She is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always makes sure we have everything we need. We also wanted to give a special shoutout to the busser we didn't catch his name, but we got to talking with him about how we had just moved here. He was so welcoming and even had the cooks make us a special sauce to try, which was such a thoughtful touch and made our experience even more memorable. Lively atmosphere even late at night. In terms of the meats/ seafood, the seafood options were pretty limited and the meats tasted average. The portions were on the small side so you would have to keep ordering multiple times to get a decent portion. They also had a limit on the ny strip steak (1 per person and it was quite small). However, they do have a good variety of sides that includes soups. That being said, this place has greay service! The server was attentive and was able to get the food and grill up and running quickly when I told her I was starving. She also changed our grill regularly. The food was 4 stars. My server, EJ was 6 stars. All together it's 5 stars for me. I didn't come here to eat. It was 3:30. I was stopping in the parking lot to get some tea from Mama Chai's. I decided to stick my head in to see what Mr. Kim's was about. I looked around and before I knew it they had me seated with a menu. Boy! They're good! I always just get a seafood tofu soup when I eat at Korean restaurants maybe with a side or two. Here you get AYCE so you might as well have the BBQ. And for the first time ever I grilled at my table. And it was fun! I thought it would be hot with the grill there. It wasn't. The ventilation sucked the heat downward I supposed. I got the classic level, which was the cheapest at like $27. I wasn't hungry, so I wasn't going crazy. I asked for the octopus and squid to start. The meats and fish were really good. The sides were really mediocre. I was informed there was no squid and was offered shrimp. That ended up being the best thing I ate. I've never cooked at my table before and I've never cooked octopus before, so this was a totally new experience. EJ was amazing. She was tall and thin and could easily have been a model. Today she was teaching me how to cook octopus. She cut up the octopus for me and showed me how it turned from translucent to white. She spent a lot of time with me and made me feel special. She really is an amazing person. I ordered tofu soup, spicy tuna roll, edamame and jalapeno appetizer. The edamame was good. The tofu soup tasted like tomato soup. It was mild. That was weird. No egg in the soup either. The jalapeno appetizer was mostly cream cheese. The tuna was sparse. I normally would love these. This one missed the mark. The spicy tuna roll was covered in teriyaki sauce and that made it a 4/10 for me. The rice was overcooked and the sauce was yucky on spicy tuna. The first thing to be done were my shrimp, which had a good char. I removed the heads and shell and my fingers were sticky after. It was SO good. They give you 4 shrimp. I wish I would have gotten 12 shrimp and the octopus and stopped there. The octopus was finished next. It was spicy but not hot. It was very manageable. The tentacles were tender and fresh. It was quite lovely. This place is trendy and rap music played. It was pretty full for 3:30 pm. The colorful squares glowed and rings of light illuminated the dining area. EJ came back to check on me and recommended the teriyaki chicken. I was getting full but did it anyways. I got it with the jalapeno side and vegetable side. It looked done to me until EJ came and chopped it up. It was still pink in the middle. She brought me a sauce that I poured over the chicken and veggies as they cooked. I have no clue what it was. It looked like a broth. I sprinkled salt and pepper over everything. And then I got so full. I did drink a lot of water. I couldn't finish my chicken and EJ didn't make me. It says there is a charge if you don't eat it all. I was grateful she was so kind. She offered ice cream and I said I could not. She brought me the bill and shook my hand introducing herself. Let me start by saying the customer service was great and the wait for food was never long. I see they're under new management so maybe there's been some improvements. The price point for this place for their regular tier of Korean bbq is great. The bulgogi was on point and the veggies were fresh. I like to see more of a variety of sushi on the list but this was a great option for a late lunch . We went around 4-5pm so it was actually empty (and on a weekday) . I was told to come back because the nighttime weekend vibe is a lot different. Overall, I'd revisit this place and hope to see items added to the menu . read more

I was looking forward to finally trying Mr. Kim's and enjoyed the food but service timing could have been better. I took my niece and her two friends who were in town. We made reservations for an early dinner at 4:30pm on a Saturday. We arrived on time and no one else was waiting but it still took them about 15 minutes to seat us. It took awhile to even be acknowledged. Once seated we had a super friendly server, Elena. We went with the middle tier of the AYCE, the Premium. The proteins were all great. We especially enjoyed the Ribeye and the Pork Belly. They have lots of sides to choose from. A soup is also included. I had the Spicy Tofu which was delicious, not too spicy for me. The Shrimp Tempura and Gyoza was a hit with us. The Jalapeño Bomb, not so much, dry and bland if that makes sense. The let down was the sides took so long to bring out. A couple of times we had to ask if one of them was still coming because they wouldn't bring out a complete order. Since they would bring out a side one at a time, apparently when it was ready, they would lose track of what they brought out. They need a little more organization in that respect. The restaurant is the bright with natural light as well as colored lighting through. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. A scoop of ice cream is also included for dessert, the Green Tea Ice Cream was good. Food is great but service timing just ok. Not the servers fault, she was wonderful; so the kitchen and bussers could improve. So many AYCE Korean BBQ places even just in that area they need to get their food out more timely. read more

