After my first time coming here several months ago and waiting for almost 2 hours, I didn't think I would return to dine. My recent visits, however, have been during a weekday lunch, and the madness isn't as crazy as dinner time. The servers we've had so far have been friendly and attentive. For lunch, the meat quality and variety at Mr. BBQ is of good quality and delicious. Just a few differences from the dinner menu. Several of my favorite items under the lunch menu: Thinly Sliced Prime Beef Brisket Premium Wagyu Beef Belly Baby Squid Black Angus Prime Top Sirloin Spicy Garlic Pork Butt Miso Marinated Pork Butt Housemade steamed egg I like to dip into the red chili sauce and the sesame oil with salt mix. The rice paper and greens are what I prefer to wrap the cooked meats in. Love munching on and adding some of the banchan (side dishes) to each bite. The complimentary ice cream is a nice touch too. The service has been excellent so far. Wait times are much shorter during lunch and mid-afternoon on weekdays. The atmosphere can get loud, especially when there is a birthday or group celebration. We loved their variety of banchan like their fish cakes, rice paper, cucumber, potato and mac salad and more. Their kimchi is a bit too sour for our taste though. Customer service was quick and remembered all of our orders. Just a heads up, on weekends, it's dinner prices. I wished our waiter let us know before we started ordering because we kept ordering from the lunch menu. We ordered double brisket, beef belly, pork short rib, thick and thin pork belly, small octopus, small intestine etc. Honestly my favorite was the brisket, thick pork belly and the small intestine was really really amazing. They also have garlic, soybean paste, steamed egg, cold noodles, and tofu and soybean soup too. We ended our meal with vanilla and chocolate ice cream. They used to have green tea ice cream though. Came here on March 20th cause my friends and I were craving Korean BBQ after we just went to the gym. We've tried this place before so it was about time that I wrote a review for it. The parking situation is a little rough so I recommend parking in the neighborhood close by. We walked in and it was packed so that's a pretty good sign. Our table was ready in about 15 minutes which was amazing. Once sat down the ban chans were brought out to our table which was nice because that means it wasn't place out for too long. We were then greeted by our lively server named Kenny! He introduced himself and asked if it was our first time there and we said no and he proceeded to take our drink order. Once back with our drinks he took our order of meats and also gave us great recommendations as well. Huge shoutout to Kenny for being attentive to us. After finishing each round of meat he would come by the table minutes after to ask if we were ready for another round and we always were. Our table loved his recommendation of the beef belly which we kept ordering. Without even having to ask he would bring our table a new water jug which all of us noticed because we didn't ask him to refill it, he just would know from being attentive! This goes the same for our ban chans, our table eats lots of ban chans so he would bring us big bowls of each dish which was fantastic. If you are looking for great quality ayce kbbq, we highly recommend this place. Each plate of meat looked and tasted fantastic. Service is phenomenal. Servers are very attentive and care about the tables a ton. The ambience is very lively and they have huge screens playing sports. I do wish maybe one or two of them were playing K-pop music videos but that's just personal preference. Food is absolutely hands down one of the best in the OC area. Been eating here for years and the price is absolutely worth it. The side dishes are pretty great. I would say the potato salad is a little bland but that's pretty minor in comparison to the quality of all the meats and other side dishes. 11/10 would recommend. read more

I came to Mr BBQ on a Thursday night with a large group of friends on my last visit to LA. I am usually not a huge fan of AYCE Korean barbecue spots for several reasons... first being that I just cannot eat that much. Second, the quality of meat does not tend to be that great. I came here with low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff here are so friendly, I requested if I could order a different menu item and opt out of the AYCE option despite my entire table selecting it. The staff were kind enough to make an exception so I ordered a tasty Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap. The bowl was huge and I could not even finish it! -_- I did not try the meats since I did not do the AYCE option, but judging by how much my friends ate... I would say it was delicious :) All orders for the barbecue came out quickly, I was even more impressed since this place was packed when I came... yet they were still able to manage all of their tables and attend to all their customers. I can see why this place has such amazing reviews. I would definitely recommend Mr BBQ, great for large parties and delicious AYCE menu. Also, I would also say great for birthdays, we must have witnessed 10+ birthday celebrations the night we were here... not sure if a ton of people are coincidentally born on Halloween or if staff just weren't checking IDs and singing happy birthday to any customer that requested it :P Overall, a fun experience! read more

Had dinner here for a friends birthday last night 11/24. My boyfriend and I showed up to put our names in on the waitlist at around 5pm. Parking: The parking lot for Mr. BBQ is not great. Very limited spots for such a popular KBBQ spot. Mr. BBQ also has signage posted at the hostess podium urging customers to NOT park at the Bigs parking lot as they will tow. My boyfriend and I had originally parked in the Liquor store lot but felt super uncomfortable so we decided to circle the lot until we found a spot in Mr. BBQ's lot. Wait time: As I said before, its a pretty poppin spot in Fullerton so the wait time for dinner for a party of 9 was about an hour on Sunday around 5pm. They have a text message system so we put my number in and you can check your place in line via Yelp and they also text you when your table is ready. There are a couple tables you can sit at while waiting for your table and they have boardgames and you can order drinks as well. Food: The entire group had the all you can eat option. We had two grills between a group of 9 which was perfect. Lots of sides to choose from, the salad is amazing and their brisket is bomb af. They have veggies you can grill with as well, onion, jalapeños, garlic, asparagus just to name a few. They have a large variety of meats and the service was great. Drinks: We all had a beer tower which was plenty for the group of 9. We also had a round of waters and a pitcher so we didn't have to worry much about flagging anyone down to get refills. Price: For a group of nine with all you can eat and beer it came out to be around $42 (we split it between 8 because we were treating the birthday girl) with gratuity included. Pretty good! Funny thing is that we lost count as to how many people were there for birthdays because.. the staff makes it known to the entire restaurant that its someone's birthday lol. The atmosphere is loud & casual. Overall great experience, just be patient with the parking situation and you will be golden. read more

