facility and put everything in the unit for me. That being said, I received a call from the realtor stating furniture items had been left behind and they had been donated as a result. I took a visit to my storage unit today to locate some paperwork. I found that my tv had been broken (the stand where the screen sits was snapped in half), and I realized that the movers fully wrapped only one of our mattresses (another mattress only had a single wrap on one side *see photos*). I am fearful of the bed bug outbreak in San Diego, and now have to consider ways to fight possible exposure. I have not gone through my entire unit, but now I will. I was already in a bad situation and to have been lied to, bribed, and then to have my belongs (which I don't have many of) broken without someone telling me is ridiculous. Shame on you move square. You will never get my business again and I will be sure to never recommend your company. read more

I requested 2 movers and a moving truck for the minimum requirement of 3 hours. Our move consisted of all our big furniture; multiple cabinets, shelves, couches, end tables, TV, etc. Didn't need any packing services as we had already packaged and moved all the small things ourselves. Allen and Eldar arrived about within the hour window agreed upon. They did a great job of wrapping all the furniture with cabinets and wrapped up our large TV with blankets. They definitely handled all our gear with care. They had all our furniture loaded in their truck in about an hour. The unloading of our furniture at the new apartment only took about an hour as well. This is great considering they had to transport all the furniture up 2 floors via elevator and down some long hallways. They placed all the furniture where I instructed them to with great care. Move Square is a great business to work with. They charged exactly what they quoted. There were no hidden fees. Several business quoted around the same but I found that Move Square had the best hourly rate and gas fee combined. I reached out to them on a Saturday evening and they were ready to assist the following Monday morning. Next time I will do less moving on my own and trust these experts. However, I would still prefer to pack things into bins and boxes on my own so I know where everything is. I highly recommend Move Square for your future moves! Company owner is a Pedophile. I can deal with bad service or damage to my things. However, when a grown man 30+ who is the owner of the company tries to pass his phone number to my 13 year old daughter, that is unacceptable. I invited this man into my home to move my daughter and I into a new house and he tries to sneak his personal phone number to her when I wasn't looking... There are things I wanted to do To him that I just can't say on here. What I can do is let everyone know that this is the kind of thing you will need to be aware of if you hire this company. His real full name is Aryslanbek Vakilov.... If my daughter wasn't so creeped out after he gave her his number and told me immediately, who knows what might have happened. He did this at the end of the day as if he had planned it the whole day. My guess is he does this often. If he did it when he first got there and I found out at the beginning of the day, I would have fired him on the spot. But he knew that and waited til the end so he could still charge us for the day. DO NOT USE MOVE SQUARE IF YOU HAVE YOUNG KIDS. He better hope I never see him again. Allan just responded to my review in a "Private" message. He is acting like he doesn't even know me and says he is going to report me and take me to court. Well Mr Vakilov, if you don't like bad reviews then be an honest and respectful person. Today, I received notice that my original review was reported by the Yelp community and removed because "it did not provide enough detail about [my] customer experience." The fact that I am taking the time again to review this business is a testament to the service I received from Move Square. Our move took place during a very busy period in my daughter's and my life. Although we had family and friends that were willing to help, we didn't want to ask for assistance during Father's Day weekend and thought it would be easier to move during the week. With the help of Move Square, our move was easy and quick. In less than five hours, Allen, Koke, and Alex wrapped our furniture to protect it during transportation, loaded all our boxes and items and then, unloaded and reassembled them at the proper destinations. Because we had items that we wanted to give away and donate, we had three destinations. After quickly unloading items at Goodwill, they dropped off and assembled a trundle bed at my mom's home before delivering the rest of the items to our new home. Three destinations at no extra charge! Plus, they went out of their way to make sure my daughter and I did not move/carry any boxes and made sure all our boxes and furniture were in the rooms we wanted before leaving. I'm just going to stop you now and tell you to pick up your phone and call these guys up! The Move Square team came through for us and went above and beyond my expectations. My family was moving and we had a lot of stuff. A LOT OF STUFF. But these guys handled the job like pros and figured out how to make everything fit. They also have incredible attention to detail wrapping valuable or loose items, walking through your home once everything is all packed up, and communicating with the homeowner everything that needs to get done. Similarly, these guys are incredibly kind and some of the best group of guys I've ever met. They're all very responsive anytime during the move I had a concern or there was something I needed to say. There were even a few times in the unloading process where some furniture was misdirected to the wrong room but this team was kind enough to switch furniture as we saw fit. I've used Move Square twice for local moves around San Diego and have had a great experience with both. The most recent was a move from Downtown SD to North Park, and the previous was from Mission Valley to downtown. Since I had everything packed, organized, and ready to go for them to move each move only took 3 hours which was incredible. Had Anthony and Lucas for my most recent move and they were super amazing and helpful. They were incredibly respectful of the stuff that needed to get moved and also the COVID situation. Would absolutely recommend Move Square for any moving needs as they are quick, efficient, friendly, and professional. They are incredibly and reasonably priced and never make you feel like they're trying to take advantage of the time - if anything, it was quite the opposite. They were respectful of time and potential budget so if that's a concern, Move Square will have you covered :) Not sure if they do super long distance moves (NorCal to SoCal) but would be lovely for my parents' upcoming move! read more