So on our recent trip to Vegas, we wanted to try a local KBBQ. We got there around 5pm and it was pretty empty. We got water and service right away. Prices are pretty decent for all you can eat. Sides are ordered as needed. To start, my hubby and I ordered green tea. Menu says hot. The water was barely warm. Not sure if the water being just warm made the green tea taste terrible? It was the worst! I asked them for another one but hot. I never got it. Not mad about that because it tasted bad anyways. When they brought the little dipping trays with sauce and salt, the waiter dropped one and it spilled all over my daughter's leg and seat. We barely got an apology or anything to clean up with! We used all our table napkins and eventually they brought us more napkins, which were the tiny cocktail size. I ordered the steamed egg. Which was terrible. No umami flavor! Like it literally was just plain egg steamed...barely. The rice paper wraps were cut into strips and very very hard to pull apart! I just cut the strips into quarters and ate it that way. The salad was tasty but too much dressing. I know petty, but it had a LOT of dressing. I don't like kimchi so no info on that. The fish cakes were good. My review would be less stars but the meat was pretty decent! The brisket was flavorful. The NY steak was tender. The beef tongue was tasty and not gamey. You can't go wrong with pork belly. The Kalbi was very fatty. Like...very. The shrimp was firm and not too fishy smelling. They serve it tail, head, shell on so it's not very flavored. They put the marinade right on top of the shell so it never really touches the meat. The stand out was the marinated boneless short rib. So tender and full of flavor. So, to sum up. The service was meh, they kept forgetting stuff. Twice the young man serving our table dropped things. The smoke from grilling really lingers since there is not direct vent above grill. The atmosphere was great, Alondra(?) greeted me with a smile and the manager, Elizabeth was very approachable and friendly. She was always smiling and genuinely looked like she loves what she does. My niece has leukemia and is undergoing chemotherapy. It's her 5th birthday tomorrow and our family was out to lunch in celebration. Right after the initial food was delivered and started cooking, she began to throw up. As we were all scrambling to get paper towels etc, a server tried to bring out more food. We explained what happened and asked for the check and to go boxes. The owner/whoever he was said they don't have to go boxes, then tried to charge us the full bill anyway--despite us not receiving the large majority of our meal, and we'd barely gotten a chance to start eating what had been brought out. After pointing out how ridiculous that is, he eventually offered a 20% discount. So we ended up having to pay $108 for a meal we did not get to consume while rushing a sick child out the door. The staff did not try to help or ask if she was okay. They sure found time to place the check on the table though. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years at several places...never have I seen such a lack of basic compassion. Shame on you. read more

*Celiac Review This place has both all you can eat and all a cart menu options. There are 2 sauces that are gluten free. The kimchi is also gluten free. The server takes the allergy seriously and will check the allergy chart to make sure it is safe to consume. There are many unmarinated meats here that feel high cut for good all la cart prices. If there is another meat that you would like to try I was even offered that they could check if they could get it unmarinated. I felt super safe eating here and more than welcomed by this establishment. Even when it gets busy the staff treats you like a friend coming over to eat at their house and are super hospitable. There are music videos playing on the wall but they are not too loud that you can not hear your conversation. Everything about the restaurant feels clean and comfortable. David is doing an amazing job making sure everyone that walks through the doors is well fed and happy by the time they leave. It is worth the venture to the area. I went into Mr Kim's new location with an open mind and high spirits, but unfortunately I left absolutely disappointed. Right off the bat, the establishment felt far too warm inside. I completely understand it might be a little warmer than average seeing as how people have their own grills, however it was extremely warm just upon stepping inside and at most there was maybe 5 table tops grilling (including ours) in the whole place while we were there and it already was way too warm. There was a small portable AC next to the host stand but that was about it and it only felt cool if you were standing in front of it. Next up were the lack of sides (banchan) and their sad flavors. Cucumber salad: I appreciate a good cucumber salad from KBBQ spots since it's usually hard to mess up, but the flavor was lacking. It just tasted like cucumbers that never got a chance to be properly marinated in their sauce. Kimchi: Kimichi is one of those "to each their own" flavors but even my partner who loves almost ANY Kimchi he tries couldn't get behind the one we were served. Spicy tofu soup: The tofu was not cooked correctly somehow? Usually with any Spicy Tofo Soup the tofu is nice and soft, yet this specific soup feature Tofu that never quite got soft and it tasted far too salty and like it had some strong tomato paste being mixed in there. Corn cheese: This was by far the biggest disappointment in terms of the side dishes as it tasted just like someone placed canned corn on a dish, sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese on it, and took a blow torch to the top of it to melt cheese. You could actually taste the remanence of the blow torch as it burned some parts of the corn, along with the melted oils of whatever cheese they used. It tasted like old movie theater butter Now on to the main course which was the meats which were okay. I don't have too many complaints which is why I can still rate the place a 2, but there wasn't anything crazy special about the flavors. The staff was very attentive and fairly quick when we asked for any additional refills which is also why I am still rating it more than 1 star. Sadly my partner and I both felt ill before even leaving the establishment from what we can only assume was our meal since we walked in just fine. So my overall experience here will stay as a 2 with the only saving grace being the meat was okay and the staff was very attentive. EDIT This is also one those places that does an offer of "something for free" if you leave a review on Yelp when you're there in person which may add on to some of the ratings. I belive the offer was for one Free Drink when we went if you left a review. I don't know if they have updated/changed it. read more

Stumbled upon a KBBQ place in Chinatown and pleasantly impressed with this one. They were able to accommodate our large party right away thanks to their seating capacity. Our server was attentive and helpful throughout our meal. I liked how large and clean the restaurant was with easy parking. They had great quality and variety of meats to choose from. The choices of meats were very impressive as lot of the items are not easily found at other places. Definitely worth checking out and will return when in town, especially with a large group. Orders we asked for didn't come, orders that we ordered arrived 15 minutes late and we were sitting waiting and not eating. When you walk in no one even receives you they keep working, after we stand around for about 5 minutes (group of 5) very visible they treated us as if we are not there, I asked one of the workers where is the receptionist, she didn't even answer me and walked away. We ended up go to another Korean BBQ restaurant with immediate attention and was seated in about 20 minutes waiting, the server from the other restaurants came by right the way, that's the difference, Mr. Kim will be place on black list and will NEVZrR go back in our life time.
