We were a huge fan of this place. We can on Saturday morning at ten so it may just be a busy time. The not so good: The coffee was not too weak for us. I was not a fan of the green chili or beans in the huevos rancheros. There are a lot of good Mexican breakfasts in this hood so it's hard to compete. What a magnificent little gem! We found this place on yelp and wow, totally blew us away. Lucy helped us (what a sweetheart) fast and great service. We ordered our meal and within 10-12 mins all four of us had our food ... and ladies and gentlemen, we ate a lot, so much so that the food barely fit on the table haha! Pretty darn great. The coffee was good and reasonably priced. They came around often to fill it up so I must of had at least four cups while I was there. Between my husband and I having omelettes, and drinks the total came up to a little under $24 with tax. It was a huge meal and for nine dollars I got the supreme omelette, hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy. It was way too much so come with an appetite. Okay.. Soooo Really I'd like to give this place a 4.5, but they just haven't earned a 5 all around, because the first time service was lacking. Not in politeness, but as in speed and checking up on us. We did though get there like 15 minutes prior to Sunday Closing though by 3am, so understandably, though I'm use to feeling more or being rushed as opposed to slowness when places are close to closing. IT seemed like some what of an oxymoron? (rhetorical) I know when I worked in the service industry I couldn't wait to leave and signed the EO (early out) sheet ASAP! Ok, so on to my food experience. One of my Hanai girls said we had to come here cuz she eats hear like 4 days or so out of the week. Got here because of the 4.5 stars "great service" and edible food. But..... Service: the hostess was very attentive and I think she could be a nicer waitress than one of the ladies there. Lady waitress. I don't know your name but you are (yes I'm typing this at the restaurant and I'm so watching you!) wearing an orange Broncos tee shirt and you are busy flirting rather than doing your job. I got here when there were only three parties including mine. But guess what you were busy doing your things that I didn't get to order till there were five more parties. What the hecking good service is that?? Damn she has some attitude. I noticed that those parties who got ordered before me were all local because they were like "hi! How have you been? How's it going" that kinda things. Luckily the other waitress lady came save the day. Saved my day. She's more polite and actually doing her actual job! Now come the food... I ordered English muffin toast, an order of fruit and three poached eggs. I don't know how they manage to drench the toast with oil! The eggs were not well made either. They were like almost hard boiled blobs. Soo disappointed. Good thing that the fruits didn't require any cooking otherwise i bet they would manage to mess that up too... I stopped by here two days ago with my wife and her parents for breakfast. Mr. Egg sits in a strip mall and its location is easily identified by it's cute mascot which has on a top hat and bow tie. The inside of the place is almost all seating with tables in the middle and then booths on the outside. It doesn't really have any decorations on the walls although there were a couple of TVs. For breakfast on this day I decided to order the machaca. The menu described it as ground beef, mushrooms, onions, hash browns & jalepenos topped with 2 eggs, green chili and cheddar cheese all served with a corn tortilla. Whenever it came out I was impressed with the size of it as it was absolutely humongous. Actually all of the meals that we had ordered were obscenely big. I ended up with 5 corn tortillas, all of which I used to make Taco like items from the machaca. The machaca ended up being really flavorful as the ground beef, mushrooms and onions are a classic breakfast pairing while the green chile sauce gave it some extra flavor and a little heat. It was the jalepenos which really made this dish pretty spicy and I enjoyed the heat that they provided throughout my meal. By the time that I had finished my machaca and tortillas I was absolutely stuffed. Even so the crispy bits on top of the hash browns were calling to me and so I happily ate them. I did end up leaving a large portion of the hash browns on my plate but that's not because they weren't good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I now have chosen to eat at this restaurant on the average of 5 times a week, be it for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and every meal I have had is a 6 star meal on a 5 star scale. My friends who always eat with me also agree. The food is of the highest quality, and the same can be said about the service and ambiance of this restaurant that sits at the end of a strip mall. The pricing is the best in Denver, and they should really be charging more as the helping are huge, and because of the quality. Another great thing my friends and I like about this place is you are always greeted with a smile from the help. I have to say the majority of the reviews of this place are correct. Great food and service! The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars (which I was close to doing) was that the floors were a little on the dirty side (maybe they need whoever buses the tables to run through with a broom occasionally) and since this was our first time here, we didn't know the 'drill' upon entering. Apparently you just seat yourself but we didn't know that and no one (as we stood at the door looking confused) came up to direct us. It'd be nice if they had a sign up to please seat yourself 'or' please wait to be seated. Also, the girl who rang us up was not really friendly as our wait staff was. Other than that though, this is in my opinion an excellent place to grab an awesome bite to eat. This was my first time here but it won't be my last! read more
