Absolutely Loved Moxie. I showed up a few minutes before opening (owners were loading their fresh vegetables and meats into the kitchen), but the staff still welcomed me in and gave me coffee while they opened up. I ordered the Avocado Toast. The owner mentioned he loved adding bacon and an extra egg. Who says no to bacon? It was absolutely delicious! I also loved the vibe of the place. They had great wifi, and cute little tables that allow you to watch the foot traffic around Broadway. I will certainly be back! read more

This a true hidden little gem and for sure my guilty pleasure when I'm on Broadway. Their Chicken Salad Sandwich on Gluten Free bread is sublime. The owner always takes such special care of me! The lamb sandwich was really good; it reminded me of street side food stands serving flatbread lamb sandwiches in the middle-east, except this was served on a perfectly chewy ciabatta with arugula and tangy tzatziki all perfectly proportioned. Also had the chicken curry sandwich, this could have been better (too much mayo not enough curry) but still really tasty. I probably ordered the wrong dish here. Went there to have lunch with my husband. The place is fantastic EXCEPT the food. My husband got the Acorn Squash Sandwich and it's decent according to him. I got the Chicken Top Ramen. Ohh boy! I have Asian blood in me and love Salty foods, but this dish they served me is not edible in my opinion. It's very salty for a salty tooth like me and they served it with instant noodles. Which is not very healthy. I live down the street from this place and I love the food. Everything I've had from here is delicious and has brought me back for more. They have tons of gluten free options and the breakfast sandwiches are a good and filling breakfast option. Here is why I gave them two stars instead of 5: I have witnessed the chef (maybe the owner, considering other reviews), be incredibly rude to staff and customers on multiple occasions. The first time I went here, I noticed him snap at the other staff in the room and made a mental note. I noticed the same energy from him other times I've been in there. A couple of weeks ago, I was in there by myself and the chef cursed at the guy running the register. I considered writing a review then, but forgot until this morning. My boyfriend went inside while I waited with the dog, and without knowing of my previous experience, immediately texted me that the chef had cursed at a customer. I am the type of customer that walks into a store with my headphones on and does not need over the top service in order to be happy. As long as I get my food and the place isn't filthy, I'm pleased. In fact, this is the first yelp review I've ever written. This is not a complaint about the service, the quality of the food, or the attitude of the staff because these things have been consistently excellent. This is a complaint about the chef who I did not catch just having a bad day. Myself and others have witnessed him, and ONLY him, act inappropriately. The food is good and it's a great food option in the neighborhood. But treating staff with respect isn't just important to the atmosphere of the restaurant, it's the right thing to do. And in case this review is used to further verbally abuse staff, let me make myself abundantly clear - the chef and ONLY the chef is the problem here. read more

We came upon this little gem when we were looking for a healthy breakfast place to eat at. The breakfast portions here are on the smaller side (think a slightly bigger McDonald's sausage mcmuffin) but it was a perfect for me since I don't like eating a huge breakfast. The ingredients were simple, fresh, and blended very well together. Easily one of my favorite breakfast places while visiting Denver. Service was quick and friendly. This place is YUMMY. I ordered delivery (so I can't say anything about the service), but the food is great and the delivery was speedy. I'll start off with the chicken noodle soup: the noodles were homemade and the chicken was plentiful. Next, I had the yellow potato hash. Usually I like my potatoes crispy, but the potatoes were flavorful enough that I thoroughly enjoyed them. Lastly, I ate the brussel sprout salad! Delicious and filling!! I've tried to come to Moxie Eatery one time before and I didn't end up walking in because I honestly couldn't tell if the place was closed or not (as in closed for good). I was in the area before class again today and decided to give it another shot. There's something eerie about this place, both the outside and inside. It's really dark, despite having a white interior. It reminds me of when you walk outside past windows of an office area under construction, when it's nothing but plaster walls and construction equipment inside right then. Anyway, I again couldn't tell if Moxie was closed or not so I adventured inside anyway. My second impression wasn't so hot: the restaurant was completely empty and there was no one behind the counter. The inside really kind of looks like the owners started decorating it and never finished. There's a nice tacky 7-11 type soda machine that you need to use for ice for their iced coffee. Someone did finally come around and took my order unenthusiastically. Another man, possibly the owner then also came around and I couldn't help but feel like neither of these employees wanted to be there at all. Very sluggishly moping around, I could hear a cook in the back drone out a meager "...order..." a few times, and then I watched as the owner-person coughed a lot as he was preparing/doing something behind the counter. It was pretty gross and contributed