The fish & chips were gorgeous! The food was more than enough. The service was excellent. The beer was superb (I had the local Cloudburst IPA as recommended by our server). The location was charming. I suggest walking from your hotel if you are a visitor because traffic is congested in this location. The outdoor seating had a view of the puget sound. And mainly, the fish was moist and cooked perfectly! We spent $30 per person and included beers.

Visited Seattle for a couple days before an Alaskan cruise. Pike Place was on my list of places to see while there. I got hungry and stumbled upon Mr. Fish. There was a line, but since it seemed to be moving at a decent pace, I jumped in line and waited. Once seated outside in their lovely patio area, I ordered the fish & chips and a cup of clam chowder. My meal came fairly quickly and they had me at the first bite of clam chowder. I immediately tasted white wine. It was devine. The fish and chips were some of the best that I've had in quite some time. I honestly didn't expect much when I landed at this place. But I walked away promising myself that if I visit Seattle again, this place will DEFINITELY be on my list.

Don't let its Pike Place-adjacent waterfront location fool you, Mr. Fish is not some tourist trap without any real substance to the food. We sampled widely from the menu, and walked away satisfied with the meal. Favorites included the white chowder (accompanied by the garlic foccacia bread to dip), fried calamari, and fried shrimp. The salmon "burger" was solid too, with two generous slabs of clearly fresh fish. Also worth a shoutout is the service, which made us feel welcome and relaxed even during world cup traffic. What was a little bit of a letdown? This may be surprising based on the restaurant's name, but the fried fish...and the chips/fries. Neither were *bad*, but I would've liked both to be crispier. The fries were also a bit oily for my taste. Overall if you're looking for a tasty seafood meal in a beautiful location, Mr. Fish won't let you down. If you're specifically looking for fish and chips, it might not knock your socks off.

My friend and I came here on a busy Saturday but it's a huge restaurant in a popular tourist area so they are definitely well-suited to accommodate lunch rushes. We got patio seating and ordered the rockfish tacos, the king of the sea (which is a piece of cod over a bed of fries and a cup of chowder), and the 30 mile clams. Our server was nice but obviously busy and we noticed that it took our food quite a while to come. It eventually did arrive all at once and by that time we were starving lol. The clams were an absolute showstopper. We especially loved the broth and dipped everything into it because it was that good! It came with two slice of garlic bread. I even wanted to add something to it to soak up ALL the broth. My friend enjoyed the tacos and while I really liked the piece of fried cod, it was quite a small piece. The chowder was pretty good but it was 80% potato chunks. Next time I would just stick to the regular fish and chips options. And of course the clams!!

This place is just steps from the very touristy pike market place. Service was super friendly and prompt. The food? It was very good: the creamy chowder comes with spicy fish crackers which add an extra kick to it. We shared the mr fish combo and they brought it to us in two plates instead of one big plate - points for that!! The fish, calamari and the fries were all fried in a crispy batter. Well worth it!!

    Focaccia "crabby"
    Deborah S.

We had a lovely dinner at Mister Fish in Seattle. We started with the focaccia and made it "crabby," and it came out loaded with rich, creamy crab that was absolutely delicious. The beer‑battered Alaskan cod was perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside--and the fries were truly to die for. We also enjoyed the Rockfish tacos, which were fresh, flavorful, and well‑seasoned. Service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Overall, a very enjoyable dinner.

The place was packed, which should've been a good sign but in hindsight, the crowd may have had more to do with location than quality. Our food arrived suspiciously fast for a busy house, fast enough to make you wonder whether anything was actually made to order or simply pulled from under a heat lamp. The fries were the real letdown: cold, limp, and completely devoid of flavor the kind that make you reach for the salt out of desperation rather than habit. The rest of the meal followed the same theme: technically food, forgettable in every other sense. Nothing here is bad enough to warn you away, but nothing is good enough to bring you back. Mr. Fish & Chips lands squarely in mediocre territory.

Conveniently located by pike place and the pier! Everything tasted very fresh! Calamari was crispy and soft, and our server was very nice and attentive! Price on a slightly steeper size compared to the portion

A great find when all the restaurants at Pike Place Market were packed and had 1 hour wait times. Mr Fish Chips & Chowder was getting ready to close in 1/2 hour but the 8 of us were able to get in for dinner. We were seated on 2 tables of 4's. Our waitress was super friendly and the restaurant was clean & tidy! Didn't know what to expect because we wondered if all the restaurants around here are 1 hour wait, why was Mr. Fish Chips not that crowded? We were not disappointed. Clean atmosphere, excellent service and food okay.

I loved this place! The ambience was nice, and the restaurant was clean and tidy. The staff all seemed happy to work there and attentive. The focaccia was DELICIOUS, and so was the fish and chips. The host/manager even gave me something to rest my flowers in while I ate so I didn't have to try and hold them while eating at the same time. I will definitely be back!

    Oysters
    Hannah Y.

Good: seated quickly despite it looking kind of busy. Fried fish was a bit oily but good overall. The batter was a bit thick. Oysters were pretty good Meh: we got a dozen oysters and they did not separate the oyster from the shells, so we had to dig them out a bit. Not sure if that's expected or not, but most other places I've been in general separate the oysters completely. To be fair, they were busy. One of our orders was also forgotten but we just had them take it off the bill, as we were full.

Tom Douglas's replacement seafood joint (this + Half Shell next door) for Etta's. Good fish and chips. Desserts from Dahlia Bakery. Good food. Friendly service. Comfortable and roomy space. A nice fish and chips addition to Pike Place. Will definitely return.

    Christopher D.

I was honestly really surprised by Mr. Fish. The reviews aren't great and it's right by Pike Place Market, so I didn't expect much, but it ended up being a great experience. Service was really good, and the outdoor patio was lovely, especially on a sunny day. It's also dog friendly, which was a nice bonus. I got the Mr. Fish combo with fish and chips, calamari, and fried shrimp, and everything was delicious. The spicy, tangy tartar sauce with the calamari was especially good. Good food, good company, great setting. Honestly, I'd give it a 10 out of 10. I don't really get the negative reviews.

We have eaten there a few dozen times, bringing pals visiting the city, going literally every time we play a show on the strip-- everyone loves them. The tacos are my favorite, but the queso is dank as helllll making the nachos another fab dish. My partner loves the burritos and quesadillas, though I-- a lover of the crunch --cannot speak for them myself. Are there toothpicks in the tacos? Yes! Not only are these two, structural-support toothpicks clearly visible, there are signs all over the shop about not eating them, and whoever runs your food out mentions them to the table every time. Even the merch / tee shirts tell you to watch out for the toothpicks. Its like the toothpick in a club sandwich, or the stick in a corn dog: you kinda have to want to eat it to end up with it in your mouth, ya know? Are the tacos greasy? Also yes! They're deep fried! That is what happens when you put any pouch-style food in a deep fryer: if it is not perfectly sealed, as it will not be with a toothpick, it'll get some oil inside. If you're not into oily food, maybe deep-fried tacos just aren't for you? As for the folks bashing the service: its standard counter service. If you want table service-- someone to wait on you, come to your table for more than just a drop off, etc --this place isn't for you. I worked in kitchens for two decades. Nothing about Lupe's Situ Tacos is poorly made or lacking flavor-- all three options are unique and flavorful in their own right, but the hushwe is an aaaabsolute dream, and the cauliflower is such a fantastic meat-free choice. Prices are on par with a lot of taco-selling restaurants, so idk what folks are talking about on that front. Mayhaps worth remembering who usually writes reviews on these sites (people who go once and like to bitch vs those of us who actually eat here and don't like yelp conceptually)~
