Not a salon...not Supercuts...not Great Clips...not even Fantastic Sam's (if they are even still around?). No fancy "bells-and-whistles" - BUT, inexpensive, clean, and the staff is friendly. Barbers come-and-go, so it is important if you have particulars to either: (a) continually visit and request or use the same person over-and-over (b) be patient. Don't leave until they get it right - they are more than willing to provide you the cut and style you want; even if you have to come back the next day. Personally, I have Jimmy cut my hair and for the past two years - he's gotten it right every time. I have no idea what this women was thinking. I go in ask for a trim on top and short on the sides I even point to the picture hanging on the wall. She then proceeds to buzz my hair for reasons I cannot explain. I looked at her and said, All I wanted was a trim why did you buzz my hair. She just gazed at me with a blank stare as if the lights were on but nobody's home. The other hair dress looked just as surprised she covered her mouth, looked down before jotting off to the back room. I will never go back, this place sucks, WORST HAIR CUT EVER!! Coming here for 3 years and have had everyone cut my hair. Only one barber gave a below average hair cut in that time. Hard to beat $8 and still come out happy. They also cut both my boys hair with same care. I have recommended to others and they still go there. read more

Jimmy is the man! For the price you can't beat it. Location is tricky to get used to but once you get in to a routine it's not a big deal. Cash only, mellow environment. Usually not too busy in the mornings. Definitely recommend! read more

Cheap and easy. It is 7 bucks for a mens cut, there is usually no wait or at worst a few minutes to wait. 2 t.v.'s, magazines if you have to wait. The owner is friendly and they usually make small talk while they cut your hair. Good place for little boys too I bring my 6 year old with me and they do very well on him as well. read more

I now work in Denver so I'm only here in HB periodically. Today, I found out Tracie, a very professional and do it RIGHT barber, moved and no longer works here. I'm disappointed but still need a haircut. The gentleman who cut my hair tells me he is Tracie's brother. I think to myself, well that's a good sign. I show him pictures on my phone of my haircut after I got a good cut from Tracie. He proceeds to cut my hair but he left it too long. I ask him to make it shorter on top (almost a crop but not quite). He uses trimmers and is done in less than 2 minutes. I pay and walk out disappointed. I gave Tracie a $5 tip on top of an $8 haircut every time ... she deserved it as she did the job right. I gave this guy nothing for a tip and will never return. I was prepared to give him the same tip I gave to Tracie - all he had to do was care to do the job the way I wanted it done. Tracie was value added. Now it seems you get what you pay for. A shame ... I guess it's cuts in Denver from now on - $17 + tip for a descent cut but far inferior to Tracie's work. read more

I love this place. I highly recommend if you want a simple cut. Their tapers, buzzes, combovers, and trims are always accurate and on point. After leaving my job in Fountain Valley, I decided to go to another hair cut place closer to my place in Costa Mesa. It doesn't even compare. I'd rather drive a little farther to come back here. For a men's hair cut, it is only $7 without tip, so I am not complaining there. Even if they mess up, my hair grows fast, and $7 is like one chipotle. hah read more

Visiting from out of town and needed to grab a haircut for a wedding. Popped in here and waited about 5 minutes to be seen. A no frills barber shop, but everything you need. Haircut was excellent and efficient and you can't beat $8! Would go back if I lived in the area. I do a basic buzz cut, and the attention to detail was great. read more

I went in because I knew there wouldn't the a wait and needed one within the day and just don't. I washed my hair before because my roommate warned me about their sanitation. Thank god I did. But when I get in the lady kept scraping my face and eat very hard. She was taking her time doing a good job but when other people came in she started to violently rush. I then asked her to make both sides at least even. She did a little more but she was rushing hoping to get another costumer. Then proceeds to not even blow dry my hair she tells me how to do it right. Like I never have. Doesn't even bother. Then I go up to pay and it says 10 and up and she says 20$ I was like what the hell. It was a total of 12 minutes if that no wash no blow dry nothing. She said it was bc my hair was curly. My hair has never once had a natural curl in it a day in my life. It is PIN straight. I said If she wants to blow dry my hair then I'll pay that but then she just says to leave. I have been coming here for a few months now and am very happy with the job, service, and especially price. Everyone who works there is good at what they do and are fast but good at not making you feel rushing even though there is always a line of people waiting to get a cut. I usually get Tracy to cut my hair because she is sweet and knows how I like it. They also have pretty sweet barber chairs and plenty of TV's. This is also another locally owned business that is willing to keep prices low and work productivity up, most companies today do the opposite it feels like at times. read more

Disappointed. The most sensible word I could use for my visit to Mr. Barber. My brother and I went to this barber shop and it was a disaster. Even though we showed pictures, somehow they didn't get a single part of it right. At first glance the hair looks alright, maybe laughable even. However, it wasn't until we fully examined our hair when we realized these people did not know what they were doing. As soon as the lady put on her glasses to look at the picture I knew it was a mistake coming to this place. The lady did not even try to communicate with me, i wasn't even sure if she knew English or not.
