Saw this spot while I was nearby, and in all truth, it's easy to miss because it's a small building. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito, not expecting too much, but hoping to fill my hunger. It was fairly slow so the wait wasn't very long. The burrito ended up being a decent size, but pretty bland. Maybe missing some salt or seasoning, but hoping for more flavor. Normally chorizo is pretty noticeable, but I just tasted egg enhanced with the added salsa. Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. They also wear gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This restaurant is available for take outs. While I was grabbing my food from this restaurant last month, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their restaurant. They have really bomb carne asada fries. I always get those whenever I come here. They also have some really bomb tacos. Overall, I love it here. I hate when carne asada fries are made with super thin fries and they used the thicker fries. Currently my favorite carne asada fries choice. They actually have jalapeño's available and don't charge for them like other places do. Central Indiana is not a hot bed of Mexican cuisine and chain Mexican like Alberto's isn't something that we have available to us. But on our recent 5 day trip to SoCal I am nearly positive we stopped everyday for the following reasons: 1) the food...fresh and delicious 2) the staff...so polite and friendly 3) horchata...liquid cinnamon roll per my youngest 4) the cost...cheap in relation to portion size I don't know who she was (manager? owner?) but after the 2nd or 3rd day she recognized my return visit and had so many pleasant things to say, engaged my daughter in conversation, etc. Just so unexpected but completely welcomed. I really wish I had gotten her name to write her a note. Green sauce on the side had a nice kick, went great with my massive asada burrito. I loved the fresh guacamole, had chips one day with some pastor tacos. My wife and youngest voth went with the flautas, their favorites. Good and crispy outside, perfect for dipping in some sauce or guacamole. One of our family members who lives in the Glendora area said he swears by this location for an Alberto' s fix because of the freshness and service. I completely concur. It will probably be some time before we make it back out west again but I would stop by this afternoon if I could. read more

I came to this place thinking it would be just as good as the rest of the Alberto's that I've been to... WRONG! I ordered a chicken burrito, what chicken burrito!?! It was loaded with way too much beans and rice with a sprinkle of chicken, basically no more than a tablespoon of chicken which was way down at the bottom. I paid $8.12 for a bean, rice and cheese burrito! I called to talk to someone about this and spoke to Veronica, who told me to bring it back tomorrow. I was extremely disappointed! Plus my husband ordered an asada burrito which he said was just ok... my daughter ordered taquitos, which were also a huge disappointment, other than the toppings of guacamole and cheese which were good, she said the inside content was a ridiculous amount which was hardly anything. Alberto's. I don't know what to say to you. I loved this place when it first moved to my city like 20 years ago it seems. And I don't know if their food got worse or my taste buds evolved to wanting better. But man, this chain has gotten pretty bad. I used to get a carne asada burrito with just cheese and sour cream. Topped with their (used to be delicious) green sauce. Now even the sauce isn't great anymore. Everything is just bland. The carne asada is questionable as even being meat. It's just grey fatty cubes of some kind of tasteless protein material. They're shredded chicken isn't bad. It's like a burrito you'd get from a post apocalyptic restaurant where animals and spices were non existent. So they make due with what they've got. Which definitely isn't seasoning. I will say this, they have the best tortillas. So perfectly chewy. Delicious. And they have my favorite breakfast burrito. Eggs, ham, cheese and sour cream. That's it. I don't like papas in my burritos. So it's perfect. They're warm, big, juicy and delicious. Every now and then, I'll order my carve asada mentioned above. Butt I'm always disappointed. Let's put it this way I faked a year of being vegetarian eating the carne asada and machaca in my car alone. The wife had a craving for taquitos. Also grabbed a bean and cheese burrito and a carne asada burrito. Things have changed. The taquitos were smaller than before. Great taste. The amount of cheese and guacamole same as before. And can't beat the bean and cheese burrito. Getting over covid but glad I'm able to taste the beans and cheese. Carne asada burrito was different. The meat tasted a little different. Who doesn't love Alberto's? We came here on a early Friday evening to grab a bite to eat. The lady working the register was friendly and patient as it took us forever to make up our minds. We ended up sharing an order of carne asada nachos. The plate was filled with tons of meat, shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and crunchy tortilla chips. The meat was juicy and the chips didn't get all soggy. This was definitely filling for our party of two. Looking in the from the outside you wouldn't think much of this place. Once inside, the first thing I noticed was the small menu but I also noticed how cheap everything on the board was. I ordered the steak burrito with a side of chips. My food arrived within 10 minutes. The steak had so much flavor. I was very impressed. The chips were a bit greasy, but come on...they're chips. The 2 types of salsa that were available are just OK. They're not the best, just ok. There's not very much parking spot available in the lot. Most of the spots are designated for specific stores. A couple of 30 minute parking spots are available directly in front. I'd come back if I'm in the area again. Quality food for a great price. read more

