Their 4th location!!! I've frequented their Mt Prospect location many times in the past and loved it. Their new Algonquin location did not disappoint! The staff was very welcoming the moment you walk in. The place is new, modern, welcoming and a fun gathering place for friends. First things first! Take out your phone, scan the QR code, put in your name and cell phone number and get on the waitlist! They will text you as soon as your table is ready. There are 3 options to choose from. Option A being the most expensive at $46.95 per person with 38 difference choices of dishes. Option B is $34.95 per person with 32 different choices of meats/ seafood etc... and option C at $29.95 with 28 different food choices. Everyone in your group must order the same option choice. Kids 3-10 years old are $2.50 per year. If your child is 5 years old, it'll be $2.50 x 5=$12.50 If this is your first time at a Korean bbq place, option C is great! The Beef Bulgogi is a must order! Definitely try their KFC ( Korean fried chicken) All their appetizers are good. But focus on the meats to get your moneys worth! They also do birthday celebrations there! Let your server know and the birthday boy/ girl get to spin the wheel. They have gift cards you can win or drinks/ desserts. It is really fun! ****A huge shoutout to our server, JOEL! He was great!!! Super friendly, fun to talk to, attentive and memorable! He made our dining experience very pleasant. ****

Came here for my mom's birthday lunch and had a wonderful time! The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff was extremely friendly. This is definitely my favorite My Kimchi location!

One of our many meat choices cooking on the grill at the table!

Everything was AMAZING. The experience of Korean BBQ, the ambiance, the service - I was impressed by it all. The meat and side options were abundant and lots of things for different tastes. Everything felt authentic and true to culture. In addition to BBQ, they also have a ramen bar which I didn't utilize but it was super cool to see. I'm looking forward to my next visit in the future!

Ya'll... WHAT is this place!? I know they have other restaurant locations but yeah - this place is incredible. HIGHLY recommended. It's in the Commons right bt the other restaurants (Bonefish, Chicago Ramen, etc.). Absolutely delicious, top shelf quality, and HUGE portions. All you can eat so pace yourself lol. Amazing mojitos and smoothies too!!! NOTE - DO. NOT. over order. $10 per person additional fee if you don't finish everything O.O! No option to take to go at all. Have to finish it all here or pay per person. It's posted everywhere so it's not a surprise but still - we over ordered lol xD! That said - the AMAZING SERVER gave us a one time assist and didn't charge us. She got a COLOSSAL tip lol xD hehehe In any event, just go! Fantastic Korean bbq. The standout items for us were the Galbi and Bulgogi. So many great options!

Korean food is one of our favorites, and Mr. Kimchi did not disappoint! The food is so flavorful and the staff are respectful and very nice! It's also very classy, they do play loud music but besides that very cool. Would definitely recommend and we will be coming back!

If I could rate this experience/food 10 stars I would! This was so much fun and the meat was all marinated SO WELL. We enjoyed the bulgogi beef, beef brisket, teriyaki chicken, soy marinated pork the best for the meats! Omg so damn good... the appetizers were included in your meal and you could pick any of them, we went with the vegetable pot stickers and the Korean fried chicken...... holy shit. SO GOOD! the garlic sauce they provide you to dip was also amazing... so good on everything especially the beef. My most favorite item was the SPICY TOFU SOUP. It was to die for.. I had two bowls and will be trying to recreate this at home because oh my god it was so good.. the broth was everything, salty and so spicy and the tofu was like falling apart omg I will be dreaming of this soup it was seriously AMAZING. This place was so cool and they had really good alcoholic drinks too. Highly recommend and we WILL be regulars.

Like another reviewer mentioned, this was cooked and prepared (Mongolian style) in the kitchen. It came out on a sizzling skillet. It tasted delicious. The meat was really tender and juicy, but there were a couple of pieces with bone-in which I didn't really care for. I thought the side-dishes were really good. I completely finished the kimchi and pickled cucumbers. So good. I almost forgot about the miso soup. It was pretty standard (which is good) and hit the spot on a wintery day. Unexpectedly, for dessert, the server brought out a Haagan Daas ice-cream bar lol. I wasn't sure if this was normal or if it was just because I'm handsome? (found out later they do this for everyone... lol). I didn't really have room b/c I was full from the main dish and sides but ate it anyways (why not?). Overall I had a delicious meal. I can't remember the pricing off the top of my head, but I would say that it's reasonably priced. Oh, they also serve alcohol here too so if your looking for a spot for a group of people, that is an option. I personally had a large Cass to wash down my meal. Daebak!