Mr BBQ - A little bit of everything - Korean Near Me - Fullerton, California

Mr BBQ is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ place with two price options. The lower option is $25 per person, and includes ~20 meat options. The higher option is $36 per person, and adds 9 premium cuts of meat and seafood. That being said, at either price point Mr BBQ is on the expensive end, compared to other popular places in Cerritos, Rowland Heights, and the broader San Gabriel Valley. The protein highlights from our meal were the Galbi and the Bulgogi, both meats that are marinated before cooking. The Galbi is short ribs with bone in, and the bulgogi is small pieces without any bones. The marinade is the same, and so the difference is the quality of the meat. The Galbi is higher quality and on the Premium menu, while the bulgogi is lower quality and on the regular menu. I personally don't like dealing with the bones and prefer the bulgogi. The Filet Mignon was a single chunk of steam, prepared with some salt and a few drops of oil. Since this meat is thick, it takes longer to cook and the inside will be medium to medium-rare. If you prefer medium, cook the filet first while the grill is still heating up (longer time for the heat to transfer into the center of the meat). The brisket seemed tougher than brisket I've had elsewhere, and I did not ask for any more of it. The banchan were generally bland, we did not get a refill on any. The salad had an interesting spicy oil/vinegar dressing, which was enjoyable. But at the AYCE prices we did not focus on the salad. The meal includes a scoop of ice cream at the end. Usually there are multiple flavors, but the green tea was finished yesterday so only vanilla was available today. The ice cream is generic, better to go to Afters Ice Cream right nearby, but why would you want ice cream after AYCE korean bbq? read more

I have been SO eager to try this place since my partner canNOT stop raving about it...and after eating here, I understand why! We came in for dinner on a Tuesday evening, about 1.5 hours before closing. They let us know the wait would be about 20-30 minutes, and we decided to wait it out. We had HUGE appetites so we ordered a lot. One of our favorites that we just ordered so many plates of was the beef tongue! I'm a huge fan of beef tongue, but this place offers such a delicious cut! One let down, unfortunately, was the steamed egg. Both our steamed eggs came out overcooked, slightly browned on the edges with a slightly rubbery texture. I assumed it was because it was nearing the end of the night, and my partner confirmed that their eggs are usually not served that way. I cannot highlight enough the spectacular service we received as soon as we were seated! Our servers were incredibly kind, super receptive to us and all our orders and refill requests, and were kind in letting us know when they were doing last calls. Assuming this is a COVID precaution, they are providing the menu via a QR code to be viewed on your phone! Just a heads up in case you are overwhelmed while scrolling their extensive menu! But look, just because you get burned once doesn't mean you shouldn't light the fire one more time. After coming here with the podcast and getting the ayce menu I was blown away by the unexpected quality found in lil ole Fullerton. For my second time I took a chance on the $190 combo meant for 5-6 people. But the amount of meat was definitely enough for 8 even. Came here on a Sat night and boy the wait was long!!! For context, you have to be in person to check in. We checked in around 6pm, was told wait was going to be 3.5hrs (we were 48th in line). We probably wouldn't have waited but had a big lunch, so we went to a bar nearby to killed time. We eventually got seated at 8:30pm, ~2.5hrs wait. We did the premium AYCE which came out to be ~$45/person before tip. Lots of variety. The galbi was super flavorful. You can order seafood, steak, filet mignon, ribeye, etc. strongly suggest to stick with your kbbq dishes as the steak and rib. Overall food was decent, ate too much. I'm giving this a 4 star because the service was super fast, friendly, and just how any restaurant should have staff members trained. Kudos!! read more

A bit sweet from the green onion marinade and very beefy flavor. The brisket was nice as well if you're after a leaner meat. I had been here several times in the past with usually five stars rating for the quality and quantity of all you can eat premium Korean BBQ but it was then and now is all that matters. However, surprise surprise surprise, they only offer all you can eat BBQ for $26.95 per person. They still have tremendous array of meat and chicken and pork dishes, but for the few of us who are not hungry enough for all you can eat meat, there is no option. The place was half full. The service staff was excellent and very friendly. They are all usually college students. The hostess had frown at all times. I believe she was seeing the half empty restaurant and was quite depressed. The meat dishes were all pretty good and free ice cream was very good. Britni our staff was excellent. She really knew her menu all in Korean pronunciation even though she is not Korean woman. She changed our hot metal plates twice and kept asking us for anything that we needed. She was a golden five stars. The stews and soft tofu hot pot were not up to their former standards. The place smelled greasy as always and all of Soju bottles on display were caked with grease and dirt. Their bathroom needs remodeling and above all else they should stop diluting their cheap liquid soap. You can ruin your reputation by trying to save a buck! Pleeeeeeese. read more

The wait was worth it, but yes get on the waitlist 2-3 hours before your intended time --you have to be within 3 miles to get on it. The food was high quality and was worth get the most premium of meats. The servings of every plate here is very friendly. The service here is excellent.
