I have visited 4 times in the last 3 weeks to enjoy the 2 slices and a drink for $5 deal. I have been impressed every time! If you enjoy thin crust NY style, you will not be disappointed. They have a good selection of specialty slices and the staff has been very nice and attentive. I do visit on weekdays in the evening (6pm) so I can't speak to how busy they are on weekends. I don't usually leave reviews nowadays, but this place deserves the recognition as it's absolutely show stopping! I first had Mr. moto when I was living in San Diego, so when I saw they were opening in Orange I was elated! Since they've opened, I've been back with my partner four or five times now and the service and quality every time is unmatched. My go to is the Rocky Mountain and my partner loves to get slices of the Piece of Art. This evening in particular, me and my partner came in relatively close to closing, which in most cases would result in restricted service or even a limited menu from most restaurants pushing to close up. Not here though, right from walking in, we were greeted and treated with the same hospitality and respect we'd get at any other point of the day. Even when I ordered pasta, which is made to order and delicious, there wasn't a single bat of the eye or hesitation. They genuinely go above and beyond here to make sure the customer leaves happy. I'd like to specifically shout out Leslie, Chris, and Daniel. Even while we were waiting for our meals, I could see the synergy the team had behind the counter and how much everyone genuinely enjoyed their role in the store. Chris had sparked a conversation with us while we were waiting too, showing a natural drive for customer engagement even after food has been delivered and transactions are done. This place rocks. We originally had Mr. Moto in San Diego and really loved. So we're super excited that they opened one here. This is one of, if not the best NY Style thin crust pizza shops in OC. I placed an online order through their app at 8:20pm (they close at 9) for delivery one medium pizza which came to a whopping $49 after delivery fee and tip. There was a first time customer coupon that I applied but didn't work for 25% off. My wife insisted I order anyway because she was hungry and wanted to try this place. Forty minutes later I get a text from UBER who they apparently partnered with saying my order was canceled. I called the restaurant and the guy who answered wasn't very helpful. He didn't seem at all sensitive to my situation and I had to do all the thinking for him. Will it be delivered I asked. He said probably not if uber cancelled it. Then pause... I then said uhhh are you going to deliver it? To which he said no. Another pause... I then said in a frustrated voice "soooo what's your solution" He said , "you wanna pick it up" to which I replied no way. Then another long pause.... I was waiting for him to say he would refund the order. I had to ask " so you gonna refund the order" he said "ya I can do that for you" like it was some sort of favor. I've ordered from Mr. Moto Pizza at The Village three times now, and I want to start by saying the food itself is excellent. Their pepperoni pizza is awesome -- honestly some of the best pizza I've had around here. Flavor, quality, consistency... no complaints at all on the food side. It's really delicious and the main reason I keep coming back. That said, the customer service has been consistently disappointing. Every time I've been there, the staff almost seems to avoid eye contact. You have to practically force eye contact just to get any kind of acknowledgment or response, which makes the experience feel awkward and unwelcoming. They also have a pickup-time feature in the app, which sounds great in theory, but it hasn't worked well in practice. The pizza is never ready at the stated time. For example, today my pickup time was 2:25 PM, but I didn't walk out with my pizza until 2:43 PM. This has happened every visit, so it doesn't feel like a one-off issue. Bottom line: amazing pizza, frustrating service. I'll probably still order because the food is that good, but I really hope they improve communication and respect customers' time -- it would make a huge difference. read more

Came here with the kids for the 2 free slices and drink. I also bought the stuffed knots to give them some business. They were very generous slices and the stuffed knots were hot and filled with lots of cheese. I really liked the pepperoni jalapeño knots. A must try the slices with the hot honey. They only downfall is that we all ordered separately for the free deal and mine took about 40 minutes to come out even though I ordered first. Food was very good, but the service needs serious improvement. Ordering took longer than expected because the server seemed new and pretty confused the whole time. I've worked in restaurants my entire career, so I try to be understanding -- but what happened after that was something I've honestly never seen before. I got my pasta and had already started eating and sharing it with my family when I realized the order wasn't exactly right, the Alfredo wasn't added to the pesto and there was no ricotta. Honestly, I didn't even care about the Alfredo part, but the ricotta was important to the dish. I went back to the front-of-house staff to let them know. She first gave me feta in a plastic container, so I had to clarify that I ordered ricotta. I assumed they'd just give me the correct cheese in a small cup and we'd move on. Instead, she brought the piping bag of ricotta to my table and piped it directly onto my plate after I had already eaten from it. I was pretty shocked, and even more surprised that a manager was okay with that approach. It did not feel like proper sanitation or safe food handling, especially when correcting a mistake. I was also disappointed at how small of a portion of ricotta I got with adding it for $2 extra. The kitchen clearly knows what they're doing, but front-of-house training, sanitation, and food handling practices definitely need work. Pizza is so greasy, make sure you wear a bib like the ones given out at crab boil restaurants. So their website and even their door says they open at 10:30. Not the case, now it's 11:00. Edit: lol.... I guess I'll just have to deal with "my" issues. I'm glad that clean tables are important, except for when it is "busy". Since there were only two workers in the entire place, I'm willing to cut them some slack but not so much the management. Perhaps I should plan future visits for when the employees are not so "busy". After all it's your world and the the paying customer is just in it. As for the other six "issues", I guess it's just "too bad" but those are my issues. It's also "too bad" that the person with the money you want is the ultimate decider. I'll start out by saying that it was a very good thin crust pizza. Then there are all of the little things that restaurants are doing today that make me not want to come back. Let me count the ways. 1. I tried to hand them a $20 bill that says "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private". Normally, that's when I turn around and walk out the door. Credit card only. 2. Next is the tip gauntlet. This place is self service for everything. What am I tipping? 3. "Do you want your receipt?" Of course I do. Why wouldn't I? 4. Plastic knives and forks. If you are not real careful with the knife, pieces of the plastic fork end up in your food. 5. The two slices and a drink special are priced about right. Everything else is a little pricey for what you are getting. 6. Eight small tables but only three of them had a caddy for peppers, oregano, and cheese. If you don't get one of the three tables, you either have to disturb someone else while they are eating or go without. 7. Speaking of tables, they were dirty. Didn't see a single table get wiped down even though the place was fairly busy. I did their next customer a favor by leaving the table in a state that required employee intervention. If I decide to return, it will be based entirely on the fact that the pizza is good. read more

I bought The Hulk pizza slice which has ham, sausage, pepperoni, and bacon. The cashier was friendly and it was not too busy. They had a lot of pizza slices to choose from. The pizza slice was huge and only costs 5 dollars. The cashier warmed it up in the oven and it tasted perfectly hot. I loved the pizza. The only cons is that it was not loaded with toppings as you can see in the picture. Also, the pizza was thin crust and I do not like thin crust. It did taste very good though. Do not order if you don't like thin crust. I would give this pizza a 9 out of 10. I would give it a 10, but the pizza did not have enough toppings and was thin crust. Also, I wanted to pay with cash. But, the business doesn't take cash only cards. The ambiance is welcoming. I would recommend this place to a friend looking for a cheap pizza slice. read more
