The smoked chicken wings with dry rub were good and well seasoned, but I was disappointed in the size and portion of the wings compared with the cost. The sides were amazing as well. I've been here before and had a great beef brisket. This time was not as good because some of the beef was dry and tough. Some pieces were tender and juicy though. I read another review about the cleanliness of this place and I agree it could use some improvements. While I was eating I was bothered by 3 flies . It could have just been me but there were flies around the last time I ate here. I had a good experience the first time, hopefully it will happen the next time I eat here. read more

I had not been here for some time and wanted to try something for a change. Bethany was friendly and tried to make up for the kitchen losing our order...basically the meat is decent to good and if you are a 'Midwest meat and I suppose I should nibble on vegetables and carbs' sort of eater then this place will work but the sides really need a lot of help. The steamed broccoli could have used another 3 minutes in the steamer. Al dente is not 'cannot get a fork into the stem'. The corn bread - well she did not want to say it was the worst she had ever had but that is how you would put it plainly. Lets just say using the Jiffy box mix from the grocer would be a vast improvement and they ain't so great. The bread had a sour taste which a cornbread should not have at all. The slaw was OK - I would lean towards a commercial blend vs home made. The baked beans were overly sweet, cloyingly so. The BBQ pork was decent but I would have preferred 2/3 the meat and some of the more typical burger toppings - you know - vegetables to break up the bread and bun duo. read more

My first reaction was "yum". As a primarily low carb paleo eater, I'm a fan of bbq. I went with a combo platter, knowing that I'd end up with leftovers. I splurged with some sweet potato fries that were really good. Pleasantly surprised. Good coleslaw too, not too sweet. Pulled pork, good, brisket, really good. But something was wrong with the ribs. They pulled apart really easy but the flavor was funky. Not a spice type of funky, more like they use an oil on them, like canola or something. For it! Nachos were also good although the queso was really spicy, especially for a MN restaurant but loved the pulled pork on them. Ribs had a dry rub and were also good and moist. Best pulled pork sandwich in the Twin Cities! Ambiance leaves a little to be desired, but as soon as you taste the food you will not care. I had a local IPA with my sandwich and my husband had the beer can chicken. We also had mashed potatoes, fries and brussel sprouts--all delicious. We will be back!! read more

This place has some delicious BBQ! Wow! Myself, mom, aunt, and friend, met my cousin and his girlfriend here for lunch. None of us had been here before (me, my mom and my aunt are from Green Bay, WI), and even my cousin who only lives about 20 mins from Mr. Pig Stuff, has never been here. So it was a new experience for all of us and boy, were we ever pleased with the experience! Our waitress, Jen, was amazing. So nice and super helpful when we asked questions about the menu and different sauces. She was even nice enough to oblige and take some photos of us before we left. She rocks! But I digress. The sandwich I had (pulled pork) was so good. So much smoky flavor and I really enjoyed their sauces too. Their BBQ Ranch sauce comes on the side with cheese curds and wow, what a delicious combo! My friend and my cousin's girlfriend each got a sandwich called The Pile. It had pulled pork, slaw, mac&cheese, and brisket. Omg, that brisket was SO tender and yummy! My mom and aunt got the two meat platter and they each got ribs. My cousin got the spicy chicken sandwich and he liked it but he was sweating! It was hot! The fries were really good too. We used Mr Pig Stuff for catering my son's wedding last weekend. I was extremely impressed with the quality and amount of food that was delivered. The 3 gentlemen(Kip, Shay & ?) had everything under control and kept the food service on time. They delivered the same delicious quality as if you were being served in the restaurant. From the appetizers to the ice cream bar everything was delicious. Our guests kept asking me where Mr Pig Stuff was located so they could go back on their own. Definitely located out of the cities in my opinion! I know it's Shakopee but it just feels so small town! Got an order of wings, ribs, and beer can chicken. While the ribs and beer can chicken were good, the wings blew me away! They were so flavorful. I would love to come back to try a few other items. Had a side of corn bread and that was amazing!! Hands down the best corn bread I've had (that I can remember anyways!). It was dense, held together well (not crumbly), moist and nice chewy texture. Solid barbecue joint. You will not be blown away. The meat portions are small but they make up for it with the size side portions. The brisket was cut about an 1/8 thin. The ribs tasted like charcoal but were very tender. The macaroni and cheese tasted frozen; not made fresh. The mash potatoes, jalapeno coleslaw and apple cinnamon butter for the corn bread was amazing. The service was solid; but not good enough to blow you away. Overall it's pretty good BBQ for this part of the country. I've been here twice and have walked away feeling the same way about both visits. Personally, I don't find the baby back ribs to be anything special. The flavor is nice, with a nice hint of smoke, but they're not tender enough for my liking. Nothing bad, but pretty average ribs IMHO. When I come back here though, it'll be for "The Pile" Sandwich. It's pulled pork, brisket, mac & cheese and coleslaw piled on a bun with your choice of BBQ sauce. This sandwich is frieken AWESOME. Judging off of my experience with the sandwich, I'd highly recommend the pulled pork or brisket here. Someone's is always too dry, not here. I got the 4 ribs and ended taking half home. Two sides are included. I got beans and mac and cheese. Both were good, so was the corn muffin, also included. Only chink in the armor is the AC. As you walk in it's nice and icy, then you walk in and it's not. I don't care if that's where the ovens are, the seating area isn't much better. Found this place about a month ago and finally made it in. Saturday night we loaded the kids into the car and headed over. Once there we decided on the family meal. Simple enough, 2 side dishes, 1 1/2 pounds of meat and buns. We order and 10 minutes later 2 servers head out with a pile of food! We got the pork and it was great, french fries cooked to perfection and not over salted and then mac and cheese that was super creamy. The amount of meat was amazing, I'm sure they say 1 1/2 but give you closer to 2 pounds. The kids inhaled the food as did us adults. The food was great and it was a great value to feed 5 of us.
