Black beans and rice were also seasoned well with a mild spice to them. Mashed potatoes were also excellent. They don't have anything to eat other than chicken (and some sides) so they must be pretty awesome at that one thing right? HECK YES! If you want mouth watering, juicy, moist, wonderful chicken, well you are about to have the best bird you have ever tried! I know, I know, it sounds a little over the top, but seriously, it is great. The sauces they provide on the side just add little flavor bombs to each bite. The sides were good and the plantains are really amazing. We've added this one to our list of must visits each year. We ate at the place, but this truly is a dive you should pick up and bring back home or, better yet, take the food to a nearby park and have a picnic. Simply amazing If your relatives are visiting Pensacola this is a must visit! Tender savory chicken is off the hook. I tried the fried yucca which by itself was OK but when you add their cilantro aioli it is astounding. I made the mistake of getting the potato salad; it's great but I'm thinking that there were so many better sides to choose from. The only downside is the lack of seating. Oh Emmmmmm Geeeeeeeeee I've been DYING to come here based on all the reviews and pictures and finally dragged my boyfriend here tonight. Holy CRAP you guys this is good. I got the 1/4 dark w/ potato salad and black beans, he got the chicken and rice bowl with plantains and a side of Mac n cheese, and we shared a plate of tostones. I felt bad for my boyfriend, who stared at me in surely what must have been embarrassment as I sat hunched over my plate like Gollum over his Precious, shoving giant bites in my mouth with no pause in between. Right now I am fat and freakin happy. What I liked: the green sauce omg. I ended up pouring that on everything including his Mac n cheese. I wanted to lick that little plastic cup but there were children present. My chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful, the potato salad was some of the best I've had in forever. His chicken & rice bowl was amaze. The parking situation isn't the best but it's worth the parking lot shimmy. The sauces that come the with chicken are delicious and I always get extras. My favorite sides are the black beans and plantains. There are many to choose from. Had the Cream of Chicken soup. While it was homemade, it did not warrant the price. Dining companions had 1/2 chickens and sides. Plantains were good as was the coleslaw.