We finally got a new home and the problem was... moving... I looked at everything and became quickly overwhelmed. I knew we couldn't manage it ourselves, because my boyfriend hurt his back (of course) right before we needed to move. That's where Move Square came in! I want to give big thanks to my friend who referred me to this company because I'm really impressed. Move Square did their job just the way I wanted and they did it fast. I had a great experience with Move Square for my recent move. I requested a 10:00 AM arrival time and the crew showed up right on time as scheduled, which I really appreciated. I had initially booked 2 movers, but after they arrived and we did a quick estimation of the work for the day, I decided to add a third mover to help speed things up. The team was very accommodating and able to add the extra mover without any issues, which made the whole process much more efficient. I absolutely love the service I got from Move Square. The movers arrived perfectly on time and they helped me load the boxes into the truck and corrected my placement! I almost ended up putting dishes under books which would have ended terribly. The group was headed by their team leader who kept his men in line and working hard. They had a great balance of hard-working but careful which is exactly what I was looking for in a group of movers.The driver told me about the routeand how they switched to get there on time. They planned for just under 2 weeks and nailed it! The truck got there in only 13 days. The unloading team was just as coordinated and helpful. But I got to say my favorite was the first crew. It took us two full days to move a house and a studio. They packed and moved it all. It was so professionally done we called them back for the second day to move the studio. They were on time, polite, and so careful not to mess the walls or floors of both homes. I am so impressed with these guys. We had two different crews with the same lead. Alan, Alex. I couldn't ask for a better company. The price was fair and as advertised. It cost a bit more because they packed and provided the boxes. Buy your own boxes and you'll save a bundle- or just pack it all yourself to save on the time charges. Either way, these guys did everything we asked and smiled throughout the job... This is our second time using Prodigy moving service in the last 2 years. Both moves were quick, smooth and stress free. We moved on 10/5/16. Julio and the crew 3 were AMAZING! Punctual, professional, experienced, polite. They work great as a team and their smiles release all the stress involved in moving. They disassembled and then reassembled the furniture and took special care to protect the floors and the walls in our new house. Abby at the office was simply a pleasure to work with. I called her for a quote and more than a week later, when I called back to schedule the actual move, she remembered who I was and what I needed. Such a great customer care! Spoke with Allen and received a quote via phone 3 days prior to my move. Price was affordable and I was able to use their Yelp deal ($30 for $60 deal). I received a confirmation email with details of the move. They arrived on time and were able to move my 2 bedroom condo plus garage into a storage unit in 3.5 hours. They were super fast, friendly, efficient, and carefully wrapped my TV, furniture, mirror, with protective moving gear. I was so impressed that they were able to move my heavy, 8 piece dresser so easily. The best part about my move was they organized everything in my storage unit so that it fit properly. Such a burden lifted off my shoulders :-) I will definitely call them again once I'm ready to move my belongings into a new place. read more

Look no further if you need to hire movers. These guys are the best! I needed to move out this past weekend and Move Square responded right away. They were fully booked on Saturday so they booked us on Sunday at 5 pm. Alan verified everything on our first call - the time, the addresses, my contact info, the price. He called again that evening to let me know he had a cancellation so my appointment got bumped up to 9 am! They were very professional --- called me prior to call time, showed up early, they wrapped my furniture in plastic, didn't damage any walls, and they were done ahead of schedule! I ACTUALLY WITNESSED the owner of the company drop and shatter one of my most valuable posessions. When I confronted him he said it was already broken. WHAT? He looked me in the eyes and even said it again. Dont you have insurance? Not on me he says. I finally got him to give me his insurance info. That day I called and his Insurance said it's his word against mine and so basically his insurance will believe him over me because if they believe me then they have to pay. Don't you realize that THIS IS WHAT INSURANCE IS FOR.lying always bites people in the butt. Now I have to take him to court and that means insurance won't be there to coddle him and hold his hand. It was the worst customer service I've ever had. At 11 a.m., I asked to be removed and was granted permission to go. The day before the removal, I was advised that it would happen between 11 am and 2 pm. I had planned for a two-man removal crew, but only one showed up at two, and the second crew member didn't arrive until three. Prior to the arrival of the moving company, my partner and I had already moved forty boxes to the sidewalk. The day was incredibly stressful, and it could have been prevented. After communicating with them, I was offered £40.00 in compensation, but only if I changed my page to indicate that they will pay me. Move Square was efficient and on top of what I needed to complete my move on time. I received a job in LA and had to move quickly. They made sure everything was taken care of for me and set up. The guys showed up a little late but made up for it with how fast they moved my things. Everything arrived on time and nothing was broken (Probably because I let them pack everything professionally.) I had some boxes but they came prepared with packing materials, an extra charge well worth my time saved!! If you have a long distance move and are concerned with your belongings showing up on time and in great condition, I highly reccomend using this company. Even though I shortly notified these movers, they did better than every other mover I had worked with in the past. Starting from the packing of my stuff to the unpacking and the actual move, these movers demonstrated expertise. The move I thought would take a long time took barely four hours. I was amazed and pleasantly surprised at their speed and excellent job. I give these movers two thumbs up for the jobs they did. Being a regular mover, I know what is involved in a moving service. I stood in awe as these workers did their job with exceptional professionalism and made the move very successful. I have contacted them for a move. The communication was clear and the rates were reasonable. They gave me recommendation on how many people I need. But they were OK to go with the number I select. But I took their recommendation. 3 guys showed up on time. Very friendly. They introduced themselves when arrived. Very pleasant and gave good confidence that they will take care of things with care. Did the job right and took only the hours we have estimated. They were very careful in handling things, disassembled them and packed them properly. I was happy about it. Overall good experience.
