Last night I had an opportunity to attend an after work business happy hour at Moxie's with my colleagues. We had a table of eight and they set us outside. I really enjoyed the ambience and it was nice with the fire tables glowing. I was thoroughly impressed by the amount of items on the happy hour menu to choose from; not just 2-4 options. Also, the drinks were delicious hand crafted and served with fresh garnishes and not water down like some other establishments. They also had specialty drinks for the holiday season. We ordered about six appetizers (guacamole, Asian chicken lettuce-wraps, steak bites, pot stickers, brussels sprouts) for the table and everything was delicious and pentiful. Our group was satisfied with the service as well, and the nice weather made it most enjoyable. Shout out to our waitress (Katelyn?) that kept us happy and taking care of. Moxies is a really good place for drinks! The ambience is beautiful and if you sit on the patio you can enjoy a nice view and hopefully a little breeze. I've never had an issue with the service here. Service is always courteous and not overbearing. The food can be hit or miss however if you stick with the basics there's nothing to complain about. Solid fries, tacos, and other items to munch on. I recommend Moxies as a great place to pre-game before you head out. The drinks and the atmosphere never disappoint. This is a great place for your next girls night out. read more

Came here on a Saturday at 2pm Parking was close and easy. However after maybe like 5pm they close off alot of parking spots for private parking. As I walked inside I was amazed at the lovely ambience. Very classy establishment. They have upstanding down stair sitting and I think I even saw a semi private back room. They do have televisions upstairs which during this visit had some sport games playing. Several well dressed guys sat around the bar watching the game. My friend and I were seated at a table. It was cold inside so I stared off with some chi Tai tea for $4. I saw that the meals portions were large so I skipped getting an appetizer. I got the blacken shrimp taco and swapped out the chips and dip for French fries. My friend got the breakfast burger and swap her fries for fruits. My meal had 3 delicious tacos which I was only able to eat 2 and half the fries. The fries was thick and delicious. No room for dessert. When we got our check they did automatically put a 20% tip on it themselves. I hate when they do did bc I like having the liberty to tip based on service and I'm not use to this with a party of two. However our waiter was kind so it's ok. I did have to ask why and she stated it's mandatory. This is a place you come to for the atmosphere, not the food and not the service. That's not to say that it is a bad place, every restaurant has its perks and this one's is the view/feel of it more than anything else. You've got the galleria mall across the street, and in the same strip mall you had home goods, nordstrom rack, and around back, Caracol. If you've got a little bit more to spend I'd recommend trying them out instead - the food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is comparable if not better. Valet parking is available but honestly there's no reason to unless you're averse to walking a block or two from one side of the parking lot to another. Atmosphere is where this joint really shines. It's a two story establishment with both and upstairs and downstairs outdoor patio. When I went the outdoor patio was closed off but I'm sure when it's open it's amazing. The walls are all glass looking out onto the patio so you get a view even if you're not sitting outside. Service is okay; not really any complaints but no great compliments either. Poutine Interesting presentation by stacking it high. The fries didn't really get all that soggy as you moved down the pile so that was a great feat for them. I like that the poutine sauce is on the side so if you have someone who doesn't care for it they can just have cheese fries basically. But the price on this for just fries is obviously very high -you're paying for all the fancy decor. Steak bites Very strange take. I'm not sure what they've done to these. The presentation makes it look like they've just used ground beef and made them into balls and called them steak. However, when you cut into them they do seem to be actual pieces of steak. I wonder if they've lightly breaded the outside then pan fried them? Either way they are too rich and overseasoned. I've been to this spot many times but apparently, the dress code changes on Thursday evening. I drove I. From Rosharon to meet friends for a birthday dinner and when I pulled up, a security guy with a pony tail was being recorded by a gentleman on his phone. Apparently an altercation had just ended. When I walked up, he and another gentleman met me at the door and told me I couldn't come in with my Nike shorts on and suggested that I go next door to Old Navy and buy some shorts. I didn't appreciate being loud talked and the physical posture as if I was there to cause a scene. I must have looked confused. He explained that it starts Thursday at 7 pm. And he mentioned that it's in the website - why would I check the website when I've been here several times! I simply called my party outside to let them know I'd meet them at the next spot. Daytime is harder as all stores are open but at night it's easy breezy, may have to walk a little bit you should because you're going to eat a lot! Service: great! Timely professional nice and fast! We went for brunch and it was nice to see the outside. I can only imagine how perfect this place would be for date night. Their drinks were good and their food was phenomenal. We had their salmon and avocado bagel. They truly filled it up! If you're on a date I'd recommend to eat it with a fork or knife or order something else because it was deliciously messy! I used my hands and had to pick up the food that fell out, I didn't want to miss out on any! Next time I'll ask for light cream cheese but other than that I wouldn't change a thing! It was my first time here & we were celebrating a family's birthday (group of 9 including 2 small kids). Valet is available but there is a large parking lot with lots of shopping stores around. The entrance had beautiful holiday decor. They don't accommodate large parties with reservations and we were informed it is on walk in basis. We were able to be seated outside which wasn't too chilly with the heaters. They sat us at a high top table, couldn't find a booster seat and offered a high chair but it wasn't helpful for that kind of table so we had to hold our 1 yr old. The hostesses at the front weren't as welcoming but our waitress was really great and attentive. It was great service throughout the whole meal. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The guacamole with chips were a great appetizer. The Scottish Salmon with mashed potatoes substitution was really good. The kids got the cheeseburger and chicken bites with fries. The cheeseburger was decent but I wouldn't recommend the chicken bites. Overall, I would come back again to try different menu items but probably not with a big group of people again. read more

Bar service at the upstairs bar was very attentive and you could watch the games on multiple TVs. There was a wait for table eventhough on a Saturday afternoon the restaurant was not full. There was a sweet sauce that came with the calamari that was amazing, though. I'd ask for that sauce for almost anything, it was that good. I decided to go with the the raspberry lemon drop (or blueberry I don't remember, it wasn't actually on the menu) as recommended by the server. Usually love lemon drops but this drink wasn't that good to me. Probably would just order the regular one or switch to a complete different drink if I were to ever come back. Moxies is a great brunch spot in Houston. Located right by the Galleria, it's quite easy to get to. There's valet parking and self parking but the lot fills up quickly especially on the weekends. We got here around 2pm on a Sunday and grabbed a booth for 5 people. Our entire party wasn't there yet but they didn't give us any grief. They sat us while we waited for others. For my drink, I got a Mai Tai, the guys got Angel's Envy on the rocks and we did a few apps for food. We got the glazed salmon and calamari. The food was great and so were the drinks. I went last night with a couple of friends and got a smorgasbord off all of our favorites. Did not disappoint . Only thing that made my experience an 8 out of 10 was we were being rushed , waitress asked us about three times for a box to go & if we were ready for the check. I have to say since Moxie's G&B showed up in this location back in 2017 this corner of Post Oak has always been bustling with business. I would intermittently come with small groups or in pairs but have always found this place to carry good vibe and friendly people for either HH or casual meals. I've come to this restaurant many times because I'm a huge fan of their calamari app and the chipotle mango chicken, which is always delicious! HOWEVER, it struck me odd that a 20% gratuity was automatically put on our bill (party of 2) on a Sunday, which has never happened before on any of my previous visits. They also don't let you know the gratuity is added which can cause a double tip which is not okay. Also, they ask for a card to be put on file as we began ordering and no we weren't sitting at the bar. For a restaurant that enforces a dress code, you'd think the servers would be on top of their service to avoid walk outs which is why cards are put on file. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, parties of 6+ is when gratuity is added and cards are asked to be put on file at sport bars/bars. read more