to the place's air of not caring about itself and seeming only half finished. I almost forgot the food! I got a chicken sausage breakfast sandwich, which was definitely a Kroger English muffin with flavorless chicken and a piece of unmelted cheese that was not centered on top, so I had to grab it and fold it back under the top muffin. I was the only one there so I don't know why the food appeared to have been made so rushed and sloppy. To summarize: Moxie is a disappointment that feels uncomfortable to be inside. The employees are not fun and act like they just got done having a heavy argument right when you walked in. The restaurant is not clean - next to my window table, I could see black dirt marks from the bottom of (I assume) the owner's shoes when they stood up on the ledge to open the window blinds earlier that morning. Wanted to like this place. I ordered the Chicken Ramen, and the noodles were not fully cooked, and it was still hard. For $10+ tips I could have gotten some good pho. Honestly, I felt like I paid for Ramen noodles that came in the 89 cent packages and someone just added some veggies and a little bit of chicken and mixed in the flavoring package. Stopped by here to refuel while exploring Denver with a buddy of mine (D.C. native over here). I was eyeing the Acorn Squash sandwich but, unfortunately, it was after a night of moderate drinking so I decided to keep it simple with the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I was definitely not disappointed. It was absolutely delicious, the bread was fresh, the cheese was rich and flavorful, the soup was perfectly creamy and I had just the right soup-to-sandwich ratio for dipping. My friend had the Turkey 'N' Brie and he only had good things to say about it. Lucky for me, our mutual friend asked for takeout so we got her the acorn squash sandwich to-go, which I finally got to taste and all I have to say is DEAR LORD it was mouth watering. We came on a weekend morning for brunch. The place was completely empty. This wasn't a good sign, but based on the other Yelp reviews, it sounded good so we gave it a try anyway. I ordered the vegan butternut squash enchiladas, which was the special of the day. It was a pretty large portion and filling. I was only able to eat half. I thought it would be a fairly healthy entree, however the mole sauce was very rich and kind of upset my stomach for the rest of the day. The truffle mushroom soup was good but I wish they would offer a piece of bread to go with it. My bf ordered the avocado toast. It was good but nothing special. I love Moxie. It's great awesome hand made food awesome coffee awesome dude that owns the place awesome atmosphere. But the real reason I come here is for one thing: the chicken sausage breakfast sandwich. It's so damn good. The sausage is always perfect and fresh and I think it's made in house. Except for the last two times my sausage has been crunchy like it was made the day before and had been sitting in a hot plate too long. I love this place because of its attention to detail. The service is always on point and friendly. Please keep that sausage fresh and I'll keep eating it. Hahaha. I also just asked them to turn down the club music from the club music level, and they happily did so, and someone's maybe having less of a dance party at work than they were, so I'm giving you guys five stars. I've been stopping into Moxie since it opened several years ago. It is always an absolute treat, and after trying most of the menu, Moxie remains undefeated. Their breakfast sandwiches are served on the loveliest english muffins, and their main menu is lovingly crafted with fresh ingredients. I have several favorites depending on my mood, but the warm kale and oyster mushroom salad and the shaved brussels sprouts and farro salad are always at the top. When you pass by it it seems kind of empty, but it's just cause people can be in and out so quick. I stayed for about 30 minutes and was probably the only one here for that long. I've been meaning to write a review on Moxie for some time now. It is just the perfect modern lunch eatery. We go almost every week. The servings are huge, ingredients fresh, and lots of vegan options. Never ever too greasy or bland. Everything is good, but you will eventually find your favorite options. The vegan torta is TO DIE FOR! Its a must try. Brie and Turkey if you want something more rich. Every single salad is amazing. Feels very clean covid wise. Owner is so nice. Wow! I had this place bookmarked and was really excited to finally give it a try. I am trying to eat less/no meat and thought this wild be a perfect spot to find something to fit the bill. I was excited to see some creative and unusual dishes, such as the quinoa lentil cauliflower salad. It had raw almonds and this amazing curry yogurt. It was unlike anything I had ever had and left me completely satiated. It is garnished with green onions, raw almonds and cilantro, so be sure to let them know if those things are on your "do not eat" list. The salad was vegetarian and GF. My daughter ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup. It, too, was delicious. They do rice noises that appear to be house made. It was a generous portion for the soup and the salad. A regular person might have been able to get two meals out of the salad, but I'm a bit of an oinker and finished most of it. This is an order at the counter and pick your seat kind of place. Very minimalist and not somewhere I would probably pick for a date night or special occasion. That said, for day to day this is an excellent option on Broadway. read more