My friend and I had lunch at KBBQ today, and I felt like I had to leave a quick review…read more... Having lived in the Chicago area for many years, I've visited just about every restaurant that has opened over the years. I've also been to KBBQ several times for dinner and even left a review when they first re-opened. However, today was my first time trying their lunch menu, and I was genuinely impressed. Unlike dinner time, the bright daylight streaming through the windows illuminated every corner of the restaurant, making it easy to notice how clean and well-maintained the space is. Honestly, if there had been any signs of poor hygiene that I might have missed during dinner visits, I would have noticed them right away. But there was absolutely nothing to find! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us so warmly that we almost felt like we were being welcomed by old friends. They even looked around to find us a more comfortable seat and ended up giving us a great spot. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and happy to explain the menu in detail. Today we ordered spicy cod fish stew, grilled mackerel and a spicy squid stone pot bibimbap... I wasn't particularly hungry :) since I had eaten breakfast not too long before, but as someone who believes in never skipping a meal, I picked up my spoon and chopsticks anyway. Well... my chopsticks got lost along the way. The six side dishes (banchan) completely stole my attention. Every single one tasted like something my grandmother would have lovingly prepared years ago. They were comforting, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The spicy cod stew, grilled mackerel and a spicy squid stone pot bibimbap were outstanding. Especially the cod was so fresh and thick that I found myself wondering, "Is this really cod?" The flaky white fish was incredibly tender, the shrimp, and other ingredients just as fresh. The spicy squid pot bibimbap was perhaps the best of all! I jokingly asked if they had a reservoir hidden behind the restaurant because everything tasted like it had just been caught that morning! Of course, great food is the most important thing, but I truly believe the warm smiles from the staff and the spotless dining environment made the meal even more enjoyable. KBBQ is one of those rare places where excellent food and genuine hospitality come together. It feels less like a restaurant and more like visiting your grandmother's house for a wonderful home-cooked meal. I'll definitely be coming back more often in the future. Highly recommended!

The staff was mostly older Korean ladies that were very helpful and kind. The younger girl working there, gives you great service. Each table against the wall has a button that you can call for service. Prices weren't bad, they're about the same as other Korean places. We ordered popcorn dumplings, Korean steamed egg, beef bulgogi, LA galbi marinated, and soft tofu soup with galbi meat. If you pay cash, you get free ice cream. Also, the banchan is unlimited and you also get Korean stew with the bbq. Popcorn dumplings were nice and crispy. It's also moist and succulent inside when you bite into it. The steamed egg was delicious. The bbq meat was great. I liked that there was more meat than bone for the galbi. I recommend getting the tofu soup with galbi meat. The soup is savory and the galbi meat is very tender. This will be my new go to.

Our party of 5 was seated in one of their both grills right away on a Friday night. We ordered the dolsot bibimbop, the dak bulgogi, fried rice, and bbq A beef sampler. Really good, classic Korean food with large portions and reasonable prices, located in the northern…read moresuburbs of Chicago. Hwang Dae Gham is located in a non-descript strip mall with some closed store fronts, so plenty of parking. My daughter and I were in town and needed to visit in the Northern suburbs, so afterwards decided to have lunch at a place that had meaning for us. Unfortunately, it was closed on Mondays so chose another Korean restaurant. Hwang Dae Gham ended up a great choice. We came soon after it opened, and it was already busy. It is a family owned business, and they obviously take great pride in their food and service. We had a chance to eat a lot of their non-BBQ offerings, and every one of them was excellent. Started with two appetizer portions: mul-mandu (small, bite-size steamed dumplings...supposed to be only pork but I swear I tasted seafood/fish in it...very good...reminded me of eating pelmini in it's size and density); the other was a small portion of japchae which we devoured...usually not a fan of this style of Korean mung-bean noodles, but really enjoyed it. We got two entrees (didn't share for once, so each got what we wanted). I got the squid bibim-bap (mixed rice in a stone bowl)...it's important to look at the pictures, cause it clearly explains the difference between the normal bibim-bap. They basically put a large portion of the squid-bokum, on top of rice...missing the normal cold greens. It was different, and I loved it. It was served with the requisite gochujang sauce, but you don't need it. It's already pre-seasoned. My daughter got the Gamja-Tang (spicy soup with potato and pork neck), and she really enjoyed it....like most Korean hot soups, great for a chilly February Chicago day. All of it comes with side dishes and purple rice. We especially liked the sweet glazed potatoes, picked cucumbers, and sliced mung bean pancake. Service was very warm and consistent throughout. It was just a beautiful opportunity to have a great meal and spend a lot of time with my adult daughter, reminiscing about the past and planning for the future. The entire Hwang Dae Gham environment was very conducive to that. I really wish I had two stomachs so I could sample the other dishes on the menu...all of it looked so good. We ended up bringing home most of the entrees, and it was delicious re-heated. Really inspires me to explore K-Town more when I get home.