We've lived in Glendora for two years now and if we wanted Mexican we would either make it ourselves or visit a local sit-down in Azusa....no, not Max's but that's good too. I was always leery of any Alberto's because of a previous bad experience but my partner had tried it recently and raved about it. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. We stopped in to order for take out; the place was clean and the staff very friendly and courteous. I often judge Mexican places by their beans and rice 'cause if the staples aren't right then the rest sucks too! Their beans are right on point as well as the fluffy and tasty rice! We had the chiles rellenos, taquitos, rice, beans, and a quesadilla....shut up, we were hungry! All the food was dee-licious! I'm not a fan of fast-food Mexican but this Alberto's has a few new repeat customers. Next I'll try their Chile Verde...I consider myself a Chile Verde connoisseur so if it's not great, you'll hear back from me. OH, and reasonably priced, adequate parking (at least when we went at 8pm on a Saturday), GREAT customer service, and easy to read menu with the usual (and not so usual) choices. Out of all the Alberto's Mexican food locations, this location here on route 66 in the city Glendora was the most impressive! I met Carlos Salazar who is The chef here and chatted with him. The place was very Clean and the A/C kept the restaurant very comfortable on a Hot Day! The food was good and customer service was excellent and the people working here very pleasant! A friend whose parents own a Mexican restaurant near my work said he was planning to spice up and modernize the menu with an item indigenous to San Diego, CA: Carne Asada Fries. Considering that this friend is lagging it big time in this endeavour, I decided to get a taste of the dish by getting it somewhere else. At Alberto's the menu item listed Super Fries is essentially Carne Asada Fries. What you get are an insane amount of the shoestring fries topped with ungodly amounts of cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and carne asada. Heaven! Normally, I really could care less about carne asada. I don't look upon it as the very item that represents the pinnacle of Mexican food. When you've sampled the roasted beef dishes of Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and American cuisine, it's really just another thing. The carne asada here exhibited the signature taste of the 1st location that I visited many years ago, right across the street from Northview High School. Upon receiving my to-go box, I started guesstimating how much energy this bad boy was gonna provide me, as there was no way in hell one could look at this package as some sort of side dish to enjoy with a full-on meal. My calculations resulted in a 2000 kcal minimum. Yup, this ain't on the Weight Watchers list. My friend better get on the ball, because I don't always wanna have to go out here to get this stuff. I used to love everything about this place when I'd come here on my Senior lunch break as a student at Charter Oak. The selection of burritos, flautas, tacos, and even "Super Nachos" was marvelous--freakin' marvelous. Thennnnnn I moved to San Diego for school and my perception of Mexican Food revolved. Just. Like. That. I was welcomed by various tacos al pastor, 'street-style' tacos that made my mouth absolutely water in enjoyment. The different San Diego-esque styles of "California Burritos" and "Carne Asada Fries" that tickled my fancy at every SD hotspot for Mexican Food. It made me realize how ig'nant we are here in Glendora. O! Why must we be deprived of these joyous selections in the vast 626 area!?! Who knows? But this place is still pretty good. I rarely post negative reviews on yelp, but I have no choice. My brother and I got 3 flautas, and when they came, there was barely (and I mean BARELY) a tablespoon of guacamole on the side, disguised as a bigger pile because the extended the lettuce underneath. When we asked if we could get some more, because there was NO WAY you could spread that guac to THREE GIANT FLAUTAS, the worker got really peeved at us, saying "we serve this exact amount to EVERYONE and NO ONE ever complains." And said if we wanted more we had to pay $2+ to get another tablespoon worth of guac. The original guac only lasted me half a flauta, and I don't even use that much guacamole at all. Quite good in an average sort of way. When it comes to Mexican food, I think Alberto's is like... a Denny's. .... ..? LOL I don't hate Denny's but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. Pretty typical, you get a pile of fries (cut medium thick) topped with some cheese, beans (blech I just ask to take this out), chopped up steak, guac, etc etc. and you should definitely get yourself some salsas to go with it for some sauciness lol. I like the green sauce, but I would just skip the red. I've had better carne asada fries elsewhere but even the worst carne aside fries is still pretty good. You know?! Like how bad can it be lol it's fries with stuff on it. But anyway Alberto's version is pretty good. My bf got some tacos there also (pork and some others I don't remember), but they were like whateeeevs. I'm a bIG HUGE fan of tacos, and these really don't seem that authentic (not that I've been to Mexico or whatever but just SEEEMS like it). And I just really LOVE those taco truck tacos, or the ones you find in GCM or King Taco. So these tacos were ok. I did try the fish tacos, and they were actually better than I thought they would be! Pretty yummy. They also have horchata and pineapple water and stuff. Good for thirst quenching. I haven't tried much of their other stuff, but maybe I should. This is by far the best Alberto's restaurant. Always a short line, always a seat, always incredible service. Raul is always super helpful, greets everyone with a smile and practically knows our order every time we go in! Flautas, al pastor, and horchata!! My favorites!!
