Deceptive pricing! Mr Drain gave me an estimate for $5,200 for approximately 48 man hours of work. The estimator said "I can guarantee that section of pipe is totally collapsed and needs to be replaced". The section was intact with no exterior damage. The final repair is okay. There is still an obstruction but the water does flow to drain. The final cost for an okay repair that was estimated to take 48 man hours took 14 man hours. I was still billed $5,200. That is more than $350 dollars per hour. Bumping this up from one star to two stars. The estimator was wrong on his estimate but the drain does work now. read more

I contacted Mr. Drain as water was backing up in the bathtub and shower for the 2nd time in less than a month. It was Sunday, so I was not sure if anyone could assist. Called to schedule was told about 99 bucks. Asked several times if that would be all. She did not inform me of any additional charges. The guy comes out looks at toilet for 30 sec.tells me it's 450 to unclog snake 75 feet. When I called them I asked for quote snaking 75 feet. They seem very nice and thorough. They said they discovered a bigger problem under the house. If it's true then I will likely use them to fix it but I'm going to hire a private home inspection company to go under the house to make sure I'm being told the truth. Sad that we have to go to such lengths these days but such is life. I'll update this review once I have the report from the home inspection company. There was one negative that concerned me about this company but I'll post it later. It is a very minor thing but a concern. I'll give them a 4 star for now but will update later UPDATE: upgrading my 4 stars to 5. Greg came out to give us a quote. Took the time to go under the house and assess the issue. I'm comfortable with what Greg said and that it is consistent with what his employee said earlier. Greg also provided us with photos of the area that needs attention and he addressed the minor issues that caused me to give a 4 star instead of 5. Where do I start. Pros: they responded very quickly and came out same day. After that it all went downhill. I needed someone to look at my shower that was not able to go from hot to cold. They told me I would need to open up my Sheetrock and fix my entire valve that mixes my water. They quoted me $4,000. I had another team come out and they told me it was the cilinder. They were able to diagnose the issue and fix it in 20 minutes for only $285. DO NOT GO WITH MR. DRAIN. They are crooks and clearly do not know plumbing. They tried to rip me off and do work on my house that was completely unnecessary. read more

(Continued review). Technician was both personable and knowledgeable, probably a rare combination. Ed was both. I had never had a kitchen drain clog up, ever. So, this was a surprise to me. The service was more than expected and the price was really good. The drain is only partially cleared and the greasy sludge clog will very occur again unless we get a "hydroclean" job which Ed recommended. We will certainly consider it. We may see if there's a handyman available who can do the job but I'm not sure I want to go through the trouble to seeking that kind of help from a stranger. My garbage disposal got jammed up and I called around several local companies. No one could come out for somewhere from days to a week but Mr Drain sent someone out that same afternoon. And they actually sent out a Field Supervisor. Ben was able to diagnose the issue quickly and got the disposal back to working. We started with a clog and Rory found that the old plumbing was disintegrating in our slab.
